WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Truly unique opportunity to shape and scale self-optimizing paid marketing systems for Growth. This role exists to turn our performance marketing experimentation program from a prototype into the operating system. The opportunity calls for deep paid-growth expertise and a strong grasp of how channel mechanics, audiences, creative, measurement, experimentation, and automation fit together. You’ll set the strategy and operating model, and guide the agentic infrastructure that brings it to life. You’ll partner with BizOps, Strat Fin, Growth, Ecosystems, and Marketing across Meta, LinkedIn, Google, and ChatGPT, interpreting always-on geo, cohort, creative, and spend signals in context.
This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- By day 90:
- Map how geo, audience, creative, spend, measurement, experimentation, and platform constraints interact; establish an operating model that turns those signals into hypotheses, tests, and clear kill/scale decisions, with agents supporting execution.
- Build a deep understanding of onboarding and activation, and how paid acquisition connects to downstream user quality; partner with Growth PM and Ecosystems PM on meaningful improvements.
- Establish how AI and agents can strengthen the end-to-end decision system—from analysis and hypothesis generation to creative and audience development, experiment QA, and reusable workflows—improving decision quality, not only execution speed.
- By the end of year one:
- Graduate the program from managing the experimental budget to managing the majority of paid spend, while maintaining efficiency and Notion’s quality bar for ad creative.
- Establish stronger measurement and a clear, connected view of which experiments move which metrics, why they work, and how results vary by user cohort; use that understanding to shape more personalized experiences.
- Turn the system into a repeatable model for Demand Generation, raising the standard for experimentation, measurement, and agentic marketing infrastructure across the organization.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Strong systems fluency across APIs, automation pipelines, and agentic systems. You can see how platform integrations, data, measurement, workflows, and constraints fit together; shape sound architecture and tradeoffs; and partner credibly with technical teams to make the system reliable.
- Deep paid-growth subject matter expertise across platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, and Google. You understand how channel mechanics, budgets, audiences, creative, and performance interact, and can connect those dynamics to real marketing outcomes.
- Expert measurement and performance-analysis judgment: you can interpret geo, cohort, creative, and spend signals in context, identify meaningful patterns, understand what is driving them, and make clear kill/scale decisions.
- Strong product and systems judgment across technical and marketing domains, with the ability to connect the parts into a coherent strategy and translate an ambiguous frontier into a system with a high quality bar.
- High-agency cross-functional ownership: you can work across BizOps, Strat Fin, Growth, Ecosystems, and Marketing to align decisions and deliver the full loop from strategy through operating model and infrastructure to outcomes.
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range for this role is $191,000 - $225,000 per year.
By clicking “Submit Application”, I understand and agree that Notion and its affiliates and subsidiaries will collect and process my information in accordance with Notion’s Global Recruiting Privacy Policy https://notion.notion.site/Notion-Global-Recruiting-Privacy-Policy-fc3eb4e829354a26a2bb6fd5e289b550?pvs=74 and NYLL 144 https://notion.notion.site/Ashby-AI-Bias-Audit-2b0efdeead05803bbbfae159ec86c528.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS
We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. Notion is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. Consistent with applicable law, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. Notion provides reasonable accommodations during the application process; if you need one, please let your recruiter know.
Notion is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Notion considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. We’re scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do.
You may not meet every requirement, and that’s okay. If this role excites you, we’d love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity.
This is a remote opportunity for candidates located in Canada and US.
The Opportunity:
The Grafana Search & Storage squad is developing Grafana’s next-generation storage layer. As a key component of our App Platform, Unified Storage enables developers to build innovative applications using a Kubernetes-inspired Operator pattern to interact with data directly.
In addition to operating Unified Storage at scale within Grafana Cloud, our team manages two essential features for discovery and organization: Search, the unified engine for finding and querying all Grafana data, and Folders, for hierarchical content management.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Take an active role in influencing our roadmap and your own career objectives
Work with your team to deliver new features, then use the results to iterate and improve.
Drive projects from initial ideation all the way to operations once it is in the hands of customers
Embrace our open-source culture and contribute to other projects that may not directly fall within your team’s scope
Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning the reliability, performance, and
availability
Be a part of your team’s on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you’re running
Mentor and support other team members, participate in design discussions and collaborate with the team
Learn new skills by gaining a deeper understanding of our cloud product and our customers and getting to know the codebase of a large distributed system
As we are remote-first and our engineering organization is largely remote, we provide guidance and meet regularly using video calls, so an independent attitude and good communication skills are a must.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
You are a motivated self starter with a bias towards action
You are customer focused
We build everything with our users in mind.
You have a passion for creating intuitive products that fit customers’ needs
Pragmatism: You are able to take on complex challenges and break them down to achieve short feedback loops: to analyze, design, and build modular solutions, deliver MVPs, gather data and feedback and then progress iteratively
Collaboration and communication: The smallest unit we have is a team. You’ll be working with your teammates in a fully remote setup. Good communication skills are a must

Good communication skills are a must
Solid experience with Go, Rust, Python, or other similar programming languages
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with large distributed systems
Experience with delivering projects from gathering requirements, brainstorming ideas all the way to shipping a product to the customer’s hands in a self-driven way

THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering (Sales) to act as a senior technical and commercial partner for Checkout.com’s most strategic customers. This is an individual contributor role focused on the top 50 accounts and highest-complexity opportunities.
You will operate at executive and senior technical levels, shaping solution strategy for enterprise merchants and helping them understand how Checkout.com can support their payments, growth, and customer experience goals. You will bring deep payments and architecture expertise to complex sales cycles, strategic account planning, integration programs, and cross-functional decision-making.
In the US, Solutions Engineers bring together responsibilities that are often split across Sales Engineering and Implementation Engineering. This role will help strategic merchants move from business problem to scalable solution and successful go-live, while raising the quality and consistency of technical engagement across the wider team.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Serve as the senior Solutions Engineering partner for top 50 accounts, strategic pursuits, and opportunities with significant commercial, technical, or reputational importance.
- Engage with C-level, executive, product, engineering, architecture, security, and payments stakeholders to shape consensus around complex solutions.
- Define the technical strategy for enterprise opportunities, including discovery, solution architecture, integration approach, proof-of-concept design, technical validation, and go-live readiness.
- Translate sophisticated merchant requirements into scalable Checkout.com solutions, clearly articulating architecture choices, trade-offs, dependencies, risks, and expected business outcomes.
- Provide thought leadership on payment performance, authorization and settlement flows, fraud and risk, tokenization, 3DS, alternative payment methods, and other payments capabilities.
- Lead or advise on strategic RFPs, RFIs, security and architecture reviews, executive workshops, board-level materials, and high-stakes technical negotiations.
- Orchestrate cross-functional alignment across Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering, Implementation Engineering, Merchant Care, Risk, and other partners to remove blockers and deliver outcomes.
- Influence product strategy, technical enablement, operating models, and reusable assets through direct insight from strategic merchants and the market.
- Mentor and raise the technical standard of Solutions Engineering through coaching, deal reviews, knowledge sharing, and role modeling; this role does not have direct people-management responsibility.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Significant experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Implementation Engineering, Technical Account Management, or a related customer-facing technical leadership role.
- Experience working with large enterprise or strategic accounts in payments, fintech, SaaS, e-commerce, or another complex technology environment.
- Deep understanding of payments architecture, API-based integrations, distributed systems, security considerations, and enterprise implementation patterns.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, ambiguous requirements, and material commercial value.
- Executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly with C-level leaders, senior architects, developers, product teams, commercial leaders, and delivery partners.
- Strong commercial judgment, strategic thinking, and ability to connect technical recommendations to customer outcomes and business value.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and create alignment across internal teams and customer organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex subjects without losing important technical nuance.
- Comfortable operating hands-on when needed, including reviewing API behavior, logs, architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and proof-of-concept results.
NICE TO HAVE
- Deep experience with payment performance, payment methods, fraud and risk, 3DS, network tokenization, wallets, or other modern payment capabilities.
- Experience leading enterprise architecture workshops, executive briefings, technical due diligence, or complex transformation programs.
- Experience with JavaScript, React, Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, Go, C#, or another relevant development ecosystem.
- Previous experience as an engineer, developer, product leader, enterprise architect, or senior technical consultant.
- Familiarity with payments standards, regulations, schemes, and the operational realities of global commerce.

THE ROLE
We are looking for a Manager, Solutions Engineering (Sales) to support strategic merchants across the sales, solutioning, integration, and go-live lifecycle. This is an individual contributor role focused on Checkout.com’s top 500 accounts and opportunities.
You will combine technical depth, commercial judgment, and strong customer engagement skills to understand complex requirements and translate them into practical Checkout.com solutions. In the US, Solutions Engineers bring together responsibilities that are often split across Sales Engineering and Implementation Engineering, helping win opportunities while reducing friction through technical integration and go-live.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Partner with Sales and Account Management on top 500 opportunities, shaping technical engagement plans and helping teams position the right Checkout.com solutions.
- Lead technical discovery, solution design, product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, workshops, and presentations for merchant stakeholders.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions using Checkout.com APIs, products, payment methods, and integration patterns.
- Advise customers and internal teams on payment flows, acceptance optimization, fraud prevention, tokenization, 3DS, alternative payment methods, and related payment topics.
- Support RFPs, RFIs, security reviews, architecture discussions, and technical evaluations throughout the sales cycle.
- Maintain technical ownership from early discovery through integration, testing, and go-live, partnering with Implementation Engineering, Product, Engineering, Merchant Care, and Account Management to remove blockers.
- Turn merchant and market feedback into improvements to product priorities, documentation, enablement, demos, and reusable technical assets.
- Build trusted relationships with technical and business stakeholders while clearly communicating trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Implementation Engineering, Technical Account Management, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Experience supporting complex B2B technology, SaaS, fintech, payments, or e-commerce customers.
- Strong understanding of API-based integrations, including REST/JSON APIs, webhooks, logs, API responses, and tools such as Postman.
- Demonstrated experience with technical discovery, solution design, demos, proof-of-concepts, workshops, RFPs, or RFIs.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to developers, product teams, commercial stakeholders, and senior business leaders.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance customer value, technical feasibility, delivery risk, and business priorities.
- Analytical, organized, and customer-focused approach to diagnosing problems and driving them to resolution.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly collaborative environment.
NICE TO HAVE
- Payments or fintech experience, including payment authorization and settlement flows, payment methods, fraud and risk, 3DS, network tokenization, or payment performance.
- Experience with JavaScript, React, Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, Go, C#, or another relevant development ecosystem.
- Experience working with enterprise merchants and complex, multi-stakeholder implementations.
- Previous engineering, software development, product management, or solutions architecture experience.
- Familiarity with payments standards, regulations, or schemes.
