About 1Password
At 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Unified Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world’s most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work.
If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future.
We’re hiring an Intermediate Frontend Developer to join our Device Security team. 1Password helps people use technology safely, and our Device Security initiative is expanding that mission to the devices where work happens. As a mid-level Developer, you’ll help build administrative experiences such as device compliance dashboards and policy configuration tools while contributing to a new product initiative from the ground up. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and infrastructure partners to make complex security information easier for enterprise administrators to understand and act on.
How we’re using AI today
Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- You have 2+ years of experience in software development, including building web experiences with React and TypeScript.
- You have experience developing clear, maintainable frontend components and interfaces for complex product requirements.
- You have worked on products serving large user bases and understand how frontend decisions can affect scalability, performance, and optimization.
- You communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with engineers, Product, Design, and other cross-functional partners.
- You ask thoughtful questions, reflect on what you’ve learned, and use challenges and mistakes as opportunities to improve your technical judgment.
- You’re comfortable using artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted development tools thoughtfully and understand their capabilities and limitations.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Rust or Go, full-stack development with a frontend focus, composable design system components, or security, administration, or device management products.
What you can expect:
- Build and maintain administrative interfaces for enterprise customers, including device compliance dashboards and policy configuration tools.
- Develop intuitive experiences that help administrators understand device security posture, identify risks, and take action.
- Contribute to a new Device Security initiative that is still being shaped, with opportunities to influence product direction and technical solutions.
- Initially contribute to client-side work in related product areas before transitioning more fully to Device Security as the initiative develops.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional partners through planning, technical discussions, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Grow your technical judgment and ownership through mentorship, knowledge sharing, pair programming, and feedback.
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $123,000 USD and $172,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $111,000 CAD and $155,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.
This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Our culture
At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.
You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.
How we work with AI
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.
This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. To us, this means we do ask that you join live interviews without using AI tools so we can get to know how you communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with others.

- Create and fine-tune mathematical configurations for different slot formats, including reel-based, ways/Megaways, cluster pays, grid games, jackpots, and feature buy mechanics
- Define and optimize key game parameters such as RTP, volatility, hit frequency, maximum win, payout distribution, and bonus contribution, ensuring alignment with gameplay and product objectives
- Develop and adjust reel strips, paytables, symbol distributions, free spins, multipliers, cascades, bonus features, and progressive mechanics, including multiple RTP configurations and ante bet options
- Perform large-scale Monte Carlo simulations, validate theoretical and simulated RTP, and evaluate statistical reliability through variance analysis, confidence intervals, and convergence testing
- Prepare mathematical documentation, including PAR sheets, RTP calculations, and supporting materials required for independent testing and certification
- Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of an internal math development and simulation framework, participating in architectural discussions, technical reviews, and implementation
- Evaluate live game performance data, identify potential improvements, and provide mathematical recommendations for existing and upcoming releases
- Partner with producers, game designers, and developers to assess new mechanics, balance gameplay experience, and address mathematical or technical risks
- Help establish consistent math development standards, share technical knowledge, and support the professional growth of other mathematicians
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in slot game mathematics within a game provider or development studio, rather than an operator
- Track record of at least 10 commercially released slot titles, preferably including games with demonstrated market success
- Extensive knowledge of probability, combinatorics, and statistical modelling, with the ability to apply these principles to complex slot mechanics
- Proven ability to build complete mathematical models around defined targets, including RTP, volatility, hit rate, maximum exposure, payout distribution, and feature contribution
- Practical expertise in balancing different slot formats and mechanics, including Megaways, cluster pays, grid slots, bonus buys, jackpots, free spins, multipliers, and cascading features
- Strong understanding of reel and paytable configuration, bonus buy and ante bet mathematics, and multiple RTP variants, with the ability to balance feature frequency, payout sizes, and overall player experience
- Advanced experience in mathematical validation and high-volume simulations, including analytical RTP verification, Monte Carlo methods involving billions of spins, variance analysis, confidence intervals, and convergence assessment
- Familiarity with gaming certification standards and testing procedures, including requirements associated with GLI, BMM, eCOGRA, iTech Labs, and preparation of mathematical reports and PAR sheets
- Ability to independently manage mathematical development throughout the complete game lifecycle, from initial design to final certification
- Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related discipline, preferably at Master's level or above
- Previous involvement in building or improving proprietary slot math engines or simulation frameworks
- Knowledge of mathematical optimization techniques, including genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, and linear programming, for automated adjustment of reels and paytables
- Experience designing mathematical models for crash games, instant-win products, or other alternative gaming formats
- Understanding of the interaction between mathematical models, game clients, and backend systems
- Fluent English for technical documentation, collaboration with international stakeholders, and communication with testing laboratories or regulators
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex mathematical concepts into practical explanations for non-mathematical colleagues
- Willingness and ability to mentor junior and mid-level mathematicians and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
Would be a plus

- Experience developing high-performance simulation software, including multithreading, performance optimization, and large-scale data processing
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and code review practices, as well as software architecture principles such as modularity, well-defined interfaces, and deterministic simulation results
- Contributions to industry research, professional publications, conferences such as ICE, SiGMA, or G2E, or relevant technical communities
What's in it for you
- Opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative iGaming products and influence key technical decisions

An overview of this role
As the Corporate Development Director, you'll help influence how GitLab invests to win: what we build, what we buy, where we partner, and what we should not pursue. This role sits within the Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships team, reporting to the VP, Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships.
This role straddles strategy and M&A engagements. You'll lead research that frames GitLab's options: mapping the markets in and around our AI-powered DevSecOps platform, testing where we have a right to win, and turning that into clear recommendations for the executive team. When the answer is to acquire, you'll drive the deal process end to end, from outreach through close and integration.
Success here is not measured by deal count. It looks like sharper strategic choices: a well-reasoned point of view on our priority markets, investment theses that product and executive leaders rely on, acquisitions that speed up the roadmap when buying is the right answer, and an educated no when it isn't. You'll own the wider market perspective rather than individual product categories, and work with the team's Analyst on the research behind it.
What you'll do
Strategy and research
Own the wider market view.
Research the broader market GitLab competes in, beyond specific product categories: competitive dynamics, AI-native entrants, technology shifts and where value is moving. Collaborate with the team's Analyst on the research and turn the findings into a clear point of view on where GitLab should play.
Build an investment thesis for each focus area.
Work with Product and Engineering leaders to define the problems worth solving, the capabilities GitLab needs, and what it would cost in time and money to get there on our own.
Own the competitive and landscape view.
Maintain market maps and a current read on GitLab's competitors: their strategy, product direction, positioning, pricing, and M&A and funding activity. Produce competitor analyses that show where we lead, where we're exposed and how rivals are likely to move. Flag shifts by competitors, hyperscalers and AI labs that change our options, and bring the implications to Product and the executive team.
Define where GitLab should not play.
Identify adjacencies that dilute focus and markets where the economics or competition work against us. Make the case for a no with the same rigor as a yes.
Build, buy or partner
Run the build, buy, partner analysis.
For each strategic gap, compare the options side by side on speed, cost, risk, control and strategic fit, and bring a clear recommendation.
Deliver strategic clarity to
executives and the Board.
Produce short strategy memos/decks and business cases that set out the decision, the trade-offs and what we give up with each path.
Feed company strategy and planning.
Bring an outside-in view of the market and the inorganic options available into annual and long-range planning.
Work hand in hand with Strategic Partnerships.
When partnering is the right answer, frame the opportunity and hand it to the partnership owner with a clear thesis. When it isn't, explain why.
Deal execution and integration
Own end-to-end deal process management.
Validate target fit against GitLab's our target profile, product roadmap and other criteria, and build the acquisition rationale and business case. Drive our M&A process from intro call through the various steps through to closing and integration.
Evaluate the deal.
Develop valuation, commercial integrity assessment, impact on GitLab's business and provide negotiations assistance to the VP and the executive team.
Lead cross-functional diligence.
Run pre-LOI validation and diligence across Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal and People, and communicate findings clearly.
Drive deal documents with Legal.
Prepare NDAs, LOIs and purchase agreements with GitLab Legal and outside counsel.
Own integration outcomes.
Lead post-acquisition integration as the DRI, measured against the roadmap and business goals in the business case. Bring lessons learned back into the strategy work.
Build the external network.
Maintain relationships with founders, executives, investors, bankers and advisors that bring us early insight and pipeline.
What you'll bring
Strategy and deal experience.
8+ years across corporate development, corporate strategy, strategy consulting or technology investing, including 5+ years leading acquisitions end to end in enterprise software.
Structured strategic thinking.
You form a point of view from incomplete information, test it against data, and change your mind when the evidence says so. You're as comfortable recommending that we stay out of a market as that we enter it.
Market research depth.
Skilled in market sizing, competitive analysis and landscape mapping, and in turning research into a recommendation, not a report.
Deal craft.
Skilled in valuation, financial modeling, deal structuring, negotiation and integration planning, with experience across varied consideration structures.
Technical fluency.
A working understanding of software development, DevSecOps and the AI landscape, enough to hold substantive conversations with product and engineering leaders about roadmaps and architecture.
Clear executive communication.
You write short, decision-ready updates and present trade-offs plainly to executives and the Board, in an async-first environment.
Influence without authority.
You build trust across Product, Engineering, Finance and Legal and move decisions forward across functions.
Ownership with collaboration.
You own the strategic view and the recommendation, and partner closely with the team's Analyst on research and analysis.
Preferred:
familiarity with the DevSecOps, security, AI and open source ecosystems.
You value the
all remote
lifestyle and share our
values
.
About the team
The Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships team helps GitLab decide how to grow beyond what we build on our own. We own inorganic strategy: acquisitions, strategic partnerships with hyperscalers and AI labs, and the research that tells us which to pursue and which to pass on.
We work across Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal and the executive group. We set direction and do the detailed work ourselves, with a high degree of ownership and transparency in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

We are excited to welcome a Junior Engineer to join our Application Security team at 1Password. Application Security helps enable 1Password to build and deliver secure products with confidence. We’re responsible for 1Password’s Secure Software Development Lifecycle and related security activities like design review and architecture guidance, threat modelling, software supply chain security, and a suite of automated security tooling.
As part of the Application Security team, this Junior Engineer will focus primarily on building and maintaining new or existing security tooling, including static analysis, dynamic analysis, code scanning (sage) and emerging agentic AI solutions.
- You have 0-2+ years of experience in software development
- You have a passion and curiosity for security engineering, including but not limited to topics of secure coding, pentesting, vulnerability analysis, security design and architecture
- You have strong experience, demonstrated through project work or real world experience, leveraging agentic AI capabilities to accelerate security workflows, automate repetitive tasks, or enhance detection and remediation efforts
- You have experience with internal tool development and engineering enablement
- You have a strong foundational understanding of software development principles, and are comfortable reading and writing code
- You work well in a team environment with positive communications amongst a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- You’re adaptable and resilient, thriving in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Rust and/or Golang, or a demonstrated ability to pick up new languages quickly.
- Experience conducting security code reviews, design architecture guidance, threat modelling
- Practical or hands-on experience with web application security topics, including but not limited to topics in OWASP Top 10.
What you can expect:
- Work within a small team of Application Security Engineers focused on minimizing security risk across our SSDLC
- Work with cross functional partners across Security, Product Engineering, Marketing, CX and more on the security parameters of new features across 1Password’s product suite
- Design, build, integrate and scale new agentic AI capabilities to enable secure product development activities
- Enhance and maintain existing security tools in a variety of areas including static analysis, dynamic analysis, code scanning, and more.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reporting metrics around our security risk program, tailored to different audiences (technical, non-technical, compliance, senior leadership, etc.)
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $100,000 USD and $140,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $85,000 CAD and $119,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
That said, 1Password is not for everyone https://blog.1password.com/inside-the-culture-powering-1passwords-next-chapter/. Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you.
Our approach to remote work
We believe in the power of remote work, but recognize that in-person connection is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, travel for in-person engagement is a part of almost all roles, and we require our employees to be ready and willing to take part. Frequency will depend on role and responsibilities, and may include, but is not limited to: annual department-wide offsites, team meetings, and customer/industry events.

Keet is a fully peer-to-peer messaging and video calling app built on Holepunch's P2P stack. There are no servers, no middlemen, and no data harvesting. People talk directly to each other, with end-to-end encryption by design.
We're taking Keet to a billion users, competing head-on with WhatsApp and Telegram. Product sets the direction. We're looking for a Product Engineering Lead to turn that direction into features people love, built to a standard that holds up at global scale.
You lead the teams that build Keet's features: the API team, which adds feature-focused APIs to Keet's core, and the frontend team, which builds the React app on top, each with its own lead. You report directly to the CTO and take direction from product. Product owns the what and the why. You own the how and the engineering bar. The split is roughly 70% engineering leadership and 30% product.
You're a combination of three things. You're an engineering leader who has helped teams ship consumer products at speed. You have real product sense and can partner with PMs as an equal, shaping what gets built, not just executing it. And you have an intuition for distributed, local-first systems, so you can work fluently on top of a P2P engine without needing to build it yourself.
Responsabilities
Engineering
Run the API and frontend teams day to day: unblocking, reviewing, and keeping them shipping.
Set and hold a high engineering bar for performance, reliability, and clean APIs.
Own the technical design of features and the API surface between Keet's core and the app.
Make sure the API team works closely with our deep tech teams on code reviews, design, and anything that touches the engine.
Product Partnership
Work alongside Keet's product managers to turn vision and roadmap into scoped, buildable work.
Push back when scope and reality don't match, and propose better paths when they exist.
Bring an engineering perspective to product decisions, especially where P2P opens doors that centralized apps can't.
Help the team move fast, using AI tools and quick prototypes to validate ideas before committing to them.
Leadership
Create clarity around team goals and make sure everyone knows what success looks like.
Mentor team leads to build strong team operating systems, improve how their teams work with others, and grow as leaders.
Lead by example: roll up your sleeves when the team needs it, and step back when they're ready to own it.
Experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer product, ideally in chat, calling, or social apps.
Strong product sense: you can tell a good feature from a busy one.
Intuition for distributed and local-first systems. Offline-first and eventual consistency should feel natural. You don't need P2P protocol expertise, because our core abstracts it away.
Deep JavaScript and React.
Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the ability to give and receive direct critique.
Bonus: experience with local-first apps, CRDTs or sync engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop apps, or open source.

OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.
