Metabase is the easiest way for people to get insights from their data, from tiny startups who get up and running quickly to major corporations with tens of thousands of users. That's why people love us.
We bring data tools with the elegance and simplicity of consumer products to the crufty world of enterprise business intelligence. We provide an opinionated open source starting point for how companies should measure, analyze and share their data, which is used by tens of thousands of companies.
Metabase is looking for our first Account Manager to support our new cross sell motion. We have thousands of customers today that we think will gain a lot of value from these products and are searching for the initial team that will help build and run the new selling motion.
This is a 0-1 type of role that doesn’t have existing process today. You will be supported as we build things out, but the role will demand building out process, designing playbooks, in addition to managing and closing pipeline.
It will undoubtedly be an exciting thing to work on as it could be a key part of our next phase of growth.
What you’ll do:
Define and build target account plans
Build and refine new product positioning
Manage pipeline from creation to close
What we’re looking for:
Experience being the first person in a role of its kind at a company
Ability to iterate on technical product messaging
Ability to manage an active opportunity pipeline
Experience assisting customers with technical proof of concepts
Familiarity with tooling that will help with the job: Clay, Unify, Salesforce, etc.
Qualities we look for:
Ownership
Comfortable with experiments
Strong ability to sell
Technical aptitude
Compensation
The US base salary range for this role is $190K–$200K annually, plus equity and benefits.
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, and scope of responsibility. Pay may vary by geographic location and other job-related factors.
Benefits
We offer meaningful equity and a comprehensive US benefits package, including fully employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance (with 75% coverage for dependents), a 401(k) with employer match available to enroll after the first 30 days, flexible and unlimited paid time off including sick time, and an asynchronous, remote-first environment.
We're a global team (50% outside the US), fully distributed (from Thailand to California), who get things done asynchronously, with plenty of uninterrupted time, supporting each other to do the best work of our careers. We offer flexibility (define your own schedule and work from wherever you want), autonomy, and an environment that fosters growth, learning, and development. We're relentlessly user-focused and believe in building long-term value, not short-term hacks. And we raised a $30M Series B to take our approach to the next level for years to come.

Workplace: Hybrid
ABOUT SENTRY
Software runs the world and the pace is faster than ever. Sentry helps developers fix errors and performance issues before users notice, so teams can spend less time firefighting and more time building.
Trusted by 200,000+ organizations, Sentry is today’s application monitoring standard and our team is building its AI-native future.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Developer Experience team is growing in San Francisco! This is a hybrid role out of our main headquarters and must be based there. We’re looking for a hands-on builder with strong opinions on great developer docs.
Are you someone who loves tinkering with the newest features in your favorite products? Do you enjoy taking the next random JavaScript framework for a spin and figuring out how to make them tick? Does it especially irk you when the code snippets are wrong, or the only docs for a feature are on X? Developer Experience at Sentry lives in the intersection of shipping really cool products and getting developers set up to use them.
If you’re someone who is confident in partnering with Product and Engineering to test and ship the latest features, not afraid to jump in and go hands-on to solve problems for our biggest customers, and a good eye for what good docs looks like - this is a dream role.
Developer Experience at Sentry is a team of builders who are constantly looking for ways to make it easier for every developer to use Sentry. We engage with the challenges facing technical communities, to support developers, gather feedback, and help our product and engineering teams ship new capabilities.
An engineer in this role should be confident to “come with an answer," propose the product solutions, identify the content and/or execution plans and people to partner with, and go execute.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Attend and even host events and meetups in the developer community
- Have a point of view and aren’t shy about expressing it. You get your energy from both knowing the latest trends and having a POV on which ones to ignore. Who’s working on something interesting, who influences the conversation, and who’s going to help drive the conversation forward - while linking all this back to the core problems that Sentry is solving
- Build content that gets people excited to build their software alongside Sentry
- Have an ear to the street. You get excited about gathering insights from users, the developer tool world, and what's currently happening in software development.
- Ride side by side with Engineering, Product, Design, Sales Engineering, Business Ops, and nearly every function in Marketing from Comms to Product Marketing to develop the best content and great product narratives.
YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF YOU
- Are someone who loves taking new features for a spin, learning how they tick, and testing them against your own projects
- Are an educator, a builder, and a human router. And you know that the best way to get people excited about your product is to show, not sell, through cool concepts, useful technical tutorials, and by bringing brilliant people together
- Are a “meh… not bad” writer who understands how to tell a useful and relevant story in 30 words as well as weave together questions to panelists for 30 minutes
- Get excited when you hear that your job is to do ⅓ of each: Educating through useful and timely content + building community through live and virtual gatherings + Being customer-to-product influence
- Listen as much as you talk. And you know how to build a community organically by lifting up and promoting others.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years as a developer and 3+ years in an advocacy or educational role such as developer relations/evangelism, creating technical content, leading a community of developers via forums or events
- You have 3+ examples of technical educational content aimed for professional developers (e.g. tutorial, video series, blog series, course)
- At least one example of your own dedicated blogs, forum or sites with a developer-focused audience and can speak to how you measured success and what promotional mechanisms you used to drive top of funnel visibility
- At least one project using a common modern development language or framework
- You have been an active member and contributor of technical communities, on any platform (e.g. Discord, Stack Overflow, Reddit, Twitter, TikTok)
- Ability to prioritize competing opportunities and balance customer needs versus business priorities
- Stellar written and verbal communication skills
- A down-to-earth attitude, a good amount of humility, and dry sense of humor are a huge plus
The base salary range (or hourly wage range, if applicable) that Sentry reasonably expects to pay for this position is $200,000 to $240,000 USD. A successful candidate’s actual base salary (or hourly wage) amount will be determined by a variety of relevant factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s work location, education, work and other relevant experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. A successful candidate will be eligible to participate in Sentry’s employee benefit plans/programs applicable to the candidate’s position (including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage). See Sentry Benefits https://sentry.io/careers/ for more details about the Company’s benefit plans/programs.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AT SENTRY
Sentry is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to its employees and candidates for employment regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, veteran status, or other legally-protected characteristic. This commitment includes the provision of reasonable accommodations to employees and candidates for employment with physical or mental disabilities who require such accommodations in order to (a) perform the essential functions of their jobs, or (b) seek employment with Sentry. We strive to build a diverse team, with an inclusive culture where every teammate can thrive. Location: Home Based - Americas
We are looking for enterprise sales people based in LATAM and fluent in Spanish. Colombia is currently the highest priority.
We deliver better open source from the data center to cloud and edge. Our Linux distribution Ubuntu is now the leading platform for public cloud compute, and the favorite platform for software engineers, data scientists and AI developers. Our mission is to accelerate the adoption and quality of open source globally, and our goal is to ship the most software on the planet by cores. A tidal wave of open source innovation is the next phase of the entire enterprise software industry, and we aim to be the most compelling way to ride that wave.
Our customers include Global 500 enterprises and startups. We are expanding our product range from the base operating system - Ubuntu - to full enterprise solutions in infrastructure and applications. We can deliver software defined storage, private cloud solutions, container runtime environments, as well as databases, message queues, identity, observability, analytics, machine learning and web publishing capabilities. Customers love the idea that they can get security compliance and support for everything open source from a single company. Our goal is to have more solutions on tap than any other vendor, and we have built unique capabilities to make that possible across every cloud, every class of compute and every category of application.
Canonical provides licensed enterprise software products, commercial support, managed services, consulting and training services to customers who are deploying Ubuntu or open source applications on the cloud, in their data center, or to the connected device and IoT ecosystem. We are just over 1,000 colleagues in 70+ countries and $250m in revenue, profitable, on a steady but relentless growth trajectory. We are almost entirely distributed, with leadership spread across many countries. We believe that talent is equally distributed across the globe, and we are excited to hire, develop, promote and ultimately trust a diverse group of exceptional leads to build the best, not biggest, enterprise software company.
We hire carefully and deliberately; our selection process is long and requires substantial work from applicants. It will take successful applicants three to six months to secure an offer. This is not a place to apply if you are in a rush to find a position, it is a worthwhile place to apply if you are ambitious and long-term in your thinking about your career and the dynamics which move the world forward. If you see clearly the rise of open source, and you understand the drivers of enterprise procurement and technical decision making, then you will understand why Canonical has such a tremendous long term advantage. You will also understand, given the ferocity of competition and the challenges of competing in a market of giants, that we have to set a very high bar for hiring and performance. In order to be a world leading company we select for exceptional ability as well as character, and then provide an environment which promotes teamwork and celebrates diligence, collaboration and effectiveness. All of those are easy to say but hard to do - at Canonical we are willing to be uncomfortable in pursuit of that excellence.
In building our sales team, we look for five things:
Empathy for the customer - a real understanding of customer needs, industry-specific challenges, and a desire to help customers solve their business problems
High intellect - the ability to learn quickly, understand very complex subjects, and communicate clearly to build trust and confidence
Passion for technology - a fascination with the state of the art from brilliant people solving hard problems, and fierce competition for large prizes
Teamwork - a willingness to help others, to collaborate well with people from different disciplines, and to balance personal and team ambitions
Energy - the drive to motivate oneself and others to achieve the best result for the team and our customers
Ubuntu is already very widely adopted which gives us a credible basis for conversations in the market. Nevertheless, it requires real work for sales professionals to build on that adoption to create trusted and profitable commercial relationships with the enterprises in their territory. Our product managers and marketing teams run campaigns to generate awareness, engagement and leads, but you will need to go beyond managing inbound interest to develop the potential of your territory. You will need judgement as to which industries and companies are ready to go deeper with open source and Canonical, and energy to develop relationships in advance of proven interest. We expect professional practice, territory and account planning, as well as clear, complete and continuous reporting on pipeline status and activity, using standard professional tools.

We are looking for Telecom account executives with particular interest in these markets:
Middle East, DACH region, Nordics, Eastern Europe, USA.
For these roles, it is also preferable to be fluent in the local language.
Open source software is the new default in the enterprise, and Canonical is the new challenger to major enterprise software vendors.
The successful candidate will carry an annual bookings quota within their assigned territory. They should be able to travel regionally for client engagement, industry conferences, and internationally for company events twice a year. They will be expected to demonstrate professionalism and effectiveness, to prospect accounts for new business, maintain and develop existing relationships, and work with colleagues and partners on account strategy. - Own systems end-to-end—from storage-layer behavior to API design, deployment workflows, and production monitoring.
Operations, Observability & Scale
- Improve the performance and reliability of one of the world’s largest repositories of container images.
- Develop and enhance observability through metrics, traces, alerting, and dashboards.
- Lead improvements to deployment and operational tooling (e.g., Argo CD, GitHub Actions).
- Participate in on-call rotations as part of supporting critical production services.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor engineers and lead design and architecture reviews.
- Partner with Product, Design, SRE, and Platform teams to deliver high-impact projects.
- Engage with open-source communities, cloud-native partners, and the broader ecosystem.
- This role may require participation in an on-call rotation to provide support outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 8+ years backend engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems and large-scale backend architectures.
- Strong production experience with Golang, including designing and operating large Go-based services in cloud environments.

- Experience designing and running high-scale storage systems (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or equivalent) in production.
- Experience building and operating cloud-based services (AWS preferred).
- Experience with event-driven or streaming systems, such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, or equivalent.
- Strong foundation in software engineering best practices: design documentation, testing strategies, CI/CD, code review, observability.
- Comfortable functioning autonomously in a fully distributed, remote-first team and working effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with OCI registries, artifact stores, or large-scale content distribution systems.
- Familiarity with search/indexing systems or metadata-rich architectures.
- Contributions to cloud-native or open-source ecosystems.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- An engineer with deep experience in distributed systems and large-scale storage
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently optimizes for reliability, automation, and performance.
- A technical leader who takes ownership of complex systems and drives long-term architectural direction.
- An engineer energised by the challenges of operating a global developer platform at massive scale.
Docker considers visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis based on business needs.

⭐ PROFILE & COMPETENCIES ⭐
SKILLS
- Analytical sense and critical thinking: FAs have a lot of research and analysis to produce. This requires the ability to frame the right questions, objectively analyse and evaluate a problem, and problem-solve including simulating possible outcomes.
- Business’ and product sense: FAs often have to think at the company level, assessing what would be best for the business, and working on topics that have cross-cutting impacts. The ability to understand what can make a business great (product wise, commercially, in terms of image, etc.), and make correct decisions, even in the presence of ambiguity, is paramount.
- Execution and collaboration: given the scope, volume and timeline of work, the ability to direct people—including oneself—towards a particular objective that may require active orchestration is key.
- Versatility: given the scope of work, FAs should be able to jump from one topic to another with similar impact
- Organization, time management and autonomy: you are well-versed in missions requiring precision and reliability. You are able to manage a project from start to finish with minimal external assistance.
- Communicate effectively: given the number of Alaners that FAs interact with on a daily basis, the ability to communicate your specific needs (deadlines etc) and to inspire action in others is essential.
- Always looking for the extra-mile: as a FA, you will be expected to be able to deliver quickly and well on the tasks assigned to you, but also to be proactive in proposing new initiatives, going beyond the task assigned to you if you think it is necessary, as well as anticipating future needs to propose potential solutions?
- Growth mindset: you know how to ask for and receive feedback in order to grow as an FA in your early professional life.
- Fluency in spoken and written English. All our communications are written and in English.
- Technical aptitude: Familiarity and appetite for basic programming, experience with data analysis and/or product creation tools is a plus.
We welcome applications from candidates with diverse educational backgrounds, including but not limited to:
- Business schools (HEC, ESSEC, ESCP, LSE …)
- Engineering schools (Polytechnique, Mines Paris, Ecole des Ponts, CentraleSupelec, Imperial … )
- Data science or mathematics programs
- Other relevant fields or schools (Bocconi, Politecnico, TU Delft, UCL, Oxford, Cambridge)
Diplomas matter to an extent but if you don’t have one and have built a project or a company, we’d love to hear from you so please send your application!
