Our teams are distributed between Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are creative, low-ego and team-spirited.
THE ROLE
Evaluation is how we decide which models, checkpoints and recipes ship. As a Research Engineer on the Eval Platform team, you will build the infrastructure every science team relies on to measure model quality, and make it reliable, reproducible and fast.
You don't need to have designed benchmarks before. You do need to care about what a score means, and about when a difference between two runs is real.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build systems that keep eval results reproducible and comparable over time, as models, benchmarks and code evolve.
- Run evaluations at scale across our GPU clusters, from model serving to scoring.
- Make eval results easy to access, explore and trust, through APIs and dashboards that researchers use every day.
- Catch broken or noisy evals before they mislead research decisions.
- Support evaluation of agentic, multi-turn and tool-using models.
- Work closely with researchers to turn new evaluation needs into robust, shared tooling.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years building production-grade software, ideally large-scale ML codebases or distributed systems.
- Excellent Python and strong software-design instincts: testing, code review, CI/CD.
- Experience running workloads on GPU clusters (Slurm, Kubernetes, Ray or similar).
- Familiarity with LLM inference and evaluation.
- A product mindset: researchers are your users.
- Self-starter, low-ego, collaborative.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience building or maintaining evaluation harnesses or benchmarks.
- Hands-on experience with inference engines such as vLLM or SGLang.
- Experience with agentic or RL environments.
- Statistics for experimentation: variance estimation, significance testing.
- Open-source contributions to ML tooling.

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
About the Role
We're hiring a Product Manager for Supabase Realtime https://supabase.com/docs/guides/realtime. You'll own the surface area developers use to build live, collaborative and event-driven apps on Supabase: Broadcast https://supabase.com/docs/guides/realtime/broadcast, Presence https://supabase.com/docs/guides/realtime/presence, Postgres Changes https://supabase.com/docs/guides/realtime/postgres-changes, and the capabilities we build next.
You'll work closely with the Realtime Engineering team and with partners across Product Management, Design and GTM.
This role is ideal for someone who's excited about building tools for millions of developers and who has a passion for the types of user experiences unlocked by simple, scalable real-time channels. You should have a nuanced understanding of full-stack application development, including existing and emerging real-time and sync patterns.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- You'll collaborate with customers of all sizes and expertise levels: from an indie developer adding live updates to a side project, to startups building collaborative SaaS, to enterprise teams streaming live data to dashboards.
- You'll own the problem statements and solution rationale behind the Realtime roadmap. This means working with Engineering and Design to shape how Supabase crafts the developer experience for the problems you’ve prioritized solving.

- You'll own Realtime packaging and pricing, working with Pricing, Finance and Billing.
- You'll use data to understand how Supabase developers are using Realtime features: where they succeed, where they get stuck, and what to tackle first.
- You'll keep Engineering, Design and GTM aligned. You'll own the plan of record for what's coming, why, and in what order.
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
MUST HAVE
- 5+ years of Product Management experience on developer tools, or are an ex-founder with equivalent depth. You're comfortable commenting on an architecture doc, following a design discussion, and advocating for the user when trade-offs are required.
- Have owned an app development platform, feature or framework where real-time was core to the developer experience.
- Get your own answers from data. You know what you care about in terms of product instrumentation and are comfortable querying and cleaning your own findings.
- Are comfortable with Postgres and familiar with logical replication.
- Work async by default. Supabase is fully remote. You make decisions in writing and move work forward without meetings.
STRONG SIGNAL
- You have an existing audience among developers, through social media, open source or developer advocacy.
- Worked on a sync engine, local-first or live-query product.
- Worked with gaming, AR or collaborative-tool customers.
- Shipped something using Supabase.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.
- ESOP
Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.
- Tech Allowance
Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.
- Health Benefits
Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.
- Annual Off-Sites
Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.
- Flexible Work
We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.
- Professional Development
Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.

- 60+ countries
- 20+ languages spoken
- Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)
- 540,000+ community members
We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.

BUILDING THE FUTURE OF OPEN FINANCE
Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.
THE TEAM
Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.
We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing Consumer team. The Consumer team at Kraken focuses on building applications that expose Kraken's product offering to the mass market. Trying to onboard the next 100 million people to the benefits of crypto.
This role involves setting the technical direction for our "Consumer" applications — a suite of products aimed at offering the simplest way for our customers to interact with Kraken — and delivering the hardest parts of it yourself. We expect anyone applying for this role to have an extreme eye for detail, a passion for building genuinely world class user experiences, a "ship fast but don't ship shit" attitude, and the judgment to know which is which without being told.
The opportunity
- Own the architecture and delivery of customer-facing Rust backend services powering trading, payments, and crypto experiences — making the design calls on systems that will outlive the feature you built them for
- Take ambiguous, multi-quarter problems from "we think this matters" to shipped and measured, breaking them down so the rest of the team can move in parallel with you
- Own features end-to-end rather than stopping at the API/backend boundary, and raise the bar on what "end-to-end" means for everyone around you — customer experience, frontend impact, and the product problem behind what you're building
- Partner with product leadership to shape the roadmap for a product area, not just execute against it. You'll bring engineering insight that changes what gets built, and own the outcomes and metrics that follow
- Drive initiatives that cross team boundaries — Kraken's trading infrastructure, platform, and other product teams — building the relationships and technical alignment needed to land them
- Multiply the team: mentor mid-level engineers, review designs before code exists, unblock people quickly, and leave behind patterns and standards that make the next feature easier than the last
- Use AI extensively to amplify scope and speed, moving from manually writing code toward orchestrating AI and validating implementation — and help the team do the same, defining what good AI-assisted engineering looks like here
What you bring
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with deep Rust proficiency across network services, asynchronous code, and distributed systems design (RPC protocols, Kafka, event-driven architectures)
- A track record of owning systems, not just features. You've made architectural decisions in production, lived with the consequences, and can explain the tradeoffs you'd make differently now
- Product engineering mindset. You've shipped features from problem → implementation → launch → user impact, with deep understanding of customer experience and product metrics, and you've influenced what got built and what got cut
- Demonstrated impact through others: mentoring, design review, technical writing, or setting standards that changed how a team worked
- Experience driving work that spans teams or orgs, where the hard part was alignment and sequencing as much as the code
- AI-first development approach where AI is already meaningfully incorporated into your workflow; you actively use AI for coding, understanding unfamiliar codebases, crossing technical boundaries, and validating implementations
- Ownership mindset with collaborative spirit. You personally drive features end-to-end, work across backend/frontend boundaries, and operate outside technical silos
- Openness to how the engineering profession is evolving because of AI, prioritizing shipping valuable products over manual code writing
Nice to haves
- Full-stack experience including React/TypeScript or other frontend frameworks — valuable for demonstrating cross-boundary collaboration mindset
- Cryptocurrency or blockchain domain knowledge
- Experience building and scaling products at consumer-focused technology companies, ideally at meaningful user scale
- Experience introducing AI tooling or workflows to an engineering team
Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
OUR COMMITMENT
Payward is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate the diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions, and unique perspectives that everyone brings to the table. We hire based on merit, seeking out people with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgeable about crypto.
We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Results are considered alongside experience and interviews, and are not the sole basis for any employment decision.
