We’re looking for two Senior Full-Stack AI Engineers to help us develop Newton, Aghanim’s AI product for partners.
Newton is already a working product with an established architecture. Your role is to ship features across the backend and frontend, build new agent capabilities, and own the engineering quality of what you deliver.
You’ll work closely with product and design to understand what partners need, translate specifications into reliable software, and challenge requirements when something does not add up. Product direction, design, and infrastructure have dedicated owners, so your focus is engineering execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver features from specifications and designs to production, covering database schemas, APIs, agent capabilities, React interfaces, tests, and deployment.
- Build agent tools and skills, integrate with Aghanim’s Dashboard API, and access analytical data through the data gateway.

WHO ARE WE?
Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems.
We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
ABOUT NORTH
North is Cohere's agentic AI platform: it securely deploys AI agents and automations inside an organization's own infrastructure, combining generative and search models with customizable integrations to drive productivity at scale.
OVERVIEW
North is only as valuable as the systems it can reach - CRM, ITSM, productivity suites, data warehouses, knowledge stores, and identity. You'll own that integrations surface end to end.
It’s a dual mandate: own the integrations themselves (prioritize, ship, and drive adoption) and build the underlying platform capabilities they depend on when those don't yet exist.
OUTCOMES
- Family of integrations that are adopted and driving customer value, measured by usage and retention.
- Reusable, platform-level capabilities and a developer and partner on-ramp that scale across use cases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define the integration ecosystem strategy for North - roadmap, catalogue priorities, and partner posture - anchored to customer demand and revenue.
- Own North's integrations end to end, and partner with strategic customers to define transformative, integrations-based workflows.
- Derive generic, platform-level capabilities (connector framework, auth and identity, tool-use, data sync, permissioning) where they don't yet exist, partnering with the core-experience team on shared work.
- Collaborate with forward-deployed engineering to define how to evolve integration work into reusable product, to scope, sequence, and build it.
- Define the developer and partner experience (APIs, SDKs, plugin model, docs) and instrument analytics to track adoption, time-to-stand-up, and retention.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years in product management on platform / API, integrations, or developer / ecosystem products.
- Track record shipping integration, connector, or platform products with real impact on adoption, expansion, or retention.
- Experience working directly with high-stakes customers and ecosystem partners.
- Technical fluency with APIs, auth, data models, and integration architecture; comfortable with first-party vs. partner vs. self-serve tradeoffs.
- Analytical and metrics-first, and a strong cross-functional collaborator across engineering, design, and field / deployment teams.
- Experience with AI-first product management.
- Bias for shipping and iterating.
- Experience with a least a few domains of: Agentic AI, LLMs, Automation, Productivity, Enterprise security and compliance.
FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AT COHERE ENJOY THESE PERKS:

Education & learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
- 6 weeks of paid vacation (30 working days!)
- Budget for traveling to other offices if you are remote, plus an annual company offsite.
HOW AND WHERE WE WORK:
- Cohere is remote-friendly, but we also have offices in Toronto, London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul with more opening soon.
- For those in the office: a daily lunch program, plenty of snacks, and regular community and social events.
- For those not near an office: a co-working benefit so you can work alongside others in your city.
- Everyone receives a $500 home office stipend to set up your workspace properly.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Enterprise Knowledge Platform team builds the data and action layer that connects Perplexity's agents to the systems where enterprise work happens. Useful agents need more than access to APIs: they need to discover the right tools, understand an organization's data and terminology, and act reliably within its permissions. This team brings native connectors, MCP servers, and CLI-backed tools into a consistent platform, and builds the marketplace through which customers adopt integrations and partners extend the ecosystem.
This is a product and platform engineering role with end-to-end ownership, from designing connector infrastructure and semantic models to shipping the experiences customers use to discover, connect, and activate integrations. You'll build the runtime that executes tool calls, the knowledge layer that makes enterprise context reusable across connectors, and the developer and marketplace foundations that help the ecosystem grow. Working with AI Research and Enterprise teams, you'll turn fragmented systems into reliable, permission-aware capabilities that agents can use to complete real work. The impact is direct: every improvement helps customers put their existing software and knowledge to work through Perplexity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the connector runtime that registers, hosts, and executes native connectors, hosted MCP servers, and CLI-backed tools through a consistent agent-facing interface.
- Build the semantic and knowledge layer, including tool and entity schemas, capability metadata, relationships, organization-specific terminology, and reusable corrections, while preserving provenance and source-system permissions.
- Design discovery, search, and recommendation systems that help agents find relevant tools and context and help users and organizations choose integrations that fit their work.
- Build the marketplace and activation experience end to end, from browsing and recommendations to installation, configuration, admin enablement, and ongoing adoption.
- Make connector execution reliable and observable, with structured results, retries, idempotency, pagination, rate-limit handling, and recovery from partial failures. Own reliability targets, production monitoring, and incident response.
- Implement connector authentication, credential isolation, and permission enforcement, partnering with Trust & Governance, Security, and Backend Platform on shared policies and tenant boundaries.
- Build the onboarding and publishing path for internal teams and external partners, including schemas, test fixtures, validation, review, and versioning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of owning complex backend systems from design through production operation.
- Strong system design skills, including building reliable, scalable platforms that integrate heterogeneous APIs and services with clear security and isolation boundaries.
- Strong proficiency in a backend language such as Python, Go, or Rust, and hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Kubernetes.
- Deep expertise in at least one of the following:
- Connector runtimes, API platforms, or MCP servers, including authentication and authorization.
- Schema design, semantic modeling, or knowledge systems that capture relationships and organizational context.
- Search, ranking, recommendation, or tool discovery systems.
- Marketplaces, developer platforms, or enterprise onboarding and activation experiences.
- Ability to work across backend infrastructure and customer-facing product experiences, translating complex integration requirements into clear APIs, developer tools, and intuitive workflows.
- Sound technical judgment in security-sensitive, distributed systems, balancing credential isolation, permission correctness, and failure behavior with performance, usability, and delivery speed.
- A track record of leading ambiguous, cross-team initiatives from architecture through adoption, setting technical direction for shared platforms, and raising engineering quality through mentorship.
If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every qualification. We value demonstrated impact, deep ownership, and the initiative to turn ambiguity into results.
