WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Build AI-powered developer experience that makes engineers enabled.
You’ll join our Developer Experience team, united by the mission of “Engineers can do their work quickly, easily, comfortably, and safely.” You’ll be part of a team spanning the US and India that turns ambiguous goals into shippable projects that meaningfully improve developer throughput and reliability.
Your team owns AI experiences, remote and local dev environments, builds and CI, deploys, testing, and verification. You’ll work on a relatively broad scope within a well-resourced team.
This role is based in Hyderabad, India. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
- You build an AI harness to auto-resolve bugs reported for the Notion app. This is high-leverage work for the engineering org and requires solid engineering to improve resolution accuracy.
- You improve CI and build reliability so engineers get early feedback when changes break CI. We’re committed to a 5-minute CI time and are already on track.
- You improve developer features for our in-house, AI-first remote development environments - helping shape the future of software engineering.
- You execute a shared roadmap with our US engineering team to increase developer satisfaction and enablement, informed by our DevEx survey.
- You collaborate with engineers across the company to deliver an industry-leading developer experience, working deeply with tools like the TypeScript language server, lint tooling, and the Notion CLI to improve developers’ day-to-day experience.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- Over 10 years of experience with strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of turning ambiguous goals into well-scoped, shippable milestones.
- Leadership: Can create technical roadmap and has a strong ability to plan and execute very large projects. Motivate the team for the goal.
- Enjoys learning new technologies and has demonstrated innovation through past work.
- Thrive in ambiguity and can solve business problems through technology.
- Ownership: Demonstrates strong ownership and accountability for the success of the project and the team.
- Collaboration: Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills. Able to partner with cross-functional teams and engineering teams across time zones.
- Experience building or operating developer tooling (CI/CD, infrastructure workflows, internal platforms) with a focus on reliability, observability, and developer trust.
- Comfortable with creating with AI agents and hardening them: defining guardrails, adding evaluation/testing, and iterating based on real workflow feedback.
- Comfortable with creating with agentic workflows: pros-cons of code based orchestration; cost analysis; scalability issues; very long running workflows; verification/ralph loops.
- Systems-level debugging and performance thinking; you can identify bottlenecks, choose pragmatic fixes, and avoid accidental complexity.
- Ability to multiply the team: clear written communication, high-quality reviews, and coaching/mentoring that helps others ship faster and better.
- Some knowledge about building AI harness would be additive - tool building; context harness.

A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.

About The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join the OEX Mobile Growth team — a pure mobile team sitting at the intersection of engineering rigour, consumer growth craft, and product instinct. This is not a feature delivery role. You will sit upstream of requirements, shape initiatives alongside product and business stakeholders, and own the engineering end-to-end on growth bets that move real metrics for millions of users. The ideal profile combines a solid engineering foundation, hands-on growth experience serving mobile users, and the conviction to bring proposals, not just execute them.
What You'll Be Doing
Own the full engineering lifecycle of mobile growth initiatives - from shaping the brief with product and business through to production launch and iteration.
Build and optimise growth systems - including funnel instrumentation, referral mechanics, acquisition loops, and experiment frameworks — directly serving the mobile user base.
Collaborate closely with Product Manager, Business Development, and local market teams across multiple regions to translate commercial goals into concrete, data-backed engineering proposals.
Apply AI coding tools actively in your workflow to accelerate development, improve code quality, and bridge across tech stacks where needed.
Drive technical decision-making on growth infrastructure, articulating trade-offs clearly and defending or revising your positions based on evidence.
Mentor engineers on the team and help establish a culture where engineers bring solutions, not just responses.
What We Look For In You
8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production-quality systems at scale.
Hands-on growth engineering experience — funnel optimisation, experiment frameworks, acquisition or referral systems — in a consumer-facing (ToC) product context.
Understanding of mobile users: how they behave, what drives retention and conversion, and how mobile-native growth mechanics differ from web.
Actively uses AI tools as a core part of your engineering workflow — not just for code generation, but for building repeatable workflows and bridging across stacks.
Outspoken and proposal-driven: you come to the table with a point of view, push back when you disagree, and bring data and a counter-proposal rather than just flagging concerns.
Strong cross-functional communication — comfortable working with Product Manager, Business Development, and local markets to align on goals and hold the line on engineering quality.
Data instincts: you think in funnels, know how to instrument what matters, and use metrics to drive decisions.
Nice-To-Haves
Mobile development experience in iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) — or backend experience building growth systems that serve mobile apps directly (e.g. growth APIs, attribution pipelines, notification infrastructure).
Experience with Rust or other systems languages — especially candidates who have recently migrated from mobile-native stacks and are building fluency in backend tooling.
Depth in mobile attribution and MMPs (AppsFlyer, Adjust, SKAdNetwork).
ASO operational experience (App Store Connect, Google Play Console).
Experience building referral systems, k-factor mechanics, or anti-fraud layers.
Background in fintech, crypto, or regulated consumer financial products.
Experience operating across US, EEA, and APAC markets.
A/B experiment framework ownership at meaningful scale.
Perks & Benefits
Competitive total compensation package
L&D programs and Education subsidy for employees' growth and development
Various team building programs and company events
Wellness and meal allowances
Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants

You enjoy solving technical challenges in a way simple enough for an intern to understand and build upon. You avoid introducing complex, novel, or "clever" solutions. You write code for humans
and
LLMs to comprehend.
You have a favorite product and can articulate your perspective on what makes using it delightful. You often think about how the products you use could be better.
You're constantly tinkering with AI tools and workflows and have used them to achieve surprising levels of productivity. You have a strongly-held POV on what effective AI-enabled software engineering looks like.
Lack of experience in a specific technology is never disqualifying, but experience with Elm or other functional programming languages would allow you to hit the ground running. This role works with Elm, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and even SVG.
Our Engineering Team
Brilliant's engineering team is small, elite, and AI-enabled. We believe in moving fast, fixing faster, and optimizing for outcomes over outputs. Our team is full of former founders, early employees, and engineering leaders turned ICs whose collective drive, judgement, and standards generate a palpable sense of momentum every day. The norm on this team is doing the very best work of our careers, and we both support and challenge each other every day to do exactly that.
Compensation and Benefits
We use a systematic compensation framework: salary scales are set each year for each job vertical, managers level folks on their team, and those levels are mapped directly to our compensation scales. A location-based adjustment is applied outside of SF and NYC (typically 5-10%) - feel free to ask us about your location!
Given the systematic approach, we always make First and Best offers - there is no negotiation (for new hires nor our existing teammates). This ensures people are paid based on their expected contribution, not their negotiation skills.
We offer top-notch health care plans, with 100% of the premiums covered for medical, dental, and vision for employees.
We offer flexible PTO, with a norm of taking off about 6 weeks per year (including federal holidays). We also provide home office equipment, a professional development stipend, and free food at our offices.

About the Liquidity Platform
The Liquidity Platform provides cutting-edge technology that covers all aspects of crypto trading. We build low-latency connectivity to global crypto venues — across both CeFi and DeFi — strategy services for automated pricing and trading bots, high-frequency data capture and analysis, and state-of-the-art micro frontends for trading management. On top of this infrastructure, we build highly customized strategies to facilitate crypto liquidity.
Our engineering teams own the full trading lifecycle, from venue connectivity and execution to strategy, data, risk, and analytics. Implement pre-trade risk controls, circuit breakers, rate limiters, position/PnL and risk calculations, automated alerting, and high-availability architecture.
Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and auto-recovery so strategies remain stable, scalable, and self-healing in a 24x7 trading environment.
Build trusted data models, reconciliation workflows, and data-quality controls with clear lineage, reproducibility, and documentation — delivering outputs for the trading desk, Finance, and Operations.
Profile and eliminate latency hotspots using garbage-free coding and lock-free concurrency; continuously improve system performance and user experience.
Collaborate with liquidity managers, product managers, desk developers, risk, finance, and operations to design, implement, and roll solutions into production.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Notion is looking for an experienced engineer who has designed and built secure software systems to help define the security foundations for our AI products. You’ll work with product and engineering teams on agent runtimes, tool permissions, retrieval, content writes, observability, and abuse-resistant design. You’ll turn product risks into clear architecture, reusable guardrails, automated tests, and production systems that help teams ship new features safely.
This role is based in San Francisco. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Define and build security architecture for product surfaces that operate across customer workspace content, including tool execution, content writes, retrieval, permission checks, provenance, and auditability.
- Make the secure path the easy path for product teams by shipping reusable libraries, review patterns, test fixtures, and guardrails that prevent classes of vulnerabilities.
- Build automated red-team and regression testing for risks such as prompt injection, indirect instruction following, data exfiltration, tool misuse, cross-tenant leakage, and unsafe workspace mutations.
- Translate threat models for new product surfaces into concrete engineering requirements, production checks, and launch criteria.
- Use production signals, incident learnings, and targeted experiments to harden Notion over time, then feed those learnings back into architecture and developer workflows.
- Help define the security bar for how engineers use coding agents, MCP-enabled tools, hooks, and internal automation without introducing new risk.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Secure software engineering craft: You have 8-10+ years of experience designing, building, or securing complex software systems, and you are comfortable working in production code with product and platform engineers.
- Security architecture judgment: You can look at a complex system and reason about where the permissions, data flow, or trust boundaries are likely to get weird, and help re-design it to make them better.
- Security product strategy: You can turn a complex security risk you see into a product design or architecture that can be built.
- Builder mindset: You’d rather leave behind a useful tool, test, library, or pattern than a task or project for someone else to pick up later.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience building or securing products with tool use, retrieval, workflow automation, content writes, or complex permission boundaries.
- Hands-on experience with prompt-injection testing, red teaming, model behavior evaluation, or abuse-resistant application design.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS security models: permissions, sharing, audit logs, data residency, encryption, compliance, or customer-facing trust guarantees.
- Experience building developer tooling, CI checks, coding-agent workflows, MCP integrations, or internal frameworks that shape how engineers build software.
- Public security research, vulnerability writeups, conference talks, or open-source work related to product security or secure developer infrastructure.
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $270,000 - $340,000 per year.
