About the Role
OKX is looking for a Senior Director of AI to lead both people and product — building and managing a high-calibre AI team while staying deeply involved in the design, evaluation, and production deployment of autonomous agent systems. This role calls for a leader who leads by doing: technically grounded, sharp on product judgment, and able to translate both into tangible business outcomes.
What You'll Do
Team Leadership
— Build, manage, and develop a team of AI engineers and researchers; own hiring, growth, and performance across the function
Agent Product Delivery
— Lead end-to-end delivery of autonomous AI Agent products, covering the full lifecycle from requirements and architecture through to production operations
Eval-Driven Development
— Establish benchmark-driven evaluation frameworks that replace manual iteration with quantifiable quality signals across agent systems
Agent Harness Design
— Design and implement end-to-end Agent Harness infrastructure to ensure agent stability and reliability in complex, real-world scenarios
LLM
Orchestration
— Orchestrate creative reasoning steps alongside deterministic guardrails, finding the right balance between flexibility and control
Engineering Workflow Integration
— Embed AI Agent capabilities deeply into core products and engineering pipelines, improving both developer productivity and business value
Cross-functional Alignment
— Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure technical direction stays tightly aligned with strategic priorities
What We're Looking For
Must-have
Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (PhD preferred)
10+ years of experience in AI/ML research, productization, or platform development, including core technical or leadership roles at globally recognized technology companies
Deep expertise in LLMs and Generative AI, deep learning, reinforcement learning, recommendation systems, and related areas
Proven track record of translating AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes
End-to-end delivery experience with autonomous AI Agent products, from inception and architecture through to production operations
Hands-on experience integrating AI deeply into engineering and development workflows — such as AI coding assistants, automated code review, or developer productivity tooling
Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required to collaborate across our multilingual, cross-regional teams
Nice to have
Background at an AI-native startup or frontier AI lab, with familiarity with fast-cycle product iteration
AI publications, patents, or industry-recognized technical contributions
Familiarity with the unique technical challenges of applying AI in crypto, fintech, or high-frequency data environments

Tempo is a layer-1 blockchain purpose-built for stablecoins and real-world payments, born from Stripe’s experience in global payments and Paradigm’s expertise in crypto tech.
Tempo’s payment-first design provides a scalable, low-cost predictable backbone that meets the needs of high-volume payment use cases. Our goal is to move money reliably, cheaply, and at scale. Our north star is simplicity for users: fintechs, traditional banks, merchants, platforms, and anyone else looking to move their payments into the 21st century.
We're building Tempo with design partners who are global leaders in AI, e-commerce, and financial services: Anthropic, Coupang, Deutsche Bank, DoorDash, Mercury, Nubank, OpenAI, Revolut, Shopify, Standard Chartered, Visa, and more.
We’re a team of crypto-optimists, building the infrastructure needed to bring real, substantial economic flows onchain. We like to move fast and swing for the fences — join us!
THE ROLE
You'll build Tempo's partnerships function from the ground up — designing and executing 1:many partnership motions across infra, ecosystem, and SI partners that drive enterprise adoption of Tempo. This is a foundational GTM hire with direct impact on how the largest companies in the world onboard into crypto.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build Tempo's partnerships strategy and playbook from zero — infra partners, ecosystem partners, system integrators, and beyond
- Identify, negotiate, and close large strategic partnerships that generate meaningful pipeline
- Design scalable 1:many partnership structures, not one-off deals
- Drive revenue through partner-sourced and partner-influenced deals
- Work directly with product and engineering to scope partnership integrations and co-build opportunities
- Represent Tempo externally at the highest levels — partner exec teams, industry events, ecosystem forums
- Stand up the operational infrastructure for partnerships: tracking, reporting, partner enablement
- Collaborate closely with Tempo's GTM team to align partnerships with direct sales and enterprise motions
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years in partnerships, BD, or GTM roles with demonstrated quota or pipeline ownership
- Deep domain expertise in stablecoins, payments, or fintech infrastructure
- Proven track record building scaled partnership programs — not just inheriting them
- Experience structuring and closing complex, multi-stakeholder strategic deals
- Familiarity with crypto infrastructure, blockchain ecosystems, or enterprise crypto adoption
- Comfortable operating as a founding function owner with no existing playbook
- Based in or willing to be in New York
