How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are looking for a Director, IT SOX to join the Internal Audit team at Anthropic. In this role, you will be a hands-on technical contributor and key executor of our IT SOX compliance program, with deep focus on our IT General Controls, IT Application Controls, and system risk assessments.
This role reports to the Head of IT SOX and is well-suited for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, thrives in a high-pace environment, and enjoys solving problems that don't yet have industry-standard answers. This is a high-impact opportunity to collaborate with first and second lines of defense to help establish a control environment suitable for an AI-first company! You will act as a trusted advisor to Engineering, GRC, Security and Finance teams on the technology controls adapted to a fast growing and rapidly changing organization.
You'll bring technical depth, a bias toward automation, and the ability to partner effectively with both technical teams and external auditors as the organization experiences scaling to public-company standards.
Key responsibilities
Advise on the design of a control environment fit for an AI-first company, including controls over highly automated DevOps pipelines and emerging agentic identity models
Partner with Engineering, Security, IT, and DevOps teams to assess the design and implementation of scalable and sustainable controls
Assess new system implementations and changes
Identify automation and tooling opportunities to improve control efficiency and monitoring, and contribute to the development of continuous monitoring capabilities
Assist in scoping and planning for annual SOX IT assessments
Execute IT SOX testing across IT General Controls and IT Application Controls, including access management, change management, and computer operations
Perform system and process risk assessments to identify control gaps and recommend remediation
Own control documentation and ensure audit-ready evidence is current and complete
Evaluate IT automated controls and support the shift from manual to automated control reliance
Scale the IT SOX program as the company grows — rationalizing scope, standardizing testing approaches, and building repeatable processes that keep pace with new systems and entities
Guide and direct the day-to-day work of internal team members and co-sourced partners: setting priorities, reviewing workpapers, and ensuring quality and consistency across the testing program
Build strong working relationships with process and control owners across the organization
Translate technical control requirements for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa
Support SEC cybersecurity disclosure requirements and related risk monitoring efforts
Coordinate with external auditors on IT SOX matters, including evidence requests, walkthroughs, and testing schedules
Track and assist with remediation of audit findings; communicate status to the Head of IT SOX and relevant stakeholders
Minimum qualifications
Hands-on IT audit or IT SOX compliance experience, ideally in a fast-paced technology environment
Deep working knowledge of ITGCs, ITACs, and IT risk assessment methodologies
Experience auditing highly automated DevOps environments (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated deployments) and adapting traditional change-management and access controls to them
Experience designing, testing, and documenting controls across access management, change management, and computer operations
Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and the ability to operate effectively in a high-pace, rapidly changing environment
Ability to effectively guide and direct the work of internal team members and/or co-sourced partners
Ability to work independently on complex, ambiguous workstreams while communicating proactively with senior stakeholders
Strong project management and organizational skills with close attention to detail
Clear, effective communicator — able to work across technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred qualifications
12+ years of hands-on IT audit and SOX compliance experience, including time in a Big 4 or comparable environment
Hands-on experience with cloud environments (GCP, AWS, and/or Azure)
Experience scaling a compliance program to public-company standards
Track record of scaling an audit or SOX program through periods of rapid growth
Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Workday, Salesforce, or GitHub
Experience evaluating SDLC controls in modern software development environments
CISA, CIA, CISSP, CPA, or equivalent certification
Genuine enthusiasm for working in an AI-first environment — applying AI to audit work itself and rethinking assumptions about how controls operate when AI is embedded in the processes being audited

As Anthropic's Public Sector Sales Lead for France, you will be the face of Anthropic to the French State. This is a founding, zero-to-one role: there is no public sector team in France today, and you will build our strategy, our routes to market and our first strategic relationships from the ground up. Reporting to our EMEA South leadership, you will lead the adoption of safe, frontier AI across central government, starting with the largest ministries. You will work hand in hand with our Public Policy lead in Paris, because in few companies is policy as central to the mission as it is at Anthropic, and with Partnerships, Legal, Security and Product to put in place the commercial and compliance frameworks the State needs in order to work with us at scale.
This is a senior individual contributor role. We expect you to have run a public sector business and led teams, and to be energised by stepping back into a hands-on seat where you build it yourself and where the size of your team says nothing about the size of your scope. In the first year, success is measured less by a large number and more by putting Anthropic on the map with the French State: a clear strategy, the right foundations and our first strategic agreements.
Responsibilities
Define and own Anthropic's public sector go-to-market strategy for France: where we play first, how we win, and what we need to build to get there
Be the senior face of Anthropic to the French State, building trusted relationships with ministerial cabinets, senior officials and digital and technology leaders across the largest ministries, including defence, finance and justice
Own the full sales cycle on our first strategic public sector opportunities, from first engagement through procurement route, close, deployment and expansion
Work with Partnerships, Legal and Finance to put in place the routes to market the State needs, including resale and partner channels, framework agreements and central purchasing bodies such as UGAP
Partner day to day with our Public Policy lead in France so that commercial and policy engagement reinforce each other, and stay aligned with French and European AI strategy and regulation
Lead the conversation with customers on data sovereignty, security and compliance (for example SecNumCloud and the State's cloud doctrine), and work with Security, Legal and Product on how we meet those requirements
Prove value with customers alongside a shared Applied AI architect, cloud providers and systems integrators, doing much of the groundwork yourself in the early stages
Learn from and contribute to our UK and US public sector teams, bringing what works to France and sharing what you learn
Create the playbooks, references and operating rhythm that will let us scale a public sector team in France over time
You may be a good fit if you have
15+ years in enterprise technology sales, including significant time running a public sector business unit or leading sales teams that sell to French central government
The appetite to move from a leadership role into a hands-on senior individual contributor role with no team at the outset
Evidence that you thrive building from zero: a new market, a new business line or an early-stage company, where systems, processes and support were not yet in place
A track record of landing large, complex and genuinely transformative agreements with major ministries, as the person leading the deal
A deep, senior network across central government, and the credibility to engage at director and cabinet level as well as with technical teams
Practical command of French public procurement, including tenders, framework agreements, central purchasing bodies and partner or resale routes
Real expertise in data sovereignty, security and compliance requirements in the French State, and experience leading those conversations with customers
Experience of, or a clear aptitude for, working closely with public policy or government affairs colleagues
Ownership and resilience: you treat what is missing as something to build, and you bring colleagues with you to build it
The technical curiosity to learn our products in depth and hold credible conversations with both engineering leaders and senior officials
Fluent French and English, with excellent written and spoken communication in both
Willingness to go through French security clearance (habilitation) should specific accounts require it
A genuine commitment to safe and beneficial AI, and the ability to articulate why it matters for public institutions

Anthropic’s APAC go-to-market organisation is the fastest-growing part of our international business, spanning markets with distinct languages, cultures and buying styles. Today, enablement for the region is delivered by our global and EMEA teams. As we scale in APAC, we are establishing an initial in-region enablement presence, based in Sydney and supporting the field across the region.
As Enablement Lead, you will be hands-on in getting the APAC field ready: onboarding, ongoing skill development, manager coaching support and launch readiness, across GTM functions, not just sales. You will spend most of your time in the room, running sessions, building programmes and working directly with sellers and managers, in the time zones and languages where customer conversations happen.
This is a build role with a global spine. You inherit a working global and international enablement engine. Your job is to adapt it for APAC, deliver it across the region, and feed what you learn back into the international and global programme.
How we work: adults learn by doing, so we build sessions around live activity: practice, reflection, real customer scenarios. The measure is not what was covered in the room. It is what changes a week later in how people think, decide and sell.
This takes creativity and a solid understanding of how adults learn, applied at speed. The frontier moves quickly and the field is scaling fast. Much of the work is unlearning: helping experienced sellers let go of pre-AI habits, not just teaching new ones. AI is what makes this scalable: endless practice partners, personalised scenarios from real deals, feedback minutes after a call. You will use it that way, not to generate more content.
Key responsibilities
Set up the APAC enablement rhythm: in-region onboarding cohorts, live practice-based sessions in APAC time zones, and a feedback loop into the global programme
Adapt the international portfolio for APAC, where content for several markets needs to be written and translated ahead of delivery
Personally design and facilitate deal walkthroughs, role-plays and customer-conversation rehearsal, favouring practice over presentation
Partner with regional GTM leaders to build a coaching standard that scales as the manager layer grows
Own launch readiness for the region, so that when a new model or product ships, the APAC field is certified and conversation-ready in the same week cycle as everyone else
Build the measurement habit: track what the field does differently afterwards, not content shipped or attendance
Minimum qualifications
8+ years in GTM enablement, sales productivity or similar roles, including experience leading or running enablement programmes
Experience delivering GTM enablement in APAC, ideally across more than one of the region’s markets
Experience influencing beyond your own team or region, such as a programme adopted elsewhere or a senior stakeholder whose decision you changed
Hands-on track record designing and running practice-first enablement, measured by changes in field behaviour
A working understanding of how adults learn, and comfort helping experienced sellers unlearn pre-AI habits
Creativity with AI in your craft: personalised practice, real-deal scenarios and fast feedback rather than more content
Experience owning programmes end to end, from design through delivery and measurement
Experience enabling a field across languages and cultures, and knowing what breaks when English-first content ships as-is
Comfort working with sales leaders as a peer, including pipeline reviews, deal inspection and forecast conversations
Good judgement on when to adapt global programmes and when to adopt them as-is
Strong candidates may also
Have held both a global and an APAC enablement role
Have run enablement delivered across multiple APAC markets
Have helped build or scale an enablement function
Have carried a quota or led sellers earlier in their career
Have enablement experience in AI, developer platforms or technical products sold to both executives and builders
Have built manager or coaching programmes, not just individual-contributor enablement
