ABOUT THE ROLE
The Backend Platform team is the backbone of Perplexity’s product reliability, scalability, and performance, enabling every product and AI team to build with confidence.
This high‑impact group builds and maintains critical infrastructure, including backend systems for authentication, authorization, real-time data flows, service orchestration, and sandboxing, to ensure fast, reliable, and secure user experiences. By setting rigorous standards for code quality, uptime and performance, the Platform team ensures everyone at Perplexity can innovate at speed on top of a robust, well-architected foundation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Define and extend our RBAC and authorization primitives, ensuring they scale with new product capabilities and enterprise controls.
- Own key backend services involved in authentication and encryption flows (including BYOK‑related pieces), partnering with Security and Infra on defense‑in‑depth.
- Set the technical bar for backend platform design and operations, driving best practices in reliability, observability, and incident response for always‑on systems.
- Partner with product and AI teams to define clear platform interfaces, SLAs, and integration patterns so new features can reliably build on shared backend capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership across the backend platform area, mentoring other engineers and making long‑term architectural decisions that keep the foundation simple, secure, and evolvable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing and building backend systems that run in production (typically 4+ years for mid-level, more for senior and staff).
- Strong system design skills, with a track record of creating efficient, reliable, and scalable architectures.
- Hands-on experience with modern infrastructure (for example AWS, Kubernetes, and related cloud technologies).
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Go, or Rust, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-language environment.
- Collaborative mindset and eagerness to solve challenging technical problems with other experienced engineers.
- Comfort working in security‑sensitive areas (auth, authorization, encryption) and making pragmatic trade-offs between safety, simplicity, and velocity.
If you’re excited about this role, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn’t match every qualification listed above.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Cloud Infrastructure team owns the foundational cloud primitives and deployment models that power Perplexity's products, from multi-tenant public cloud to single-tenant and on-premises solutions for enterprise customers.
As Perplexity grows its Computer and Enterprise products, this team builds and operates the security, isolation, and compliance layers that customers depend on. We provide the deployment topologies, multi‑region infrastructure, and core services that enable Perplexity to run reliably and efficiently for both consumer traffic and large enterprises.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the roadmap and technical strategy for agent-driven cloud infrastructure management.
- Design and operate Perplexity’s cloud networking fabric, including VPC architectures, private connectivity, and peering with hyperscalers and neocloud providers to support low-latency, high-throughput AI workloads.
- Architect and scale compute platforms (Kubernetes/EKS, autoscaling groups, and mixed CPU/GPU fleets) to efficiently serve online request traffic and background workloads across regions.
- Build and maintain secure, isolated deployment topologies for multi-tenant, single-tenant, and customer‑owned cloud (BYOC) environments, including cross-account networking, identity, and policy guardrails.
- Implement and evolve multi-region strategies for availability, failover, and data locality, including traffic routing, regional capacity planning, and disaster recovery playbooks.
- Partner with security to deliver enterprise controls such as BYOK/KMS integrations, network isolation, and auditability required for regulated customers.
- Develop automation, tooling, and runbooks that make day‑2 operations (provisioning, upgrades, incident response) predictable and repeatable for Perplexity products across all environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Deep experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS (VPC design, routing, security groups, load balancing, private connectivity).
- Strong background with Kubernetes/EKS and container orchestration, including multi‑cluster, multi‑region, or multi‑account setups.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking and peering (VPC peering, Transit Gateway, private link/service endpoints, or similar constructs in neoclouds).
- Experience building or operating secure, isolated environments for enterprise customers (single‑tenant, BYOC, or on‑prem), ideally including BYOK/KMS integrations and compliance constraints.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and strong software engineering skills in at least one of Python, Go, or Rust for automation and tooling.
- Strong debugging and incident management skills across distributed systems (networking, compute, and platform layers), with a track record of driving root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes.
- 7+ years of industry experience building and operating production cloud infrastructure, including leading the design of complex systems or migrations.
If you’re excited about this role, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn’t match every qualification listed above.

WHO ARE WE?
Welltech is a global wellness technology company with Ukrainian roots. Our mission is to build and scale wellness apps globally through state-of-the-art, tech-driven performance marketing.
We are one of the most established players in the wellness app space, and we are accelerating. Over 25.5 million people across the world use our apps — Muscle Booster, Yoga-Go, and WalkFit — to build healthier habits, move more, and feel better every day. Every subscription represents a real person making a real change in their life, and we take that seriously.
With 500+ people across hubs in Cyprus, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, and the UK, we combine the scale of a market leader and the drive of a team that's just getting started.
The Product Engineer Mindset
We don’t hire people to implement specs. We hire people who can spot the right problem to solve, talk directly to product, design, data, and users to sharpen it, and ship the thinnest version that proves the bet, then iterate. If this is you, you probably:
- Measure your work in outcomes, not output. A feature isn’t done when it merges; it’s done when the metric moves, or you’ve learned it won’t, and killed it.
- Go to the source. You don’t wait for a perfect PRD. You sit with PMs, designers, marketers, and data, and sometimes users directly, to understand what’s actually being asked.
- Own things end-to-end. From the first conversation about a problem through architecture, code, rollout, monitoring, and the follow-up experiment. You don’t hand work off at a boundary.
- Have a strong bias to ship. Prototypes, A/B tests, feature flags, kill switches. You’d rather get something in front of users this week than a perfect plan in two months.
- Treat AI as leverage, not a novelty. You use agentic workflows to compress the loop between idea and learning, for yourself and the team.
What You’ll Own
This is an ownership role, not a feature factory seat. You’ll be on the hook for outcomes across the stack, not just the code in your area:
- A cross-platform foundation, end to end. Mobile, web, BFF, and infrastructure layers, built and evolved with an AI-first, agentic development approach, and held to outcomes you helped define.
- Scalable foundations for health & fitness apps. React Native and modern web technologies, designed so product teams can ship and experiment faster without rederiving the basics each time.
- The discovery loop with stakeholders. Working directly with product, design, marketing, and data to translate business bets into running experiments, not just tickets in a backlog.
- AI-agentic workflows across the SDLC. You’ll continuously improve how the team uses AI to raise productivity, code quality, and delivery speed, and prove the impact.
- Shared platform capabilities. Internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted workflows that make every engineer at Welltech faster and the product better.
- Native mobile and media experiences. Video playback, streaming, and HLS, owned from native integration through user-perceived quality.
- Modular, reusable systems. Backend-driven UI, white-label capabilities, and the architectural choices that let one team’s work compound for the next.
- Reliable integrations. Between frontend clients, BFF services, and platform infrastructure, with you on the hook for the health of the seams.
- The engineering culture. Architecture discussions, code reviews or pairing when working on trunk based development workflows, documentation, and continuous improvement, leading by what you ship and how you ship it.

- Work on native mobile integrations and advanced media experiences, including video playback, streaming, and HLS-based solutions
- Contribute to modular architectures, reusable systems, backend-driven UI solutions, and white-label application capabilities
- Build reliable and scalable integrations between frontend clients, BFF services, and platform infrastructure
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering workflows

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

Mysten Labs’ mission is to advance the internet through step-function improvements in what technology makes possible. We build foundational infrastructure and products that give people, businesses, and developers new ways to interact, transact, and create value.
Our work spans on-chain finance and the emerging agent economy. Through Sui, Move, and our broader technology stack, we’re building the systems that make these experiences possible - from secure, scalable blockchain infrastructure to new ways for businesses and AI agents to interact.
THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Senior Dealmaker to shape and lead AI partnerships for Walrus, Mysten Labs’ decentralized storage network, across the ecosystem.
As AI agents take on more complex work, they need infrastructure that helps them retain context, handle sensitive information, and maintain a trustworthy record of their actions. With Walrus as the foundation for decentralized storage and persistent memory, we’re building toward that future with a broader stack that includes confidential compute—supporting product reliability and compliance as agents operate in the real world.
Your job is to determine where Walrus and these complementary capabilities can create the greatest value, build relationships with the right partners, and structure agreements that lead to meaningful integrations and adoption. You’ll focus on foundation model companies, AI platforms, data platforms, and adjacent infrastructure providers.
Working closely with the Head of Partnerships and Walrus product and engineering leadership, you’ll help set partnership priorities and independently lead complex opportunities from initial thesis through implementation. This is a senior individual contributor role with substantial ownership, requiring strategic judgment, commercial creativity, and hands-on execution.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Shape our AI partnership strategy. Develop a clear perspective on where Walrus can become essential infrastructure for AI applications and agents. Identify the partners, use cases, and market developments that should guide our investment of time and resources.
- Originate consequential partnerships. Build relationships with founders, executives, and technical decision-makers at foundation model companies, AI platforms, agent frameworks, data platforms, and adjacent infrastructure providers. Create opportunities before there is an established partnership motion.
- Define the opportunity alongside the partner. Understand how partners build, what their customers need, and where our technology can solve a meaningful problem. Work with product and engineering leadership to shape joint offerings, integration proposals, and commercial models.
- Structure and close complex deals. Lead negotiations involving technical integrations, joint product development, distribution, and commercial agreements. Navigate competing priorities and create structures that give both organizations a compelling reason to commit.
- Deliver integrations and adoption. Own relationships beyond signing. Align teams on scope, resources, and milestones; resolve obstacles; and keep partnerships moving toward implementation, launch, and sustained usage.
- Influence across the organization. Bring partner and market insights into product, engineering, marketing, and leadership discussions. Make clear recommendations, surface tradeoffs, and build alignment around opportunities that require investment across teams.
- Establish a repeatable approach. Turn early wins into sharper partner selection criteria, stronger deal structures, and more effective execution. Raise the quality of partnership work through sound judgment, shared learning, and mentorship.
WHAT YOU’LL HAVE
- Substantial experience in strategic partnerships or business development, typically 10–15+ years, with demonstrated ownership of strategically significant relationships in AI, data infrastructure, or developer platforms.
- Deep engagement in the AI ecosystem, including strong relationships with founders, executives, and product and technical leaders at relevant companies.
- A proven record of independently originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing complex partnerships that produced meaningful integrations, joint offerings, distribution, or adoption.
- The judgment to identify which opportunities deserve investment, articulate a compelling partnership thesis, and walk away when the strategic or commercial fit is weak.
- Strong product instincts and technical fluency. You can engage engineers on architectures and agentic workflows, uncover a partner’s underlying needs, and connect technical capabilities to business value.
- Credibility in the startup community and firsthand experience building with limited structure, resources, or established processes. You can point to opportunities you personally created and brought to market.
- The ability to think at enterprise scale while executing with startup urgency. You’re comfortable navigating executive stakeholders and handling the details needed to get an integration live.
- A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and aligning product, engineering, legal, and commercial teams without relying on formal authority.
- Creative commercial judgment, a bias for action, and accountability for outcomes through implementation and adoption.
- Curiosity about decentralized infrastructure and the ability to become fluent quickly. Prior Web3 experience is welcome; substantial AI ecosystem experience is essential.
- High ethical standards, direct communication, and comfort adapting as the product and market evolve.
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, including internationally.
Location: San Francisco Bay Area preferred. We may consider exceptional candidates elsewhere who are deeply embedded in the AI ecosystem.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education credentials, criminal history, and other relevant information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive product development across multiple initiatives, from new products and feature ideation through launch, iteration, growth, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to product strategy and roadmap planning aligned with company objectives
- Partner closely with engineering, design, and leadership teams to define product direction and priorities
- Own prioritization decisions using user feedback, product intuition, data, and business context
