Do you care about how things work under the hood and don't shy away from complex, interconnected systems? Do you know how to independently investigate problems, build reliable test coverage, and guide others in maintaining a high bar for quality?
About JetBrains
We create intelligent software development tools for developers and teams. More than 15 million users, over 300,000 companies, and 88 of the Fortune Global Top 100 rely on our products to solve real, complex problems. Our mission is simple: make development teams more productive and AI adoptable at scale.
What you’ll do
The Core team handles the foundational pieces of the IntelliJ Platform, including the editor, indexing, settings, and plugins. These systems are highly complex and used across all JetBrains IDEs, meaning your work directly impacts the daily workflows of millions of developers. You’ll take full ownership of the QA domain for this team, ensuring the stability of both established components and temporary cross-team projects. You’ll work closely with developers to investigate technical problems, coordinate testing efforts, and ensure we ship reliable, high-quality features.
Day to day, you will:
Develop and maintain UI, end-to-end, functional, and integration tests across Linux, Windows, and macOS.
Analyze test failures and track test coverage.
Test new functionality, focusing on complex scenarios, edge cases, and potential coverage gaps.
Improve test diagnostics, frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines to reduce flakiness and increase reliability.
Mentor a junior QA engineer by helping plan tasks, reviewing work, and answering technical questions.
Communicate risks, roadblocks, and investigation results clearly to the development team.
Own your QA domain end to end, proactively identifying priorities, planning your work, and driving quality initiatives.
What you’ll bring
A strong sense of ownership over the quality and stability of complex systems.
The ability to navigate incomplete requirements and find the information needed to move forward.
A practical approach to problem-solving, with a focus on resolving issues independently.
A collaborative mindset for working closely with developers and other cross-functional teams.
An eye for spotting risks, missing scenarios, and areas for process improvement.
A willingness to guide and support less-experienced engineers.
What you’ll need
An extensive background in software quality assurance and test automation.
Strong programming skills to develop, maintain, and debug UI tests.
Proficiency with testing frameworks like JUnit or TestNG.
The proven ability to investigate and troubleshoot failures across products, infrastructure, and environments.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
What success looks like
You’ve established a reliable, stable testing infrastructure for the Core team, significantly reducing test flakiness and improving diagnostic capabilities. You proactively identify quality risks before releases, keep developers unblocked, and ensure the junior engineers you mentor are confidently taking on more complex tasks.

- Proven ability to originate, develop, negotiate, and close high-value enterprise opportunities with measurable commercial impact and recurring long-term client value.
- Position Blockstream as a credible long-term infrastructure partner within institutional financial markets.
Enterprise Solution Engagement & Delivery Oversight
- Partner closely with clients to shape customized enterprise solutions leveraging Bitcoin infrastructure, Layer-2 technologies, digital asset platforms, and interoperability capabilities.
- Lead strategic solution discussions across business, operational, compliance, and technical domains.
- Oversee enterprise implementation programs and ensure alignment between client expectations, commercial objectives, and delivery realities.
- Support the growth and adoption of Liquid and Lightning ecosystems by helping institutions understand practical use cases, operational value, and integration opportunities.
- Navigate highly regulated enterprise environments with professionalism, structure, and strong stakeholder management.
- Balance client expectations, commercial constraints, and delivery execution while maintaining high-quality enterprise engagement throughout all phases of the client lifecycle.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing enterprise business development and client engagement organization across EMEA.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, delivery, legal, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure successful enterprise outcomes.
- Serve as the strategic bridge between enterprise clients and internal teams, ensuring client feedback informs product evolution, market positioning, and delivery priorities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer obsession, commercial excellence, and execution focus.

Principal Mechanical Engineer – Platform Integration
An advanced aerospace and defense technology company is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the integration of ruggedized sensor and electronics systems onto large mobile platforms for government and defense applications.
This role is focused on translating advanced sensing and electronics technologies into durable, field-deployable systems capable of surviving demanding operational environments across vehicle, trailer, and maritime platforms.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience with mechanical integration, ruggedized hardware design, environmental survivability, and large-scale platform constraints. This is a highly hands-on engineering role requiring practical judgment, systems thinking, and the ability to identify integration risks before they become field failures.
Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical integration of multi-sensor and electronics systems onto mobile ground, trailer-mounted, and maritime platforms
Define and manage mechanical interfaces between electronics packages, structural systems, mounting hardware, and vehicle platforms
Develop ruggedization strategies for vibration, thermal exposure, dust, sand, corrosion, and harsh environmental conditions
Design sensor mounts, enclosures, brackets, and support structures optimized for durability, serviceability, and field deployment
Support environmental qualification efforts including shock, vibration, thermal, and environmental testing
Collaborate closely with electrical, manufacturing, systems, and program teams throughout development and integration activities
Create and manage interface control documentation (ICDs), installation requirements, alignment strategies, and tolerancing schemes
Evaluate installation constraints and field-maintenance considerations across complex deployment environments
Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of integration or survivability issues discovered during testing or deployment
Provide technical mentorship and integration guidance across multidisciplinary engineering teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
10+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or ruggedized platform integration environments
Demonstrated experience integrating electronics, sensors, or mission systems onto large mobile platforms such as vehicles, trailers, ships, or other deployable systems
Strong understanding of ruggedized mechanical design principles including vibration isolation, thermal management, sealing, shock loading, and environmental survivability
Experience designing to environmental qualification standards such as MIL-STD-810
Strong CAD proficiency with experience managing large assemblies and mechanical interfaces
Experience developing installation approaches, tolerancing strategies, interface definitions, and integration documentation
Practical hands-on engineering mindset with strong troubleshooting and systems integration capability
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced development environments
U.S. citizenship preferred; ability to obtain a security clearance is strongly preferred
Preferred Experience
Multi-spectral sensor system integration including EO/IR, radar, RF, or ISR-related hardware
Vehicle, maritime, naval, or trailer-mounted defense platform integration experience
Thermal management design for electronics operating in extreme ambient environments
Experience designing vibration isolation systems and shock mitigation approaches
Familiarity with FEA and structural analysis tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or ABAQUS
Experience supporting environmental testing, qualification, and field deployment activities
Knowledge of military connectors, ruggedized cabling, and harsh-environment electrical integration
Background working with government or defense platform programs
Experience bridging electronics packaging requirements with large structural integration constraints
What Makes This Opportunity Unique
This role sits at the intersection of advanced sensing technology, ruggedized mechanical design, and large-platform system integration.
The company is looking for someone who has real-world experience solving difficult integration problems — not just designing isolated hardware components. The right candidate will bring practical engineering judgment, field-tested lessons learned, and the ability to anticipate problems before they become expensive redesigns.
You’ll play a key role in helping transform advanced sensing systems into deployable, mission-ready platforms operating in demanding environments.
