About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is building custom silicon for Claude. The hardware our models run on is one of the most direct levers we have on capability, cost, and reliability — and we've decided to take design authority over it ourselves.
We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end execution of our silicon, from architecture definition through tapeout, first-silicon bring-up, and production ramp. You'll be working alongside a small group of domain experts across front-end design, verification, physical design, DFT, analog/mixed-signal, foundry, and packaging. There is no process to inherit — you'll build the execution machinery this program runs on.
This is a partner-heavy program by design. You'll drive a portfolio of external engagements — ASIC design services, IP vendors, foundry, and OSAT. You should have shipped chips before, know what a realistic silicon schedule looks like and its failure modes, and be comfortable making consequential program calls without a large organization behind you. And because this is Anthropic, you'll have Claude as a collaborator — we expect the TPMs on this team to push hard on what AI-assisted program management can look like.
Key responsibilities
Own the integrated silicon program plan — architecture closure, RTL freeze, DV milestones, IP delivery, PD closure, DFT, tapeout, and post-silicon bring-up.
Drive external partner execution across ASIC design partners, IP vendors, foundry, and packaging/test.
Run technology and IP selection as a program: track candidate vendors and options, drive evaluations to a decision, and land the build / buy / license calls with engineering leadership.
Build the execution mechanisms a silicon team needs — milestone definitions, risk and dependency tracking, design reviews, release management, exec reporting — and keep them lightweight enough that engineers actually use them.
Manage the interface between silicon and its consumers: hardware systems for package/board/bring-up, and inference/kernels/compiler teams for hardware-software co-design, so trade-offs land as coordinated decisions rather than late surprises.
Own the post-silicon program — bring-up planning, ATE/test handoff, sample distribution, validation, and the path to production readiness.
Develop and share AI-assisted approaches to program management — schedule and dependency modeling, spec and milestone consistency checking, partner-deliverable tracking, status synthesis.
Minimum qualifications
8+ years in silicon/SoC program management, chip lead, or an equivalent role that owned a chip schedule end to end.
Direct ownership of at least one program that taped out and reached production, with milestones you can speak to in detail — including where it slipped and what you did about it.
Working technical fluency across the silicon lifecycle — front-end, DV, PD, DFT, foundry, packaging.
Experience running external silicon partners — ASIC houses, IP vendors, foundry, or OSAT — including SOW scoping, delivery tracking, and escalation.
Track record of building program mechanisms from scratch on an ambiguous, fast-moving effort.
Strong written communication — plans, reviews, and exec updates that many teams depend on.
Comfort operating with high autonomy and limited process on a highly dynamic program.
Preferred qualifications
Experience on ML accelerators, high-performance compute, networking, or other large, high-bandwidth SoCs at advanced process nodes.
Experience on a first-generation or early silicon program, including standing up flows, methodology, or vendor relationships from nothing.
Experience with both partner-executed and fully in-house programs, and a view on the trade-offs between them.
Prior hands-on engineering background in one or more silicon domains (design, DV, PD, DFT, or SI/PI).
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and co-design with a hardware systems team.
Experience with hardware-software co-design programs — working directly with compiler, kernel, or runtime teams.
Practical experience using AI tools in your own workflow, and clear ideas about where they help and where they don't.
BS/MS in EE, CE, CS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Anthropic trains and serves frontier AI models on some of the largest accelerator fleets in the world, and we're now building the custom hardware systems that fleet will run on — from the package boundary out through boards, racks, interconnect, power, cooling, and the datacenter interface.
We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to own execution of these hardware systems from concept through production deployment. You'll drive the program that turns architecture and specs into boards and racks that ship — managing ODMs, CMs, and component vendors on one side, and coordinating silicon, firmware, infrastructure software, supply chain, and datacenter teams on the other.
This is a role on a new hardware team. You'll build the program cadence, review structure, and NPI process this team runs on. We need someone who has shipped hardware at scale, has a realistic view of ODM/CM schedules and where they break, and is comfortable owning consequential program calls without a large organization behind them.
Key responsibilities
Own the integrated hardware systems program plan across board, chassis, rack, and interconnect — from requirements through EVT/DVT/PVT, qualification, and production ramp — and be the source of truth on schedule, risk, and readiness.
Drive execution with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and component/optics vendors: SOWs, build schedules, deliverable tracking, factory readiness, and escalation when they slip.
Stand up and run the NPI cadence — build matrix, engineering reviews, DFx, issue triage, exit criteria — and keep it lightweight enough that a small, senior team actually uses it.
Drive the bring-up and validation program for new platforms: lab and pilot-rack logistics, firmware/BMC/diagnostics coordination, test coverage, and the reliability and telemetry targets a platform has to hit before it enters the fleet.
Own the interfaces that make or break a hardware program: silicon (samples, package, power/thermal envelopes), datacenter (power, cooling, rack integration, deployment windows), infrastructure software (management plane, provisioning, telemetry), and supply chain (long-lead components, second-sourcing, allocation).
Run partner and technology evaluations as a program — candidate ODMs, reference platforms, connector/optics/memory options — and land build / buy / co-design recommendations with the architecture team.
Own program communication upward and outward — for an audience that ranges from architects to executives.
Develop and share AI-assisted approaches to hardware program management — issue-tracker synthesis, build-readiness checking, spec/BOM consistency, ODM-report digestion.
Minimum qualifications
8+ years in hardware systems / NPI program management for compute, networking, storage, or accelerator platforms.
Direct ownership of at least one platform from concept through volume production — you can walk through its EVT/DVT/PVT arc, what broke, and how you recovered.
Working technical fluency across the hardware stack — power delivery, thermal, mechanical, high-speed interconnect, board design, system management — sufficient to interrogate status and push back credibly on architects and vendors.
Experience managing ODMs/CMs and component vendors, including SOW negotiation, build tracking, quality escapes, and escalation.
Track record of standing up program mechanisms on a new or early-stage hardware effort, not just operating inside a mature PLC.
Strong written communication — plans, reviews, and exec updates that many teams depend on.
Comfort operating with high autonomy and limited process in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with AI/ML accelerator systems (GPU, TPU, custom ASIC), HPC, or hyperscale datacenter platforms and their scale-up / scale-out fabrics.
Experience taking a first-generation, custom-silicon-based system from bring-up through fleet deployment.
Experience with liquid-cooled and/or high-density rack architectures, rack level high power distribution, or optical interconnect programs.
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and coordinating tightly with a silicon team.
Experience with datacenter integration, deployment, and fleet-scale reliability/RAS programs.
Practical experience using AI tools in your own workflow, and clear ideas about where they help and where they don't.
BS/MS in EE, CE, ME, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic runs some of the largest AI training and inference workloads in the world, across multiple hardware platforms. We work from the chip level up with our silicon partners, and we are now deepening that investment by building a custom silicon team.
You will be one of a small number of people covering a large surface. We are opening searches across the key domains below, and we are interested in candidates whose center of gravity sits in any of them:
Front-end design
Pre-silicon verification
Physical design
Design for test
Analog and mixed-signal
Technology and foundry
CAD and design infrastructure
Packaging, signal integrity, and power integrity
This is a role for someone who has shipped silicon, has a realistic relationship with schedules, and is comfortable making consequential calls without a large organization behind them.
Key responsibilities
Take part in end to end activities for the program: strategy, specification, execution and the technical bar.
Write the specifications and interface definitions that others design against and keep them coherent as the architecture converges
Make and own directional calls: technology and IP selection, where we build versus buy versus license, and where we take design authority versus rely on partners
Build and share AI-assisted approaches to the code-like parts of your domain, and help the team learn what Claude can genuinely accelerate
Contribute to the architecture and micro-architecture discussion from your domain's perspective, including the tradeoffs your area imposes on the rest of the chip
Partner with Anthropic's inference, performance, kernels, and infrastructure teams on hardware-software co-design, and with our hardware systems team on bring-up and integration
Support first-silicon bring-up and debug when it arrives, regardless of which domain you came in through
Minimum qualifications
Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one silicon domain: front-end design, pre-silicon verification, physical design, design for test, analog and mixed-signal, technology and foundry, design infrastructure, or packaging and signal/power integrity
Direct personal contribution to silicon that taped out and shipped, with ownership you can speak to in detail
Working fluency in the domains adjacent to your own, sufficient to reason about chip-level tradeoffs outside your specialty
Experience working with external partners — ASIC houses, IP vendors, foundries, or test partners — including reviewing their work and holding a technical bar
Track record of owning directional technical decisions and their consequences, not only making recommendations
Practical experience using AI coding tools in your own work, and clear ideas about where they help and where they do not
Clear written and verbal communication, and experience driving alignment across teams and organizations
Comfort operating with high autonomy and little scaffolding on a highly dynamic program
Preferred qualifications
Experience on machine learning accelerators, high-performance compute, or other large, high-bandwidth designs
Experience on a founding or early-stage silicon team, including standing up flows, methodology, or tooling from nothing
Experience with both partner-executed and fully in-house programs, and a view on the tradeoffs between them
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and the tradeoffs that cross it
Experience with hardware-software co-design and working directly with compiler, kernel, or runtime teams
Experience building or extending AI-assisted design, verification, or physical design flows
Depth in memory subsystems, on-die interconnect, numerics, or low-power design
Representative projects
Writing the specification for a compute datapath and defending its numeric format strategy against the alternatives
Standing up front-end flows and release management from scratch, then handing releases to an ASIC partner on a fixed cadence
Running fast in-house place-and-route loops on a critical block and feeding PPA reality back into the architecture
Selecting and qualifying PHY IP, then validating it on first silicon
Building a formal verification methodology for a new block and deciding where formal earns its keep versus simulation
Defining test strategy and the automated-test-equipment handoff interface with our partner
Prototyping a Claude-assisted workflow for RTL review, coverage triage, or specification consistency checking, and reporting honestly on what it did and did not do
Debugging a first-silicon failure that crosses your domain and someone else's

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic trains and serves frontier AI models on some of the largest and most diverse accelerator fleets in the world, and the hardware those models run on is one of the most direct levers we have on capability, cost, and reliability. Our Hardware Systems team owns the system-level architecture of that compute — from the package boundary out through boards, racks, interconnect, power, cooling, and the datacenter interface.
We're hiring senior hardware systems architects and technical leads who can work broadly across the hardware stack and go deep where it's needed, and who have the judgment to make and own directional calls — what to build, what to buy, what to co-design with a partner. You'll set architecture, write the specs that partners and internal teams build against, and own the validation and qualification strategy that proves the result.
The skillsets we need span power, cooling, mechanical, interconnect, signal integrity, data and control plane, system management, reliability and serviceability — applied across networking, compute, storage, and accelerator systems.
You'll work closely with our ML performance, infrastructure software, supply chain, and datacenter teams, and directly with hardware vendors and partners across the stack. And because this is Anthropic, you'll have Claude as a genuine collaborator — we expect this team to push on what AI-assisted hardware design and review can look like.
Key responsibilities
Own system path-finding and architecture for your domain across the breadth of compute Anthropic deploys — from concept and requirements through spec, design review, and deployment — and act as a reviewer and thought partner across the others.
Write and own high-level requirements and specifications — system, board, interface, rack — that partners and internal teams build against.
Review partner and vendor designs against our requirements, make the build / buy / co-design calls with supply chain and partnership teams, and surface misalignment or schedule risk early enough to act on it.
Drive the interconnect and networking architecture that ties our systems together — scale-up and scale-out fabrics, NICs and switches, optics, and topology.
Drive board-, chassis-, and system-level architecture with our partners — major component placement, PCB architecture, connector and cable design, and power and thermal budgeting — at the chassis, rack, and data-hall level.
Develop performance simulations, hardware models, and "what-if" scenarios to evaluate and choose between candidate hardware architectures.
Define validation, bring-up, and qualification strategy for new platforms — including the telemetry and reliability targets they need to hit in the fleet — and track the technology roadmaps and vendor landscape that shape what we deploy in the short and long term.
Partner with ML performance and infrastructure software teams so hardware decisions land well for the workloads that actually run on them.
Help shape how hardware engineering operates at Anthropic — develop and apply AI-assisted approaches to design, spec review, and validation; establish review forums, spec standards, and partner engagement.
Minimum qualifications
Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one core hardware-systems domain (e.g., interconnect, power, thermal) for large-scale compute or networking systems.
Experience owning hardware system architecture at scale — machine, rack, row, and cluster — and authoring specifications and requirements.
Experience taking hardware from architecture through bring-up and high-volume production deployment.
Experience working with external hardware vendors and partners — reviewing their designs and holding them to a specification.
Ability to reason about trade-offs across adjacent hardware domains (e.g., interconnect ↔ power ↔ thermal ↔ mechanical) rather than within a single one.
Track record of technical leadership — owning directional decisions and their consequences, and driving alignment across teams and partners.
Comfort operating with high autonomy and limited process in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
Strong written communication — you'll write specs and reviews that many teams depend on.
Preferred qualifications
8+ years in hardware systems architecture or engineering for hyperscale, HPC, AI/ML, or high-end networking platforms.
Experience with AI accelerator systems (GPU, TPU, or other custom ASIC platforms) and their scale-up / scale-out fabrics.
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and co-design.
Experience establishing a new function, program, or engineering practice.
Comfort working with — and curiosity about pushing — AI tools as part of an engineering workflow.
Degree in EE, CE, ME, CS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Depth in one or more of:
High-speed SerDes, PCIe/CXL, Ethernet/InfiniBand, and optical interconnect.
BMC and platform firmware, hardware root of trust, and secure boot.
48V/HVDC power delivery and direct liquid cooling.
Fleet-scale reliability engineering and RAS architecture.
Signal and power integrity.
Representative projects
Define the scale-up and scale-out interconnect architecture for a next-generation training platform, from link budget and topology through switch / NIC / optics selection and the bring-up and validation plan.
Architect the management and control plane for a new hardware system: BMC and host control, power / reset sequencing, secure boot and attestation, and the telemetry surface the fleet needs.
Own the rack-level power and thermal architecture for a liquid-cooled accelerator rack, and the interface spec between that rack and the datacenter that hosts it.
Build the reliability model and RAS strategy for a multi-thousand-node fleet — failure budgets, derating policy, telemetry requirements, and serviceability targets — and drive the design changes that hit them.
Run the technical evaluation of a partner's proposed system design against our requirements, write up where it falls short, and drive the changes end to end.
Prototype an AI-assisted workflow for partner design review and spec consistency checking, and put it to work on a live platform.

As an AV Production Specialist, you'll own the day-to-day operation of the event technology behind how Anthropic communicates — the all-hands, the executive presentations, the live broadcasts. You are the owner of these productions: accountable for their technical outcome from the moment a request arrives through to the follow-up after the room clears, and the technical partner our executives, events team, and communications partners rely on to make them land.
This is an operations role with engineering depth behind it. You'll work across the same technology stack as our broadcast engineering practice with your center of gravity in execution and service. You'll keep our event spaces in a state of readiness through preventative maintenance, and be the calm, capable presence that executives, comms partners, and event producers learn to trust. Your work directly enables the collaboration and transparency that advance our AI safety mission.
Responsibilities
Live Event Production & Run-of-Show
Own the technical execution of live and hybrid events, from small executive presentations to company-wide all-hands broadcasts reaching thousands of participants
Serve as technical director for live productions across the full range, up to and including executive presentations and company-wide broadcasts Operate production systems during live events including video switchers, audio consoles, camera systems, playback, and streaming encoders
Build and run the technical run-of-show: cue sheets, source lists, rehearsal schedules, and backup plans
Direct contractors and onsite technicians during productions, delegating clearly under time pressure
Troubleshoot and escalate complex production issues with clear diagnostic context
Communicate status, risk, and resolution to non-technical stakeholders in clear, calm, jargon-free language
Handle confidentiality and access requirements for sensitive sessions, including recording and streaming controls
Event Intake, Scoping & Scheduling
Own the event technology intake process end-to-end: request triage, technical scoping conversations, and staffing
Right-size production approach to event type, translating stakeholder goals into an equipment and staffing plan that fits the constraints and scope of our team’s SLA
Take on genuinely novel events and leave a repeatable standard behind — a template, runbook, or gear list that makes the next one easier than the first and repeatable by the team
Maintain the event technology calendar and coordinate coverage across the AV Operations team
Partner with Events, Internal Communications, and Workplace teams on lead times, expectations, and readiness
Support Operations & Room Health
Execute preventative maintenance programs and recurring room sweeps across event spaces and conference rooms
Maintain and test inventory of equipment including wireless microphones, cameras, and portable production gear pre event, following event production framework
Contribute to runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base documentation
Surface recurring operational pain points to AV Engineering as candidates for systemic fixes
You May Be a Good Fit If You:
Have 8+ years of hands-on experience in AV operations, live event production, or technical event support
Have owned the technical side of live productions end-to-end — not just operated a single position
Bring working fluency across event audio, video, camera, and streaming systems, with enough depth to diagnose problems rather than only report them
Are energized rather than drained by being the front-facing technical partner to executives and event producers
Bring structure to ambiguity by building systems for repeatable events
Strong Candidates May Also Have:
Technical direction for corporate broadcasts, conferences, or multi-camera productions
Q-SYS DSP platform, including reading and reasoning about existing audio/video routing and control designs
PTZ and professional camera systems, camera control units, and multi-camera workflows
Video conferencing platforms and hardware including Google Meet, Zoom Rooms, and hybrid meeting technologies
Live streaming workflows including encoders and encoding settings, contribution and delivery protocols (RTMP, SRT, HLS)
Network fundamentals for AV-over-IP including multicast, VLANs, QoS, and bandwidth management
Ticketing and workflow systems such as Jira, and building intake or request workflows within them
Coordinating AV contractors, integrators, and labor for event coverage
Role Specific Location Policy:
This role will be based in our San Francisco HQ
This role is expected to be in office 5 days per week
Occasional evening and early-morning coverage is expected around major events
4-6 weeks of travel annually will be expected for this role for distributed event support as needed
Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis.

About the Team
Foragers is a new Field Services team within our physical infrastructure organization. We're the boots on the ground for Anthropic's physical infrastructure: the people who get hardware into racks, gear commissioned, and sites handed over. The team is being stood up now, so early hires shape how we operate. This role is the lab-focused counterpart to our traveling field engineers. Instead of covering sites across the country, you own our Bay Area hardware labs from end to end.
About the Role
Your mission is to ensure our hardware labs are functional, useful, and ready to support the growing number of teams and projects that need access to physical hardware. You’d own what shows up, how it’s powered, cooled, cabled, tracked, set up, and made functional. This includes both standard hardware (think typical accelerator setups) and more specialized ones like ensuring our security teams have access to all the right headers and other hardware instrumentation on the machines.
Understanding and anticipating the needs of the various teams that rely on the labs will be another critical part of this role. You’ll be expected to take a lot of ownership and initiative over the lab and what’s in it, including reaching out to partner teams to figure out what they’d need in the future and making sure it’s there before it starts to block them. This will require you to collaborate closely with those partner teams, so a breadth of knowledge around hardware is extremely useful.
You’d be the first dedicated lab manager, so part of this role will include shaping it to scale from our current lab to much larger ones.
What You’ll Do
Run the physical lab across both sites: receiving and staging, rack-and-stack, cabling, power distribution and load planning, cooling, floor layout
Bring up new server and accelerator platforms as they arrive, from crate to a machine someone can SSH into: firmware and BIOS/UEFI setup, out-of-band management, OS install, network provisioning
Own hardware procurement for the lab: work with teams on what's coming, order ahead of need, chase quotes and lead times, keep receiving and inventory in order
Own RMA processes end-to-end for lab hardware: triage, swap, ship, track, close; drive vendor escalations
Build the one-off setups engineers ask for: debug and programming harnesses (JTAG/SWD/UART), remote power switching, console and KVM access, and the occasional improvised fix for hardware running outside the conditions it was designed for
Oversee smarthands and contractor work on-site (electricians, cabling crews, riggers, integrators, OEM field engineers): scope it, dispatch it, validate the quality
Handle physical access, asset auditing, and lifecycle tracking for hardware that is expensive and sometimes pre-release
Write it down: build the playbooks and lightweight tooling (inventory, remote power, console access) so remote teams can use the lab without pinging you for every step
Who You Are
Hands-on experience running a hardware, systems, or datacenter lab, or a similar physical compute environment: rack-and-stack, copper and fiber cabling, power distribution (PDUs, circuits, phase balancing)
Working knowledge of server hardware and its management plane: BMC/IPMI/Redfish, BIOS/UEFI configuration, serial console, PXE/network boot, firmware updates
Enough Linux and networking (VLANs, DHCP, DNS, basic switch config) to take a bare machine to a state a remote engineer can use
Have managed vendors, contractors, quotes, and freight for physical equipment
Comfortable and safe with power tools, bench power supplies, and a wiring or rack elevation diagram
Work independently with minimal supervision , and know when to ask
Bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity: you'd rather move and adjust than wait for perfect information
Communicate clearly and directly, especially when flagging risks or blockers
Strong Candidates May Also Have
Stood up a lab or datacenter room from empty: layout, power and cooling budget, first round of purchasing
Time around high-density accelerator systems (GPU/TPU-class racks), liquid cooling, or pre-release/NPI hardware bring-up
Electronics bench skills: soldering and rework, scope and multimeter, custom cable and debug harnesses, JTAG probes, light fabrication (3D printing, drilling, mounting)
Supported hardware security, firmware, or platform bring-up work
Experience with DCIM or asset-management tooling (NetBox, ServiceNow, etc.)
Bought hard-to-source or specialty hardware and dealt with the compliance and logistics that come with it
Location
This role is based in our San Francisco office (500 Howard St). Travel to nearby lab spaces is required so expect to be in-office more frequently than Anthropic's standard 25% hybrid baseline.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Search Platform team. This team builds the search stack behind Claude: the indexes, retrieval and ranking systems and serving infrastructure that power web search across
claude.ai
, the API and agentic surfaces.
Search is core to how Claude answers questions about the world, and the team owns both the problem and the solution end to end: growing the index, improving retrieval quality and running the serving stack at production scale. The same platform also serves research workloads, so demand comes from multiple user surfaces, often at the same time.
The role carries a product dimension. Search sits close to the user experience and PM coverage is thin at times, so often the EM helps decide what a good search experience looks like, not just how to build it. You'll partner with product teams shipping search-backed features, research teams that depend on retrieval quality and capacity, and the infrastructure teams that run the systems underneath.
We're looking for someone with real search experience who can be hands-on when needed: reviewing designs, digging into relevance regressions and holding their own in technical debates.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and grow the team of engineers building Anthropic's search platform: indexing, retrieval, ranking and serving
Own the strategy and roadmap for the platform and how Claude's search needs are met over time
Own search quality: evaluation methodology, relevance measurement, regression detection and the ranking improvements they drive
Operate the platform at scale, balancing product traffic against research and training demand while holding a high bar on reliability, latency and cost
Wear the product hat when the work calls for it: prioritize what the search experience needs, sequence launches and represent search in product discussions
Drive cross-team collaboration with product, research and infrastructure partners; articulate dependencies, risks and progress clearly
Be hands-on where it matters: design reviews, incident follow-ups and the occasional deep dive into why relevance moved
Recruit, close and retain strong engineers in a competitive market
Minimum Qualifications
Significant experience managing engineering teams, including hiring and growing a team through rapid change
Direct experience building or operating search systems at scale: indexing, retrieval, ranking or query serving
Enough technical depth to be hands-on when needed; you can review designs, read code and engage credibly with senior ICs
A product mindset and comfort making product calls when there isn't a PM in the room
A track record of running high-scale, latency-sensitive production systems with real reliability requirements
Strong cross-functional skills; you can align product, research and infrastructure partners with different priorities
Experience recruiting and closing senior engineers
Interest in AI safety and Anthropic's mission
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the economics of search: index freshness, storage and serving costs, quality vs cost tradeoffs
Background in embeddings, ranking models or ML-based retrieval
Experience migrating traffic off a vendor onto in-house infrastructure
Exposure to LLM products and the retrieval demands of large-scale training and inference

We are seeking a Director, Technical Accounting – M&A to join our Finance team at Anthropic. In this role, you will support the company's accounting for mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, and other complex capital transactions. You will report to the Senior Director, Technical Accounting – M&A
As Anthropic continues to scale rapidly and deploy capital into acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures, and novel commercial structures, you will be a key technical resource on structuring alternatives, consolidation outcomes, and financial statement impact. You will partner closely with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and leadership to ensure that deal economics are accurately reflected under US GAAP and that positions are defensible to external auditors, valuation specialists, and future regulators.
This is a builder role: you'll help operate and continuously sharpen the controls, valuation governance, and close-ready documentation expected of a large accelerated filer, working alongside the Senior Director as the function takes shape. If you thrive on being in the room when deals are shaped — and then making the accounting land cleanly — we want to hear from you.
In this role, you will:
Execute technical accounting for business combinations, asset acquisitions, joint ventures, and related financing/equity structures

Code RL at Anthropic drives reinforcement learning efforts behind Claude's coding capabilities, creating and scaling agentic coding environments. This is an engineering role with unusual latitude to set technical direction and standards.
You'll be part of a team solving the engineering side of research efforts such as embedding with research teams, getting up to speed on their systems and needs, and designing the frameworks, APIs, and infrastructure that let researchers move faster, then rotating off, leaving behind well-oiled systems those teams can understand, own, and maintain themselves. Your remit also includes the ongoing health of production RL runs: maintainable, monitored, and straightforward to triage.
The team's problem space spans the client side of sandboxed execution for agentic RL environments, large-scale data processing jobs, the lifecycle of production datasets, and the frameworks researchers build environments on. You won't own all of this yourself, you'll take on the slices where your depth matters most. You'll be a strong fit if you have deep expertise in Python, a refined sense of taste for API and framework design, and hard-won intuition for how complex systems fail — especially silently. You should be comfortable diving into messy research code, finding the load-bearing abstractions, and improving them incrementally while researchers continue to build on top of your work.
Key responsibilities
Design widely-used APIs, frameworks, and abstractions that other engineers and researchers build on, with careful attention to interface legibility and principled defaults
Embed with research teams on a rotational basis: understand their engineering needs, build systems and APIs that support their work, and transfer ownership so teams can maintain those systems after you rotate off
Work directly in research codebases, improving reliability and structure without slowing down the research they support
Anticipate silent failure modes and prevent them structurally through type safety, well-designed invariants, targeted testing, and refactors that shrink the surface area for bugs
Contribute to the reliability of production RL systems, including monitoring, regression detection, and triage tooling
Help define engineering standards, review practices, and design patterns for a new team, and mentor researchers and engineers in adopting them
Minimum qualifications
Deep expertise in Python, including static typing, safe async and concurrency patterns, and writing performant Python code
A track record of designing intuitive, safe APIs or frameworks that other engineers or teams adopted and built on
Experience working productively in large, evolving, or research-style codebases that you didn't originally write
Demonstrated ability to anticipate failure modes — especially silent ones — and prevent them structurally through system design, type safety, and testing
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain system designs to collaborators with varied engineering backgrounds
Comfort with ambiguity: able to scope your own work from a loosely defined problem and drive it to a maintainable outcome
Preferred qualifications
Experience building infrastructure, tooling, or frameworks for machine learning research or RL workflows
Familiarity with reinforcement learning concepts, agentic systems, or LLM training pipelines
Experience building or operating large-scale distributed systems
Experience building client libraries or SDKs on top of sandboxed, containerized, or remote execution platforms
Experience with large-scale data processing or dataset lifecycle management
Experience designing plugin systems or extensible class hierarchies used across an organization
Experience embedding with or consulting for other teams, including successfully handing off systems for others to own
Experience defining code standards, lint rules, or static verification approaches adopted across multiple teams
Prior experience as a technical lead, or setting engineering standards for a team
Prior experience maintaining an open source project
Representative projects
These are examples of the challenges the team tackles; no one person will work on all of them:
Design a base RL environment abstraction general enough to be subclassed across a wide range of environments
Design a model-tool interface for sandboxed agentic environments that has explicit serialization semantics
Partner with the platform teams that own the sandbox runtime to specify low-level features that improve the integrity of agentic coding tasks
Design probes that catch sandbox regressions early
Design the lifecycle and maintenance scheme for a production dataset
Lead a research code refactor replacing loosely structured data containers with equivalents that carry stronger correctness guarantees, without breaking the experiments that depend on them
Design lint rules and code-style requirements that favor statically verifiable patterns — including patterns less likely to be overlooked by an LLM reviewing or writing the code — to shrink the surface area for silent bugs
Build the access layer that lets researchers discover and reuse data artifacts across teams

Anthropic's Environments organization builds and maintains the infrastructure that improves Claude’s capabilities through reinforcement learning. That includes the frameworks researchers use to build environments and the infrastructure responsible for running them. The team's mission is to productionize research. You'll embed with research teams, get up to speed on how they work, and design the frameworks and APIs that let them move faster, building systems the team can understand, own, and maintain themselves. Scope also includes keeping production RL runs healthy, maintainable, monitored, and easy to triage.
You'll be a strong fit if you have deep expertise in Python, a refined sense of taste for API and framework design, and good intuition for how complex systems fail, especially silently. It's a bonus if you've built and operated a stateful distributed system, such as a workflow engine, actor framework, or durable-execution runtime, where correctness depends on getting shared state and recovery right. You should be comfortable diving into messy research code, finding the abstractions that matter, and improving them incrementally while researchers continue to build on your work. You should also be comfortable using AI tools to accelerate your own development, but have an impulse towards deep verification.
Key responsibilities
Design widely used APIs, frameworks, and abstractions that other engineers and researchers build on, making correct usage the default and ruling out entire classes of errors structurally
Own the platform layers that sit beneath every environment, including the agent runtime
Build the tooling that lets environment owners understand, debug, and maintain their environments in production without needing an infrastructure engineer in the loop
Embed with research teams on a rotational basis, work directly in their codebases without slowing down the research they support, and transfer ownership when you rotate off
Anticipate silent failure modes and prevent them structurally through type safety, well-designed invariants, targeted testing, and refactors that reduce the room for correctness issues
Drive adoption of new frameworks across the organization, including deprecations and cutovers
Help define the engineering standards, review practices, and design patterns for a new team, and mentor researchers and engineers in adopting them
Minimum qualifications
Deep expertise in Python, including static typing, safe async and concurrency patterns, and writing performant code
Strong taste in API and framework design, the ability to explain why an interface is right or wrong rather than just recognizing it, and a track record of other engineers or teams adopting and building on frameworks you have built
Experience designing or operating stateful concurrent or distributed systems, and reasoning carefully about failure, retries, idempotency, and consistency
A habit of verification: you measure before you conclude, and you build the checks that let a system show it's correct
Experience working productively in large, evolving, or research-style codebases that you didn't originally write
Strong written and verbal communication with collaborators of varied engineering backgrounds, and comfort with ambiguity: able to scope your own work from a loosely defined problem and drive it to a maintainable outcome
Preferred qualifications
Experience building infrastructure, tooling, or frameworks for machine learning research or RL workflows, and familiarity with agentic systems or LLM training pipelines
Experience building agent frameworks, orchestration engines, or multi-agent systems, including checkpoint and restore, replay, and coordination of long-running stateful processes
Experience using AI coding tools on code where correctness matters, with good judgment about what to delegate and how to make the results verifiable
Experience building client libraries or SDKs on top of sandboxed, containerized, or remote execution platforms
Experience with large-scale data processing, dataset lifecycle management, or data lineage systems
Experience designing serialization schemes, plugin systems, or extensible class hierarchies used across an organization
Experience embedding with or consulting for other teams and handing off systems for others to own, or defining code standards adopted across teams, or prior experience as a technical lead
Representative projects
These are examples of the challenges the team tackles:
Design a base RL environment abstraction that can be subclassed to support the large majority of environments built across RL
Redesign the model-tool interface for sandboxed agentic environments so that state is guaranteed to survive serialization, making it structurally impossible to write a tool that silently loses state
Design the state-sharing and recovery model for multi-agent workloads, so that losing a sandbox partway through a task becomes a transparent resume rather than lost work
Define the failure and retry model for a sandboxed execution platform, distinguishing infrastructure faults from genuine task outcomes so that each is handled correctly
Build the tooling that lets an environment owner diagnose why their environment is unhealthy in a production run, and fix it themselves
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
We're standing up a dedicated executive support function within IT, and we're hiring the IT Support Engineer who will build it. IT Support is the front door for every employee technology need at Anthropic, and this role creates its most visible lane: white-glove support for our executives, their administrative business partners (ABPs), and our board.
You'll define what that service looks like: the support model for execs, board, and ABPs, the runbooks behind it, the intake and escalation paths, and the trusted relationships with ABPs and exec staff that make it work. You'll set the bar for discretion and polish as you go. You'll also be the person our leadership reaches when technology gets in the way. The requests that land in this lane range from routine to highly sensitive, and many arrive urgent: an executive locked out minutes before a meeting, an AV issue in a room full of leadership, a board member who needs setup handled quietly and correctly the first time. You own the request end to end and pull in specialist functions or IT Engineering pods as needed.
Responsibilities
Stand up the executive support intake channels and run it: monitor, respond, and follow through on every request from executives, ABPs, and board members
Define the white-glove service model for discretion-sensitive asks and deliver to it, holding confidentiality under pressure
Design the board-meeting AV support playbook with the AV pod, and provide AV support for executive rooms and board meetings, from setup and pre-checks through live triage
Create exec-support runbooks and SLAs that keep the service consistent as it grows
Build trusted relationships with ABPs and executive staff, and establish clear intake paths so leadership knows exactly where to go
Handle ABP escalations and exec-urgent issues calmly, and route into specialist lanes or IT Engineering pods when a request needs them
Establish the board member device, account, and access setup process with our Onboarding lane
Work the shared ticket queue with the SF Core team: walk-ups, desk-side help, hardware swaps, it-assist overflow, and AV T1 triage
Participate in the Core on-call rotation and contribute to the knowledge base and runbooks
Maintain a regular on-site presence in San Francisco
You may be a good fit if you have
7+ years of experience in IT support and 3+ years in executive support
Experience standing up a service or program from scratch, such as an executive support desk, a VIP support function, or a white-glove service
Experience supporting executives, their assistants, or a board to a white-glove standard
A track record of handling sensitive requests with discretion, and the judgment to know what stays confidential without being told
Strong hands-on IT support fundamentals: macOS-primary fleets, identity and access, SaaS troubleshooting, hardware lifecycle
AV fluency for executive rooms and board meetings: you can set up, verify, and fix a room under time pressure
Composure when an urgent escalation lands, and the judgment to know when to pull in help
High polish and low ego: you take pride in service quality and still pick up whatever the team needs, including the ordinary queue work
A security-first mindset and excellent judgment about when user experience yields to security requirements
Comfort with ambiguity: you can make progress before the process exists, and you enjoy shaping how things should work
The instinct to write things down: runbooks, KB articles, and status updates that keep people informed
Nice to have
Experience supporting a C-suite or board of directors at a company with significant security or compliance requirements
AV depth beyond first response, such as broadcast, live events, or room design input
Experience building runbooks, self-service content, or support automation
Experience supporting AI/ML research environments or highly technical user bases
Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis.

As our Cloud Hyperscaler Readiness Lead, you’ll build scalable programs to set our cloud partners (AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure) up for success. You will support the global sales teams across our cloud partners with content, training, and programming, working closely with Anthropic’s Product Marketing,Partner Enablement, and Cloud Partnership teams. Your job is to develop and curate the right material on a rapid cadence, and to tailor content for each audience, ensuring that the messages, formats, and channels each cloud uses to upskill their sellers and solutions architects can position and deploy Claude with confidence. You’ll stay close to our GTM teams, using what our co-sellers are hearing in the field to sharpen what you build and how it lands. This role is the connective tissue that helps diverse audiences across all our cloud partners understand not just what Claude does but also why it matters to the customers they serve.
Responsibilities
Land our mission and differentiation.
You'll make sure Anthropic's mission and our approach to safe, responsible frontier AI show up accurately and consistently wherever cloud sellers encounter us, so the case for Anthropic as the enterprise's trusted AI partner is clear. When positioning changes, you'll get the update into the right channels quickly and retire what's out of date.
Ensure internal and external readiness.
You'll shape our certifications and scaled training for the way each cloud learns and upskills its people. You won’t simply rinse-and-repeat known patterns; instead, you’ll shape programs that fit each provider's world and map to how its marketplace and co-sell mechanics actually work. Internally, you'll enable Anthropic’s field team to be aware of products and programs and effectively engage CSP partners.
Connect the field to the content.
You'll pair internal assets with what our GTM team are hearing in customer conversations, and turn that traction into co-sell plays and assets the next hundred sellers can use without anyone from our team in the room.
Measuring Impact.
You'll define the signals that connect this work to partner-sourced pipeline, deal velocity, and seller engagement, watch what's actually changing seller behavior, and adjust based on what you see.
You may be a good fit if you have
A working understanding of how Cloud Service Providers go to market
Deep understanding of what motivates sellers, and how to land a message so it gets retained
A track record of taking a narrative or asset to scale through channels you don't own, and showing what changed because of it
Excellent program management skills, a systems mindset, and comfort operating in ambiguity against a fast launch cadence
Experience pairing marketing and enablement content with field feedback to build plays, assets, and/or repeatable programs for internal and external teams
A background in product marketing, partner or channel marketing, sales enablement, or co-sell program management. (We’re also very happy to hear from you if you come from a non-traditional background!)
The ability to make safety and responsibility a credible, compelling part of a commercial story, and genuine interest in Anthropic's mission
Strong presence in front of an audience, from a live seller call to a room of technical and commercial people at once
The ability to influence people you don't manage, across Anthropic and inside large partner organizations
Willingness to dive in and figure out what needs to be done, often without concrete guidance or a large supporting team

GTM Systems builds and runs the platform that Sales and contracting operate on. These are production systems that process real transactions and produce the data the rest of the company depends on, and the team has grown into a scope where the engineering practices need to grow with it. The platform-developer model got us here. The next stage is a team that operates as software engineers on top of it.
We are hiring a technical lead to build that next stage. You will design and stand up the engineering motions the team runs on, from pull requests and CI/CD through automated UAT, and you will set the technical bar by working alongside the team rather than legislating from the side. Anthropic is also an unusual place to do this work: our own frontier models are part of your toolkit, the team already uses them daily, and a real part of this role is turning that individual usage into a coordinated engineering practice.
Key responsibilities
Lead architecture reviews for GTM systems that process lead-to-cash transactions and generate the data points the organization runs on, including changes originating in other teams that land on our platform
Architect and mature the engineering pipeline the team develops against: pull request workflow, CI/CD, automated UAT, and the deploy path from source control to production
Establish shared AI-assisted development standards for the team, converting existing individual usage into consistent practice that holds up under review
Work with engineering teams outside GTM on shared architectural problems and common tooling, where the right answer is a platform decision rather than a local one
Build and shape the agentic tooling running on top of our platform, and set the pattern other engineers follow when they build the next one
Trace the dependency chain from upstream data and downstream quoting and provisioning systems, and make sure design decisions account for what they break
Partner with the platform developers on the team as engineering practice deepens, expanding what the team can safely ship
Minimum qualifications
Have strong software engineering fundamentals: version control discipline, testing, code review, deployment automation, and a bias toward simple designs
Have built the delivery pipeline for a team, not just worked within one, and can describe the sequencing choices you made
Have led a team through a step change in engineering practice as its scope grew, including what you did when adoption slowed
Work fluently with AI coding tools and agentic development workflows, and have views on how a team should standardize around them
Can run a technical discussion across teams that do not report to you and leave it with a decision rather than a follow-up meeting
Reason about systems you do not own well enough to predict how your changes affect them
Prefer influence through demonstrated work over positional authority
Preferred qualifications
Have worked on business-critical enterprise platforms where financial correctness and auditability mattered
Have experience with Salesforce or comparable enterprise platforms, including their metadata and deployment models
Have built tooling or agents on top of an enterprise system of record
Have operated in a company under audit or compliance constraints

About the Role
GTM Systems builds and operates the platform Anthropic's sales and partner teams run on: Salesforce as the core, plus the lead, marketplace, integration, and AI tooling that connect to it. The team is organized into experience pods, each owning one stage of the seller and partner journey.
We're hiring a Technical Program Manager to own program delivery for the GTM systems portfolio. You'll drive roadmap execution, manage the dependencies spanning the seller and partner journey, from lead capture and routing through the core selling motion to marketplace and co-sell tooling,
Responsibilities
Own delivery for your program area's roadmap: intake, prioritization, sequencing, status, and the operating cadence
Manage your program's dependencies on the shared GTM platform
Partner with Business Systems Analysts on requirements and design, and with developers on technical tradeoffs, build-vs-buy calls, and vendor evaluation
Help build the operating model for a team that's scaling: intake, planning, and sequencing practices that hold up as the portfolio grows
Give GTM Systems and Sales leadership a clear view of your program's commitments, risks, and progress
Help bring Claude into the GTM workflow where it makes sellers and partner managers faster
You may be a good fit if you
Have 6+ years of technical program management or business systems delivery experience, with a track record of owning a roadmap end to end
Have worked in or close to a Salesforce-centric GTM or RevOps systems org and understand how lead, opportunity, partner, and quote objects connect
Have managed delivery where multiple teams ship into one core system on a shared release process
Have partnered with audit, controls, or compliance functions on revenue-impacting systems work
Can build trust with business systems analysts, developers, sales operations, and finance, and translate between them
Are comfortable driving outcomes across teams that don't report to you
Are genuinely curious about how AI changes GTM operations and willing to experiment
Strong candidates may also have
Experience with one or more of: lead routing and scoring platforms, marketplace and co-sell tooling, CPQ, partner relationship management
Background in RevOps, sales systems product management, or business systems analysis
Experience standing up release management or CI/CD for a Salesforce org
Familiarity with SOX ITGC or revenue controls

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic's Enterprise AI Products team builds what makes Claude a daily-use tool for enterprise customers across industries. We focus on organizational context and workflows (plugins, skills, connectors, webhook-triggered processes / agents). In other words, we focus on products that form the connective tissue that lets Claude operate across an organization. A big part of this work is understanding what's blocking adoption and building the capabilities that close those gaps. Much of this is being built 0→1 right now: you'll be shaping the product and the architecture in a market where no one has done this well yet.
You'll be a technical leader who thinks holistically about the end-to-end customer experience, partners directly with research to push model capabilities into production, and carries real ownership over what we ship next.
What you'll do
Own technical design and delivery for enterprise-facing core products, end-to-end across the stack
Partner with product, design, and go-to-market to turn enterprise customer workflows into shipped product, not just execute against a spec
Set technical direction and standards for your team: architecture, code quality, and how the team builds
Work directly with enterprise customers and sales during key conversations, translating what you learn into engineering priorities
Work closely with research to make the models better in your domain: shaping evals, surfacing failure modes, and feeding customer learnings back into model development
Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar across the team, working with influence rather than authority
Build multi-player, asynchronous agents: department-level processes that are goal-oriented, many-step, and triggered by a webhook, a form, or an email rather than a person typing
You may be a good fit if you
Have 8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with 2+ years at a Staff or equivalent technical leadership level
Have led the design and delivery of complex enterprise or B2B products across the full stack
Have built AI products and know what it takes to turn model capabilities into applications people actually use
Are comfortable working directly with enterprise customers and translating what you learn into technical decisions
Have built products from 0 to 1 in fast-moving environments, and can set technical direction with limited precedent to lean on
Drive cross-team alignment to ship impactful work, with influence over authority
Strong candidates may also have
Experience working with research to improve domain-specific model capabilities, including evaluation frameworks
Experience building extensibility surfaces (plugins, integrations, agent tooling) that third parties or internal teams build on
Exposure to both product-led growth and direct enterprise sales
