Mentor and coach fellow Commercial Account Executives, sharing sales strategies, customer insights, and lessons learned to help elevate team performance and contribute to team goal achievement.
Regularly meet on-site with key customers to develop and strengthen executive-level relationships, ensuring GitLab is viewed as a strategic, long-term partner at the highest levels of the organization.
What you'll bring
Ability to drive complex B2B software sales cycles and build trusted relationships with commercial and Commercialet customers, ideally in a Commercial Account Executive or similar role serving Commercialet customers.
Ability to quickly learn and sell a complex SaaS or DevSecOps platform to commercial and Commercialet accounts, including identifying and breaking into new customers.
Excellence in operational rigor for deal management in Salesforce and Clari (or similar CRM and forecasting tools), with the ability to create reliable forecasts and manage your territory using both insight and data.
Skill in managing and closing larger, more complex deals in the Commercial segment using proven multi-threading, negotiation, and executive coverage strategies.
Self-starter who is a manager of one when it comes to territory account planning, quarterly and annual KPI execution, and driving new business acquisition and expansion through consultative, multi-stakeholder sales motions.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach peers, share knowledge and learnings across the team, and take on additional team-level responsibilities that elevate team performance and collective goal achievement.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate value at all levels of the customer organization, lead clear and compelling customer conversations, and remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
Experience driving adoption and consumption with customers whilst leading your account team.

our values
every day. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers.
How We Work
We are a fully distributed company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote
Little more about the team:
The team builds observability for AI in Honeycomb. We help customers see what their agents are doing, what those agents cost, and where errors happen. We also give them insight into individual conversations so they can debug them. We're bringing LLM and agent observability together, and we own both the data foundation and the product experiences built on top of it. You'll work in a small, cross-functional group of engineers with a dedicated product manager and designer, shipping features customers use in production. If you want to define how people understand and debug AI systems, this is the team for you.
What you’ll do in the role:
Deliver AI observability capabilities end to end, from ingestion to in-product visualizations.
Contribute to the data model and infrastructure that let us observe agents and their ecosystems across the Honeycomb product.
Build systems that analyze and surface AI-specific signals, such as cost, token usage, errors, and anomalies.
Collaborate with product and design partners to make sure what we build is usable, intuitive, and unlocks meaningful user workflows.
Share what you learn about exploring and understanding AI system behavior across conversations and workloads.
Iterate through fast feedback loops and experimentation, and share both wins and failures.
What you’ll bring to the role:
3+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience shipping customer-facing features at a SaaS company, beyond internal tooling.
Full-stack range, with proficiency in backend development (Go and/or Python) and frontend development (TypeScript and React).
A track record of working with product managers and designers.
Regular, hands-on use of AI tools in your day-to-day engineering work.
Experience being on call. You'd join our rotation after about 90 days.
A track record of navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving field where requirements shift and experimentation is a core part of the job.
Bonus: Experience building LLM or agent-powered features in production.
Bonus: Hands-on experience with observability tooling, such as OpenTelemetry.
Base Salary based on level of experience
$218,891
—
$245,946 CAD
What you'll get when you join the Hive:

Time to recharge with unlimited PTO
A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!)

Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents

Lead endpoint and device management programs
: Own global programs for corporate laptops, mobile devices, and endpoint management, ensuring Ants have secure, well-managed devices that enable productivity from day one
Drive IT Operations excellence
: Lead programs that improve IT service delivery, support operations, and the overall Ant experience with technology, driving continuous improvement in reliability and responsiveness
Manage enterprise software and platform programs

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
: Work closely with Security, Facilities, People, Finance, and functional teams across Anthropic to ensure Corporate Engineering programs meet diverse organizational needs
Communicate effectively at all levels
: Comfortable communicating across all levels of Anthropic from presenting analyses, recommendations, and program status to leadership, engaging deeply on technical tradeoffs with engineering teams, and communicating broadly to the entire company
You May Be a Good Fit If You Have
8+ years of experience in IT, Corporate Engineering, or Enterprise Technology, with at least 4+ years leading complex, cross-functional programs
Technical background in enterprise IT systems, including endpoint management, identity and access management, network infrastructure, and SaaS platforms

Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.
To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit

directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Docker AI Gateway is our answer to the complexity of taking AI agents from prototype to production. It’s a powerful, intelligent, and secure control point that eliminates the toil of model orchestration, tool management, observability, and governance—so developers can focus on building incredible AI agents, not gluing together infrastructure.
The Gateway sits at the center of modern AI applications, offering:
- A model and tool routing layer with built-in security and cost optimization
- A familiar OpenAI-compatible interface and MCP server
- Unified observability and policy enforcement
- Auto-RAG, tool injection, session summarization, and more
We’re just getting started—and we need exceptional engineers to help us build the backbone of the future of agent-based development.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and implement core systems powering the AI Gateway, including the model router, MCP gateway, and control plane
- Build infrastructure that supports dynamic model selection/routing, auto-failover, cost-based routing, and policy enforcement
- Own critical capabilities such as secure credential storage, session summarization, caching, and rate limiting
- Develop APIs for developers building with OpenAI-compatible interfaces and the Model Context Protocol
- Build the underlying infrastructure to support evaluation, telemetry, replay, and backtesting for agents and LLM workflows
- Lead architectural decisions and mentor engineers as the team scales
- Performance tuning - caching, session summarization, and rate limiting that keep the gateway fast under real production load
- Contribute to roadmap planning, technical strategy, and cross-functional alignment
KEY PROBLEMS YOU’LL HELP SOLVE
- Building a unified abstraction over fundamentally different model and tool providers without leaking their differences into the developer experience
- Making credential and identity handling for tool access both airtight and fast
- Giving developers real-time and historical visibility into what their agents are doing, with policy enforcement that can't be bypassed
- Keeping latency low and reliability high as traffic scales from early adopters to production fleets
WHO YOU ARE
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience with production-grade systems
- Deep knowledge of distributed and highly scalable systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and API design
- Experience building secure, high-throughput services (e.g., gateways, proxies, load balancers, policy engines)
- Fluency in Go, and/or Rust (both preferred)
- Familiarity with AI/ML platforms or model serving infrastructure
- A strong product mindset—you're excited about building developer-facing tools
- Ownership mentality with a bias for shipping, learning, and iterating
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Bonus Qualifications:
- Prior experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM APIs
- Familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases, or agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI)
- Experience with policy engines (e.g., OPA), observability frameworks (e.g., OpenTelemetry), or API gateways
- Understanding of OAuth2.1, secret management, and cloud IAM systems
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture
WHY JOIN US?
- Work on what’s next: The agent era is just beginning. Help define the infrastructure stack for the next generation of software.
- Own mission-critical infrastructure: Be part of a small team building the backbone of secure, intelligent agent applications.
- Impact at scale: Your work will touch tens of thousands of developers building AI-first applications.
- Engineering excellence: Join a world-class engineering team that values simplicity, code quality, and deep technical thinking.
- Remote-first culture: Work from anywhere with a team that trusts and empowers you.

- Unified observability and policy enforcement
- Auto-RAG, tool injection, session summarization, and more
We’re just getting started and we need exceptional engineers to help us build the backbone of the future of agent-based development.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Set technical direction for core systems powering the AI Gateway 0 the model router, MCP gateway, and control plane - and make sure architectural decisions hold up as usage scales by 10x
- Consistently identify gaps in our infrastructure, process, or tooling before they become blockers, and drive the fix from idea to production
- Take a significant, hands-on role in defining, delivering, and implementing the Gateway's technical strategy, in close partnership with engineering leadership
- Own the hardest, highest-ambiguity problems in the system: dynamic model selection, auto-failover, cost-based routing, and policy enforcement that has to work end-to-end
- Act as the go-to expert for secure credential storage, session summarization, caching, and rate limiting - the capabilities everything else depends on
- Build the infrastructure that lets us, and our customers, evaluate, replay, and backtest agent and LLM behavior with confidence
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, and raise the technical bar for the team through code, design review, and example
- Partner with product, design, and leadership to shape not just what the control plane UI does, but where the product goes next
KEY PROBLEMS YOU’LL HELP SOLVE
- Define the unified abstraction layer across diverse model and tool providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, AWS Bedrock) that the rest of the org builds on
- Architect secure, scalable identity and credential vaulting for tool and model access, trusted enough to run at enterprise scale
- Build the infrastructure for real-time and historical analytics of AI agent behavior that leadership and customers both rely on
- Guarantee that policy enforcement and logging work end-to-end - from prompt to tool to response - with no gaps an auditor (or attacker) could find
- Set the bar for developer experience through intuitive APIs and first-class observability
WHO YOU ARE
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience, with a track record of owning production-grade systems at significant scale
- Deep specialization in distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, and API design - recognized by peers and cross-functional partners as a go-to expert, not just experienced
- Experience building secure, high-throughput services (gateways, proxies, load balancers, policy engines), and a history of making judgment calls other engineers rely on
- Fluency in Go and/or Rust
- A track record of identifying systemic gaps - in architecture, process, or tooling-— and driving the fix across team boundaries, not just within your own
- A strong product mindset, with real experience shaping technical direction rather than only executing against it
- Comfortable operating with wide latitude: given a problem and significant autonomy in how to solve it, including when and who to pull in
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM APIs
- Familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases, or agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGPT, CrewAI)
- Experience with policy engines (e.g., OPA), observability frameworks (e.g., OpenTelemetry), or API gateways
- Understanding of OAuth 2.1, secret management, and cloud IAM systems
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture
- A track record of setting technical standards that other teams or engineers went on to adopt
