Our client is a progressive global plastic recycling business with three distinct divisions: (1) Plastic Recycling; (2) Recycled Supply Chain Management; and (3) Recycled & Waste Plastic Feedstock. Their expert global team combine impressive technical knowledge and capability with a passion for recycling and the circular economy. Our client is passionate about transforming waste into a valuable commodity, buying, selling and recycling scrap plastic.

They have grown a strong, talented team who are highly trained, dedicated and loyal. They are headquartered in Hong Kong with operations and representation in Australia, Finland, Ireland, Turkey, Spain, Netherlands & UK. The Commercial Director will own the commercial direction and performance of Asia. This includes developing the regional commercial plan, prioritising strategic verticals, building supplier and buyer relationships, creating account plans, coaching the team, improving deal quality and ensuring the region is aligned with our client’s wider strategy.

Determine the countries and regions where purchasing and/or sales representation is required on the ground
Identify capability gaps and work with Talent to hire only where there is a clear leverage case.
Use data, commercial intelligence and market feedback to make decisions quickly and change direction when required.
Lead the team to constantly enhance sales skills, material knowledge and industry knowledge through formal training, coaching and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead Asia’s contribution to becoming First Choice for strategic customers and suppliers.
Work with operations, logistics, finance, technical and compliance teams to understand what customers value beyond price.
Develop solution-led value propositions for priority verticals and accounts.

Asia has a clear commercial plan focused on strategic accounts, priority verticals and profitable growth.
The team is producing higher-quality opportunities, stronger pipeline and better follow-through.
Strategic customers and suppliers are being developed through account plans, executive relationships and better service.
A growing share of GP comes from repeatable, contracted or strategic relationships.
The current commercial team becomes more effective without simply adding more people.
Commercial activity is better aligned with operations, logistics, finance, compliance and technical capability.

We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and a commitment to balancing Family along the way. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
Our co-founders are Bret Taylor https://www.linkedin.com/in/brettaylor/ and Clay Bavor https://www.linkedin.com/in/claybavor/. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
- APX is Sierra’s rotational program to develop the next generation of AI builders.
- In the age of AI, we believe generalists with diverse training and experience will become more important and empowered than ever. Instead of specializing early in an engineering, product management, or business subfield, the next generation of AI leaders will be able to do everything it takes to create, ship, and distribute great products.
- As an APX, you’ll be among the first to live in this exciting future. You’ll build AI agents directly with top global brands and gain access to comprehensive training opportunities and rotations across our Agent Development and Core Product teams. If you’re hungry to shape the most important technological wave of our lifetimes, come build at Sierra.
- The APX program is open to students graduating from undergraduate or Master’s programs by June 2027.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and ship AI agents with Sierra’s customers in a fast-paced, production environment.
- Contribute directly to Sierra’s platform by writing code and designing products.
- Learn how we build agents that operate at scale and evolve through real-world usage.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and operators across the company.
- Participate in internal reviews and product discussions to push the boundaries of what agents can do.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or comparable program) in Computer Science or a related field.
- Professional experience in software engineering or product management, especially with customer-facing responsibilities.
- Expertise in React, TypeScript, Python, Go, and other modern programming languages.
- Demonstrated curiosity and interest in AI applications (e.g., research, jobs, side projects).
OUR VALUES
- Trust: We build trust with our customers with our accountability, empathy, quality, and responsiveness. We build trust in AI by making it more accessible, safe, and useful. We build trust with each other by showing up for each other professionally and personally, creating an environment that enables all of us to do our best work.
- Customer Obsession: We deeply understand our customers’ business goals and relentlessly focus on driving outcomes, not just technical milestones. Everyone at the company knows and spends time with our customers. When our customer is having an issue, we drop everything and fix it.
- Craftsmanship: We get the details right, from the words on the page to the system architecture. We have good taste. When we notice something isn’t right, we take the time to fix it. We are proud of the products we produce. We continuously self-reflect to continuously self-improve.
- Intensity: We know we don’t have the luxury of patience. We play to win. We care about our product being the best, and when it isn’t, we fix it. When we fail, we talk about it openly and without blame so we succeed the next time.
- Family: We know that balance and intensity are compatible, and we model it in our actions and processes. We are the best technology company for parents. We support and respect each other and celebrate each other’s personal and professional achievements.

ABOUT US
Sierra is the leading platform for customer-facing AI agents, working with many of the world's biggest brands — including The GAP, Rocket Mortgage, SoFi, Sutter Health, and SoftBank — to transform how they serve customers and grow their businesses.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design and deliver production-grade AI agents https://sierra.ai/blog/meet-the-ai-agent-engineer: You'll build and ship highly performant, reliable, and intuitive AI agents that are central, mission-critical and drive revenue directly to Sierra's growth. You'll be responsible for building, tuning, and evolving AI agents in production environments, defining the standard for ADLC best practices along the way.
- Partner with large enterprises and cutting-edge startups: You’ll work directly with leaders at some of the world’s largest enterprises to understand their most pressing business challenges, and build AI agents that transform how they operate at scale. You'll also partner with the most cutting-edge startups in Silicon Valley, embedding AI agents across their entire business stack to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Build the future of the platform: Your direct work with customers will guide the evolution of Sierra's core platform. You'll surface unmet needs, prototype new tools and features, and collaborate with research, product, and platform to shape the future of AI agent development and Sierra's product.
