What you’ll be part of
Garner is on a mission to transform the U.S. healthcare system — and we’re the only proven player doing exactly that. We partner with employers to redesign how healthcare works: applying 550+ proprietary clinical metrics across 80+ specialties to a dataset of 320M+ patients to identify the best-performing doctors, then using compelling incentives to steer members to the care that helps them get healthier, faster.
The result is a rare “win win” — better care and lower costs for both members and employers. In just five years, our work has helped over 2.5 million people access higher-quality care and saved $1B in healthcare costs. We recently raised our Series E and have doubled five years running. If you've ever wanted your work to solve a problem that touches every person in this country, this is the opportunity to do exactly that. You'd be joining a team fundamentally reimagining healthcare in the U.S. — and using AI to scale that impact further and faster than anyone else can.
About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and resilience of the cloud infrastructure powering Garner’s products and AI/ML workloads. This role sits on our Platform Engineering team. You will run the machine: defining and upholding SLOs, leading incident response, and driving the automation and standards that let every Garner engineer ship faster and more reliably. Because our systems directly influence health outcomes for millions of patients, maintaining the highest standards of production quality is imperative. This is an automation-first role: you will use AI tools to continuously convert manual operational work into monitored, hands-free processes, so the role gets more leveraged as you build.
Where you will work:
Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is available for individuals who are comfortable with remote work and occasional travel to HQ.
What you will do:
Run the Machine:
Own the end-to-end reliability, performance, and resilience of Garner’s cloud environments (AWS, Kubernetes), including those powering AI/ML workloads; define, measure, and uphold SLOs across our critical services
Lead Incident Response:
Serve in the on-call rotation, lead incident response, and drive deep-dive root cause analysis, seeing corrective actions through to resolution and rigorously reviewing infrastructure changes
Own Observability:
Build and maintain the monitoring, alerting, and observability systems that let us detect and resolve issues before users feel them
Scale & Optimize:
Translate ambiguous, high-performance scaling requirements into well-defined, automated, and composable infrastructure-as-code deliverables (Terraform); proactively identify and implement cost-efficiency and performance gains across the stack to maximize cloud ROI
Automate Away Toil:
Pay down impactful tech debt and reduce operational toil, using AI tools and automation to convert repetitive operational work into hands-free, monitored processes, and holding our internal platform to the same rigorous standards as our customer-facing products
Enable Engineering:
Build and maintain the deployment and observability standards that empower the broader engineering team to ship AI features faster and more reliably; communicate complex cloud and reliability concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Uphold Security & Compliance:
Ensure our infrastructure and operations meet Garner’s security and HIPAA compliance obligations
The ideal candidate has:
4+ years of hands-on experience operating production cloud infrastructure at scale in an SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering role
Deep expertise with Kubernetes and Terraform in a cloud-first environment (AWS preferred)
A strong track record with production observability: defining SLOs, building monitoring and alerting, and leading incident response and blameless post-incident reviews
Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python or Go, applied to infrastructure automation (experience with Kubernetes APIs a plus)
Experience driving cloud cost-efficiency and performance optimization across compute, storage, and networking
Experience supporting AI/ML or data-intensive workloads in production is a plus
Experience operating in a security-conscious or regulated environment (HIPAA, SOC 2) is a plus
Fluency with AI tools (e.g., Claude) applied to real engineering and operations workflows, or strong motivation to build it fast
A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback
Technologies we use:
AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Istio, Python, Go, TypeScript, Postgres, NATS, Datadog, GitLab
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare.
We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Compensation Transparency:
The target range for this position is $191,000 - $226,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k) with company match, flexible spending accounts, Teladoc Health and more.

The role
You will own and evolve the company’s threat detection and threat-hunting capability. This role defines what “good” looks like for detection and increasingly engineers it directly as capability shifts into Cyber Security.
This is not an alert-triage role. You are here to understand attacker behaviour, convert it into high-fidelity detection logic, and raise the security baseline for the entire organisation.
You will partner closely with Security Operations, GRC and Engineering—setting standards, direction, and expectations—while progressively taking ownership of the most complex and high-value detection and threat engineering work.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Engineering high-fidelity threat detections across endpoint, identity, cloud, and SaaS
- Defining detection standards, principles, and quality thresholds for Security Operations
- Conducting proactive threat hunting based on attacker behaviour, not vendor alerts
- Translating threat intelligence and incident learnings into durable, reusable detections
- Mapping detections to MITRE ATT&CK and real-world attack paths
- Reducing alert fatigue through logic refinement, correlation, and contextual enrichment
- Advising and supporting during high-severity security incidents; contribute to runbooks and escalation playbooks
- Driving the transition of advanced detection capability into Cyber Security ownership
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in detection engineering, threat hunting, or advanced SOC roles
- Deep understanding of modern attacker tradecraft and intrusion techniques across the attack lifecycle
- Hands-on experience buidling detection logic in modern SIEM platforms (e.g Sentinel)
- Proficienty with scripting and programmaining (e.g. Python, KQL) to build detection pipelines and automation
- Willingness to challenge bad detections, weak assumptions, and vanity metrics
- Pragmatic mindset: precision and impact beat coverage theatre
- Experience operating beyond traditional SOC or MSSP models
- Hands-on cloud detection experience (identity, control plane, SaaS)
- Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and frameworks such as PCI DSS, NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO27001, CIS Benchmarks, and MITRE ATT&CK for Cloud.

THE ROLE
You will be a hands-on operator at the heart of the Cyber Security team, helping to run, harden, and continuously improve the day-to-day machinery of security. Where the Detection & Threat Engineer defines what "good" looks like, you help make it real, turning standards, runbooks, and tooling into reliable, repeatable operational practice.
This is a delivery-focused role for an experienced practitioner. You will spend your time in the tooling, in the tickets, and in the detail: enhancing the platforms the team depends on, tightening procedures, and making sure findings, alerts, and remediation work actually get closed out rather than left to drift.
You will partner closely with Senior Detection & Threat Engineers, Application Security, Information Security, Security Operations, and Engineering executing against the standards they set, feeding operational insight back up, and progressively taking ownership of the tooling and procedures that keep security operations running.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Supporting and enhancing security tooling SIEM, EDR, DLP, vulnerability management, and automation platforms including configuration, tuning, and day-to-day maintenance
- Building and improving operational procedures, runbooks, and playbooks so the team's response is consistent and repeatable
- Triaging and handling security alerts, escalating high-severity events, and contributing to incident response under the direction of senior engineers
- Tracking, coordinating, and driving pentest and vulnerability findings through to remediation across engineering teams (ownership, action plans, status, closure)
- Maintaining the accuracy and hygiene of security data asset inventories, finding trackers, and remediation records
- Supporting detection deployment and validation, and feeding operational feedback into detection tuning to reduce noise and alert fatigue
- Assisting with scripting and automation to remove manual toil from recurring operational tasks
- Producing clear operational reporting and metrics on findings, remediation progress, and tooling health
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a Security Operations, SOC, or equivalent operational security role
- Practical experience operating modern security tooling SIEM (e.g. Sentinel), Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools, EDR, and vulnerability management platforms
- Solid understanding of security operations workflows: alert triage, incident handling, and vulnerability/finding remediation lifecycles
- Comfort with scripting to support automation and tooling (e.g. Python, KQL)
- Experience coordinating remediation across multiple engineering or platform teams, and keeping work moving to closure
- Working knowledge of cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure and GCP) and how security operations apply across cloud and SaaS
- Familiarity with common frameworks and standards such as PCI DSS, NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, and MITRE ATT&CK
- A pragmatic, ownership-minded operator: methodical, detail-oriented, and focused on getting things fixed rather than just logged

Great products grow when people experience their value firsthand. We are looking for a Field Marketing Manager to design and scale programs that turn in-person engagement into enterprise pipeline. You will manage a full range of third-party sponsorships and Perplexity-led field events that drive awareness, deepen relationships with senior buyers, and accelerate opportunities.
You will join a small field marketing team as an equal partner, working together to divide the portfolio based on company priorities, capacity, geography, and each person's strengths. This is a hands-on role for someone who can set the strategy and execute every detail. You will work closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Growth, Partnerships, and Customer Success to identify the right audiences, build programs around their needs, and turn each event into measurable business impact.
The ideal candidate is a field marketing generalist who is equally comfortable evaluating a sponsorship, building a regional plan, hosting an executive dinner, working a conference floor, and analyzing pipeline conversion afterward. You may bring deeper experience in sponsored events or owned programs, but you should be ready to operate across both.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-own the field marketing strategy. Work as an equal partner on a two-person field marketing team to build the portfolio around company priorities, target accounts, sales territories, product launches, and pipeline goals. Divide and conquer across programs while maintaining shared standards, visibility, and accountability.
- Turn field engagement into pipeline. Design every program around a clear audience, business objective, conversion path, and follow-up plan, from pre-event outreach through opportunity creation and deal acceleration.
- Own third-party event sponsorships. Evaluate conferences and sponsorship opportunities, recommend where Perplexity should invest, negotiate and activate packages, coordinate speakers and on-site presence, and build the pre-event and post-event motion required to produce a return.
- Run high-impact Perplexity events. Own executive dinners, vertical roundtables, regional roadshows, customer workshops, and hackathons that build pipeline and deepen relationships with senior buyers.
- Align tightly with Sales. Partner with Account Executives, SDRs, and Sales leadership on target-account lists, meeting goals, outreach, on-site roles, hand-raiser routing, and post-event follow-up.
- Represent Perplexity in the market. Lead on-site execution across conferences and owned events, including messaging, booth or venue experience, executive participation, customer meetings, and post-event conversion.
- Build integrated campaigns around field moments. Work with Product Marketing, Growth, Lifecycle, Social, Comms, and Partnerships to extend events through targeted outreach, content, digital programs, and sales activation before and after each moment.
- Own execution end to end. Manage agencies, vendors, venues, budgets, timelines, run-of-show, staffing, production, and contingency planning while maintaining a high bar for attendee experience.
- Measure outcomes, not activity. Instrument the path from invited account through registration, attendance, meeting, opportunity, and revenue. Track cost per attendee, meetings held, target-account engagement, sourced and influenced pipeline, deal acceleration, and program ROI.
- Build the field operating system. Create the planning cadence, intake process, event tiers, checklists, reporting, and retros required to scale the program and make investment decisions based on results.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in field marketing and event marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology.
- Proven track record building and scaling a portfolio that includes third-party sponsorships, conferences, and company-led field programs, with measurable pipeline or deal-acceleration results.
- A versatile, hands-on operator who can move between strategy, sponsorship evaluation, campaign planning, event production, executive management, on-site execution, and performance analysis.
- Deep expertise in either third-party sponsorships or company-led field events is welcome, provided you have the range and interest to operate across both.
- Strong event planning and execution skills, with experience managing both intimate executive programs and larger conferences, roadshows, or customer events.
- Collaborative and low-ego, with experience working alongside a peer to divide a large portfolio, make tradeoffs, share context, and step into each other's programs when needed.
- Excellent relationship builder who can engage senior executives, customers, prospects, Sales teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners with equal ease.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling event narratives, executive briefs, and field campaign plans.
- Analytically rigorous, with experience setting targets, managing budgets, working with CRM data, and reporting sourced and influenced pipeline.
- Highly organized, resourceful, and calm under pressure, with the judgment to solve problems quickly when plans change on site.
- Willingness to travel frequently for event management and field activations.

Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Render is seeking a foundational Account Manager to build and nurture relationships with our fastest growing and highest potential customers. Our product-led growth model has attracted a significant number of high-growth companies who have scaled their usage organically, and as they grow, it's critical that we evolve from just a self-service solution into a proactive business partner. This role is pivotal in demonstrating Render's long-term value and scalability, owning the commercial health of the relationship, and ensuring our customers achieve their business objectives on our platform.
As the primary business owner for a portfolio of Render's most important customers, you will be responsible for understanding their strategic goals, leading commercial conversations, and driving adoption and expansion. You will proactively identify and mitigate churn risks by reinforcing our value proposition against alternatives managed platform services and hyperscalers. Working in close partnership with our Customer Engineers, you will provide a holistic experience that combines deep technical guidance, knowledge/best practices sharing and ultimately securing our position as a long-term partner in their success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage a large book of ~300 commercial accounts using a 1-to-many, programmatic engagement model—delivering consistent value at scale through proactive outreach and enablement.
- Build and run scalable programs that drive adoption and expansion (e.g., onboarding journeys, product education series, lifecycle campaigns, webinars/office hours, and targeted nurture motions).
- Proactively share best practices, playbooks, and technical guidance in partnership with Customer Engineers—helping customers succeed through self-serve resources and repeatable workflows.
- Identify and prioritize accounts for targeted, higher-touch interventions using health signals and product usage data; mitigate churn risks through timely education and clear next steps.
- Own and execute contracting motions across your book, including renewals, annualization/commit motions, and standard commercial expansion—working closely with Sales, RevOps, and Legal to remove friction.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Support to surface customer insights and influence the programs, content, and product improvements that will most impact scaled customers.
- Track and report on program performance (adoption, retention, renewal/commit conversion, expansion) and continuously iterate based on results.
- Represent Render with authenticity, curiosity, and technical credibility in every customer interaction.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Has 5+ years of proven experience in a customer-facing role such as Account Management or Customer Success, preferably in the cloud infrastructure or developer tooling space.
- Possesses a commercial mindset with a track record of successfully managing renewals, identifying expansion opportunities, and negotiating contracts
- Is familiar with using product usage data or analytics to identify customer health risks and expansion opportunities.
- Is a strategic thinker who can connect the dots between a customer's technical challenges and their overarching business goals.
- Excels at building rapport and trust with a wide range of stakeholders from senior engineers to C-level executives.
- Is savvy with product-led growth (PLG) environments and understands how to engage customers who initially adopted a product through a self-service motion.
- Is a builder who thrives in ambiguity. You are energized by the opportunity to shape a new function and create processes, not frustrated by the lack of standardized playbooks.
- Has a strong sense of empathy and a genuine passion for helping developers and engineering teams succeed.
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Background at high-performing developer-facing hyper growth tech companies.
- Experience with hyperscalers and / or cloud platform solutions.
- Experience helping customers migrate from hyperscalers to managed platform solutions.
- Experience as a founding or early member of an Account Management or Customer Success team, with a demonstrated ability to help build playbooks and processes from the ground up.

Our vision is to make every customer touchpoint more relevant, useful, and joyful by combining reusable experience capabilities with personalization, merchandising, experimentation, and intelligent decisioning.
We are looking for a
Staff Software Engineer
to help lead the evolution of our Dynamic Experience Management platform, allowing teams to create and optimize experiences without requiring bespoke implementation for every client, iterating rapidly.

Responsibilities
Define and drive the technical direction for our experiences client SDK, translating the adaptive-experiences vision into an incremental, production-ready architecture.
Design and evolve the platform-independent composition layer, public TypeScript APIs, versioned schemas, content adapters, component model, data bindings, and platform renderer contracts.
Build reusable experience primitives and native rendering capabilities that support responsive layouts, personalization, experimentation, telemetry, accessibility, localization, and platform-specific interaction models.
Establish safe coexistence and migration patterns, including backward compatibility, capability negotiation, validation, feature flags, fallbacks, rollback, and observability.
Profile and optimize bundle size, startup and time-to-interactive performance, memory usage, rendering behavior, and runtime reliability on resource-constrained client platforms.

Strong software architecture and API design skills, including modularity, dependency management, versioning, backward compatibility, and incremental migration of large production systems.
Experience building data-driven or server-driven user interfaces, reusable component systems, or runtime composition frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and improve client performance and reliability using profiling, telemetry, automated testing, and production observability.
Experience designing for more than one client environment, such as console, mobile, web, TV, or embedded platforms, with a practical understanding of platform-specific constraints.
Proven track record of solving ambiguous, cross-functional problems with minimal direction and driving alignment without relying on formal authority.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document architecture and explain complex technical decisions clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with console development, living-room interfaces, focus-based navigation, or performance-constrained native clients.
Experience with schema-backed declarative UI, domain-specific languages, JSON Schema, component expansion, data binding, hydration, or client-side rendering engines.
Experience building or integrating client SDKs, content management or merchandising systems, personalization platforms, experimentation frameworks, or design systems.
Experience migrating a large client application away from a legacy rendering or content-delivery framework using staged rollout, compatibility layers, and measurable exit criteria.
Experience developing platform adapters or renderers for iOS, Android, web, or other native client environments.
Familiarity with content and layout separation, runtime content sources, telemetry provenance, accessibility, localization, and safe fallback behavior.
Experience with developer tooling, visual preview systems, contract testing, schema validation, or automated cross-platform regression testing.

About the role
As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across your team and adjacent teams, solving the highest-scope and most complex problems in your area. You will lead large, cross-cutting backend initiatives, drive our modular architecture strategy, and define the standards that let teams move faster without compromising quality, security, reliability, or operability.
This is a technical leadership role that combines deep backend expertise, systems judgment, product judgment, and influence across organizational boundaries. You will work with Product, Frontend, Infrastructure, Security, Data, Engineering Managers, and engineers across product groups, bringing subject matter expertise, and you will do it without relying on formal authority.
Why you’ll love this role
Leverage:
Your work multiplies across teams. The platforms, standards, and architectural decisions you lead determine how quickly everyone else can ship.
Genuinely Hard Problems:
You’ll lead the modernization of a large monolith toward modular, reusable, appropriately independent systems — at the scale of a platform used by millions of users.
Influence Without Bureaucracy:
You’ll shape technical direction across teams through clear written proposals and decision records, and partner with Product and Engineering leadership on platform roadmap and investment trade-offs.
Frontier AI Work:
You’ll lead adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows and define the review, quality, security, and privacy guardrails that make them safe to rely on.
Autonomy:
You’ll thrive in our remote-first, asynchronous organization, where clear written communication and self-direction are the pillars of success.
What you’ll do
Lead Cross-Cutting Initiatives:
Lead the technical design and delivery of large backend initiatives that span teams, and identify and remove systemic bottlenecks across product and infrastructure groups.
Own Architecture Strategy:
Drive modular backend, service, data, and platform architecture. Lead modernization of the monolith and legacy backends toward modular, reusable, and appropriately independently operated systems — while preventing fragmentation and service sprawl.
Set the Standards:
Define and improve standards for APIs, contracts, compatibility, schema evolution, testing, security, performance, observability, operability, and maintainability — plus the build, test, deploy, release, rollback, and production-readiness practices needed to operate modular features safely.
Establish Shared Patterns:
Create the patterns for dependency management, data ownership, eventing, failure isolation, service maturity, and operational documentation. Establish Go service patterns and Kubernetes operating practices where they matter to our production estate, and guide Rust adoption where it solves a real systems, security, performance, or supply-chain problem.
Own What You Build in Production:
Take part in on-call and incident response for the systems your teams own, act as a technical escalation point during complex incidents, and turn what you learn into architectural and operational improvements that prevent recurrence.
Influence and Partner:
Shape technical direction across teams without formal authority, and partner with Product and Engineering leadership on platform-level roadmap decisions and investment trade-offs.
Grow Engineers:
Mentor Senior and Intermediate engineers, shepherd technical debt reduction and reusable patterns that improve throughput, and raise the technical capability of the wider team.
Lead AI Adoption:
Lead team-level adoption of AI-assisted and agentic workflows, including the quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails, and help engineers direct, validate, reject, and course-correct agent output.
What you’ll bring
Cross-Team Technical Leadership:
A sustained record of technical leadership across more than one team or a broad product area.
Deep Architecture Experience:
Deep backend architecture and production experience in complex applications, services, or platforms, including scaling or governing APIs, service platforms, data systems, modular monoliths, or shared backend components.
Modularization in Production:
Experience modernizing a monolith or legacy backend architecture in production, and with modular architecture such as bounded contexts, package encapsulation, ports and adapters, service extraction, event-driven boundaries, or an equivalent approach.
Influence Without Authority:
A strong ability to create alignment through clear written proposals and decision records, so decisions are documented, understood, and adopted without constant escalation.
Product Judgment:
The ability to balance customer outcomes, delivery speed, technical health, reliability, and long-term platform investment.
Mentorship:
Experience mentoring engineers and shaping standards through code review, documentation, and example.
Agentic AI Leadership:
Production experience with AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows, including the ability to evaluate and improve how a team adopts them.
Helpful experience
Go services and APIs at scale.
Kubernetes and cloud-native operations, including deployment, scaling, observability, rollback, and production readiness.
Rust adoption or production ownership for systems, security, performance, or platform components.
Ruby/Rails modularization and large-monolith modernization.
PostgreSQL scaling, data partitioning, queues, messaging, or distributed systems.
Security-sensitive product or software supply chain engineering.
Experience across SaaS, single-tenant, self-managed, or air-gapped deployment constraints.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are hiring our first Sydney-based Product Support Specialists, who will grow our global presence as a team and serve as champions of our unique support brand. You’ll be at the front lines of safely delivering AI to the world by responding to, investigating, and tracking user needs in your day-to-day. Additionally, you’ll help us identify and close gaps in our team’s technical knowledge, provide high-touch support to strategic customers, and demonstrate deep care for how we systematically support customers at scale.
Note: Specialists in Sydney will work 12pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Become an expert in all Anthropic products
Respond to user support cases with a variety of complexity, from simple billing or account questions for individuals to complex API debugging for large businesses
Clearly and empathetically communicate with a wide range of user personas, context-switching between guiding executives in a high-touch model and assisting consumer users at a rapid pace
Manage on-call tasks for high-urgency user issues with extreme ownership. This includes being on critical “pager duty” during APAC hours to ensure 24/7 support for critical queries
Prioritize critically and comfortably adapt to an ever-evolving product landscape
Operate in ambiguity, making informed decisions even in never-before-seen situations
Partner with engineers, teammates, and other internal stakeholders to diagnose and resolve user issues, both individually and at scale
Suggest and drive improvements to increase user satisfaction through support processes, as well as own initiatives that increase efficiency and drive down contact rates
Uplevel our team’s technical knowledge by scoping gaps, working with cross-functional partners to deeply understand relevant nuances, and building resources that grow with our products
You may be a good fit if you
Have experience in providing technical product support within a second-tier, escalated, or priority support team
Are familiar with APIs and technical SaaS products and can deeply understand technical docs with ease
Have demonstrated an ability to thrive in fast-paced, reactive situations while meeting core support metrics targets (e.g., CSAT, SLA, etc.)
Possess strong user empathy and are expert in the lifecycle of a support case; you can read between the lines of a user’s question, put yourself in their shoes, and get at the heart of their needs for a speedy, satisfying resolution
Have crisp but kind written communication skills and a deep care for the details
Enjoy helping others learn about new features and complex concepts
Are persistent and curious; you delight in the hunt of tracking down a bug or issue, and are energized by fixing this for all similar users going forward
Have experience contributing to the foundations of a support team. This is essential, highly valuable, but often unglamorous work, and it is particularly key for this role due to it being among the first Support hires in APAC/ANZ
Are proficient at working in a technical environment and are interested in Anthropic’s products
Possess a deep sense of ownership, and are excited to help us build our team!

We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Compute & Infrastructure Accounting team supports accounting and financial reporting for OpenAI’s rapidly evolving cloud computing, data center, server, equipment, colocation, software and data, and other AI infrastructure arrangements. We’re seeking a hands-on Contract Accountant to support recurring close and day-to-day operational accounting for these costs.
The contractor will translate contract terms, pricing, delivery, usage, invoices, and operational data into accurate accruals, true-ups, journal-entry support, reconciliations, and variance explanations. This role works closely with Compute & Infrastructure Accounting, Technical Accounting, Procurement, Strategic Finance, Data Engineering, and external vendors to resolve exceptions and keep accounting outputs timely, complete, and audit-ready. The contractor will use approved AI tools to reduce manual effort, strengthen analysis, improve documentation, and create scalable operating leverage.
This role does not make final accounting conclusions or approve journals, payments, vendors, contracts, or access; it does not negotiate contracts or commit company funds. Success is measured by accurate and timely close deliverables, well-supported reconciliations, prompt exception resolution, dependable cross-functional communication, and adherence to established controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Close and Operational Accounting
- Prepare and support assigned month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, true-ups, journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, balance-sheet substantiation, and flux or variance analysis.
- Prepare journal-entry support and submissions, including account and cost-center coding; monitor approval, posting, and rejection status and coordinate timely follow-up with authorized employees.
- Perform vendor- and contract-level reconciliations, monitor actuals against accruals, resolve differences, and support recurring management reporting.
- Support lease, fixed-asset, construction-in-progress, and related infrastructure accounting as assigned, including data capture, schedule maintenance, modifications, and period-end entries.
Contract, Invoice, and Data Validation
- Maintain complete and accurate contract and pricing records across new agreements, amendments, credits, delivery or drawdown changes, extensions, and terminations.
- Translate commercial terms into accounting inputs and operating workflows and ensure relevant changes are reflected in recurring accounting processes.
- Validate vendor invoices and operational data against rates, usage, commitments, delivery, resource attributes, and accounting mappings.
- Investigate exceptions, document root causes and resolutions, track open items and bottlenecks, and coordinate follow-up through completion.
Controls, Audit, and Issue Resolution
- Follow established accounting policies, standard operating procedures, close calendars, review requirements, and approval workflows.
- Execute control procedures over source data and workpapers, including completeness and accuracy checks, evidence retention, and reviewer-ready documentation.
- Respond to audit and control requests by assembling tie-outs, schedules, explanations, and source evidence.
- Use company information only through approved systems and devices, follow least-privilege and security requirements, and promptly escalate suspected data, security, or access issues.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner with Compute & Infrastructure Accounting, Technical Accounting, Procurement, Strategic Finance, Finance Systems, Data, Engineering, and external vendors to resolve accounting and operational blockers.
- Communicate requirements, status, outstanding items, and accounting implications clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Escalate unusual contracts, accounting judgments, control exceptions, or access requests with clear context and recommended next steps.
Process Discipline and Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring data-quality issues, process delays, and control gaps, and surface trends and recommended improvements to the appropriate team lead.
- Write clear requirements, test system or process changes, and validate downstream accounting outputs before operational use.
- Improve recurring workflows through standardization, documentation, automation, and tooling; maintain clear procedures and handoffs.
- Use approved AI-enabled tools responsibly to reduce manual effort, strengthen analysis and documentation, and support scalable and agentic workflows while following data-security and review requirements.
- Help maintain consistent execution as systems, accounting requirements, and workflows evolve.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Progressive experience in accounting, audit, advisory, or a related finance function, including hands-on operational accounting.
- Strong month-end and quarter-end close experience involving accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and workpaper preparation.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls, with the judgment to recognize and escalate matters requiring technical accounting review.
- Experience interpreting contracts, invoices, and large operational datasets and translating them into accurate accounting outcomes.
- Advanced spreadsheet and data-analysis skills and experience using an ERP or comparable finance system.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to reduce manual effort, strengthen analysis, improve documentation, and create scalable operating leverage.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, clear documentation habits, and the ability to independently manage high-volume, deadline-driven work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across Finance, Procurement, Engineering, external vendors, and time zones.
PREFERRED
- Operational accounting experience in a technology, cloud-computing, or infrastructure environment.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion and lease-accounting, fixed-asset, or similar finance systems.
- CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Exposure to cloud and compute costs, lease accounting, fixed assets, construction in progress, or related infrastructure arrangements.
- Familiarity with SQL, GitHub, issue-tracking tools, or similar technical tools used to investigate data and process issues.
- Experience in audit-ready, high-growth, or control-focused operating environments.
