ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
- APX is Sierra’s rotational program to develop the next generation of AI builders.
- In the age of AI, we believe generalists with diverse training and experience will become more important and empowered than ever. Instead of specializing early in an engineering, product management, or business subfield, the next generation of AI leaders will be able to do everything it takes to create, ship, and distribute great products.
- As an APX, you’ll be among the first to live in this exciting future. You’ll build AI agents directly with top global brands and gain access to comprehensive training opportunities and rotations across our Agent Development and Core Product teams. If you’re hungry to shape the most important technological wave of our lifetimes, come build at Sierra.
- The APX program is open to students graduating from undergraduate or Master’s programs by June 2027.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and ship AI agents with Sierra’s customers in a fast-paced, production environment.
- Contribute directly to Sierra’s platform by writing code and designing products.
- Learn how we build agents that operate at scale and evolve through real-world usage.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and operators across the company.
- Participate in internal reviews and product discussions to push the boundaries of what agents can do.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or comparable program) in Computer Science or a related field.
- Professional experience in software engineering or product management, especially with customer-facing responsibilities.
- Expertise in React, TypeScript, Python, Go, and other modern programming languages.
- Demonstrated curiosity and interest in AI applications (e.g., research, jobs, side projects).
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Rain is the global stablecoin payments platform for enterprises, neobanks, platforms, developers, and AI agents. Our technology allows partners to move, store, and use stablecoins instantly and compliantly through global payment cards, rewards, on/offramps, wallets, and cross-border rails. As both a Visa and Mastercard Principal Member, Rain issues cards that work at more than 175 million merchant locations in over 220 countries and territories. Built natively for stablecoins and trusted by more than 100 organizations worldwide, Rain delivers secure, scalable infrastructure that makes money move freely and instantly around the world.
You will have the opportunity to deliver massive impact at a hypergrowth company backed by some of the top investors in fintech, crypto, and SaaS. In January 2026, we closed a $250M Series C led by ICONIQ, valuing Rain at $1.95B, with Sapphire Ventures, Dragonfly, Bessemer Venture Partners, Galaxy Ventures, FirstMark, Lightspeed, Norwest, and Endeavor Catalyst also participating. If you're curious, bold, and excited to help shape a borderless financial future, we'd love to talk.
OUR ETHOS
We believe in an open and flat structure. You will be able to grow into the role that most aligns with your goals. Our team members at all levels have the freedom to explore ideas and impact the roadmap and vision of our company.
ABOUT THE TEAM
We are hiring a VP of Engineering to own the craft, quality, and technical direction of our roughly 50-person engineering organization as we enter our next stage of growth. We expect to approximately double the size of the team, and we’re looking for a leader who has successfully scaled a high-performing engineering organization while maintaining an exceptionally high technical bar.
This isn’t a role focused on adding headcount for the sake of growth. We want someone who can thoughtfully scale the team, strengthen the systems that move real money, and make our engineers significantly more effective as the organization grows. This leader should be deeply technical and genuinely engaged in the code, architecture, and engineering decisions—not operating adjacent to them.
You will lead through a mix of direct reports and a small group of engineering managers and tech leads, partnering closely with Product, Risk, and Compliance. You will spend your time on design reviews, incident retros, hiring, and the handful of technical bets that determine whether we can support the next order of magnitude of transaction volume.
If your ideal week is entirely calendar blocks and roadmap decks, this is not the right role. If your ideal week includes a hard design debate, a code review that changes someone's mind, and a coaching conversation that raises a manager's ceiling, keep reading.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own engineering strategy and architecture across card issuing, wallets, ledger, money movement, onchain settlement, and integrations with card networks and banking partners — including the multi-year technical roadmap that gets us there.
- Set and own Rain's engineering quality bar across system design, code review, testing, observability, documentation, and technical decision-making, ensuring correctness is treated as critical for systems that move customer funds.
- Go deep where the risk is. You won't own day-to-day code, but you will review critical designs, weigh in on the highest-consequence architecture and build-vs.-buy decisions, and be technical enough that no one can hand you a bad design and have it pass.
- Drive reliability, scalability, and operational excellence by establishing SLOs, improving incident response, capacity planning for 10x growth, and designing resilient systems with graceful degradation, idempotency, and replay capabilities.
- Build security, compliance, and correctness into the platform by design, partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, and Security to meet PCI, SOC 2, fraud-control, regulatory, and blockchain infrastructure requirements.
- Increase engineering velocity without sacrificing quality through improvements to CI/CD, developer tooling, local environments, technical debt management, and architecture that enables teams to ship safely and independently.
- Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization by hiring and coaching engineering managers and technical leads, establishing clear team ownership and boundaries, and owning headcount planning and the performance bar.
- Operate as a member of the leadership team — translating company strategy into technical plans, partnering across Product, Design, Risk, Compliance, and GTM, and representing engineering to the board, banking and network partners, and customers.
YOU ARE LIKELY TO SUCCEED IF YOU HAVE:
- 15+ years building production software, including 8+ years leading engineers and meaningful time leading managers.
- Current technical credibility. You have written or reviewed meaningful production code recently enough that an architecture review is a place you add value, not a place you nod along.
- Deep experience with distributed backend systems at scale: data modeling, consistency and idempotency, queues and event-driven design, and the operational reality of running all of it.
- A track record of raising an engineering bar. You can point to specific practices you introduced and the measurable change in quality, velocity, or reliability that followed.
- Real reliability ownership — you have carried a pager, run incident command during a serious outage, and built the follow-through that kept it from recurring.
- Experience in payments, fintech, banking infrastructure, or another domain where money, ledgers, or regulatory obligations made correctness non-negotiable.
- You have hired and developed engineering managers, not only engineers. There are leaders you grew who would come work for you again.
- Clear written communication. You can make a complex technical tradeoff legible to a CEO, a compliance officer, and a partner's engineering team in the same week.
- Executive range. You are as comfortable in a board or partner conversation as you are in a design review, and you can hold a technical position under commercial pressure.
- Comfort with ambiguity and speed. You would rather ship something correct this quarter than design something perfect for next year.
BONUS ATTRIBUTES:
- Hands-on experience with card issuing, processing, or the Visa and Mastercard network stack.
- Working knowledge of stablecoins, onchain settlement, custody and key management, or EVM and Solana infrastructure.
- Experience operating under SOC 2, PCI DSS, or bank and program-manager oversight.
- Experience leading distributed or multi-region teams.

ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $275B in annualized spend flows in and out of 85,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Ramp Economics Lab is the go-to source for understanding how businesses spend on and adopt AI. Built on Ramp’s $200B+ business spend dataset, our flagship Ramp AI Index https://ramp.com/data/ai-index tracks the AI economy through actual business spend data. We help CFOs and finance teams understand what these trends mean for their businesses, and our research is regularly cited by outlets including the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg. You will work with Ara Kharazian https://www.linkedin.com/in/akharazian/, lead economist.
We’re hiring an analytical, resourceful researcher to own and expand this work: run the Ramp AI Index, develop new metrics on AI spending and adoption, explore questions about AI ROI, and extend our research internationally. You’ll turn findings into clear reports, charts, presentations, and interactive tools that help CFOs and finance teams make better decisions.
You will also build our customer-facing research function: developing Ramp’s outlook on AI, meeting with customers and prospects, and translating our data into practical recommendations for business planning, budgeting, and AI strategy. You’ll partner with the growth team to package and distribute this work through reports, web content, presentations, and events that reach finance leaders.
This role combines economic judgment, applied data science, public writing, data visualization, and executive communication. You should be able to move from an important question to credible analysis, a clear visual or argument, and advice a business leader can act on.
WHAT YOU NEED
- 5+ years of experience in an analytical role, such as investment banking, equity or industry research, consulting, business operations, data science, or economics. We care about evidence of strong analysis, clear communication, and ownership across projects.
- Strong perspectives on the economics of AI, economic policy, new media, and writing
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Familiarity with BI tools (preferably Looker, Omni, Sigma, Hex or equivalent) and experience distributing data insights via reports and dashboards
- Track record of shipping high-quality research, writing, and thought leadership under short, non-academic timelines
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly improving, start-up environment that focuses on solving problems with iterative technical solutions
- Active reader of the news in economics, business, and AI trends
- An advanced user of AI for data science, and an eye for good charts and web design (we vibecode ramp.com/data http://ramp.com/data ourselves)
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience with the modern data stack (Fivetran / Snowflake / dbt / Looker / Hightouch or equivalents)
- Experience within the payments and financial technology space

THE ROLE
As an Enterprise Solutions Architect at ClickHouse, you'll own the technical side of the sales cycle for enterprise accounts. You'll engage with data platform engineers, architects, SRE, and the VP who owns the standard — and your job is to design something that satisfies all of them and then prove it at production scale.
Getting an enterprise team there usually means moving them off something else, so most of your work is making that migration credible: the architecture, benchmarks run against their own data, and a plan their engineers believe they can execute.
This is a role for engineers who want the hard version of the problem: real scale, real constraints, and an incumbent to displace. Prior pre-sales experience helps but isn't required — technical depth is non-negotiable.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Own the technical evaluation for enterprise accounts — from discovery through POC or competitive bake-off, architecture sign-off, security review, and first production workload.
- Engage across a wider set of stakeholders than a single team: data platform engineers, architects, SRE, security, and the executive who owns the standard. Design solutions that hold up with all of them in the room.
- Design for production scale — sizing, sharding and replication strategy, ingestion topology, tiered storage, cost modeling, and what happens when something fails at 3am.
- Win competitive displacements against Elasticsearch, Splunk, Snowflake, BigQuery, Druid, Pinot, and homegrown systems, using benchmarks the customer's own team can reproduce.
- Own the migration plan — sequencing, dual-run, validation, and cutover — so the customer's team can see exactly how they get to production.
- Clear the security and procurement path: questionnaires, compliance artifacts, network and identity architecture, and BYOC or private deployment requirements.
- Partner closely with Enterprise AEs to progress and close opportunities — you own the technical win, they own the commercial close. Build the TCO case against the incumbent/competition together.
- Advocate for customer needs internally with Product and Engineering — you're the voice of the technical buyer inside ClickHouse.
- Contribute reference architectures, benchmark harnesses, migration guides, and objection handling material that help the team scale what's working.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Deep technical foundation in data infrastructure — built through experience as a data engineer, platform engineer, software engineer, DBA, or solutions architect.
- Production experience with analytical databases (ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Druid, Pinot, Vertica) and with operating them, not just querying them.
- Distributed systems judgment: partitioning, replication, consistency trade-offs, query execution, and a felt sense for where things break under load.
- Fluency across the modern data stack — Kafka and CDC pipelines, orchestration, object storage, BI tools, and at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) at architecture level.
- Experience running a technical evaluation against a named competitor and winning it, including designing the migration off the incumbent and the parts of it that are genuinely hard.
- Customer-facing experience with real stakes — pre-sales, consulting, technical account management, or a staff-level engineering role that put you in front of customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication. You can whiteboard with a staff engineer in the morning and present to a VP of Engineering in the afternoon.
- Comfort with longer cycles and more stakeholders. Enterprise evaluations don't close in three weeks, and you know how to keep one moving without letting it stall.
- Willingness to say ClickHouse isn't the right tool for a given workload when that's true.

THE ROLE
You'll own a hybrid enterprise territory — a mix of existing customers to grow and net-new accounts to win. The balance varies by territory and shifts over time. You're accountable for the full commercial relationship in those accounts: new business, expansion, and renewal.
ClickHouse is bought by technical buyers. Data platform teams, architects, and engineering leaders evaluate the product seriously before price comes up, so expect to spend real time on technical evaluations alongside a Solutions Architect, and on the security and procurement work that comes with an enterprise purchase.
Expect to build a meaningful share of your own pipeline.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Own the full sales cycle for both new and existing accounts in your territory — first conversation through security review, procurement, and close, on Cloud commitments and multi-year committed spend.
- Grow your install base by landing new teams and new use cases inside accounts that already buy from us.
- Own renewals and consumption commitments, working with your Solutions Architect and Support to get ahead of usage and churn risk.
- Watch consumption trends across your accounts and engage early when usage flattens or spikes. Both are signals.
- Find and develop opportunities in new accounts, including teams already using ClickHouse through open source or self-serve Cloud.
- Multi-thread across the data platform team, the budget owner, security, and the executive sponsor rather than relying on a single champion.
- Work with your Solutions Architect through the technical evaluation. They own the technical win, you own the commercial strategy and the close.
- Run the procurement path: security questionnaires, legal redlines, vendor onboarding, and BYOC or private-deployment requirements.
- Give your champion the internal business case — TCO comparison against the incumbent, migration plan, and risk mitigation.
- Map the remaining teams and use cases in each account and build an expansion plan against them.
- Keep Salesforce accurate and submit a forecast leadership can plan against, across both new business and expansion.
- Participate in the developer community in your territory: meetups, conferences, and events.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 6+ years selling technical infrastructure to enterprise buyers — databases, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, observability, or developer tooling.
- A track record closing complex deals that went through security review, legal, and procurement.
- Enough technical fluency to hold an architecture conversation. You don't need to write SQL, but you should be able to explain why a company moves a workload off Elasticsearch.
- Experience carrying a hybrid quota — new business alongside expansion and renewal — and the discipline to work both rather than defaulting to whichever is easier that quarter.
- Experience with consumption-based or usage-metered commercial models, where revenue moves with usage between contract events.
- Experience selling into developer-led, bottom-up adoption as well as top-down.
- Ability to orchestrate people who don't report to you — Solutions Architects, executive sponsors, partners, product managers.
- Accurate forecasting, including when the number is bad.
- Experience with AI-native companies and their data infrastructure needs is a plus.
PERKS

ABOUT CLIPBOARD
Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. We do this through our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare professionals with the workplaces that need amazing workers. This enables hundreds of thousands of people to achieve financial stability for themselves and their families while providing essential care to millions of people across the U.S.
Founded in 2016, we are a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company https://www.ycombinator.com/topcompanies/ and have been profitable since 2022. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This isn’t the type of in-house counsel position where you will be siloed into a few narrow workstreams or deal with the same issue day after day. At Clipboard, you’ll be tasked with tackling novel legal challenges, flexing different muscles across various areas of law, and making high-impact decisions in a fast-moving environment. You’ll be tasked with building internal processes and systems, not simply managing a docket of individual cases.
You have both the sharp instincts of a high-stakes litigator and an entrepreneurial spirit. You crave a creative and collaborative—rather than purely adversarial—experience in the law. You are a skilled and concise writer and communicator, and excel at and enjoy detail-oriented tasks, fact-finding, and investigative work. You have a strong degree of curiosity and are particularly adept at identifying subtle clues which may be indicative of a much wider and important universe of issues you need to dive into. You can navigate fairly esoteric internal databases to collect and digest complex sets of data. You are eager to bring your experience with litigation and investigations to an in-house role on a small and supportive team that affords opportunity for professional growth. You look forward to channeling your skills as a litigator into supporting and advocating for a mission-driven and groundbreaking business. You embrace and are not daunted by ambiguity or a challenge, have a perennially positive attitude, and are eager to help build a legal department and support the business in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy taking the lead on projects, and naturally take the initiative to solve problems and improve and streamline systems and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage various litigation workstreams relating to independent contractor classification, including but not limited to matters relating to unemployment insurance claims and disputes with users of the Clipboard marketplace.
- Manage other litigation workstreams, including but not limited to professional negligence and data privacy matters.
- Partner with both internal and outside counsel on managing high-stakes litigation matters, including by drafting responsive pleadings, briefs, and other important documents.
- Work closely with outside counsel on developing and participating in the company’s eDiscovery strategy, including custodial document collection, review, and production.
- Manage the company’s third-party subpoena response strategy.
- Provide legal guidance to a wide range of cross function teams, including the Company’s product and operations teams.
- Support other legal workstreams depending on the needs of the team and company.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 90 DAYS IN:
- You are deeply familiar with all pending litigation and investigation matters and have taken over leadership of at least one high-stakes matter, including communicating and coordinating with outside counsel and internal stakeholders.
- You have a deep understanding of the company’s internal databases and can quickly collect and analyze complex sets of data, both for the purposes of developing proactive risk mitigation strategies and responding to high-stakes litigation document requests.
- You fully own the unemployment response workstream, third-party subpoena response process, and a docket of other litigation matters, including a subset of the company’s medical malpractice matters, and can operate completely independently on these fronts with minimal supervision.
- In at least one litigation matter, you worked with outside counsel to develop an eDiscovery plan that minimizes the costs related to custodial document collection and review while still meeting our discovery obligations.
- You proactively and quickly jump in to respond to requests for legal guidance from other business functions, and provide high quality legal advice that incorporates the risk tolerance of the business.
- You are contributing to legal strategy decisions made by the Head of Legal.
NEED TO HAVE:
- JD with at least 5 years of experience
- Bias toward action and solving (not just spotting) problems
- Ability to take ownership of your work and manage projects independently
- Excellent communication and writing abilities
- Comfort and skill in navigating complexity and ambiguity, and working on a leanly staffed team
- Willingness to quickly dive into new and “unfamiliar” legal issues
- Ability to work under pressure and autonomously, and meet tight deadlines
- Agility and flexibility to take on new tasks and responsibilities when necessary to support the business and legal team’s needs in a fast-moving, rapidly scaling, and dynamic tech company
- Willingness and ability to engage with and interpret data, especially from unfamiliar sources
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience handling arbitrations and class actions
- Experience with eDiscovery issues, including large-scale custodial data collection, review, and production
- Clerkship experience
- Government experience
- Experience working cross-culturally and with diverse, global teams
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
- Application Review
- Case Study
- Case Interview with a member of our Legal team
- Hiring Manager interview with our Head of Legal
- Executive Interview with our Co-CEO
SALARY:
The base salary range for this position is $190,000 - $220,000. This role will also be eligible for discretionary annual bonus (paid on a quarterly basis) and/or equity compensation.

Strengthen access provisioning, access reviews, emergency and privileged access oversight.
Support SOX and IT General Controls by collecting evidence, conducting audit walkthroughs, resolving issues, and providing clear documentation.
Review access risks, weak role builds, SoD conflicts, insecure configurations, and control gaps.
Partner with finance, supply chain, HR, procurement, SAP application teams, enterprise architecture, identity teams, cybersecurity, compliance, audit, and external partners.
Provide technical mentorship without formal people-management responsibility.
What You’ll Bring
6–8+ years of SAP security, access governance, role development, or related experience.
Solid understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA authorization concepts.
Experience in configuring or supporting SAP GRC and SAP Identity Access Governance.
Familiarity with SAP BTP, IAS, IPS, and SAP RISE security considerations.
Knowledge of Role-Based Access Control, Segregation of Duties, privileged access, user lifecycle management, and access reviews.
Experience assisting with SOX, IT General Controls, internal audit, or external audit activities.
Ability to guide complex initiatives, communicate clearly, and build trust with technical and business partners.
Preferred Experience
SAP security certification or related SAP certification.
Experience securing SAP RISE environments hosted on AWS or SAP-managed cloud infrastructure.
Experience with S/4HANA migration, ERP modernization, hybrid SAP landscapes, or cloud identity integration.
Experience in managing emergency access, conducting access certification, automating provisioning, and handling privileged access controls.
Experience in a global enterprise environment with complex business processes and audit needs.
