ABOUT AVOCA
Avoca is transforming how home service companies engage with their customers. Our AI-powered conversational agents handle every high-value inbound call, from booking jobs, qualifying leads, and driving higher revenue, all at a speed and consistency unmatched by human call centers.
We're a Series B startup backed by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, General Catalyst, and other top-tier investors, with $125M raised and a $1B valuation. We grew 10x in 2025 and have scaled to 170+ employees in under two years across our NYC headquarters and Santa Barbara office.
In a $1T+ market where 85% of missed calls go to competitors, we're building the category-defining platform for AI-driven customer engagement, serving the largest brands in home services. With high-energy, in-office teams in both locations, every hire here has an immediate and visible impact.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an Agent Product Manager to own one of our core product lines and drive it from discovery through deployment.
This is not a generalist PM role. You'll go deep on a specific product area, working directly with engineering, design partners, and customers to understand what needs to be built, why, and how to ship it in a way that scales. You'll be the connective tissue between customer reality and engineering execution, synthesizing feedback from CSMs, TAMs, and customers into clear, actionable product requirements.
The best fit here is someone who obsesses over product longevity, not just individual customer happiness, and who can build rapidly, think in systems, and translate ambiguity into clear direction.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Product Line Strategy
- Own one or more product lines end-to-end, from discovery through delivery and iteration
- Define product roadmaps grounded in real deployment data and customer feedback, not feature requests
- Prioritize ruthlessly between customer-specific asks and platform-wide improvements
- Establish clear boundaries on what the product can and cannot do, and ensure sales and CS teams understand them
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Bridge the gap between sales promises and engineering reality, guide sales on which features to pitch, which customer profiles to target, and what realistic timelines look like
- Work with engineering to shift from one-off custom builds to iterative, productized solutions
- Collaborate with support to build self-service tooling that eliminates manual configuration bottlenecks
- Own the feedback loop: ensure customer insights reach engineering as structured product requirements, not ad hoc requests
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 3 to 6 years of product management experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or AI-enabled products
- Strong ability to synthesize qualitative customer feedback into structured, engineering-ready requirements
- Experience working directly with customers or design partners in a product capacity
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and competing priorities across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams
- Familiarity with AI, LLMs, or conversational AI systems, or a strong ability to ramp quickly
- Outcome-driven: you measure success in shipped impact, not process followed
- Low ego, high energy, resilient in a fast-paced environment
- Bonus: experience with enterprise deployments, multi-location operators, or platform infrastructure
- Eagerness to work in person with us in NYC full time
BENEFITS
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Company-sponsored 401(k) through Vestwell
- Flexible PTO plus U.S. federal holidays
- Daily in-office lunch through Parkday
- Monthly wellness stipend
- Dinner covered when working late
- Commuter benefits
- Standing desks and workspace accommodations available on request
- All core tools and software provided

About the role
As a Solutions Architect on the Field Engineering team, you'll be the trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers across pre-sales and post-sales, for teams running AI and web workloads on Vercel. You'll qualify technical fit, design future-state architectures, and run evaluations and proofs of concept before the deal, then guide adoption as lead architect after it, bringing in Professional Services, Developer Success, Product, and Engineering when customers need them. This is a hybrid role based in Austin, New York City, or San Francisco, with three days a week in the office.
What you'll do
Lead technical discovery with Sales, qualify use cases, and design target architectures for AI agents and web applications on Vercel
Own proofs of concept (POCs) and pilots end to end: set success criteria, guide implementation, and document outcomes for executive buyers
Build and deliver tailored demos, technical presentations, and workshops for developer and executive audiences
Act as lead architect post-sale for strategic accounts, guiding onboarding, reference implementations, and migrations, and tuning performance with Core Web Vitals and observability data
Run customer security, compliance, and architecture reviews, and feed recurring field gaps back to Product and Engineering
What you need
5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions architect, sales engineer, or platform architect, working with web or cloud platforms
Hands-on JavaScript and TypeScript experience, including reviewing production application code built with Next.js, React, or another modern framework
Designed enterprise architectures covering web performance, caching, networking, and security on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Ran technical evaluations or POCs on enterprise deals with both executive and developer stakeholders
Bonus if you
Built and shipped an AI-powered application or agent, for example with the AI SDK
Led a large-scale migration to a cloud-native or composable architecture (headless CMS, commerce, identity)
Supported customer security reviews against SOC 2, PCI DSS, or HIPAA

Govern changes to architectural artefacts and ensure systems conform to established data architecture guidelines
