Location: United States + International (Remote)
GiveWell’s mission is to help people in need as much as we can by researching the most cost‑effective ways to save and improve lives, sharing our work openly, and directing donations to the programs we believe will do the most good. Our work, which focuses on global health and well-being, is funded by tens of thousands of donors who rely on our research to inform their giving. We’ve grown from directing $1.5 million in 2010 to directing more than $400 million in 2025. We anticipate our total grantmaking is likely to approach or even exceed $1 billion this year, and we are working toward a future that could be several times that scale. Through years of deliberate groundwork, we’ve been growing our research capacity and scope in order to direct substantially more funding to the most impactful opportunities we can find.
Summary
GiveWell is seeking a Cause Prioritization Lead to own and improve our cause prioritization process, develop a portfolio of early-stage grants across emerging cause areas, and rapidly respond to promising new opportunities that are unusual for GiveWell, do not fit with our existing grantmaking teams and may require innovative approaches to investigation.
As part of our lean research team, you will have an outsized influence on our funding decisions and help us save and improve lives on a global scale. You’ll create and lead ambitious research agendas, answer complex questions, and inform high-impact grantmaking decisions by combining rigorous evidence review, cost-effectiveness modeling, and thoughtful judgment.
The Cause Prioritization lead will join GiveWell at Senior Program Officer level. You will build a sub-team within the New Areas team and will report to our New Areas team lead.
The role
As Cause Prioritization Lead, you will be an intellectual leader of GiveWell’s work in new domains. In this role, you will build and lead a new sub-team within GiveWell's New Areas team. You will be responsible for:
Improving our cause prioritization process to identify promising emerging areas for grantmaking; ensuring that process combines evidence, cost-effectiveness modelling and our own judgement, and is continuously responsive to new information and external feedback.
Overseeing a portfolio of grant investigations and grant management in each of the highest priority emerging cause areas, and starting to build a research agenda including identifying ways to learn about key uncertainties through the initial grants that we make.
Communicating externally about our work and building a network of people across implementers, funders, and academia whose expertise span a broad range of cause areas, to help source new ideas.
Managing a team to execute these goals, and supporting the professional development of other team members. Creating a culture that is agile and willing to respond to new and unusual opportunities.
Directly investigating more complicated grantmaking opportunities yourself. This could include investigating types of programs that are newer to GiveWell; for example, programs earlier in the product development cycle or programs to support government prioritization and planning.
In the course of your work, you might approach questions like these:
How can we source new grantmaking opportunities in fields in which we don't have an established presence, and how can we make sure we hear from a range of implementers, not just those we've worked with before?
How much uncertainty are we willing to accept before making a grant, which questions do we need to answer before making a grant, and which ones can we deprioritize or answer later?
What research we can fund today that could substantially impact our grantmaking five years from now?
How should we balance exploring and seeding new, smaller opportunities with funding cost-effective opportunities at scale today?
How can we ensure that we identify new funding gaps opened up by changes in other donors' priorities?
How can we triangulate empirical evidence against expert opinion on other qualitative features, like organizational track record?
How can we estimate the probability that a new health commodity comes to market in low and middle income countries, and on what timeline, at what scale?
How can we model the cost-effectiveness of a horizontal program which has benefits across a diffuse set of health outcomes?
Team structure
Our research department is currently organized into eight teams:
Five of the teams (Water, Livelihoods, Nutrition, Malaria, and Vaccines) focus on specific areas of grantmaking.
The Cross-Cutting team focuses on methodological issues, research quality, and other big-picture concerns that cut across all of our research work.
The Commons team provides generalized research support to each of the other teams, including landscaping research, vetting, and publishing.
The New Areas team focuses on interventions in domains that are new to GiveWell.
The New Areas team is currently a 9-person team within an overall research department of ~80 people, and focuses on interventions in domains that are new to GiveWell. Our work is divided into three main workstreams. Grantmaking in emerging cause areas, as well as the process for and identification of new cause areas for that portfolio, would be the primary responsibility of the Cause Prioritization Lead.
Core cause areas:
this is the set of cause areas for which the New Areas team devotes a significant amount of time developing subject-matter specific expertise and networks, a thorough research agenda, and a relatively large portfolio of grants across a mix of implementers and interventions. This portfolio currently includes our work on maternal and newborn health, family planning, tuberculosis, HIV and medical oxygen.
Emerging cause areas:
this is a broader set of cause areas for which the New Areas team is starting to build its expertise, networks and research agenda, and is making some initial grants. As our work in these areas becomes more mature, they could graduate to become a core cause area. In addition to new cause areas, this portfolio may include work on types of intervention that are new to GiveWell which could have applications across our teams: recent examples include market shaping, health systems strengthening and applications of AI to global health.
Incubators:
we support other organisations to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future (e.g., the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
). For example, we funded a program to provide diarrhea treatment to children in Nigeria that we co-designed with CHAI through the Incubator program. Some of this work could fall under the remit of the Cause Prioritization Lead where it overlaps with our emerging cause areas.
Team values
We think our research team has unique qualities:
We care deeply about finding and sharing truth.
Truth-seeking is one of our
core values
. We post
our mistakes
and we prize our team members who keep our culture of free-flowing feedback strong.
We are independent.
We focus 100% on finding the most cost-effective opportunities to save and improve lives. Our researchers assist in communicating our research findings to the public and our donors, and on occasion we provide tailored advice to ultra-high-net-worth donors who want to rely on our expertise to direct their giving—but we never ask our researchers to trade off against honesty, or to hide their real beliefs.
We don’t waste time.
Once it’s clear that a particular research question is unlikely to change our bottom-line funding recommendation, we drop it as quickly as possible. We encourage our research staff to constantly re-evaluate their portfolios and only work on the highest-priority questions.
Lean research team = huge personal impact.
In 2026,
our research team of ~80 people is directing close to 1 billion dollars and we expect grantmaking dollars per research team member to increase in the future.
We work well together.
Our research team is lean because we’re able to attract top-tier people, all of whom complete skills-based assessments before joining our staff. We maintain a high-performing, collegial culture and pay our staff accordingly.
About you
The Cause Prioritization lead must have quantitatively-oriented advanced degrees and substantial relevant experience using empirical tools to make rigorous, evidence-based decisions in the real world. Practically, our senior research staff typically has 5-10 years of post-grad work experience prior to joining GiveWell. We're happy to consider applicants who do not have advanced degrees, but we'll look for a commensurate amount of relevant experience. You can review our staff bios
here
for more practical insight on the backgrounds and experience of our current team.
We expect that people with the soft qualities below will be the most successful and happy on our team. This isn’t a full list, but hopefully it conveys the gist of our team’s professional personality:
GiveWell’s mission and methods are personally energizing—you like our approach to research and you find personal meaning in our story of impact.
You’re unusually curious—you ask lots of questions, and you're willing to interrogate others' work. Your curiosity also extends to your own work, and you aren’t defensive when your research comes under scrutiny.
You're a generalist and agile —you are able to get up to speed quickly on new topics and you feel comfortable task-switching. You are comfortable pivoting your focus as we learn new information, and are continuously reassessing promisingness.
You're a strong strategic thinker. You find ways to impose structure on a broad and undefined problem (e.g., how should your team prioritise work across a huge range of potential cause areas), you can develop and articulate a vision to your team, and build processes to execute that vision.
You're excited by people management. You take other team members' professional development seriously, and can provide a supportive environment whilst also delivering constructive feedback.
You're able to quickly hone in on the crux of the argument when assessing other people's work, probing on the most decision-relevant assumptions even in fields where you have limited contextual knowledge.
You're entrepreneurial. When you see a gap, you want to fill it, whether that's designing a new program, finding an implementer, or setting up a new kind of funding mechanism. You make bets under uncertainty.
You routinely think about and surface the value judgments, background knowledge, and strategic commitments that underlie your work. You understand the potential effects of mistaken mental models, so you strive to improve yours and your team’s.
You dislike it when people express strong confidence in views that don’t seem to rely on commensurate evidence. You carefully and legibly communicate about your confidence levels.
You appreciate the value of an excellent reputation and strong relationships. You can moderate your directness and intensity when you’re communicating with external folks.
You love a
gnarly problem
. You figure out the most important questions to answer, go deep on the details where they matter (and move on where they don’t), and reassess your mental models based on what you’ve learned.

About GiveWell
GiveWell is dedicated to finding and evaluating highly cost-effective global health and development opportunities, and we publish all the work, reasoning, and uncertainties behind our funding decisions. Our
giving funds
enable donors to contribute to the most impactful and cost-effective programs our researchers identify.
GiveWell is one of the world’s largest private funders of global development efforts. Trusted annually by tens of thousands of donors, GiveWell searches for highly cost-effective programs that save or improve lives the most. Since 2007, more than 150,000 donors have given over $2.6 billion through GiveWell to the most promising programs its research has identified, which we estimate will save more than
340,000 lives
.
GiveWell is most well-known for recommending a small number of
Top Charities
, which currently support
seasonal malaria chemoprevention
,
insecticide-treated nets
,
vaccine incentivization
, and
vitamin A supplementation
. However, most of our research capacity and grantmaking is devoted to
cost-effective opportunities outside of those programs
.
GiveWell
grants
have:
Helped governments
navigate changes to the funding landscape
and implement high-impact health programs, like
HIV/syphilis screening and treatment
for pregnant people in Zambia and Cameroon.
Sought to scope and scale promising interventions that don’t have clear existing implementers. We are supporting the
Clinton Health Access Initiative’s Incubator
to identify potentially cost-effective interventions and create programs that we would be excited to support in the future. For example, we
funded a program
to prevent tuberculosis among young children in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, India, that we co-designed with CHAI through the Incubator program.
Provided funding to ensure that programs that recently faced foreign aid funding cuts could continue, like
healthcare support and malnutrition treatment
in northern Cameroon.
Funded program delivery alongside strengthened monitoring and evaluation, as in our grants to support
treatment of clubfoot
and to
evaluate the program
.
Tested our
assumptions and refined our understanding
through further research and data collection, including
improved estimates of disease burden
and studies on
the effect of water chlorination on mortality
and
the impact of a tree-planting program on farmers’ income
.
We make our reasoning public and transparent so others can challenge it (sometimes we even
pay people to point out our errors
). We go to unusual lengths to check our assumptions and assess our impact, including
funding research
to address our uncertainties and gathering
independent monitoring and evaluation data
about the programs we support. We
change
our minds when the evidence demands it. For more about GiveWell, listen to Ezra Klein’s

ABOUT US
At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale.
With $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world.
Today, our platform includes LangSmith (Observability, Evaluation, Deployment, Fleet, and Sandboxes), our open source frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, and Deep Agents), and the newly launched LangSmith Engine for autonomous agent improvement. We have 100M+ monthly open source downloads, 6,000+ active LangSmith customers, and 5 of the Fortune 10 use LangSmith in production (+ 35% of the Fortune 500 overall), including teams at Klarna, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, LinkedIn, Monday.com, Nvidia, and Bridgewater.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Security team ensures that while AI moves at breakneck speed, everyone driving the racecar is wearing a seatbelt. We secure LangChain's core platform and protect AI agents from emerging threats. We work across the stack so developers can confidently ship from prototype to production without compromising on safety or privacy.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be the hands-on detection and response engineer responsible for how we see, stop, and learn from threats across LangChain's production platform, cloud infrastructure, and the services that host and execute agentic workloads. You'll partner closely with Product Security to turn threat models, vulnerabilities, and incidents into telemetry, detections, and durable defenses. Your primary focus is engineering: building detection, investigation, and response systems that scale the Security team's impact beyond what manual operations allow. We are looking for engineers who think like builders, not just operators — strong software skills are a must.
This role participates in an incident on-call rotation, but its core focus is engineering systems that reduce risk, speed up investigations, and make incidents less frequent and less costly.
Location/City: San Francisco or NYC
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the detection lifecycle: Translate threat models, incidents, and attacker behavior into telemetry requirements and detections-as-code. Validate coverage, measure signal quality, tune false positives, and continuously test whether defenses work.
- Build security monitoring and telemetry: Design the telemetry pipeline end-to-end across cloud (GCP/AWS), Kubernetes, and the LangSmith/LangGraph control plane. Instrument services, define the signals that matter, and make security data reliable and useful.
- Engineer investigations and threat hunting: Build tools and workflows for proactive hunting, evidence collection, incident scoping, and containment. Turn investigation findings into new detections and lasting improvements.
- Use agents to scale the team: Build reliable internal AI agents and automation that triage alerts, enrich findings, gather evidence, scope incidents, and accelerate routine security work. Design human-in-the-loop controls and evaluations so automation is safe, observable, and trustworthy.
- Lead incident response and participate in on-call: Triage, scope, contain, and remediate security incidents, then drive postmortems that produce durable engineering changes.
- Partner with Product Security: Turn product threat models and vulnerability findings into production monitoring, and feed real-world detection and incident learnings back into secure design.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 5+ years in security engineering, with meaningful experience in detection engineering, security operations, or incident response — and the software skills to build your way out of repetitive work.
- Strong software engineering in Python or Go (TypeScript a plus). You design maintainable systems and write production code, not just one-off scripts.
- Cloud and Kubernetes detection depth: Experience with GCP or AWS logging, Kubernetes audit and runtime telemetry, workload identity, and turning raw signals into actionable detections.
- Detection and adversary expertise: The ability to model realistic attacker behavior, hunt across complex systems, test detection coverage, and distinguish meaningful signal from noise.
- Hands-on incident response: You've participated in on-call, led incidents, and written postmortems that changed how a team operates.
- Experience building reliable automation or developer-facing systems: You can design APIs and workflows, instrument what you build, evaluate quality, and operate it in production.
- A pragmatic product mindset: You can identify users and requirements, prioritize the highest-leverage problems, define success, and ship iteratively.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience building or operating AI agents for security workflows such as alert triage, investigation, evidence collection, or human-in-the-loop response.
- Proficiency using AI tooling to accelerate security investigations and engineering work.
- Understanding of AI threats, adversarial testing, and the security boundaries of LLM and agent workloads.
- Exposure to SOC 2 or ISO 27001 monitoring and evidence automation.
- Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Helm.
- Experience securing both SaaS and self-hosted or air-gapped deployments.
Annual salary range: $185,000- $250,000 USD
Compensation Philosophy:
We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, meaningful equity, benefits, and perks.
We are hiring for this role across a range of scope, and the compensation band reflects that. We will tell you early where you’re tracking and talk comp with you before offer stage. About the role:
Higgsfield AI is seeking a Head of Demand Generation to build and scale our global demand generation engine as we continue our rapid growth. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for driving pipeline creation across enterprise and self-serve motions — owning strategy and execution across digital channels, paid media, ABM, events, and partnerships, while overseeing our lifecycle marketing function to ensure a seamless journey from first touch through renewal and expansion.
You'll work closely with the head of B2B Marketing, Sales, Growth, Product, and Revenue Operations in a fast-paced environment where experimentation, speed, and measurable business impact matter. You'll need to be equal parts strategist and operator: someone who sets the vision and is just as comfortable rolling up their sleeves to execute it.

Own Pipeline Generation
- Develop and execute the demand generation strategy to drive qualified pipeline across enterprise and PLG motions.

- Partner with Revenue Operations to improve lead routing, scoring, attribution, and campaign measurement.
- Continuously test messaging, audiences, creative, and channels to maximize performance.
- Identify opportunities to automate and scale marketing operations.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with Sales leadership to align campaigns with pipeline priorities and revenue goals.
- Partner with Customer Success to drive expansion and customer marketing initiatives.
- Help establish scalable demand generation processes as the company continues to grow globally.
Requirements:
- 6-8 years of experience in B2B demand generation, growth marketing, or integrated marketing at a high-growth SaaS or AI company.
- Proven track record of building programs that generate measurable pipeline and revenue.
- Strong understanding of enterprise marketing motions, ABM, and full-funnel demand generation.
- Experience managing paid acquisition channels, lifecycle marketing, webinars, events, and integrated campaigns.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience measuring attribution, funnel performance, and campaign ROI.
- Comfortable partnering closely with Sales, Product Marketing, RevOps, and executive leadership.
- Hands-on operator who enjoys building from scratch while thinking strategically.
- Experience with modern marketing and CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, 6sense, Clay, Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
- We offer a competitive and thoughtfully structured compensation package designed to align with impact, experience, and long-term growth.
- Base Salary: The anticipated salary range for this role is $220,000 - $320,000, depending on experience, skills, scope, and location.

ABOUT US
At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous.
ABOUT THE TEAM:
The LangSmith Engine team is building a proactive agent engineer that analyzes production traces, identifies important failures, recommends and writes fixes, and helps prevent those issues from coming back. We’re building agents that can understand complex software systems and continuously improve the quality of other AI agents.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re looking for an experienced research engineer to help make the Engine agent more capable and more efficient.
You’ll study real agent failures, build benchmarks that capture what matters, run experiments to improve performance, and turn successful ideas into production. This may include prompting and agent-harness improvements, model selection, fine-tuning and post-training custom models. The focus is on measurable improvements to the overall agent.
This role also requires a understanding of production engineering and system-level tradeoffs. Engine is a production system, so improving an agent is not just about maximizing benchmark performance—it also means understanding the impact on cost, latency, reliability, and scalability. You’ll work in the same team with production engineers to design, test, and ship improvements that work reliably in real-world environments.
Location: SF and NYC
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Build and maintain benchmarks and evaluations that measure the quality and efficiency of Engine agents on real-world tasks.
- Design and run experiments to improve agent performance across models, prompting, context, tools, orchestration, and agent strategies.
- Explore and implement post-training and fine-tuning techniques when they can meaningfully improve agent capabilities, quality, or cost.
- Turn successful experiments into production improvements, working closely with engineers and researchers to measure impact and prevent regressions.
- Help define the ML roadmap and technical direction for improving Engine agents, and mentor other engineers through strong technical leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- 4+ years of experience in ML/AI research, or a closely related field.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field.
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs and AI agents, including analyzing model behavior and improving real-world performance
- Strong experience designing benchmarks, evaluations, and experiments for AI/ML systems; you know how to tell whether a change actually made an agent better.
- Strong software engineering skills, with a track record of taking ideas from research prototype to measurable production impact.
- You have maximum agency and strong research judgment: you can identify high-impact problems, work through ambiguity, move quickly, and communicate your findings clearly.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science or Physics.
- Hands on experience with LLM-as-a-judge, automated graders, synthetic data generation, or human evaluation.
- Hands on experience with reinforcement learning, preference optimization, SFT, RLHF/RLAIF, or other post-training techniques for LLMs.
- Experience optimizing LLM agents for cost, latency, or task efficiency on productions
- Experience with model serving, inference optimization, distributed systems, or GPU infrastructure.

ABOUT DOCKER
Docker has been one of the most loved brands in developer tooling, trusted by more than 20 million monthly users and over 20 billion container image pulls. From solo founders to the world's largest companies, developers rely on Docker to build, share, and run their applications across our suite of products including Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout.
We are a globally distributed, remote-first team building the tools that define how software gets built and delivered. As AI agents redefine software development, Docker is at the center of that shift, providing the sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default.
_______________________________________________________________________
The Developer Experience team builds the backend systems and product capabilities that help developers understand, secure and ship software with confidence. The team powers important parts of Docker Scout, Docker Hardened Images and the workflows that turn supply-chain data into useful developer experiences.
Our systems are deliberately polyglot. Today that includes Clojure and Go services, event-driven workflows, Kafka, legacy Datomic components and newer Spanner-backed services. We will keep evolving the stack as the product and business change. We are looking for an adaptable backend engineer who can become effective in an unfamiliar codebase, choose technology pragmatically and help other engineers do the same. Clojure experience is useful, but it is not a requirement and this is not a Clojure-specialist role.
We make extensive use of AI-assisted engineering tools. We expect engineers to use them thoughtfully, validate their output and remain accountable for the quality, security and operability of what ships. At Staff level, you will also help the team turn good individual practice into repeatable workflows, controls and shared standards.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will lead ambiguous, cross-team work from problem definition through measurable outcomes. You will remain hands-on in code while shaping architecture, raising operational standards and creating enough clarity for several engineers and partner teams to move quickly. Work may span developer-facing features, build and artefact workflows, data and event pipelines, platform evolution and integrations with Docker's build and security systems.
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE
You will succeed by finding the highest-leverage problem, creating momentum before every detail is known and bringing people with you. Within your first year, teams should be delivering more confidently because you have made system boundaries clearer, reduced operational risk, connected technical choices to customer outcomes and helped senior engineers take on larger work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set technical direction for major backend and developer-experience initiatives across Clojure, Go and adjacent systems.
- Turn ambiguous product or platform problems into clear plans, staged decisions and measurable outcomes.
- Design, build and operate distributed services, event pipelines, databases and APIs with strong security and reliability characteristics.
- Lead cross-team delivery, surface risks early and remove technical or organisational blockers without waiting for formal authority.
- Make pragmatic recommendations about when to retain, evolve or replace existing components, including the continued reduction of legacy Datomic dependencies.
- Partner with Product, Design, Security and other engineering teams to connect technical investment to developer and business outcomes.
- Improve observability, incident readiness, performance and service ownership across the Developer Experience estate.
- Improve engineering leverage through appropriate automation, AI-assisted workflows and controls that preserve human accountability.
- Mentor senior engineers, raise the quality of design and code reviews and create reusable patterns that multiply the team.
- Stay hands-on through implementation, debugging and the team's paid on-call rotation.
- Communicate decisions and trade-offs clearly in a remote, async-first environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated technical leadership on production systems at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Deep experience designing, building and operating production backend or platform systems.
- Strong programming ability in at least one production language, with evidence of becoming effective in unfamiliar languages and codebases.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, APIs, relational or distributed databases and cloud-native infrastructure.
- A track record of leading complex initiatives that crossed team or organisational boundaries.
- Strong technical and product judgement, including the ability to explain constraints, alternatives, customer outcomes and business trade-offs.
- Evidence of influencing without authority and improving the effectiveness of other experienced engineers.
- An operational mindset that treats observability, resilience, incident response and on-call ownership as part of engineering.
- Comfort using AI-assisted engineering tools critically while retaining ownership of the result.
- Clear written and spoken communication suited to a remote, async-first company.
HELPFUL, BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Production experience with Go, Clojure or both.
- Experience with Spanner, Datomic, Kafka or other distributed data and streaming platforms.

ABOUT US
At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous.
ABOUT THE ROLE
LangChain builds infrastructure that powers AI-native applications. Our open-source framework and commercial products enable developers and enterprises to build, deploy, and scale applications with large language models.
We are seeking a business-minded Commercial Counsel to support a broad range of commercial legal work across LangChain’s go-to-market and business operations. In this role, you will draft, review, and negotiate a mix of customer, partner, vendor, and other commercial agreements, helping the business move quickly while thoughtfully managing legal and operational risk.
This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who enjoys working close to the business and is excited to support both day-to-day contracting and the systems that make contracting more scalable. You’ll work closely with teams across Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security, Product, Revenue Operations, and Operations to help structure, negotiate, and execute agreements that support LangChain’s growth.
Over time, this role may take on increasing responsibility for LangChain’s partner and alliances work, including technology partnerships, channel relationships, integrations, and strategic go-to-market initiatives. In the near term, the role will support a broader variety of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, while helping build out the processes and infrastructure needed for scale.
You will also play an important role in improving LangChain’s commercial legal operations, including helping design vendor review processes, contracting workflows, templates, playbooks, approval paths, and supporting the implementation of Ironclad.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Draft, review, redline, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer agreements, partner agreements, vendor agreements, NDAs, order forms, MSAs, DPAs, security addenda, amendments, and related commercial documentation.
- Support LangChain’s Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Security, Product, Revenue Operations, and Operations teams by providing practical, business-oriented legal guidance.
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements efficiently, while identifying when issues require escalation or cross-functional input.
- Support enterprise sales deals as needed, including SaaS, cloud, and technology agreements with sophisticated customers.
- Support partner and alliance-related agreements, including technology partnerships, referral arrangements, reseller or channel relationships, integration partnerships, marketplace arrangements, co-selling motions, and strategic collaborations.
- Review and negotiate vendor agreements and help develop a scalable vendor review process, including intake, risk assessment, approval workflows, fallback positions, and cross-functional review practices.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate efficient deal execution while balancing legal, business, security, financial, and operational risk.
- Advise on contractual issues related to data protection, privacy, security, intellectual property, AI/LLM usage, confidentiality, indemnities, limitation of liability, compliance, partner programs, integrations, and vendor risk.
- Help implement and operationalize Ironclad, including contract intake workflows, approval routing, templates, clause libraries, playbooks, reporting, and process improvements.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, negotiation guidelines, approval workflows, fallback positions, and scalable contracting processes.
- Identify patterns across customer, partner, and vendor negotiations and recommend practical improvements to LangChain’s standard positions, processes, and risk frameworks.
- Serve as a trusted legal partner to business stakeholders, helping teams understand tradeoffs and make sound decisions in ambiguous or fast-moving situations.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 5–8 years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial technology agreements, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
- In-house experience at a SaaS, infrastructure, AI, cloud, developer tools, enterprise software, or high-growth technology company strongly preferred.
- Experience with a broad mix of commercial agreements, including customer agreements, vendor agreements, partner agreements, NDAs, MSAs, order forms, DPAs, security addenda, amendments, and related documentation.
- Experience supporting partnerships, alliances, channel, reseller, marketplace, referral, integration, co-sell, or other ecosystem-driven commercial arrangements.
- Strong foundation in SaaS, cloud, or technology contracting, including familiarity with data privacy, security, intellectual property, confidentiality, indemnity, limitation of liability, AI/LLM usage, and compliance issues in a B2B technology environment.
- Comfort managing a steady volume of agreements of varying complexity, from routine vendor or commercial contracts to more strategic partner or customer transactions.
- Ability to independently manage negotiations while knowing when to escalate novel, complex, or higher-risk issues.
- Experience helping build or improve legal processes, contracting workflows, approval paths, templates, playbooks, vendor review processes, or other legal operations infrastructure.
- Experience with Ironclad or another contract lifecycle management platform is a plus.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort advising non-legal stakeholders across Sales, Partnerships, Product, Security, Finance, Revenue Operations, and Operations.
- Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Low-ego, collaborative, and excited to help build scalable legal processes for a growing company.
- Admitted to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction; California admission preferred, or ability to register as in-house counsel in California.
