ABOUT ELEVENLABS
ElevenLabs is an AI research and product company transforming how we interact with technology.
We launched in January 2023 with the first human-like AI voice model. Today, we serve millions of users and thousands of businesses - from fast-growing startups to large enterprises like Deutsche Telekom and Meta. Our investors are some of the world's most prominent, including Andreessen Horowitz, ICONIQ Growth and Sequoia. We've raised $781M in funding and our last valuation was $22B - multiples of 11, always.
We have expanded from voice into three main platforms:

- ElevenCreative empowers creators and marketers to generate and edit speech, music, image, and video across 70+ languages.
- ElevenAPI gives developers access to our leading AI audio foundational models.
Everything we do is the result of the creativity and commitment of our team - builders doing the best work of their lives. We are researchers, engineers, and operators. IOI medalists and ex-founders. If you want to work hard and create lasting positive impact, we want to hear from you.

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- GTM technical expert: Design and demo Sierra’s incredible Agent product, offering technical solutions to solve for our customer’s needs, and answering technical questions about our solutions.
- Cross-functional work: You will work directly with our Sales, Product and Agent Engineering teams to both drive our GTM function, as well as continuously improve our Agents through our customer-driven product development philosophy.
- Lead & support our customers: As a GTM and technical leader in the earliest conversations with our future customers, you will both understand and anticipate their needs to continue our industry-leading AI solution.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- Experience in leading the sales process with Enterprise customers.
- Ability to connect a prospect’s specific business problems and Sierra’s solutions and explain them to both a technical and non-technical audience
- Ability to leverage AI tools efficiently as a regular part of your technical sales motion — discovery prep, solution design, demo and prototype building, technical proposals. With that, you know where these tools can help and where human judgment still is required. Importantly, you own the accuracy of anything you put in front of a customer, whether or not AI helped you build it. This ownership looks like us not saying "[AI tool of choice] built this", but "I built this with [AI tool of choice]."
- Bachelor's Degree or above; bonus if in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
EVEN BETTER...
- Experience translating code, technical logic and user requirements to product and engineering requirements.
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.

- Free alphorn lessons
These benefits are further detailed in Sierra's policies, may vary by region, and are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefits plans. Eligible full-time employees can participate in Sierra's equity plans subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
BE YOU, WITH US
We're working to bring the transformative power of AI to every organization in the world. To do so, it is important to us that the diversity of our employees represents the diversity of our customers. We believe that our work and culture are better when we encourage, support, and respect different skills and experiences represented within our team. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description. We strive to evaluate all applicants consistently without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, pregnancy, gender expression or identity, sexual orientation, citizenship, or any other legally protected class.

ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
THE ROLE:
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a group of highly experienced engineers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll spend roughly half your time on technical contribution and half on people management, depending on the need. You’ll work closely with the team to set direction, remove blockers, and foster a strong engineering culture as they tackle complex systems challenges in distributed computing, large-scale data handling, and performance optimization.
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have at least 10 years of industry experience, including 3 years in a leadership role
- You’ve built high-performance distributed systems at a large scale
- You have a strong background in cloud infrastructure
- You have strong knowledge of low-level operating system foundations (Linux kernel, file systems, containers, etc.)
- You’re proficient in systems-level languages such as Rust, C, C++, or Java
- You’re an experienced engineering leader who thrives close to the work and enjoys building alongside your team when needed
- You earn trust through technical depth, communicate with clarity, and help great engineers move fast and make sound decisions
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are pragmatic, calm under pressure, and focused on impact

About the job
As a member of the AI model team, you will drive innovation in post-training methodologies, with a special focus on agentic behaviors and tool use. Your work will refine pre-trained models so that they not only deliver enhanced intelligence and domain specific capabilities, but also learn to reason, plan, and autonomously invoke external tools to solve real world, multi step tasks and applications on edge devices (i.e., smartphones).
You will work on a wide spectrum of systems, ranging from streamlined, resource efficient agents that run on limited hardware to complex multi modal architectures integrating text, images, and audio, all optimized for tool augmented decision making.
We expect you to have deep expertise in large language model architectures and substantial experience in post-training for agentic workflows, including tool use fine tuning, function calling, and reinforcement learning from feedback on multi turn interactions. You will adopt a hands-on, research driven approach to developing, testing, and implementing new post-training algorithms that unlock goal directed behavior, self correction, and reliable tool invocation.
Your responsibilities include curating agentic training data (e.g., trajectories of tool use, reasoning chains, environment interactions), strengthening baseline performance, and identifying as well as resolving bottlenecks in post-training for tool augmented agents to achieve SOTA model quality. The goal is to build models that do not just know but also act, use tools, and adapt, pushing the limits of what agentic AI can achieve.
Responsibilities
Conduct end-to-end research and engineering initiatives to advance post-training of agentic and tool-use models to achieve SOTA results.
Drive broad, cross-cutting model improvements, including factuality, instruction adherence, tool/function use, multi-agent coordination, and reasoning calibration.
Design and enhance large-scale post-training systems, including data pipelines, training workflows, evaluation frameworks, and benchmark infrastructure.
Develop rigorous evaluation suites and diagnostic tools to assess model readiness for deployment.
Strengthen feedback loops from real-world product usage, incorporating both explicit and implicit user signals into post-training.
Collaborate with tooling, product, and training teams to improve the usefulness, reliability, and agentic capabilities of frontier models.
Closely liaise with research, engineering and cross-functional teams to determine which integrations are production-ready for inclusion in major model releases.
Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field; advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred with a strong publication record in top-tier AI conferences.
Experience with multimodal post-training workflows and data pipelines, particularly for agentic systems and tool use.
Hands-on experience applying post-training at scale using distributed training frameworks (e.g., multi-node GPU environments).
Demonstrated experience improving model capabilities in areas such as reasoning, tool use, and multi-agent coordination that achieve SOTA results.
Proven track record of open-source contributions related to agentic systems or tool use (code, datasets, or models) on platforms such as GitHub or Hugging Face.
Publications at leading AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL, CVPR, ECCV).
