We're looking for a Senior Python Developer to join the Platform team and take ownership of core backend systems powering Aghanim — a direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform that helps mobile game developers monetize outside app stores. We act as a Merchant of Record, handling payments, compliance, and taxation across 200+ territories, while providing game studios with tools for LiveOps automation, player segmentation, and community engagement.
The codebase follows domain-driven design with 60+ business domains, strict code quality standards, and AI-assisted development as a standard part of the workflow. You'll work across a modern Python stack — Python 3.13+, FastAPI, Pydantic — with a heavy integration layer connecting game backends, and external services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Backend Architecture and Development
- Design, build, and own backend systems end-to-end
- Drive architecture and key technical decisions
- Build APIs, integrations, and scalable backend services
Data, Infrastructure, and Reliability
- Design reliable and scalable data and infrastructure foundations
- Own performance and availability against concrete SLOs (thousands of requests per second at p95 latency under 200ms, with a 99.99% uptime target)
- Diagnose, investigate, and solve complex operational issues
Cross-functional Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with product and engineering to deliver business impact
- Raise the engineering bar through reviews, mentorship, and technical leadership
- Take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to completion
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years building production backend systems in Python
- Strong experience with FastAPI or similar modern backend frameworks
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, integrations, and asynchronous architectures
- Strong PostgreSQL and Redis experience
- Experience with NoSQL, distributed, and analytical data stores
- Solid software architecture and system design skills
- Experience operating and scaling high-load systems in production
- High ownership, strong execution, and ability to work independently
- Confident use of AI-assisted development tools with strong validation and engineering judgment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Modern Python tooling (uv, ruff, type checking)
- NoSQL, distributed, and analytical data stores
- Google Cloud Platform
- Event-driven architectures and background processing systems
- High-scale, multi-tenant, or transaction-heavy platforms
- Gaming, fintech, e-commerce, or payments experience
WHY JOIN US
- World-class team – work alongside experienced professionals from around the globe who have built products used by millions of players
- High growth, high impact – be part of a fast-growing company where ideas turn into products and reach customers in days, not months
- Autonomy and ownership – we trust people to make decisions, take initiative, and drive results
- Modern tools and technology – use AI, automation, and modern tools as part of your everyday work
- Equity – participate in the company's growth and long-term success

We actively talk about technology https://tech.loveholidays.com/ and adhere to our key technology principles https://tech.loveholidays.com/the-5-principles-that-helped-scale-loveholidays-7ea0b0fd3df9 that have guided us this far. We are growing and have ambitious plans to expand across Europe, employing the best minds and technology to let us do this.
The impact you'll have:
Reporting to the CPO, you will build and own a capability that loveholidays has never had before: a dedicated function that connects market intelligence to proposition development, and proposition development to commercial outcomes.
This is a new role. You will define what the loveholidays proposition should look like over a three to five year horizon: what we sell, to whom and in which markets. You will own the process of getting new propositions to market, from first validation through to launch. And you will maintain the competitive edge of our existing proposition as we scale across Europe.
You will work at the intersection of commercial strategy, customer insight and platform delivery. Your ability to translate market understanding into clear requirements for product and engineering teams, and to drive cross-functional momentum behind launches, will be central to our growth.
Your day-to-day:
Product proposition pipeline
- Translate company strategy, our vision and competitive intelligence into clear proposition expansion opportunities
- Build a deep understanding of different customer segments: their needs, motivations and the perceived and real value of our proposition to them, getting hands on with research and experiencing the product to create deep empathy and knowledge and share that broadly across the business.
- Track competitor business model and proposition shifts alongside broader market trends, and bring that intelligence into the business in a way that influences decisions
- Build business cases for new products and segments; drive initial validation with user research, platform teams and commercial leads; champion them with the relevant exec and commercial leaders
- Define what the loveholidays proposition should look like over a three to five year horizon and translate that vision into clear proposition and experience requirements for platform and commercial teams
Go-to-market
- Own go-to-market for new products and segments, coordinating across commercial and platform teams to ensure everything is in place for launch
- Define the value position and segmentation approach for each launch
- Own the assessment of initial launch performance and drive the iterations required to hit product-market fit, before handing over to our core and international operating teams to trade independently
Your skillset:
- You have significant experience in product marketing, proposition development or a closely related discipline, ideally within a consumer-facing digital business.
- You are a strong strategic thinker: you can break down complex market dynamics and translate them into a clear, well-reasoned point of view that earns buy-in across the organisation.
- You understand customers at a level that goes beyond research decks. You know how to build real insight and how to apply it to proposition decisions.
- You are an exceptional communicator, written and verbal. You can make a complex argument simple and a simple argument compelling.
- You know how to work in a matrixed organisation. You lead through influence and build momentum behind things you don't directly control.
- You have a data-driven mindset. You bring evidence to your thinking and your strategies
- You are hands-on. You can move between setting direction and doing the work, depending on what the moment requires.
Perks of joining us:
- Company pension contributions at 5%.
- Individualised training budget for you to learn on the job and level yourself up.
- Discounted holidays for you, your family and friends.
- 25 days of holidays per annum (plus 8 public holidays) increases by 1 day for every second year of service, up to a maximum 30 days per annum.
- Ability to buy and sell annual leave.
- Cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan and eye care vouchers.
At loveholidays, we focus on developing an inclusive culture and environment that encourages personal growth and collective success. Each individual offers unique perspectives and ideas that increase the diversity and effectiveness of our teams. And we value the insight and potential you could bring on our continued journey.
The interview journey:
1. Intro to loveholidays with a member of the Talent team - 30 mins
2. 1st stage interview with CPO - 45 mins
3. 2nd stage - Culture and Values interview with CPO & CMO - 45-60 mins
4. Onsite Presentation - Present a product strategy case study to our CPO and other key stakeholders, followed by business stakeholder meets - 120 mins

Here at Humanoid, we believe in a future where robots amplify human potential. That’s why we’ve set out on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. We’re bringing that mission to life with HMND‑01 - our rapidly developed humanoid platform being deployed in real industrial environments - and we’re growing the team to take it even further.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Software Engineer to own the device software and data pipeline for our UMI data collection devices - handheld gripper systems used by human operators to demonstrate manipulation tasks. The data they produce is used to train our robots, so the quality of what you ship determines the quality of robots we deploy.
This is a deeply technical, hands-on role. You will write production-grade device software, build reliable sensor fusion and recording pipelines, and own the validation tooling that keeps our training datasets clean. You will work closely with hardware, AI, and data collection teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Develop and maintain device software across the full episode lifecycle: session initialisation, per-sensor stream management, episode recording, and graceful shutdown
- Integrate and synchronise sensor streams - wrist and head cameras, 6-DOF pose trackers, gripper aperture encoders, and optionally force/torque sensors - into temporally-aligned, policy-consumable trajectories
- Define and maintain the data contract between UMI devices and the AI team: stream formats, episode packaging, metadata schemas, and the interface between raw recordings and training pipelines
- Build and maintain data validation tooling that detects dropped frames, timing jitter, pose tracking loss, image quality degradation, and sensor faults before corrupt episodes enter the training dataset
- Own operator-facing device software: status indication, start/stop/cancel episode controls, and clear feedback when a session needs to be retried
- Support field data collection sessions - deploying devices to operators, validating data quality in situ, and iterating quickly when issues surface during collection
- Debug integration failures on device hardware: camera driver issues, bus bandwidth saturation, tracker calibration drift, compute thermal throttling, and storage write failures mid-episode
WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience in embedded or device-level software in a robotics or sensing context - writing code that runs on the device, not just talking to it
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for real-time sensor drivers, inter-process communication, and data recording pipelines
- Solid understanding of multi-modal sensor synchronisation - timestamps, hardware triggers, clock drift - and the practical consequences of getting it wrong for downstream ML
- Familiarity with camera pipelines and the difference between what a sensor reports and what actually lands on disk with correct timing
- Strong instincts around data quality and dataset hygiene - you are uncomfortable shipping episodes with frame drops, tracking loss, or misaligned streams
- Proven ability to debug on real hardware: you read logs, attach profilers, and can diagnose whether a problem is a driver, a bus, or a timing issue
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with 6-DOF pose tracking systems (VIO, optical trackers, or similar) and their common failure modes
- Familiarity with ML training data formats and what an AI team actually needs from a recorded episode - understanding the consumer of the data you produce
- Exposure to operator-facing tooling for data collection: session management, per-episode quality summaries, rejection and retry workflows
- Experience scaling device software from a small number of prototype units to many devices operated by non-engineers in the field
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive equity: stock options with meaningful upside as we scale.
- 30+ paid days off, including 23 days of annual leave, all UK bank holidays, and additional company closure days (including Christmas–New Year shutdown).
- Private healthcare, including virtual and in-person care.
- Pension scheme with 8% total contribution (5% employee, 3% employer) on full earnings.
- Free daily breakfast, catered lunch, and snacks in-office.
- Work at the frontier - collaborate daily with world-class engineers, researchers, and product experts building the next generation of AI and humanoid robotics.
- Real ownership - direct access to founding leadership, meaningful input on product direction, and the ability to drive key initiatives from day one.

The Head of Risk will be the accountable risk leader for the UK entity, responsible for ensuring that all material risks affecting UK clients, regulatory posture, and operational resilience are identified, assessed, monitored, and reported effectively. This is a broad role covering financial risk (excluding direct dealing oversight), operational risk, conduct risk, and third party/outsourcing risk.
A defining characteristic of this role is its operating model. Many core risk functions are delivered by the Group Risk team on an outsourced or shared services basis. The Head of Risk does not need to build and staff every capability locally. Instead, they must be skilled at managing outsourced service delivery: defining what the UK entity requires, holding Group Risk accountable for quality and timeliness, identifying gaps or conflicts between Group delivery and UK regulatory obligations, and escalating where service levels or outputs fall short.
This creates a dual mandate. The role holder must be a credible, senior risk professional who can engage substantively with risk content (frameworks, stress tests, MI, regulatory submissions). They must also be an effective governance operator who can manage intra group outsourcing relationships with the same rigour the FCA would expect for any outsourced critical or important function.
The role reports directly to the UK CEO with a functional dotted line to the Group CRO. The Head of Risk will be the primary risk voice in UK governance forums and the lead point of contact for FCA supervisory engagement on risk matters.
Responsibilities
UK Risk Accountability and Framework Ownership
Own the UK enterprise risk management framework end to end, ensuring it is proportionate, current, and aligned with FCA expectations under SYSC, PRIN, and Consumer Duty
Maintain the UK Risk Register with clear ownership, assessment methodology, defined review cycles, and escalation triggers
Own the UK risk management framework and RAS, translating Group risk appetite into UK specific decision boundaries that reflect local regulatory constraintsProvide independent 2nd line oversight and challenge to 1st line risk owners across operations, technology, client services, and commercial functions (excluding dealing, which reports separately)
Outsourced Risk Service Management
Act as the intelligent client for risk services delivered by the Group Risk team, including but not limited to: market risk monitoring, credit/counterparty risk assessment, quantitative risk modelling, stress testing, and risk MI production
Define and document what the UK entity requires from Group Risk in terms of scope, quality, timeliness, and regulatory standard, formalised through an intra group service level framework or equivalent
Monitor and challenge the quality and completeness of Group Risk outputs before they are used in UK governance forums, board packs, or regulatory submissions
Identify gaps between Group Risk delivery and UK specific regulatory requirements, and escalate where those gaps create risk to the UK entity’s compliance posture
Maintain an outsourcing risk assessment for Group Risk services consistent with FCA expectations for oversight of outsourced critical or important functions under SYSC 8
Ensure that the UK entity retains sufficient knowledge and capability locally to oversee outsourced risk functions, avoiding inappropriate dependency on Group without independent local scrutiny
Regulatory, Prudential, and Conduct Risk
Lead or substantively oversee the UK ICARA (Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment) process, coordinating with Group Risk and Group Finance on stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital/liquidity adequacy
Ensure market risk, credit/counterparty risk, and concentration risk are monitored and reported to a standard that meets MIFIDPRU requirements, whether produced locally or by Group
Integrate conduct risk assessment into product governance, pricing decisions, and client outcome monitoring in line with Consumer Duty (PRIN 2A)
Oversee operational risk including business continuity, IT resilience, and third party risk, ensuring the UK entity maintains visibility even where platforms and infrastructure are managed at Group level
Reporting and Management Information
Deliver risk MI to the UK Board, UK ExCo, and relevant governance committees on a defined cadence, with clear narrative on trends, near breaches, breaches, and required actions
Own and maintain Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) across all material risk domains, each with predefined thresholds and mandatory escalation actionsPrepare risk sections for board packs, regulatory returns, and FCA supervisory engagement materials
Critically assess risk MI received from Group Risk before presenting to UK governance forums, ensuring it accurately reflects UK specific exposures and is not simply a Group level aggregation
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for risk matters with the FCA during supervisory interactions, skilled persons reviews, and thematic exercises
Maintain effective working relationships with the Group CRO and Group Risk team, balancing collaborative alignment with independent challenge where UK interests diverge from Group priorities
Collaborate with the Head of Compliance (SMF16/17) to ensure clear delineation of 2nd line responsibilities with no gaps or duplication

Requirements
Substantial experience (typically 8+ years) in risk management within FCA regulated financial services, with demonstrable exposure to CFD, spread betting, or leveraged derivatives businesses
Deep working knowledge of FCA regulatory expectations for risk management under SYSC, PRIN, Consumer Duty (PRIN 2A), and MIFIDPRU prudential requirements

Experience with FCA expectations for oversight of outsourced critical or important functions under SYSC 8 and the FCA’s broader outsourcing and third party risk guidance (FG16/5)
Experience with CASS client money and asset requirements, particularly CASS 7 and CASS 6 audit processes
Familiarity with the Complaints, Claims, and Indemnity (CCI) regime under PS25/20
Professional qualifications: IRM Certificate/Diploma, FRM, PRM, or equivalent
