About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Training and serving frontier AI models requires compute infrastructure at a scale and density that pushes past what conventional data center designs were built to handle. Anthropic’s Data Center team is responsible for delivering that physical infrastructure — partnering with build partners, equipment manufacturers, and utilities to stand up facilities that can reliably power some of the largest accelerator clusters in the industry.
As a Data Center Electrical Engineer based in the US, you’ll lead the electrical design of our facilities across our rapidly expanding US portfolio — owning the architecture from the utility service entrance through to the rack. You’ll develop and maintain the reference designs and specifications our build partners work against, review their engineering submittals, and run the analysis needed to make confident decisions on topology, redundancy, and equipment selection. You’ll ensure the electrical architecture keeps pace with rapidly increasing rack densities and the unique load characteristics of large-scale ML training.
A central part of this role is speed-to-capacity through prefabrication and modular construction. You’ll help drive Anthropic’s offsite-manufactured electrical strategy — modular skids, e-houses, and prefabricated power assemblies — that compress schedules and reduce onsite labor. You’ll bring deep familiarity with US electrical codes and the local network and regulatory environment, and act as Anthropic’s on-the-ground electrical subject-matter expert with local utilities and interconnection/transmission operators (e.g., ISOs/RTOs), agencies having jurisdiction, vendors, and contractors. This is also a highly cross-functional role: you’ll work with our hardware and compute teams to translate accelerator requirements into electrical design criteria, and with supply chain to qualify regional equipment vendors and create optionality in a constrained market.
Responsibilities
Electrical design & engineering
Lead the electrical design of critical data center equipment across the US portfolio, including utility interface and substation, site-wide medium-/high-voltage infrastructure, generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switchgear, transformers, and grounding systems.
Develop and maintain Anthropic’s electrical basis of design, reference architectures, and technical specifications for critical power distribution — covering switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, busway, and rack power delivery — producing designs that meet or exceed our quality requirements while staying within budgetary targets.
Perform and validate engineering studies including short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, load flow, and power quality analysis; use findings to steer design decisions and equipment selection.
Read, interpret, and validate data center floor plans and technical drawings, and design and plan DC hall layouts for newly allocated spaces — including rack positioning, structured cabling, power distribution, and coordination with the cooling design.
Prefabrication & modular delivery
Drive Anthropic’s prefabricated and modular electrical strategy — developing modular skids, e-houses, and prefabricated power assemblies, and partnering with external engineering and manufacturing teams to evaluate DC construction efficiency opportunities and a productization roadmap that accelerates deployment and reduces onsite labor.
Design for offsite manufacture and onsite assembly: coordinate the interface between prefabricated components and onsite installation, and manage temporary power sequencing tied to commissioning milestones.
Drive standardization of modular electrical designs across sites to accelerate deployment timelines while preserving flexibility for site-specific constraints and evolving hardware generations.
Partner, vendor & utility coordination
Review and approve electrical design packages, submittals, and shop drawings from build partners and MEP consultants, ensuring designs meet capacity, reliability, and maintainability requirements; review proposed technologies and clarify design justifications.
Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment, and partner with supply chain to build a diversified vendor base that mitigates lead-time and single-source risk.
Work with local utilities and interconnection/transmission operators (e.g., ISOs/RTOs) to understand and define site utility and network connection requirements, and with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70/NEC), NFPA, IEEE, and ANSI requirements, and other jurisdictional requirements.
Present findings and proposals to internal stakeholders and DCO teams through clear reports and presentations, and defend design positions when challenged.
Delivery, construction & commissioning
Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to and during construction; coordinate and oversee the implementation of data center infrastructure with vendors, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring work follows approved designs and complies with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
Work with commissioning teams to test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems; resolve field engineering issues and review test results against design intent.
Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographies, and travel to sites for design review, electrical systems audits, engineering evaluations, and startup support alongside onsite field engineers.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Anthropic’s internal electrical design standards and delivery practices, and act as a leader within the global engineering group and across the internal and external teams that support our data centers.
You may be a good fit if you
Have 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, with substantial time spent on data center or other high-availability electrical distribution design across the project lifecycle — from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
Have deep familiarity with US electrical codes and standards — including the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70/NEC), NFPA 70E (electrical safety), IEEE standards (e.g., 1584 for arc flash), and UL/ANSI equipment standards (e.g., UL 891, UL 1558 for switchgear) — and with local utility interconnection and regulatory requirements (utility interconnection processes, ISO/RTO market rules).
Have hands-on experience with prefabricated and modular data center electrical infrastructure — design for offsite manufacture, modular skids/e-houses, and the coordination between prefabricated components and onsite assembly.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; RPEQ or CPEng registration (or eligibility) is valued but not required.
Have hands-on experience producing and reviewing electrical construction documents, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications, and can interpret data center schematics and technical layouts with confidence.
Have strong knowledge of rack layout, structured cabling, power distribution, and cooling infrastructure in high-availability data center environments.
Are fluent in power systems analysis and comfortable running or critically reviewing studies in tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
Understand critical power topologies (2N, N+1, distributed redundant, block redundant) and can articulate the trade-offs between them for different reliability and cost targets.
Have worked directly with electrical equipment manufacturers, vendors, and contractors, and can evaluate products on technical merit, not just datasheet claims.
Communicate clearly with both technical peers and non-specialist stakeholders, and are results-oriented, with a bias toward practical solutions and a willingness to pick up work outside your core remit when the team needs it.
Strong candidates may also have
Direct project experience delivering data centers in multiple US markets (e.g., Virginia, Texas, Arizona, Ohio, Oregon) and deep familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, and the IEEE color book series alongside the US standards above.
A track record building modular prefabricated products in electrical or mechanical areas of the data center, and driving designs toward offsite manufacturing.
Background in medium-/high-voltage distribution, on-site generation, or energy storage integration, including battery energy storage systems (BESS) and renewable generation sources.
Exposure to liquid-cooled infrastructure and its implications for electrical room layout and load distribution.
Prior work at a hyperscaler, colocation provider, or MEP consultancy serving large data center clients.
Experience driving reference designs or standards adopted across multiple sites or by external partners.

Prefabrication & modular delivery
Drive Anthropic’s prefabricated and modular mechanical strategy — modular cooling skids, prefabricated piping and pump assemblies, and design for offsite manufacture and onsite assembly — to accelerate deployment and reduce onsite labor.
Drive standardization of modular mechanical designs across sites while preserving flexibility for site-specific constraints and evolving hardware generations.
External partner & vendor coordination
Serve as the primary mechanical engineering point of contact for external developers, design engineers, and construction partners across the U.S. portfolio.
Develop scopes of work, equipment specifications, and bid packages for mechanical infrastructure.
Perform technical due diligence on third-party and colocation facilities, evaluating mechanical designs against program requirements and redundancy targets.
Coordinate with equipment vendors and manufacturers on cooling system procurement, including chillers, CDUs, pumps, and piping assemblies, and partner with supply chain to mitigate lead-time and single-source risk.

Conduct site visits to review progress, resolve field issues, and validate construction quality; travel to sites across the region as needed.
Support testing and commissioning of mechanical systems; analyze data and troubleshoot issues against design intent.
You may be a good fit if you
Have 10+ years of experience designing building mechanical systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities, across the project lifecycle from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
Have deep familiarity with U.S. mechanical, plumbing, and fire codes and standards — including the International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), International Building Code (IBC), NFPA 13 (automatic sprinkler systems), ASME B31 piping codes, and applicable state and local amendments, alongside ASHRAE guidance (incl. TC 9.9).
Have strong knowledge of chilled-water systems, air-cooled cooling plants, liquid cooling (direct-to-chip and CDUs), and redundant piping configurations.
Have hands-on experience with prefabricated and modular mechanical infrastructure — modular cooling skids, prefabricated piping assemblies, and design for offsite manufacture.
Have experience driving and reviewing mechanical design work produced by external engineering consultants, and are proficient reading and marking up construction drawings, P&IDs, and single-line diagrams.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Professional Engineer (PE) license (or eligibility) is valued but not required.
Communicate clearly and can drive technical decisions across internal teams and external partners, and are results-oriented with a bias toward practical solutions.
Are able to travel up to ~30% to data center sites across the region.
Strong candidates may also have
15+ years of experience designing building mechanical systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
Direct project experience delivering data centers in multiple U.S. markets (e.g., Virginia, Ohio, Texas, Arizona, Oregon).
Experience with thermal-hydraulic modeling software (AFT Fathom, Cadence 6SigmaET, ANSYS, or similar), CFD modeling, and energy analysis.
Familiarity with controls/BAS systems and sequences of operation for cooling plants.
Experience preparing SOWs, facility audits, and TCO analyses.
A track record building modular prefabricated products in mechanical or electrical areas of the data center, and driving designs toward offsite manufacturing.
Proficiency with Revit MEP or AutoCAD MEP.

Anthropic's R&D teams depend on a large and fast-growing ecosystem of outside service providers. The biggest and most complex piece of it is Human Data Operations (HDO): vendors that supply the human-generated data, evaluations, and expert feedback our research depends on. Alongside HDO is a growing set of other R&D services, including labs, outsourced and outsourced service providers, and other specialized service partners that our research and special-initiative teams rely on.
We are hiring a Strategic Sourcing Business Partner to own the commercial side of this portfolio. Today these vendors have business owners and Procurement Operations support, this role will drive real ownership of the commercial terms end to end including contracts redlines, deployment of contract templates, and the negotiation.. There is significant untapped value in this portfolio (in pricing, in contract terms, and in vendor performance), and this role exists to go get it.
The job has four parts: run the contracts (redlining, templates, and renewals). This person will lead the commercial negotiations, partnering with the business to positively influence decision-making and deal structure, and manage vendor performance once the deal is signed. Success means moving fluidly between the deal and the relationship: negotiating strong terms, then executing against them through QBRs, SLA enforcement, and escalations as our needs change.
We use Claude as part of our daily workflow and are looking for someone who wants to help define what an AI-native sourcing function looks like, including how AI changes deal-making and vendor management itself over the next few years.
How this role fits within Procurement
Procurement Ops Business Partners own the primary relationship with each business vertical and are the front door for intake and day-to-day requests. Strategic Sourcing partners closely with them and owns the commercial outcome: negotiation strategy, contract terms and redlines, contract compliance, ongoing vendor performance, and sustained value creation for the leaders of these verticals working closely day to day with Legal (legal positions, templates, terms), Finance & Strategy (budgets, forecasts, and strategy), and Security / TPRM (risk assessment, approvals, process).
Responsibilities
Contract management and templates
Own the commercial redline for HDO and R&D services agreements (MSAs, SOWs, order forms, amendments, and renewals), partnering with Legal on legal terms, so deals move quickly while maintaining negotiation posture
Build and maintain the template library for these categories (standard MSA and SOW templates, pricing exhibits, SLA schedules, and a fallback playbook) so that most deals start on our paper rather than the vendor's
Run the renewal calendar for the portfolio so that no agreement auto-renews or lapses without a deliberate commercial decision
Keep contract data (rates, volume commitments, SLAs, key dates) current in our contract and intake systems so obligations are visible and enforceable
Negotiations and commercial strategy
Lead pricing and commercial negotiations across the portfolio, from strategy and deal structure through terms, SLAs, and executive alignment; you will personally run the ones that matter most
Build playbooks and Claude-powered tools for redlining, negotiation prep, benchmarking, and vendor reporting that raise the throughput and deal quality of the whole team
Design pricing structures that fit how R&D actually consumes these services (per-unit, per-hour, capacity, tiered, and committed-volume models) and that align vendor incentives with quality and throughput
Build and maintain a competitive bench for every mission-critical category via RFPs and competitive processes: qualified second sources, contracts structured so volume can move as needed, and flexible pricing constructs
Track and report savings, cost avoidance, and improved terms for the portfolio
Vendor management and value creation
Own the vendor management cadence for mission-critical vendors: QBRs, scorecards, SLA and quality reporting, and remedies when performance slips
Manage escalations between R&D teams and vendors and drive them to resolution
Identify consolidation, rationalization, and renegotiation opportunities as volumes shift, and bring executive-ready recommendations to R&D and Finance leadership
Manage TPRM, security, and compliance approvals, audit rights, and data-handling terms in partnership with Security and Legal
Relationships & Partnership
Partner with Procurement Ops BPs and leadership in R&D and special-initiative teams to understand upcoming needs and growth, and get vendor capacity and terms in place ahead of them
Partner with Finance & Strategy on vendor budgets, forecasts, and multi-year cost models for the portfolio
You may be a good fit if you have
7+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, vendor management, or commercial negotiation experience, primarily in services categories (data services, BPO or outsourced operations, lab or research services, managed services, staffing, or similar)
Hands-on contract experience: you have personally redlined MSAs and SOWs, built templates and fallback positions, and know where the commercial value sits in a services contract (pricing exhibits, volume commitments, termination rights, SLAs and remedies, IP and data terms) and when to bring in Legal
A track record of personally leading multi-million dollar services negotiations to strong outcomes, not just managing the process around them
Judgment about where leverage lives and how hard to use it: you can look at a portfolio of many vendors and many concurrent deals and know which ones deserve a deep negotiation and which need a fast, standard path, and you have a reputation with past vendors and colleagues for being commercially tough and fair with partners that need to scale with us
Strong analytical skills: rate and unit-cost analysis, TCO modeling, and pricing model design; you can find the real economics underneath a vendor proposal
Services vendor management experience: SLAs, scorecards, QBRs, and escalations, and how to enforce them without damaging the relationship
Comfort operating at pace: high deal volume, ambiguity, imperfect information, and a bias to execute rather than perfect
Clear, direct communication with executives internally and across the table, including in difficult conversations and escalations
Fluency with AI tools in your daily work and demonstrated experience in rebuilding your own workflows around them
Strong candidates may have
Experience sourcing human data, data labeling, annotation, or evaluation vendors, or comparable BPO and outsourced operations categories, and a point of view on where that market is heading
Experience sourcing lab services, scientific equipment and consumables, robotics or hardware services, or other technical services for a research organization
Experience at a hypergrowth company renegotiating or restructuring vendor pricing and contract structures under the growth curve
Experience standing up sourcing coverage for a category from scratch (templates, playbooks, benchmarks), not just operating within an established program
Experience designing vendor scorecards, SLA frameworks, and performance management programs
Familiarity with the confidentiality, data-handling, and IP terms that matter for research and data vendors
A point of view on how AI will change services vendor relationships and negotiations, backed by things you have actually tried

Go To Market ("GTM") Systems builds and runs the platform that Sales and contracting operate on, a production Salesforce org plus a growing portfolio of custom internal applications and agents. These systems process revenue-impacting transactions, guide critical business processes, and produce data the rest of the company runs on. Today the path from request, development, test, and pull request to production push is manual and slows the team down rather than speeding it up.
We are hiring a DevOps / AgentOps engineer to build and run that path. You will stand up and maintain an AI-first CI/CD pipeline covering both Salesforce and custom application code. This release pipeline will support three modes: fully agentic, human-in-the-loop, and AI-assisted. Anthropic is an unusual place to do this. Our own frontier models are part of the toolkit and the question we want you to answer is what a delivery system looks like when you design it for agents and humans working side by side rather than retrofitting agents into a pipeline built for humans alone.
You will work closely with a team of business systems analysts, software engineers, and integration engineers to develop the solution to accelerate their everyday work. The pipeline you build is the one path to production for a system under audit, so the guardrails, approvals, and audit trail are part of the product, not an afterthought.
Key responsibilities
Design, build, and operate the CI/CD pipeline for a production Salesforce org and a portfolio of custom internal applications, from branching and validation through deploy and rollback
Define how a change is classified and routed into an agentic, human-in-the-loop, or AI-assisted lane, what gates each lane passes through, and how a change escalates between lanes when validation fails or risk changes
Build the agent operations layer: what agents are scoped to do in the pipeline, what tools and permissions they hold, how they are sandboxed differently for Salesforce and custom-app work, and what they are not trusted to do unsupervised
Implement approval workflows that keep PR review and business sign-off as distinct gates, with clear rules for which changes need which, who is asked, and what evidence they see
Own environment strategy, secrets handling, deploy observability, and kill-switch and rollback mechanics across all three lanes
Produce the audit trail and evidence a SOX-scoped platform needs
Measure and report on the pipeline itself: lead time, failure rate, share of work moving through each lane, and where humans are still doing work an agent should be doing
Pair with engineers on the team as they move onto the pipeline, and turn what you learn from them into better defaults
Minimum qualifications
Have built and run a CI/CD pipeline for a team, including the branching model, merge gating, and rollback path, and can explain the choices you made and what you would change
Have hands-on experience with Salesforce deployment mechanics (metadata API, source-tracked development, org-to-org promotion) or a comparable enterprise platform
Work fluently with AI coding tools and agentic workflows, and have opinions about which kinds of engineering work belong in the hands of an agent, which need a human review, and where the boundaries are
Design for the failure case: you think about blast radius, sandboxing, permissions, and what happens when an automated change is wrong before you think about the happy path
Are comfortable working across GitHub Actions or a comparable CI system, infrastructure as code, and the scripting needed to glue platforms together
Write clear design documents and can defend a design to engineers, business approvers, and auditors in language each of them will accept
Preferred qualifications
Have shipped agents or automation that operate inside a production system of record, and have dealt with what happens when they misbehave
Have operated a platform under SOX or a similar audit regime and know what evidence a change-management control actually requires
Have experience with Salesforce DevOps tooling (Gearset, Copado, sfdx-based pipelines) and know where those tools stop and custom work begins
Have run a migration from ad hoc or manual deploys to a governed pipeline and can talk about how you kept a team shipping while you did it
Have built approval or notification workflows in Slack or a comparable tool that people actually used

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Anthropic is building AI systems that will shape the trajectory of one of the most consequential technologies in human history. That work requires physical infrastructure at significant scale, and building that infrastructure the right way means being a real, long-term partner to the communities where we operate.
We are looking for a Community Engagement Manager in Australia to join our Public Policy team and serve as Anthropic's on-the-ground presence in the communities where our data centres are sited, built, and operated. This is not a communications role or a government affairs role, though you will do elements of both. It is a relationship role: your job is to make Anthropic a trusted, visible, and valued neighbour, from the earliest stages of site selection through construction and long-term operations.
You will be the connective tissue between Anthropic's Policy and Infrastructure teams and the local officials, community organisations, economic development partners, and residents who have a stake in what we build. You will surface concerns before they escalate, translate our technical and operational plans into clear local benefits, and build the coalitions that allow us to move quickly and responsibly. Because Anthropic's infrastructure footprint is still early in its growth, you will also help write the playbook: the processes you build in your first markets are the ones we will use as we expand.
You will travel regularly within your region, up to 50% of the time, and occasionally to other Anthropic data centre markets.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain trusted, sustained relationships with local councils, state government ministers and agencies, regional development organisations, community groups, civic leaders, educational institutions, and workforce partners in the data centre markets you cover
Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each of your markets, spanning site selection, pre-development, construction, and ongoing operations
Build external coalitions, host education and listening sessions, and design local solutions that deliver real benefits to the communities where we operate
Represent Anthropic in public forums, town halls, planning hearings, community events, and local media
Monitor community sentiment and local political dynamics, and advise internal teams on risks, opportunities, and the right pace and posture for engagement
Partner with the Real Estate and Infrastructure team to bring community input into how projects are planned, communicated, and delivered, not just how they are announced
Work with the Communications team to develop proactive, locally relevant messaging
Coordinate charitable donations, community investment, and economic development commitments in your markets, including managing not for profit partner relationships
Partner with the Energy and Sustainability team to explain our approach to environmental stewardship and respond to questions about power, water, and land use
Build a community engagement playbook and repeatable processes that scale as Anthropic's infrastructure footprint grows
Minimum qualifications
Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, local council or state government, or a closely related field
Direct experience working for or engaging with local councils, both elected councillors and council staff, and state governments on behalf of large infrastructure, construction, energy, or technology projects, with a working understanding of how local politics and community dynamics actually play out
A skilled relationship and coalition builder who earns trust with a diverse group of stakeholders, and who maintains relationships through difficult conversations
The ability to represent a company credibly in public settings — town halls, hearings, press interviews
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn a complex operational plan into plain language that a local official or reporter can understand and respond to
The ability to work independently, get up to speed quickly on complex policy issues, and manage multiple concurrent engagements across different markets without losing track of any of them
Based in Australia or willing to relocate there, and prepared to travel regularly across the region
Preferred qualifications
7+ years of experience in community engagement specifically on data centre, utility, energy, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects, or in local government
Familiarity with land use, zoning, and planning approval processes at the local and regional level
Experience managing corporate social responsibility programs
Established relationships with economic development, workforce, or civic organisations in the markets this role covers
Experience working with real estate, legal, communications, and policy teams at the same time
A genuine interest in the communities where you work, not just the projects you are managing

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Governments do some of the most consequential work there is: deciding benefits claims, getting veterans to care, investigating financial misconduct, running unemployment insurance, and producing the analysis that world leaders act on. Anthropic's public sector team exists to put Claude in the production path of that work. In the US and some allied governments, Claude is already in daily use across major agencies and US states.
The next steps need a particular kind of product manager: someone who can walk into an institution they have never worked with, sit with the people doing the work and find, alongside them, the workflow that matters. The best government products we know of started as an idea that came out of the room rather than a requirements document.
The scope is large: a product portfolio here is a set of governments rather than a feature area. A year in, success looks like agencies delivering services more effectively because public servants are doing core parts of their job with Claude in the loop, and at least one thing that you learn from them shipping to every Anthropic enterprise. That is a lot of surface; you will have to choose where to go deep, and we will back the choice.
We are hiring across civilian, state and local, govtech, and national security portfolios and will match you to one on background and interest. Some portfolios require eligibility for a US security clearance, though most do not. You would be among the first product managers on the team, working with a dedicated engineering and research team and with the policy, go-to-market, customer success, and applied AI leads who already spend their days inside these agencies.
In this role, you will:
Alongside GTM, run discovery inside government institutions to find where Claude belongs in the production path of their work, then shape the product around what you find
Own product decisions for our government models and product offerings and the agency workflows built on top of them
Spot the government needs worth generalizing and carry them into Anthropic's broader roadmap. Many of Anthropic’s commercial features started as public-sector customer problems
Help Anthropic navigate government compliance regimes
Partner with our cloud and integration partners
You may be a good fit if you:
Have shipped successful products end-to-end. We weigh product judgment above any domain credential
Can point to something you built that was your idea: it came from watching people work rather than from a requirements document
Get things done through teams that don't report to you. In addition to the dedicated team, this role runs through a variety of partner teams inside Anthropic and many offices inside each agency.
Move on your own clock. You have shipped in an organization with a fast cadence, or you set the pace in an environment that didn't
Have built domain intuition fast in large enterprises that do not resemble each other
Are a US person. We have agreements with the US Government that mandate this for these roles.
Strong candidates may also have:
Roughly 7+ years building and shipping products, or equivalent scope
Real intuition for how government operates, earned either from the inside or at a digital services organization or by building products public servants actually use
Taken a public-sector or field requirement into a commercial product that succeeded
Fluency with AI products: evaluations, model behavior as part of the product surface
Shipped inside a FedRAMP, classified, or comparable compliance boundary
Negotiated with or steered large partners such as cloud providers or systems integrators
An active TS/SCI security clearance with the US government (relevant for only some roles)
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
As an Applied AI Engineer on our Enterprise team, your role is to guide some of Germany's largest businesses to the frontier of AI and help them deploy Claude into their operations, their products, and their ways of working. You will become the go-to Claude Platform specialist and trusted technical advisor for your customers, advising their engineering teams on architecture, agent design, and evaluation, and working with the C-level and senior executives who sponsor these programmes to show the business value Claude can create and help them reach a confident decision to build on Claude.
Enterprise deals are different. Procurement cycles are longer, more stakeholders are involved, and success depends on being able to connect the technical work to the outcomes the boardroom cares about. You will be as comfortable advising an engineering team on evaluation and architecture as you are presenting a value case to a CIO or CTO, and you will carry the technical thread across every stage of a multi-quarter engagement. Much of this work happens in German, with German executives and engineering teams, so native or fluent German is essential for the role.
You will partner closely with Enterprise Account Executives and Applied AI Architects to take each customer from first conversation, through technical evaluation, proof of value and procurement, to the decision to build on Claude. Once they have decided, you set their systems integration partner up to deliver, agreeing the target architecture and what good looks like, and you stay close as the customer's technical advisor on Claude throughout deployment, while the partner does the build. Working alongside Anthropic's Product and Engineering teams, you will use your knowledge of the Claude Platform to advise on evaluation, recommend architectures that meet enterprise security and scale requirements, and create the technical and business resources that help large organisations succeed with Claude.

Partner with Enterprise Account Executives and Applied AI Architects to take enterprise customers in Germany from first conversation, through technical evaluation, proof of value and procurement, to the decision to build on Claude
Lead the technical side of each opportunity through to that decision, and remain the customer's technical advisor on Claude as they deploy
Set customers and their systems integration partners up to deliver: agree the target architecture, define what good looks like, and stay on hand to advise the delivery team as the build progresses
Guide enterprise customers to the frontier of AI, advising them on how to deploy Claude into their operations, their products, and their ways of working
Help customer engineering teams see how they would build on Claude, covering architecture, agent design and evaluation, so they can make a confident decision
Build and present the business value case for Claude with C-level and senior executives, in German and English, linking technical capabilities to measurable outcomes such as cost, revenue, risk, and time to market
Guide customers through long, multi-stakeholder procurement and adoption cycles, including technical evaluations, proofs of concept, security and architecture reviews, and a clear path to production
Work with Account Executives on account strategy, deal qualification, and executive engagement plans, and with Applied AI Architects to keep context and continuity across every engagement
Run executive briefings, technical workshops, and enablement sessions for both leadership and engineering audiences
Navigate enterprise requirements around security, compliance, data residency, and governance, working with Anthropic's internal teams where needed
Identify patterns across enterprise engagements and feed insights back to Product, Engineering, and the wider Applied AI team
Travel to customer sites across Germany for executive meetings, workshops, and relationship building
You may be a good fit if you have
Native or fluent German, written and spoken, as you will work day to day with German enterprise customers at both executive and engineering level
6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder

About Anthropic

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
As a Technical Deployment Lead on the Forward Deployed Engineering team, you will lead the delivery of custom agentic AI solutions for enterprise customers. You'll own high-value engagements where we collaborate directly with customers to build and deploy agents into their most critical business processes
Each engagement runs from SOW through production deployment. Forward Deployed Engineers build the technical solution; you drive the delivery plan, product scoping, stakeholder relationships, and the organizational complexity of deploying agents into complex enterprise environments.
You need to be credible in architecture conversations with engineering leads and equally comfortable running executive briefings with C-suite sponsors. You won't write production code, but you'll pressure-test technical decisions and make real-time trade-offs on scope and priority when things go sideways on an engagement.
This is also a builder's role. We're in the early innings of an emerging motion - the playbooks, the delivery patterns, the repeatable IP that makes the next engagement faster and better don't exist yet. The TDLs who thrive here are the ones who get that codifying what works is as important as the engagement in front of them right now.
Responsibilities
Own the technical delivery plan for each engagement. Work from the signed SOW to a sequenced roadmap with clear milestones, dependencies, success criteria, and value hypotheses that FDEs execute against.
Lead delivery discovery. Map customer workflows and constraints in depth, pressure-test the scoped MVP against what you find, and shape the solution architecture with the FDEs.
Run day-to-day engineering execution. Drive delivery across Anthropic and customer teams. Keep progress unblocked and sequenced. Make real-time trade-offs on scope and priority to protect the critical path.
Own product scoping during delivery. Author requirements, prioritize the engineering backlog, manage scope against success criteria, and hold the bar for what good looks like for the people and enterprises who will use the product.
Own the customer relationship throughout delivery. Lead executive briefings, manage stakeholder communications across technical leads and procurement, and represent Anthropic's technical credibility with senior business and engineering leaders.
Own value measurement and ROI. Define impact hypotheses, set baselines and KPIs, run pre- and post-deployment measurement, and report outcomes to executive sponsors.
Contribute reusable delivery patterns. Capture what works on your engagements and feed field signal to the Programs Leads, Product, and Research.
Navigate enterprise and regulatory complexity. Security reviews, legal approvals, procurement processes, compliance requirements, and organizational dynamics.
Manage scope and change. Handle evolving requirements, set expectations, negotiate contract modifications, identify risks early, and escalate with clear context when needed.
Run engagement-level delivery operations: sprint ceremonies, milestone reviews, and engagement reporting that feed the team's post-sales cadence and dashboards.
Travel to customer sites. Build relationships, unblock delivery, and accelerate adoption. (up to 25–50% travel expected).
You May Be a Good Fit If You
Have led AI/ML engagements/deployments, whether as a founder, data scientist, engineer, researcher, or in a professional services or consulting role.
Operate like the CEO of your engagement. You take initiative without a mandate, make decisions with incomplete information, and lead rather than wait for instructions.
Have delivered AI, ML, or LLM-based agentic solutions into production. You understand solution patterns, integration approaches, and what breaks in real environments.
Have experience in a specialized vertical (life sciences, pharmaceutical, retail, mining, agriculture, etc.).
Can navigate architecture discussions with engineering stakeholders, evaluate technical trade-offs, and pressure-test technical decisions. You won't write production code, but you will own the technical direction of engagements alongside FDEs.
Have a track record delivering complex, high-stakes technical projects for enterprise clients where outcomes depended on tight coordination and fast decision-making - ideally across multiple workstreams in regulated industries.
Have executive presence - polished, credible, and comfortable representing Anthropic to senior leaders in high-stakes environments.
Thrive in ambiguity and bring structure where none exists.
Have a builder's mindset - you're here to create a function, not just join one.

Our mission on the Connectivity team is to make Claude the most connected AI. As agents take on more real-world work, we're taking a leading role in defining how they get access to external systems — safely, with the right permissions, and in ways enterprises can trust. We ship standards and services used by claude.ai, Claude Code, Cowork, and the API. We own the MCP proxy that routes every tool call and the OAuth and token management that keeps connections authenticated. We're also core contributors to the MCP spec — now an open standard under the Linux Foundation — and maintain the official Python and TypeScript SDKs.
We're looking for experienced software engineers to join Connectivity. The team spans San Francisco and London, and you'll work closely with partner teams across Anthropic to deliver impact across all of our products. You'll work on problems where reliability and enterprise trust are critical. This means OAuth at scale, admin controls that let IT govern what agents can do, and proxy infrastructure that is reliable by default.
What you'll do
You'll design, build, and operate the core connectivity infrastructure behind external tool calls — the MCP proxy and the OAuth and token management systems that keep connections authenticated. You'll own reliability for infrastructure that other teams and external partners depend on, including SLOs, on-call, incident response, and postmortems. You'll build the admin controls and permission models that let enterprise IT govern what agents can do, and contribute to the MCP standard and its ecosystem, including the spec and the official Python and TypeScript SDKs. You'll turn ambiguous outcomes into shipped, scoped work, dogfooding what you build in the products that consume it.
You'll independently scope complex, multi-month projects, drive cross-org alignment through ambiguous problem spaces, and make architectural decisions that shape how Anthropic builds and scales its products. You'll partner directly with research to productize cutting-edge capabilities, and will have lasting impact on the platform that hundreds of thousands of companies and internal/external engineers depend on every day.
You might be a good fit if you:
Experience as a backend or platform engineer
Familiarity with using AI tools as part of the software development process
Take a product-focused approach to platform work and care about building solutions that are robust, scalable, and easy to use
Take full ownership of your work — from design through build, deployment, and operations, to iterating on and improving your product
Can navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions independently, and have ideally operated in both 0 → 1 and more mature team or company settings
Experience operating production distributed systems, with an understanding of what reliability, observability, and incident response require at scale
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build consensus across teams and time zones
Deadline to apply:
None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Location Preference:
Preference will be given to candidates based in NY, SEA, SF or the Bay Area given the current location of team.

We build and run the secure execution environment behind Claude's agentic capabilities. When Claude writes and runs code, browses the web, or uses a computer, that happens on infrastructure our team owns. We work at the intersection of systems engineering and security. The goal is to make untrusted code execution safe, fast, and reliable enough that product teams don't have to think about it. This is the layer between the model and the outside world, and it has to hold up at scale for every Anthropic product. We're hiring engineers who have experience building for containerized workloads and have a keen eye for building products used by millions of customers.
What you'll do
You'll independently scope complex, multi-month projects, drive cross-org alignment through ambiguous problem spaces, and make architectural decisions that shape how Anthropic builds and scales its products. You'll partner directly with research to productize cutting-edge capabilities, and will have lasting impact on the platform that hundreds of thousands of companies and internal/external engineers depend on every day.
You might be a good fit if you:
Have a minimum of 8 years of practical experience as a backend or platform engineer building scalable distributed systems, ideally operating at tech lead level or equivalent distributed systems, cloud-native products, developer tools, or external developer facing products
Have strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design, ideally having owned both the technical vision and execution of a foundational platform system end to end
Are proficient in Python, Go, Rust, or similar systems languages
Have experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and/or multi-cloud networking
Take full ownership of your work—from design through deployment and operations
Can navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions independently, and have ideally operated in 0 to 1 and more mature team or company settings
Take a product-focused approach to platform work and care about building solutions that are robust, scalable, and easy to us

About the Job:
LaunchDarkly is looking for an Enterprise Developer Advocate to build a new motion from the ground up: education-first technical sessions inside our largest accounts. Most enterprise customers know LaunchDarkly for one thing. Inside those same companies are teams shipping AI features, running experiments, and managing risky releases who have never met us. You'll design and run sessions that teach those engineers something genuinely useful, build internal champions alongside our account teams, and surface expansion opportunities the field can act on. This starts as a pilot, and how it scales will be shaped by what you prove. It's a role for someone who wants to own a motion, not a queue.
Responsibilities:
Build the motion: design the Enterprise Developer Advocacy program from pilot to repeatable practice, including session formats, account selection criteria, readouts, and measurement
Run sessions inside target accounts: deliver education-first technical sessions (agents and AgentControl, safe rollouts, experimentation, runtime control) tailored to each account's stack and use cases
Build champions with the field: partner with AEs, SEs, and CS to identify accounts, find and develop internal champions, and hand off what surfaces cleanly to the teams who should own it
Keep it credible: protect the non-promotional, education-first nature of the sessions; this motion works because it isn't a sales pitch
Prove it with evidence: instrument the pilot, produce session readouts, debrief with reps, and make the scale, adjust, or stop recommendation based on what the data shows
Shape what comes next: as the motion proves out, define how it scales, including the playbook future advocates would run
Qualifications:
A background spanning at least two of: developer advocacy, solutions engineering, developer education, technical marketing
Comfortable in enterprise rooms: you can teach a technical session to fifty engineers and handle hardball questions from a skeptical principal architect
Hands-on technical credibility: you build, demo, and teach, and senior engineers take you seriously
Strong operational instincts: you can run a repeatable program, prioritize incoming demand, and keep commitments to the field
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience.
Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
(Bonus) Experience with feature management, experimentation, observability, or agent orchestration tooling
(Bonus) You've built a customer-facing technical program (workshops, DevDays, office hours) from scratch
(Bonus) Deep enterprise software background: you understand how large engineering organizations make platform decisions
Pay:
Target pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 5:
Zone 1:
San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle
-
$171,200

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is building data center campuses at a pace where several are under construction at once, each moving through design, construction, commissioning, and turnover to an operating partner. Security scope on those projects (the physical protections, the systems that enforce them, and the operational readiness of the company that will run the site) has to be delivered as deliberately as the buildings themselves.
As Lead for Data Center Security Delivery, you will own security through that entire arc for every campus under construction: from groundbreaking, through construction-phase security, through commissioning and milestone acceptance, to a clean handover into full operation. You are the single point of accountability for "the site's security is actually ready", and you will verify that the operating partner has its people, processes, systems, and contractual security obligations genuinely in place before a site goes live.
This is a delivery role, not a watch-the-dashboard role. You'll absorb the day-to-day noise of active construction sites (schedule slips, design changes, vendor coordination, escalations) so the rest of DCSE can stay focused on steady-state operations and systems. And where DCSE's requirements or processes don't survive contact with a real construction schedule, you will have the authority, and the expectation, to rewrite them.
Role boundaries.
This seat is distinct from DCSE's regional security operations leads and from the team's systems-engineering roles. The operations leads own steady-state regional programs (vendors, guard force, incident response) once a site is running; the systems roles build platforms and tooling. This role owns the delivery arc: every site's security scope from construction start through commissioning, acceptance, and handover, after which accountability transfers to operations.
Key responsibilities
You will own the security delivery program across every Anthropic campus under construction: concurrently, from groundbreaking to handover.
Construction-phase security delivery: temporary
site security, contractor vetting and access, protection of installed equipment, and coordination with general contractors and site teams on every active build.
Milestone and commissioning acceptance: define
and maintain the security acceptance criteria at each construction milestone and commissioning gate; run or attend acceptance events (FAT/SAT, punch lists); issue or withhold the security sign-off.
Operator readiness verification: build
and run a structured, evidence-based readiness process proving the operating company is genuinely ready before handover: staffing and guard force in place, SOPs adopted, security systems commissioned and monitored, contractual security obligations demonstrably met.
Clean handover to operations: own the turnover
package (as-builts, test records, credentials, punch-list closure, residual-risk register) and the defined transition from construction-phase to operational security ownership.
Requirements and process authority: rewrite
DCSE's construction-security requirements, delivery processes, and acceptance frameworks where they fail in the field, and codify what works, so each build is cleaner than the last.
Representation and escalation: represent
security in design reviews, owner-architect-contractor (OAC) meetings, and change management; coordinate integrators, general contractors, and operator counterparts on security system installation, testing, and commissioning; surface schedule and readiness risks early, with options, to DCSE leadership and cross-functional partners.
Minimum qualifications
Have personally delivered the physical security scope on new-build data center (or comparable critical-infrastructure) construction projects (design reviews through construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations) and can name the sites and your role on them.
Have run milestone- or commissioning-acceptance processes: FAT/SAT, punch lists, turnover documentation, formal sign-off.
Have held an operator, landlord, or vendor accountable to contractual security obligations, with evidence rather than assurances.
Are comfortable being the person who says "not ready", and can do it in a way that produces a plan rather than a standoff.
Can absorb the operational noise of multiple concurrent construction sites and still drive each one toward its handover date.
Can author requirements, standards, and process documents that get adopted, and are willing to rewrite your own when they fail in the field.
Work through influence with general contractors, integrators, operators, and internal partners; you shape decisions rather than block them.
Preferred qualifications
CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) certification, or commissioning credentials.
Hyperscaler or major colocation new-build delivery experience.
Experience on both sides of an operator/tenant relationship.
Construction management or owner's-representative background.
Experience in regulated or high-assurance environments.
