Represent AI Mosaic at industry events, conferences, and client-facing meetings.
Translate a complex technical product into clear, commercial value for each buyer.
Create and deliver pitch decks, commercial proposals, and business cases tailored to different audiences.
Work with leadership to define target segments, pricing angles, and go-to-market priorities.
Coordinate internally with product, engineering, and legal to scope, structure, and land deals.

Native or fluent Japanese, with confidence in negotiations and senior-level business conversations in the Japanese market.

Solid B2B experience in business development or sales within tech, media, or platform-driven businesses, with a track record of closing deals.
Ability to represent a complex technical product and translate it into clear buyer value.
Proactive in sourcing new opportunities, clients, and markets, without waiting for inbound.
Comfortable attending industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Working English for internal collaboration with a global team.
Experience in streaming platforms, tech, media, or the Japanese content industry.

An overview of this role
The Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations team manages observability, monitoring, and detection for systems that support customer purchasing and use of GitLab. As a Staff Backend Engineer on the Fulfillment Workflow Monitoring (Catch All) team, you'll set the technical direction for the telemetry, detection, and reconciliation tooling that identifies billing, data, and event anomalies across CustomersDot, Salesforce, and Zuora before they can affect revenue or the customer experience.
This is a greenfield team. You'll help build it from the ground up, shaping its operating rhythm, incident response model, and quality bar. You'll use telemetry and machine learning to identify issues early and help resolve them. Because Monetization changes can directly affect revenue and often involve confidential or financial information, you'll use strong judgment, careful rollout practices, and a high bar for reliability. This role is opening at the Staff Backend Engineer level (grade 8).
What you’ll do
Design, build, and operate observability across the Monetization stack, including metrics, logs, and traces, using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Implement automated detection for billing, data, and event anomalies, and route alerts to the responsible feature teams.
Develop reconciliation and data integrity checks across usage and billing pipelines.
Define and track service level objectives and service level indicators, write runbooks, and take part in incident response to measure and improve Monetization system reliability.
Explore artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to predict system anomalies and accelerate resolution.
Review and offer feedback on merge requests from other Monetization engineers.
Collaborate with Product, Finance, Support, and other partners to turn operational needs into reliable tooling.
What you’ll bring
Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, including building and operating applications such as CustomersDot.
Experience in site reliability or observability engineering, including monitoring, alerting, service level objectives and indicators, runbooks, and incident response.
Experience setting technical direction for observability, reliability, or detection work and bringing other engineers along.
Experience building anomaly detection, monitoring, or risk management tooling.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
Exposure to analytical data stores such as ClickHouse and the change data capture and event-streaming pipelines that feed them, including NATS JetStream.
Experience owning projects from concept through production, communicating clearly about complex technical and organizational problems, and proposing iterative solutions.
Working knowledge of Python for anomaly detection and data work, or experience with billing, financial, or other business-critical systems, including Zuora or Salesforce, is a plus.
About the team
The Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations team is part of GitLab's Monetization section, a highly cross-functional group that partners with Sales, Finance, IT, and Support to deliver secure and reliable purchasing, billing, provisioning, and utilization workflows. The Monetization section includes the Purchase, Subscription Lifecycle, Billing Engine, Platform and Infrastructure, Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations, and Compliance teams.
This role is on the Fulfillment Workflow Monitoring (Catch All) team and reports to the Engineering Manager, Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations. We work asynchronously, plan and reflect regularly, and share responsibility for deployments, incident management, testing, and safe rollouts. We're increasingly focused on how artificial intelligence and machine learning can improve our Monetization infrastructure and provide predictive insights.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Claude serves millions of individual users alongside enterprise clients. Safeguards Engineering develops the foundational infrastructure that ensures its safe use: robust access controls, active abuse detection, real-time probes and classifiers within the inference pipeline, offline monitoring for review, and the underlying systems powering it all. Operating at scale and velocity, we continuously adapt to technology whose capabilities and risks evolve weekly.
The Safeguards Data team owns the data lifecycle for Safeguards—routing user data and safety metadata from online systems into offline storage and enabling access for downstream teams. Our goal is to provide privacy-safe access to sensitive data for approved uses while ensuring performance, reliability, and minimal blast radius. We prioritize security by design, embedding controls directly into systems operating across AWS, GCP, Azure, and customer-managed environments.
This is a systems engineering position within a small, newly established team. Rather than managing an existing backlog, you will have the autonomy to own a problem domain, establish its technical vision, and shape the team's trajectory.
Key responsibilities
Design, build, and operate the stores, pipelines, schemas, and APIs that Safeguards' detection, evaluation, investigation, and review systems read from.
Build privacy-safe interfaces that allow ML training, evaluation, and investigation workflows to utilize sensitive data without requiring broad access to raw records, ensuring access is tied to purpose and built-in lineage.
Scale the distributed storage, ingestion, and processing systems operated by Safeguards, maintaining cost efficiency, reliability, and portability across deployment environments.
Collaborate with investigators, researchers, legal, privacy, and security teams to translate operational requirements into functional mechanisms and systems for safe data utilization.
Uphold a high operational bar by participating in the on-call rotation, leading incident reviews, and continuously reducing manual operational overhead.
Lead through technical design by authoring foundational proposals and conducting cross-team architectural reviews.
Minimum qualifications
Have strong systems fundamentals (processes, threads, RPC, storage, and how systems fail) and have built and operated large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems
Have built and operated systems that handle sensitive or high-value data, with access, privacy, retention and security controls designed in from the start
Have a track record of building platforms or internal tooling that other teams widely adopt
Have led the technical design of projects that span several engineers or teams
Learn quickly and adapt: you're comfortable with ambiguity, a fast pace, and systems or languages you haven't used before
Care about the impact of your work and about making AI safe, use good judgment about what matters most, and can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical partners
Preferred qualifications
Proficiency in one or more systems languages (e.g., C, C++, Rust, Go)
8+ years of experience as a software engineer, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable professional experience
Experience building data infrastructure for ML: training datasets, offline batch inference or evaluation
Experience with data governance requirements in a regulated or high-sensitivity domain
Fluency with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code

Fivetran and dbt Labs is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We're looking for a senior software engineer to join our Metadata team, which owns the metadata layer of the dbt platform — the discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history services that let customers understand, trust, and act on what their data is doing.
You'll own the design and delivery of features end to end, working across high-throughput APIs and data models to make them faster, more reliable, and more capable. You'll write and review designs, raise the quality bar in code review, use the latest AI tools, and collaborate closely with product and QE to deliver work that scales.
Technologies You’ll Use
Python, Rust, GraphQL, Postgres, Snowflake, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, Datadog
What You’ll Do
Design and implement features and performance improvements across the Metadata team's services — discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history
Develop, maintain, and test high-quality, maintainable code, and optimize critical paths for performance
Write technical designs for feature-level work, actively seek feedback, and clearly explain the trade-offs of your decisions
Participate in and review technical designs and pull requests, providing constructive feedback to the team
Improve test coverage with comprehensive unit tests and refactor code to drive down tech debt
Troubleshoot and debug production issues, and follow up on incidents with post-mortems and mitigation plans
Break features into tasks, structure and execute your own project plans, and contribute to sprint and feature planning
Collaborate with product managers, QE, customer support, and peers to deliver the best product with high quality, performance, and scalability
Participate periodically in the on-call rotation, and be mindful of security throughout your work
Use AI tooling — IDE assistants like GitHub Copilot, coding agents like Claude Code, and conversational AI — to accelerate development and to author and review SDLC artifacts such as TDDs, PRDs, post-mortems, and test plans
Skills We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience in the software industry with a passion for solving complex software engineering problems, including designing and building backend services and reusable components from the ground up
Experience working with distributed systems and cloud computing concepts
Demonstrated ability to write well-structured, performant, and well-tested code
Ability to independently lead feature-level software and design work that satisfies project requirements, and to clearly explain design trade-offs
Can identify design flaws in existing systems and propose improvements
Experience with code reviews, design, troubleshooting, and testing
Proficiency in a modern backend or systems language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with continuous integration tooling such as BuildKite, and familiarity with observability tools like Datadog or Grafana is a plus
Fluent in using AI code assistants and coding agents to generate and investigate code, and conversational AI (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to research, author, review, and synthesize SDLC artifacts
Bonus Skills
Experience in data processing (ETL, ELT) and/or cloud-based data platforms
Experience building or working with metadata, catalog, lineage, or discovery/search systems
Experience with GraphQL APIs and high-throughput, multi-tenant data services
Familiarity with the analytics engineering workflow and the dbt ecosystem

About the Role
Fivetran and dbt Labs are building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We're looking for a staff software engineer to be a technical leader on our Metadata team, which owns the metadata layer of the dbt platform — the discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history services that let customers understand, trust, and act on what their data is doing.
As a
Staff Software Engineer
, you'll contribute to the technical direction for the team. You'll own the architecture of major subsystems, lead complex projects that span multiple engineers, and raise the bar for design and code quality across the team. You'll spend your time on the hardest technical problems, and multiply the team through design reviews, coaching, and mentorship.
Technologies You'll Use
Python, GraphQL, Postgres, Snowflake, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, Datadog
What You'll Do
Lead the design and delivery of complex, team-level projects across the Metadata services, coordinating development across multiple engineers
Independently design and develop the architecture of new subsystems, and own team-level subsystems end to end
Use AI tooling and agents — across development and SDLC artifacts such as TDDs, PRDs, post-mortems, and test plans
Review and approve technical designs, ensuring they meet a high quality bar, and identify design deficiencies before they ship
Drive technical initiatives across the team's responsibility areas — discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history
Set and uphold design, architecture, and coding best practices, and hold teammates accountable for code quality
Coach and mentor engineers, demonstrably improving the quality of code across the team
Write technical specs, document common components, and keep the team accountable for necessary project documentation
Fix and optimize critical parts of the codebase, drive incident follow-through, and advance the reliability and performance of the services you own
Participate periodically in the on-call rotation
Skills We're Looking For
8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading complex, team-scope technical work to completion
Deep expertise designing and owning subsystems in distributed, cloud-based systems
Demonstrated ability to set technical direction for a team and drive multi-engineer initiatives across an area of ownership
Excellent design and architecture judgment; identifies design flaws in existing systems and proposes sound solutions with clear trade-offs
Writes exemplary, well-tested code that serves as a model for others, and reliably estimates and delivers sprint to sprint
Strong track record of raising quality through code review, coaching peers, and enforcing accepted engineering practices
Experience partnering with QE on test strategy and owning operational health — incidents, post-mortems, reliability, and performance
Proficiency in a modern backend or systems language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and managing dev infrastructure
Fluent in using AI code assistants and coding agents to generate and investigate code, and conversational AI (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to author, review, and synthesize SDLC artifacts — and able to model those practices for a team
Bonus Skills
Experience in data processing (ETL, ELT) and/or cloud-based data platforms
Experience architecting metadata, catalog, lineage, or discovery/search systems
Experience with GraphQL APIs and high-throughput, multi-tenant data services
Familiarity with the analytics engineering workflow and the dbt ecosystem
