We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. ABOUT THE TECH, MEDIA & TELECOM TEAM
- We work with some of the world's most influential and recognizable companies, from global telecommunications providers and leading media brands to technology platforms that power businesses worldwide.
- We build agents for the moments that matter, helping our customers rise to the occasion when service disruptions, major product launches, or global events like the World Cup https://www.linkedin.com/posts/claybavor_at-sierra-we-are-very-proud-to-have-partnered-activity-7491200203899760641-I27d?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAABYjELMBZfjrg-wrv53M1tVXGe93FF3eTww drive millions of customer interactions.
- We bring Sierra’s Horizon https://sierra.ai/product/horizon vision to TMT by building agents that transform the entire customer relationship:
- Telecommunications: Turn one of the most frustrating customer experiences into one of the most personal, with agents that understand each subscriber, optimize their plan and savings, anticipate opportunities to add value, and earn their loyalty over time.
- Media: Turn every subscription into an ongoing, personalized relationship, with agents that help each subscriber get the most from their experience through the right content, offer, plan, and support from their free trial through retention.
- Technology: Bring the white-glove customer experience traditionally reserved for the largest enterprise accounts to every customer, helping them adopt the product, discover new ways to get value, expand their usage, and successfully renew.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and deliver production-grade AI agents https://sierra.ai/blog/meet-the-ai-agent-engineer: You'll build and ship highly performant, reliable, and intuitive AI agents that are central, mission-critical and drive revenue directly to Sierra's growth. - Drive the Agent Development Life Cycle https://sierra.ai/blog/agent-development-life-cycle (ADLC): You'll have complete ownership and autonomy from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration. You'll be responsible for building, tuning, and evolving AI agents in production environments, defining the standard for ADLC best practices along the way.
- Partner with large enterprises and cutting-edge startups: You’ll work directly with leaders at some of the world’s largest enterprises to understand their most pressing business challenges, and build AI agents that transform how they operate at scale. You'll also partner with the most cutting-edge startups in Silicon Valley, embedding AI agents across their entire business stack to drive innovation and efficiency.

- Build agents that troubleshoot deeply integrated telecommunications and connected-device experiences, reasoning across account, billing, network, and device systems to diagnose issues and take the actions needed to resolve them.
- Experiment with new voice experiences and Voice Personas https://sierra.ai/blog/introducing-voice-personas tailored to each brand, customer, and moment, bringing the right empathy, energy, and conversational style to everything from navigating a frustrating telecom billing issue to helping someone discover their next favorite show or find the plan that's right for them.

Our customers rely on us to not only deliver standout customer experiences, driving stronger growth in their business.
- Our TTH team is constantly pushing the bounds of what is possible within this industry and beyond. We help support our customers in the moments that matter — whether that’s proactively encouraging new bookings to prepare for exciting events, or helping guests rebook their flights or stays during times of distress. We help our customers maximize the lifetime value of their guests and build products to delight guests at every touchpoint.
- We’re a small and scrappy team, and we support each other with any deliverables we have to meet. Every engineer on TTH is also a product-led thinker; every PM on TTH is tinkering and developing tangible prototypes; and every strategist on TTH is capable of owning an agent end to end. As a part of this team, you’ll set the standard on what it means to go beyond your role, and help build the travel industry of the future.

ABOUT THE FINANCIAL SERVICES TEAM
- Our financial services customers span insurers that provide protection for life’s most challenging moments, systemically important banks, neobanks committed to building more delightful banking software, vertically integrated ecosystems like Rocket Companies, and more. The decisions we make impact millions of end customers and billions of dollars in economic activity.
- Our Financial Services team partners closely with these organizations to set their AI strategies and build modern tools that carefully handle moments when a person’s private anxiety meets an institution’s procedural muscle—the hours after a family discovers their home has been damaged by a wildfire and begins filing a claim; the difficult conversation following the loss of a loved one as beneficiaries navigate a life insurance claim; the frustration of dropping a phone, shattering the screen, and trying to quickly understand coverage and arrange for a repair or replacement.
- Sierra’s Financial Services team is transforming the customer experience and building technology that makes the industry more accessible, human, and affordable for everyone.

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses.
Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
ABOUT THE PUBLIC SECTOR TEAM
- Sierra recently received FedRAMP High https://sierra.ai/blog/certified-fedramp-high certification, enabling us to bring our industry-leading technology to partners in the US public sector. We’re now building our founding public sector team to redefine the relationship between the government and its citizenry.
- Today, our agents already enable citizens to access social services, report fraud, and understand complex government systems. Simultaneously, they empower government officials to better hear the concerns and inquiries of their constituencies.
- We are explicitly nonpartisan and committed to empowering public servants to leverage AI to advance their important missions.
- In our journey, we are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and Family. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.

- Partner closely with industry leadership to build our public sector team, including our capture motion, market strategy, and product components to scale quickly.
- Work closely with institutions to understand their most urgent needs and identify novel opportunities to expand our impact - for example through outbound contacts or long-horizon agents.
- Build the future of the platform: Your direct work with public sector customers will guide the evolution of Sierra's core platform. You'll surface unmet needs, prototype new tools and features, and collaborate with research, product, and platform to shape the future of AI agent development.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Full stack software development skills and familiarity with AI development processes.
- A passion for public sector work and a faith in the potential of our institutions to transform outcomes for their constituents.

EVEN BETTER…
- Experience building conversational or long-horizon agents using proprietary or open source frameworks.
- Demonstrated track record ambiguity, for example as part of a founding team, new initiative at a large enterprise, forward deployed engineering, or elsewhere.
- A prior understanding of government work and its complexities, including procurement, regulation, and patterns of partnership.
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.

ABOUT THE FINANCIAL SERVICES TEAM
- Our financial services customers span systemically important banks, neobanks committed to building more delightful banking software (1 in 3 of the world's leading banks use Sierra!), insurers that provide protection for life’s most challenging moments, vertically integrated ecosystems like Rocket Companies, and more. The decisions we make impact millions of end customers and billions of dollars in economic activity.
- Our financial services team partners closely with these organizations to set their AI strategies and build modern tools that carefully handle moments when a person’s private anxiety meets an institution’s procedural muscle - the instant before a family learns whether they are pre-approved for a mortgage; the claustrophobic half hour after someone notices a fraudulent charge; the frustrating experience of losing a card and needing to order a new one.
- Sierra’s Financial Services team is transforming the customer experience and building technology that makes the industry more accessible, human, and affordable for everyone.
These aren't prototypes—they are powerful, scalable systems running in production environments across industries like finance, healthcare, and commerce.
- Build the future of the platform: Your direct work with customers will guide the evolution of Sierra's core platform. You'll surface unmet needs, prototype new tools and features, and collaborate with research, product, and platform to shape the future of AI agent development and Sierra's product.

Our Strategic Account Executives are expert storytellers and problem-solvers. In the LATAM region, you will help crypto-native organizations (exchanges, Web3, DeFi) and large-scale enterprises confidently and securely adopt blockchain technologies. As the digital asset landscape evolves rapidly across Latin America—driven by institutional interest, the growth of Web3 ecosystems, and evolving regional regulations—you will be at the forefront of helping these organizations execute their cryptocurrency strategy.
Strategic Account Executives are experienced in high-stakes new business creation and deep account management. They are market specialists who understand the unique cultural and business nuances of the LATAM region. They establish trust and build long-term customer relationships within their target market, tailoring their sales approach to the specific economic drivers of the region and evangelizing Chainalysis solutions in a compelling, approachable way. Success is measured by the attainment of assigned quota, new logos, and the strategic expansion of our footprint within the region’s most influential accounts.
In this role, you’ll:
- Drive Regional Growth: Exceed your quota and substantially increase our foothold in the LATAM Enterprise and Crypto-native markets through aggressive prospecting, pipeline development, and expansion of existing accounts.
- Strategic Account Planning: Create and execute sophisticated go-to-market plans for the LATAM territory that result in predictable, increasing quarterly forecasts and long-term partnerships.
- Build Executive Trust: Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles to build relationships with CXOs and Founders based on trust and transparency, positioning Chainalysis as a critical partner in their growth.
- Market Intelligence: Help us develop compelling product positioning and messaging specific to LATAM market trends, such as the rise of DeFi, Web3 innovation, and regional enterprise adoption drivers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal departments (Solutions Architects, Product, and Marketing) to provide expert advice to prospects regarding technical concepts, product roadmaps, and solutions implementations.
- Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a diverse pipeline of opportunities, ensuring consistent and accurate forecasting through disciplined use of enterprise sales methodologies.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Regional Expertise: A deep understanding of the LATAM business landscape and the ability to navigate the unique challenges of doing business across different Latin American countries.
- Bilingual/Trilingual Proficiency: Fluency in English and Spanish is required; proficiency in Portuguese is a significant advantage.
- Proven Sales Excellence: 7+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, specifically selling complex software to large-scale enterprises or high-growth technology companies.
- Strategic Mindset: A strong understanding of enterprise sales methodology (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger) and the ability to manage long, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Communication Skills: An articulate, enthusiastic, and effective communicator who can convey complex blockchain and technical concepts concisely to the CXO level.
- Blockchain Passion: A genuine interest in cryptocurrency, Web3, and the potential for blockchain technology to disrupt traditional business models.

- Mobility: The ability to travel throughout the LATAM region as needed to build face-to-face relationships with key stakeholders.
Nice to have experience:
- You don’t have to be a blockchain expert yet, but you are insatiably curious and a fast learner.
- Experience selling solutions related to data analytics, cybersecurity, risk management, or complex cloud infrastructure.
- An existing network of contacts within the innovation or technology departments of major LATAM-based enterprises.

AI at Chainalysis
AI is not a feature at Chainalysis - it is a new way of working. One that turns instructions into work done, and helps us move faster than the threats we're built to counter, and we expect our employees to take ownership of the output and ensure quality. As the world's most trusted blockchain analytics platform, Chainalysis sits at a rare intersection of proprietary data, regulatory relationships and crypto expertise that makes it uniquely placed to shape and lead the next era of AI-driven intelligence - and we expect everyone here, regardless of role, to be an active part of it.
AI fluency is tied directly to how we measure performance and how we plan to win. There is no substitute for your own curiosity. We provide the tools, workflows, and space to experiment - but the expectation is that you develop these capabilities yourself, bring ideas, and collaborate across teams to reinvent the way work gets done. We are not using AI to do less. We are using it to do what was never possible before.
About Chainalysis
Chainalysis is the blockchain data platform, making it easy to connect the movement of digital assets to real-world services. Powered by deep blockchain data and AI, organizations can investigate illicit activity, manage risk exposure, and develop innovative market solutions built on the industry's most trusted blockchain intelligence. Our mission is to build trust in blockchains, blending safety and security with an unwavering commitment to growth and innovation.

- Customs Specialist

- Department: Global Manufacturing Organisation
- Reports to: Freight Forwarding Manager
- Employment type: Permanent
- Workplace model: Hybrid (first 4-6 months on-site)
- Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
As a Customs Specialist, you’ll keep ICEYE’s goods moving compliantly across the world.
You'll drive the customs compliance and documentation that keeps ICEYE's satellites moving smoothly between Finland, the EU and our sites worldwide. That means classifying goods correctly, applying the right customs procedures, and making sure every shipment clears without unnecessary delay or cost.
You'll work closely with the Freight Forwarding Manager to plan how goods travel by road, air and sea, and use your knowledge of trade agreements and preferential origin rules to reduce duty and landed cost wherever possible.
WHO WE ARE
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own day-to-day customs clearance across the EU: release for circulation, outward/inward processing, transit (T1, T2, TIR), customs warehousing, bonded storage and temporary admission.
- Maintain HS/Taric classification and customs valuation for both supplier-sourced and in-house manufactured goods.
- Spot risks in international shipments early and resolve them before they reach destinations.
- Understand and apply Incoterms with confidence, allocating cost, risk and responsibility correctly across every lane.
- Prepare for and take part in customs audits, and help strengthen the internal audit and control programme.
- Run Binding Tariff Information (BTI) applications regularly and keep the resulting rulings current.
- Write clear SOPs that colleagues can follow without you having to explain them.
- Pursue free trade agreement benefits (preferential origin, EUR.1, statements on origin, REX registration) and maintain the supplier declaration chain.
- Track and report the impact of your work: duty avoided, duty recovered and landed cost reduced.
- Contribute to Freight Forwarding strategy across road, air and sea, flagging where routing, mode or documentation choices affect customs treatment or cost.
- Recognise dangerous goods shipments (IATA DGR, ADR, IMDG) and check the required documentation.
- Support material flow between ICEYE's Espoo site and our sites worldwide, reconciling physical goods against ERP, WMS and TMS records.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (MUST HAVES):
- A track record of reducing duty and landed cost through preferential origin, free trade agreements, relief or suspension regimes, or classification and valuation work, with results you can point to.
- Working knowledge of rules of origin and the origin documentation regime, including supplier declarations.
- Solid understanding of freight forwarding across road, air and sea, including how transport is planned in each mode.
- Professional-level Finnish in addition to English.
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn more and take full ownership over your scope of work
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with EU and US trade compliance (dual-use Regulation (EU) 2021/821, EAR and ITAR, denied party screening).
- Hands-on freight forwarding experience earlier in your career.
- Warehousing, inbound and outbound operations experience.

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses.
- Sierra recently received FedRAMP High certification, enabling us to bring our industry-leading technology to partners in the US public sector.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As an Agent Strategist, you own how Sierra’s AI agents come to life for our customers — from first pilot to a production agent handling thousands of conversations a day. You sit at the intersection of product, building agents and customer-facing work, and stay just as close to the technology as you are to the people you build for. You transform a customer’s thorniest, highest-stakes problems into agents that measurably move their business.
- Own the Agent Development Life Cycle https://sierra.ai/blog/agent-development-life-cycle. Take agents from initial scope through conversation design, tooling, evaluation, launch, and continuous iteration in production. Translate mission goals, policy requirements, and operational workflows into an agent that performs reliably in the real world.
- Be a trusted strategic advisor to public sector leaders. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with agency executives and program leaders to define success, prioritize opportunities, and shape an AI strategy grounded in mission impact.
- Partner with working teams day to day. Run working sessions with program, operations, technology, security, legal, and procurement stakeholders; resolve issues as they arise; and make the decisions that keep deployments moving toward launch.
- Identify new ways to expand our impact. Understand our partners' most urgent needs and develop roadmaps for new use cases, including proactive outreach, multilingual access, and long-horizon agents that can support people across multi-step journeys.
- Directly shape the product and our public sector strategy. Surface unmet needs from customer work, prototype new approaches, and partner with research, product, platform, and public sector leadership to influence Sierra's roadmap, market strategy, and repeatable solutions for government.
EXAMPLE PROJECTS
These are the kinds of projects that strategists on our public sector team have worked on recently:
- Improve access to benefits and services. Launch an agent that helps residents understand eligibility, gather the right information, and navigate a complex application or recertification process across channels and languages.
- Modernize constituent support. Design an agent that answers policy and program questions, provides case or application status, and routes sensitive or exceptional situations to the right public servant with full context.
- Make critical reporting easier and safer. Build trusted conversational experiences for reporting fraud, safety concerns, or other high-stakes issues while meeting rigorous privacy, security, accessibility, and auditability requirements.
- Enable proactive government services. Create a roadmap for outbound agents that remind people about deadlines, explain program changes, or help them complete important next steps before a benefit or service is interrupted.
- Build repeatable public sector capabilities. Use a live agency deployment as a design partnership to shape new platform capabilities, evaluation standards, or implementation patterns that can serve institutions across federal, state, and local government.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Ownership and delivery. A track record of leading multiple complex, high-visibility initiatives and driving cross-functional teams from an ambiguous starting point to measurable outcomes - for example as part of an early team, consultancy, or otherwise..
- Technical aptitude. Comfort engaging directly with technical concepts, including reading API documentation, understanding data models and system architecture, and following engineering and security tradeoffs in design discussions.
- Commitment to public service. A passion for public sector work and a belief in the potential of institutions to improve outcomes for the people and communities they serve.
- Communication. Clear, direct, and persuasive communication across executive, operational, policy, and technical audiences, with the ability to turn complexity into shared decisions.
- Strategic problem-solving in ambiguity. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to break down complex problems, spot risks early, and adapt as policy, stakeholder, or implementation conditions change.
EVEN BETTER...
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM agents in production — hands-on with the tools behind them (eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, prompt engineering) — working closely with technical counterparts.
- Experience working in or with federal, state, or local government, including familiarity with procurement, security and compliance, accessibility, policy implementation, or systems integration.
- You’ve been a founder, founding team member, or operator — you know how to balance craft, ownership, and speed.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience — and/or an MBA or comparable experience at the intersection of technology and business.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.
WHAT WE OFFER
We want our benefits to reflect our values and offer the following to full-time employees:
- Flexible (unlimited) paid time off
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits for you and your family
- Life insurance and disability benefits
- Retirement plan dependent on country of employment
- Parental leave
- Fertility and family building benefits through Carrot
- Lunch, as well as delicious snacks and coffee to keep you energized
- Discretionary benefit stipend giving people the ability to spend where it matters most
- Free alphorn lessons
These benefits are further detailed in Sierra's policies, may vary by region, and are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefits plans. Eligible full-time employees can participate in Sierra's equity plans subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
BE YOU, WITH US
We're working to bring the transformative power of AI to every organization in the world. To do so, it is important to us that the diversity of our employees represents the diversity of our customers. We believe that our work and culture are better when we encourage, support, and respect different skills and experiences represented within our team. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description. We strive to evaluate all applicants consistently without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, pregnancy, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, citizenship, or any other legally protected class.

- We work with some of the world's most influential and recognizable companies, from global telecommunications providers and leading media brands to technology platforms that power businesses worldwide.
- We build agents for the moments that matter, helping our customers rise to the occasion when service disruptions, major product launches, or global events like the World Cup https://www.linkedin.com/posts/claybavor_at-sierra-we-are-very-proud-to-have-partnered-share-7491200202284945410-Bg79/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAABYjELMBZfjrg-wrv53M1tVXGe93FF3eTww drive millions of customer interactions.

ABOUT THE RETAIL TEAM
- Sierra is partnering with a large and growing number of retailers - spanning apparel and beauty, grocery and big-box, home and auto, consumer services, marketplaces, and consumer technology. Our agents help millions of shoppers and members every day: tracking and returning orders, finding the right product, booking services, and resolving issues in each brand’s own voice.
- Retail is also where AI agents go beyond support to generate revenue. From product discovery and personalized recommendations to cart recovery, win-back campaigns, and in-store support that turns unanswered store calls into visits and sales, our team is redefining what an agent can do for a brand’s top line - not just its cost line.
- Join us to transform how the world’s most-loved consumer brands engage their customers - and help build technology that makes shopping more personal, effortless, and delightful for everyone.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As an Agent Strategist https://sierra.ai/blog/agent-strategist-your-phd-in-applied-ai, you own how Sierra’s AI agents come to life for our customers — from first pilot to a production agent handling thousands of conversations a day.
Take agents from initial scope through conversation design, tooling, and evaluation, to launch and continuous iteration in production — translating business goals into an agent that outperforms, and tuning relentlessly until it’s the best version of itself in the real world. You’ll have real ownership and autonomy over the outcome.
- Be the trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders. Sit shoulder-to-shoulder with our customers’ executives, understand what success actually means to their business, and shape the AI strategy that gets them there.
- Partner with the customer’s working teams day to day. Run working sessions, troubleshoot the agent as issues come up, and make the calls that keep the build on track for launch.
- Directly impact product. Surface unmet needs from your customer work, and feed them back to research and platform to shape where Sierra goes next.
EXAMPLE PROJECTS
These are the kinds of projects that strategists on our team have worked on recently:
- Launch an order management agent for a national apparel brand — order lookup, cancellations, returns, and exchanges — then hill-climb containment and CSAT week over week.
- Partner with Product to build a shopping agent that plugs into a retailer’s existing search and recommendation systems to guide product discovery — turning the support channel into a revenue channel.
- Stand up an in-store support voice agent for a big-box or grocery retailer, answering the stock-check and store-info calls that largely go unanswered today and converting them into store visits and sales.
- Design a booking, payments, and outbound agent for a consumer services brand operating hundreds of locations.
- Help a marketplace handle order status and buyer–seller disputes at enormous scale.
- Launch outbound campaigns — cart recovery, win-back, churn saves, and subscription renewals — across voice and SMS.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Customer obsession. Genuine energy being in front of customers — understanding their business and needs, thriving in complex organizations, and building trusted relationships.
- Communication. Clear, direct, and persuasive across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic problem-solving in ambiguity. Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to break down complex problems, spot risks early, and adapt as things change fast.
- Technical aptitude. Comfortable engaging directly with technical concepts - reading API documentation, understanding data models and system architecture, and following engineering tradeoffs in a design discussion.
- Ownership and delivery. A track record of running multiple complex, high-visibility projects at once and driving them to outcomes.
- Interest in retail and consumer experiences. Experience in e-commerce, retail technology, marketplaces, or consumer brands — and familiarity with commerce and CX stacks (e.g., commerce platforms, order management systems, contact center software) — is a strong plus.
EVEN BETTER...
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM agents in production — hands-on with the tools behind them (eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, prompt engineering) — working closely with technical counterparts.
- You’ve been a founder, founding team member, or operator — you know how to balance craft, ownership, and speed.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience — and/or an MBA or comparable experience at the intersection of technology and business.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses.

- Redesign the conversation flows for a financial services agent so it can handle complex, regulated interactions — and convert a pilot into a multi-team production deployment. See our financial services blog https://sierra.ai/blog/five-ways-to-use-ai-agents-financial-services for examples.
- Partner with product on a net-new capability — a new agent architecture or self-service tooling — using a live customer as the design partner.
- Define the evaluation and quality bar for a new agent, then use those metrics to drive a measurable lift in outcome https://sierra.ai/blog/outcome-based-pricing-for-ai-agents week over week.

ABOUT MISTRAL
Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions: from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute. We partner with enterprises tackling the hardest problems across high-stakes industries like finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector, co-creating customized AI systems that they can run on their terms.
We are a dynamic, collaborative team passionate about AI and its potential to transform society. Our diverse workforce thrives in competitive environments and is committed to driving innovation. Our teams are distributed between Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are creative, low-ego and team-spirited.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join Mistral AI’s Defense team to build software for defense institutions and industry.
We are looking for an experienced software engineer with strong engineering fundamentals and a background in data engineering or transactional, analytical or distributed systems. You will help shape the architecture, write production code and own substantial software components, from design through deployment and operation.
This role offers the scope and autonomy of a senior technical individual contributor in a small team. It is particularly suited to engineers operating at Senior or Staff level in demanding product engineering environments who want broad ownership and to stay deeply involved in implementation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design and build services for data ingestion, transformation, storage, querying and operational workflows.
- Develop shared data models, APIs and SDKs that help engineers build applications on a consistent foundation.
- Make authorization a core part of the architecture: define and enforce which users, applications and agents can access data or perform actions, with clear audit trails.
- Solve problems involving data consistency, schema evolution, concurrency, performance and failure recovery across services and data systems.
- Turn needs from our applied engineers and defense users into reusable software capabilities, making pragmatic choices about what to build and how to evolve them.
- Own delivery end to end, including implementation, testing, observability, debugging and maintainability in demanding deployment environments.
- Use AI coding tools and coding agents extensively to accelerate implementation, testing, refactoring and debugging. Help the team improve these workflows while maintaining a high engineering standard.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong practical familiarity with AI coding tools and agentic engineering workflows. You use coding agents regularly, can break complex work into well-scoped tasks, provide effective context, review generated code and validate the result through tests and debugging. You remain accountable for the architecture, correctness, security and maintainability of what you ship.
- A strong track record of building and operating production software, with substantial ownership of complex systems.
- Experience in data engineering or in building transactional, analytical or distributed systems. You understand the trade-offs behind data models, storage, query execution and service boundaries.
- Experience building products where access control, permissions and data governance are central to how the system works. Work on platforms such as Foundry, or systems with comparable requirements, is particularly relevant.
- Broad software engineering skills and the ability to move between architecture, implementation and production debugging. You are comfortable working across unfamiliar parts of a codebase.
- Strong proficiency in Python or another programming language, solid SQL skills and the ability to become productive quickly in a Python and TypeScript environment.
- High autonomy and sound judgment: you can turn an ambiguous problem into a concrete plan, make technical decisions and deliver useful increments with limited supervision.
- A collaborative approach to technical leadership through code, design discussions, reviews and mentoring, and a clear motivation to build software for defense institutions and industry.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience building a data platform or developer product used by other engineering teams.
- Experience with fine-grained authorization, multi-tenant architectures, data lineage or auditable operational workflows.
- Experience with self-hosted software, restricted networks or other demanding deployment constraints.
- Familiarity with LLM applications and their integration with data and tools.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance. Benefits vary by country and may include healthcare coverage, parental leave, retirement plans, relocation support, wellness programs, meal and transportation allowances, and other location-specific perks.
