Location: Espoo; Berlin
Workplace: Hybrid
ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Senior/Staff Platform Observability Engineer
- Location: Espoo, Finland / Berlin, Germany
- Department: Platform & Release Engineering
- Employment type: Permanent
- Workplace model: Hybrid
- Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO,)
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
As a Platform Observability Engineer, you’ll make the health of ICEYE’s systems visible, actionable, and reliable. You’ll build and evolve the observability foundation across metrics, logs, and traces, helping teams detect issues early, understand failures faster, and operate their services with confidence. Your work will go beyond dashboards and alerts. You’ll reduce operational noise, eliminate blind spots, and give product teams the tools and autonomy to run reliable services.
WHO WE ARE
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own and continuously improve a unified, production-grade observability stack covering metrics, logs, and traces, giving every team a consistent, self-service way to understand and operate the health of their services.
- Build and maintain trusted alerting by tuning alerts against clear SLOs/SLIs, reducing noise, improving ownership and ensuring real issues surface early.
- Define, document, and drive adoption of instrumentation standards covering metric naming, label cardinality, structured logging, and distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry.
- Enable product teams to diagnose and resolve incidents faster through well-designed dashboards, runbooks, hands-on support, and practical observability guidance.
- Run the observability platform like a product, owning its roadmap, interfaces, reliability, scalability, and cost across areas such as retention, sampling, and cardinality.
- Provide clear technical direction for observability across the engineering organisation, making pragmatic architectural trade-offs and helping teams adopt platform capabilities effectively.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must haves:
1. Observability platform ownership at scale
6+ years in Platform Engineering, Observability, or infrastructure roles, with end-to-end ownership of a production observability stack (for example the LGTM stack - Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir/Prometheus - or an equivalent metrics/logs/traces platform) at scale.
- Instrumentation & telemetry: OpenTelemetry adoption, metric and label design, structured logging, and distributed tracing across complex, multi-team systems.
- SLO/SLI & error budgets: dashboards and alerting that surface real problems early while minimizing noise and false positives.
- Platform as a product: treating other engineering teams as customers, with clear interfaces and a roadmap shaped by their needs.
- Alerting & reliability attitude: comfortable with on-call, driving blameless learning from incidents, and continuously tuning signal quality instead of letting alert fatigue set in.
2. Software engineering foundation
- A background that includes time spent writing and shipping production software, bringing engineering instincts to building tooling and automation rather than only operating what already exists.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (for example Python or Go) for automation, tooling, and building internal observability capabilities.
3. Long-term ownership of your own decisions
Demonstrated experience owning the long-term consequences of your own architectural and tooling decisions - having lived with what you built through its maintenance, upgrades, and failure modes, not just its initial rollout.
4. Communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, able to explain complex system behavior clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to haves:
1. Platform & telemetry breadth
- Rancher, Istio, and Kubernetes-native observability patterns (service mesh telemetry, sidecars, eBPF-based tooling).
- Bridging hybrid environments across AWS and on-prem platforms such as vSphere/VxRail.
- Managing cost and cardinality on large-scale telemetry pipelines (retention policies, sampling, downsampling).
2. Practices that spread beyond your own team
- Defining SLO/SLI frameworks or observability standards adopted across multiple teams.
- Running or contributing to incident response and blameless postmortem processes.
- Mentoring engineers and raising engineering maturity through technical leadership and enablement.
3. Domain context
Background in regulated, security-sensitive, or mission-critical domains.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Recruiter interview
- Hiring manager interview
- Task Assignment + Technical interview
- Stakeholder interview
- Behavioural interview to assess cultural fit

You'll join the Engineering department and work directly with customers as they encounter edge cases. You'll dig into Linux systems, logs, and our Ruby on Rails codebase to troubleshoot performance issues, reproduce bugs, and contribute merge requests that fix problems at the source.
You'll also improve our documentation, refine support processes in our issue tracker, and collaborate closely with Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success, and Sales so customer feedback directly shapes our roadmap. In your first year, you'll build deep expertise across a range of GitLab implementations, strengthen our ability to keep customers productive on both self-managed GitLab and GitLab.com software as a service, and help create tools and content that make support more efficient and effective for the entire team.
Some examples of our projects:
A tool to automatically check a GitLab Omnibus install for known issues

A tool which turns log files into interactive tables to easily sort and filter columns
A ChatOps feature that makes it easier to identify user accounts on GitLab.com
What you’ll do
Act as an escalation point for difficult customer interactions and lead the resolution of complex issues through Zendesk tickets, merge requests, email, and video calls.
Mentor and guide teammates on complex troubleshooting and customer communication through pairing sessions and cross-team collaboration.
Advocate for and drive improvements to support practices, product quality, and reusable documentation and support content that directly influence team objectives.
Collaborate with Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success, and Sales teams to shape product goals, roadmaps, and priorities while driving fixes and new features.
Participate in regular weekday and weekend on-call rotations during daytime hours, providing emergency support for self-managed GitLab and software as a service customers and coordinating incident communications with the GitLab.com Production team.
Participate in hiring by reviewing applications and assessments and joining interviews to help grow the Support team.
What you’ll bring
Experience owning complex, customer-facing technical cases from initial contact through triage, reproduction, bug reporting, resolution, and clear customer communication, including difficult or escalated interactions.
Strong experience with Linux systems administration, scripting, Git, and continuous integration and continuous delivery in production or customer environments, with the ability to investigate issues at both the infrastructure and application levels.
Ability to mentor teammates on complex troubleshooting and customer communication through pairing sessions, case reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to turn customer feedback into product fixes, feature improvements, and roadmap priorities.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and technologies such as Kubernetes and serverless computing, and an understanding of how different GitLab implementations operate and affect customers.
Demonstrated ability to learn, collaborate across teams, and apply transferable skills from related technical support or engineering roles.
Fluent Korean language skills (required)

Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.

- Serve as a technical subject matter expert, proactively identifying risks and advising leadership on tax implications of special projects.
- Direct all U.S. federal, state, local, GAAP, and SEC tax reporting requirements; prepare and review quarterly and year-end tax provisions, journal entries, and reconciliations.

- Oversee and manage key global tax compliance requirements, ensuring timely and accurate filings, withholding tax obligations, transfer pricing documentation, and multi-jurisdictional reporting.
- Develop and execute audit defense strategies supported by robust technical documentation.
- Advise leadership on controversy risk, audit developments, and resolution strategies, including financial statement implications (e.g., FIN 48).
- Partner closely with Legal, FP&A, Accounting, and Treasury to assist in implementing tax-efficient global structures while ensuring compliance.
- Build tax forecasts and reporting cadences that support leadership decision-making.
- Mentor a high-performing tax team through day-to-day guidance and coaching, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and accountability.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or Master of Taxation is preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive tax experience across public accounting and/or in-house at a multinational, high-growth company.
- Hands-on experience with preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions.
- Experience reviewing tax due diligence materials or supporting M&A transactions from a tax perspective.
- Extensive experience in financial reporting, internal controls, tax compliance, and audits.
- Experience partnering effectively across Accounting, Finance, Legal, Treasury, and business stakeholders to solve complex tax and operational problems.
- Proven ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity, review complex technical work, and deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
- Public company experience, including exposure to SEC reporting, SOX controls, and 10-Q/10-K tax disclosures.
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

- Has a track record of shipping high-quality, on-brand work fast and independently, managing multiple concurrent requests from different stakeholders (product marketing, growth, brand, dotcom)
- Has sharp taste and an eye for polish, but treats that taste as being in service of clarity and reusability, not personal authorship
- Is a clear, proactive communicator who is comfortable managing intake from multiple teams and setting expectations on scope and timelines
Nice to have:
- Experience building or maintaining a shared asset/component library for cross-team reuse
- Experience working with financial services or other regulated-industry marketing content
- Familiarity with social-first video formats and platforms
If you're excited about this role, along with your resume, send us a portfolio or reel that shows:
- Examples of product UI you've translated into marketing/education content
- At least one motion or video piece you led end-to-end
- How you've worked across product, marketing, and creative stakeholders to ship something quickly

WHO ARE WE?
Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems.
We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
As the Senior Director of Solutions Architecture for Asia Pacific at Cohere, you will own Solutions Architecture across the region. Our customers here are banks, telcos, industrials and governments who cannot send their data to someone else’s cloud, and who are past experimenting and into production. You will lead the team that makes those deployments real, and you will be accountable for the technical win across the region.
This is a build. Today a Solutions Architecture team covers Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. You will own that team, grow it, and build the in-region depth this market needs. You will be expected to open doors on your own credibility and network from your first weeks, set direction for the function, sit on the Solution Architecture leadership team alongside the regional leaders for the Americas and EMEA, and contribute to company-wide decisions with your peers across Sales, Product and Engineering.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Build and Lead the Team: Hire, coach and develop the Asia Pacific Solutions Architecture organization, and establish in-region depth rather than relying on support flown in from other regions.
- Open Doors Across the Region: Bring industry knowledge, technical credibility and an existing network to get Cohere into strategic accounts quickly. This is the central expectation of the role and you should expect to be measured on it.
- Own the Technical Win: Be personally accountable for the technical outcome of the region’s most strategic pursuits, and be in the room for the ones that decide the year.
- Set Direction for the Function: Define the vision, strategy, coverage model and operating rhythm for Asia Pacific Solutions Architecture across three markets that buy differently and regulate differently.
- Architect Sovereign and Regulated Deployments: Lead customers into secure, scalable, production-ready agentic AI deployments across cloud, hybrid, VPC, on-premises and air-gapped environments, which is where much of this region’s demand sits.
- Build Repeatable Solution Practices: Establish scalable solution-selling methodologies, industry playbooks, executive narratives, business cases and technical delivery frameworks that improve consistency and win rates.
- Partner with Regional Sales Leadership: Own territory, coverage and pipeline jointly with the Asia Pacific sales leader, and be accountable for the number together.
- Shape Product Direction: Partner closely with Product and Engineering to translate Asia Pacific customer needs into platform improvements and roadmap priorities. You will be one of a handful of people who can tell our product organization what this region actually requires.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and develop the Asia Pacific Solutions Architecture team through hiring, coaching, performance management and career development.
- Partner with regional Sales leadership to pursue and close strategic enterprise opportunities across financial services, telecommunications, industrials, technology and the public sector.
- Establish and own the regional coverage model across Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia, and make the case for where the team grows next.
- Lead executive workshops, discovery sessions, solution presentations and technical deep dives with C-suite and senior customer stakeholders.
- Develop business cases, solution architectures, implementation roadmaps and technical proposals that align customer objectives with Cohere’s platform.
- Guide customers through the deployment of enterprise AI solutions, ensuring scalability, security, governance, data residency and operational readiness.
- Create repeatable solution assets, industry playbooks and best practices that enable the team to consistently deliver high-quality customer engagements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales and Customer Success to ensure alignment between customer needs and platform evolution, and contribute to decisions that reach beyond your own function.
- Serve as the voice of the region by capturing customer feedback and competitive insights that influence product strategy.
- Own and report on the region’s operational and commercial metrics, including technical win rates, pipeline health, coverage and team performance.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Leadership Experience: 15+ years in Solutions Architecture, Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting or Enterprise Architecture, including 7+ years leading customer-facing technical teams, and a record of developing people into senior and leadership roles.
- Regional Depth and Network: You have built or run a technical organization across more than one Asia Pacific market, you understand how enterprise technology is actually bought in each of them, and you have a network of senior technical and executive relationships you are willing to be measured on.
- People Leadership: A proven record of hiring, coaching and developing high-performing Solutions Architecture or Solutions Engineering teams, including building a team in-region from a small base.
- Hands-On Technical Credibility: You are technical enough to be believed by a strong engineering bench. You have put real AI systems into production, you can pressure-test your team’s architecture, and you can be the most useful person in a design conversation when it matters. We care far more about what you have deployed, and what broke, than about which models you can name.
- Commercial Acumen: A demonstrated ability to partner with enterprise Sales leadership, influence strategic deals, and articulate business value to executive stakeholders. You have carried a number and can point to deals you personally moved.
- Executive Presence: You command a room. You are credible in front of a CEO and their business leaders as well as a Chief Information Officer, a Chief AI Officer or a Chief Information Security Officer, and you can move between the business case and the architecture without losing either audience.
- Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of modern AI architectures, including large language models, agentic systems, retrieval, enterprise integrations, cloud platforms, hybrid and on-premises deployments, security and governance.
- Enterprise Experience: Experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions in complex, regulated or large-scale environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience building an AI, machine learning or data science function inside a large regulated enterprise, and taking it into production.
- Depth in Asia Pacific financial services, telecommunications or the public sector.
- Experience deploying into environments where the customer controls the infrastructure, including on-premises, sovereign and air-gapped deployments.
- Background in enterprise AI, cloud, or data platform companies, or applied AI consulting organizations.
- Experience building repeatable solution-selling methodologies and helping generalist technical teams operate at a consistently high level.
- Working proficiency in a regional language in addition to English.
