Meet Arago and the Aragonians Arago is an AI and computer hardware company whose mission is to drive the course of history forward. We do so by accelerating breakthroughs at the intersection of AI and semiconductors. Founded in 2024 by AI researchers and physicists with deep expertise in photonics, electronics, software, mathematics, and machine learning, Arago brings together a lean team of engineers and scientists from the world’s top companies and research labs. Composed of nine nationalities and operating from hubs in France, North America, and Israel, we believe in great science and fast achievements. Our work is guided by these core principles: Do great things: we deliver work we’re proud to sign our name to. High velocity: speed matters. We move quickly, one step at a time. One unit: we’re all in this together, with relationships grounded in trust, respect, and camaraderie. Arago is backed by executives from Apple, Arm, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Hugging Face, as well as prominent US and European deeptech venture firms and exited founders.
What you’ll do
As a Senior AI/ML Scientist, you will work at the intersection of modern AI models, numerical precision, and novel computing architectures. Your mission will be to develop the methods that allow AI models to run accurately, efficiently, and reliably on Arago’s computing system. This position combines strong quantization and “digital twin” aspects: understanding how frontier models tolerate reduced precision, defining the right numerical formats and quantization strategies, and building software representations of the processor to model the physical effects that impact AI model accuracy. This role is both scientific and practical. You will help shape the bridge between AI models and Arago’s hardware.
Required Skills and Experience
Background in mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related quantitative field. Strong interest and skills in applied mathematics and statistics. Strong experience with quantization of machine learning and AI models. Strong understanding of modern model architectures, including language models, diffusion models, video generation models, and/or world models. Experience studying the impact of numerical precision, noise, or approximation on model accuracy. Experience with inference performance optimization. Good knowledge of computer architecture, GPU architecture, or parallel computing. Ability to build rigorous experimentation pipelines and translate research insights into practical engineering decisions. GitHub profile with recent and relevant projects. Language: English at a proficient level. French is a plus.
Responsibilities
Develop Arago’s quantization strategy for modern AI models, including precision studies, numerical format exploration, and model-level techniques to preserve accuracy under constrained precision. Study the impact of analog noise on the performance and inference accuracy of machine learning models, including language models, diffusion, video generation, and world models. Develop simulation tools to model analog behavior with minimal computational overhead. Build and maintain Arago's internal experimentation pipelines for precision and performance studies on both physical and emulated prototypes. Act as a technical point of contact between clients and Arago: analyze, port, and optimize client models onto Arago hardware, balancing throughput and accuracy. Collaborate with the software and digital architecture teams to support architectural enhancements based on the operator content of frontier model architectures.
Pay and benefits
Competitive cash compensation, with final package based on location, experience, and the pay of team members in similar positions. Meaningful stock option plan offered at the earliest stage of the company (included in the majority of full time offers). Relocation bonus and coverage of moving expenses for relocation within 20 minutes of the company’s location. Healthcare coverage (including family-friendly options), pension contributions, professional development support, and 25 days of PTO, in addition to public holidays. Ownership of a key technical domain, with significant vertical and/or horizontal growth opportunities, based on performance and individual drive. Reimbursement of 50% of the public transport subscription fee. A high-paced, multicultural (with 10 nationalities), and engineering-led environment.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic's researchers generate and depend on enormous amounts of data — training runs, evaluations, RL transcripts, annotations etc... The Research Data Platform team builds the systems that make that data easy to produce, find, query, and trust. We work in two modes: we build
platform components that other systems plug into
(for example, a metrics library that training frameworks integrate to record and retrieve run data), and we
own core datasets end to end
(for example, the data pipeline behind RL transcripts).
As the team's tech lead, your job starts with our users. You'll work directly with researchers — and with the engineers who support them — to understand how they actually work, where managing data slows them down, and where a well-built platform component or a well-curated dataset would change what's possible. You'll turn what you learn into technical direction for the team, in partnership with the team's manager, who owns priorities and people. A central ambition you'll drive: a small set of canonical, well-documented datasets — starting with the core data model for RL — that researchers trust and standardize on, rather than every team managing its own copies.
You'll spend your first few months close to the code and close to users: shipping improvements in our core systems, embedding with research teams, and building your own map of their workflows. As the team grows, this role has a natural path into formal people leadership for someone who wants it.
Responsibilities
Work directly with researchers and the engineers supporting them to understand their workflows, identify the highest-leverage opportunities, and shape what the team builds next
Set the technical direction for the team across our platform and our datasets
Design and build platform components that other teams plug into — libraries, services, and interfaces such as the metrics library used by training frameworks
Own core datasets end to end: the pipelines that produce them, the schemas that define them, and the documentation and guarantees that make researchers trust them
Drive convergence toward canonical datasets — including the core data model for RL transcripts — that research teams standardize on
Lead complex, multi-quarter projects that span several systems and teams, staying hands-on in the code
Raise the team's technical bar through design reviews, mentorship, and the quality of your own work
You may be a good fit if you:
Have built and operated data-intensive systems at scale — pipelines, storage layers, query systems — with strong instincts for data modeling and schema design that hold up as usage grows
Have set technical direction for a team, or owned the architecture of a data platform that other teams build on
Treat internal users as customers: you do the discovery work, iterate with users, and measure success by adoption rather than by shipping
Understand that researchers aren’t typical internal customers — the work is exploratory by nature, workflows differ from team to team, and requirements are discovered through experiments rather than specified up front
Can build for that motion — keeping interfaces stable and data trustworthy while use cases change underneath you, and judging when a quick, disposable solution serves research better than a durable one
Lead through influence — aligning engineers and stakeholders without relying on formal authority
Are results-oriented and pragmatic, willing to do unglamorous work when it's the highest-leverage thing
Are excited about learning the fundamentals of machine learning research (deep ML expertise is not required)
Care about the societal impacts of your work
Strong candidates may also have
Experience with large-scale ETL and columnar or analytical storage (e.g., Spark, BigQuery, ClickHouse, DuckDB, Parquet)
Experience with metrics or experiment-tracking systems, or high-volume time-series data
Experience with dataset management, cataloging, or lineage tooling
Built developer tooling or internal data platforms for demanding technical users — including in domains like quantitative trading, where fast-moving, exploratory data work looks a lot like research
A working knowledge of machine learning
Worked in, or closely with, an ML research lab
Interest in — or experience with — people management and growing engineers

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
This is NOT a new grad role! This role is for candidates with 0-2 YOE and can start full time right away.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an engineer at Notion, you’ll help shape core user experiences and accelerate how people discover value in Notion. You'll tackle meaningful challenges with increasing autonomy, crafting code that millions of users will experience. You'll take ownership of projects that matter, make critical technical decisions, and contribute your unique perspective to our product vision. Working alongside passionate experts across design, product, and data, you'll help shape the future of how people work.
We're looking for an Early Career AI Engineer to join as a strategic partner in shaping Notion's AI vision. You'll work on cutting-edge AI-powered features, leveraging LLMs, embeddings, and other AI technologies to make Notion more intelligent and capable.
This role may be aligned to one of multiple AI-focused teams at Notion. Depending on team match and business needs, you could work on:
- AI product engineering: building model-powered features end-to-end (UX, APIs, retrieval, orchestration, quality, and reliability)
- Model & systems engineering: improving model integration and performance (latency, cost, safety, robustness) and building the infrastructure that supports model serving and experimentation
- Evaluation & quality (evals): creating evaluation frameworks and automated/ human-in-the-loop testing to measure and improve model and product quality
WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE
- Partner with your team to prototype and ship an AI-powered product improvement
- Own a scoped productionization project: integrate a new model/technique into an existing workflow, add monitoring + guardrails, or improve latency/cost/reliability.
- Contribute to evals and iteration loops: build or extend an evaluation set, run experiments, analyze results, and translate learnings into product or system changes.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
- You have less than two years of engineering experience. You have solid fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems, with a customer-minded, pragmatic approach to solving problems.
- Expertise building and prototyping: You’re excited to build and iterate quickly, and you’ve started exploring AI/ML through coursework, projects, internships, or hackathons. You’re comfortable learning how different parts of a product fit together (UI, APIs, data), have some familiarity with relational databases like Postgres or MySQL, and can take an idea from prototype to a working feature with guidance.
- Thoughtful problem-solving: You approach problems holistically, starting with a clear and accurate understanding of the context. You think about the implications of what you're building and how it will impact real people's lives. You can navigate ambiguity successfully, decompose complex problems into clean solutions, while also balancing the business impact of what you’re building.
- Impact-driven approach to technology: You see technologies as tools to achieve user impact rather than ends in themselves. You care more about building successful systems that solve real problems than about using specific tech stacks or following trends. You stay current with the latest tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and other AI-assisted development environments, you're pragmatic about choosing the right tool for the job, focusing on what delivers the most value to users and the business.
- Proactive communication and high agency: You own your work, communicating clearly about progress and blockers. You don't wait for instructions for every step but rather show initiative in identifying what needs to be done and driving projects forward. You ask questions when needed while independently finding solutions to problems.
NICE TO HAVES
- You have experience with any part of our technology stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, and Elasticsearch.
- You care about the interaction between technology and society, the ways in which they inform each other, and our responsibility as technologists to be conscious of that relationship.
- You've heard of computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, and others—and understand why we're big fans of their work.
