ABOUT BASETEN
Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
WHO WE ARE
Enterprise at Baseten means the companies with the most to gain from AI and the most complexity in getting there: large digital natives running products at massive scale, and category leaders in software, financial services, healthcare, and beyond. They have the data, the distribution, and the budget. Most are still deciding what to build, what to run themselves, and what it should cost.
That makes this a consultative sale. You'll spend as much time helping a VP of Engineering pressure-test their AI strategy as you will selling against an alternative, mapping use cases, framing build-vs-buy, and giving clear recommendations grounded in what you've seen work at the frontier. Then you'll do the enterprise work: multithreading across a buying committee, navigating security and procurement, and turning a first workload into an eight-figure relationship.
You'll work alongside our founders, forward-deployed engineers, and GTM leadership, in a seat where the playbook is still being written.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own a revenue target end to end, from prospecting and outbounding through closing Tier 1 accounts in your verticals
- Act as a strategic advisor on AI adoption: identify use cases, shape architecture decisions, and lead with clear, opinionated recommendations
- Multithread across large organizations, from the engineers running evals to the executives funding the program to security, legal, and procurement
- Win lighthouse customers that become references for their entire industry
- Partner with forward-deployed engineering on technical evaluations, POCs, and architecture reviews
- Feed signal back to product and engineering. What enterprises need next is a roadmap input we don't get anywhere else
REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience in technology, ideally infrastructure, API/platform, or developer tooling
- A track record of closing seven- and eight-figure deals by navigating multi-stakeholder buying committees and long, complex cycles
- Demonstrated ability to run a consultative sale. You've helped customers define a strategy, not just evaluate a product
- Strong technical acumen: you can hold your own on model serving, GPU infrastructure, latency, and API architecture
- Experience selling into large digital natives or regulated industries (financial services, healthcare/life sciences, insurance, government)
- Excellent communication and comfort with high autonomy in a fast-moving environment
NICE TO HAVE
- Direct experience selling AI/ML infrastructure, cloud compute, or model deployment platforms
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)
- Paid parental leave
- Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
- (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)
- Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.
Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
At Baseten, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. THE ROLE
AI Native is our segment for companies whose core product is AI, from their first model in production through serious scale. You'll be the first person at Baseten to reach many of these founders, and you'll win them early.
This is a high-velocity, high-intensity seat. You're running many early-stage opportunities at once, moving fast with founders who move fast, and going deep enough technically to be useful on day one. If you want a front-row seat to the frontier of AI and the ambition to grow into our largest accounts, this is the seat.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source, close, and grow new business with early-stage AI companies. You own pipeline generation, not just what's handed to you
- Run fast, technical sales cycles with founders and early engineering teams, from first call to first production workload
- Prioritize ruthlessly across a high volume of opportunities and drive each one forward without dropping the thread
- Pull in applied research and engineering when a deal needs depth, and keep everyone moving on your timeline
- Bring the field back to product. You see what early AI teams need before the rest of the market does
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of closing sales experience in a SaaS or infrastructure business, with a record of closing
- Genuine curiosity about open-source models and AI infrastructure. You follow model releases and can hold a real conversation with engineers
- Strong prioritization and project management instincts: you know which deal needs you today and you keep the rest alive
- Comfortable selling to founders and technical buyers who expect substance, not a pitch
- Thrives on intensity, ambiguity, and a fast-paced early-stage environment
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)

THE ROLE
This role sits at the frontier of our research agenda. You will pursue open problems at the intersection of post-training methodology and performant inference, and then collaborate with research engineering to translate findings into production systems.
A meaningful portion of your time will be dedicated to research that deepens our understanding of how models learn, alignment, and architectural efficiency — questions that may not have immediate product application. The remainder will be directed toward research that solves concrete problems for Baseten's platform and customers, who are the fastest growing AI companies in the world like Cursor, Lovable, and Notion.
We are looking for someone with sharp research taste and genuine creative instinct for problem selection. Someone who can identify questions that matter, design clean experiments to answer them, and push the state of the art. The environment here is not theoretical, but rather research that can be validated with eager customers who are serving billions of tokens a second.
The Manifesto: https://labs.baseten.co/manifesto
RECENT RESEARCH
- Towards infinite context windows: neural KV cache compaction https://www.baseten.co/research/towards-infinite-context-windows-neural-kv-cache-compaction/
- Dense, on-policy or both? https://www.baseten.co/research/dense-on-policy-or-both/
- Repeated kv cache for long-running agents https://www.baseten.co/research/repeated-kv-cache-for-long-running-agents/
- Distillation without the dark – replicating black-box on-policy distillation on Baseten https://www.baseten.co/research/distillation-without-the-dark/
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and pursue a research agenda spanning both foundational and applied work, with the applied component connected to Baseten's platform and customer needs.
- Design and execute rigorous experiments, frequently at meaningful scale (multi-node, trillion parameter models).
- Work with customers to translate domain-specific requirements into research problems, where relevant to your agenda.
- Publish at top venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR) and establish Baseten's research presence.
- Collaborate with model performance and training infrastructure teams to bridge research findings and inference production systems.
- Mentor junior researchers and shape the technical direction of the research organization as it grows.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or PhD research depth in machine learning, with first-author publications at top venues
- Demonstrated ability to move from theory through implementation to empirical results — not exclusively theoretical or exclusively engineering work
- Judgment about problem selection, the ability to distinguish research that advances a metric from research that changes how systems are built
- Willingness to operate in a startup environment where the majority of research informs product decisions, with timelines measured in months rather than years
- Background spanning multiple research areas (e.g., both interpretability and RL, or both systems and training methodology)
- Track record of open-source contributions or community building in ML research
OUR VIEW ON TALENT
Many of the labs that exist today run a credentialist talent model. Concentrate the most already-legible researchers, and assume the concentration compounds. The best researchers in this field are very often not yet legible. Research engineers who have spent years inside a production stack and developed insights no PhD program teaches; PhDs working on the wrong-shaped problem at the right-shaped lab; operators who have been close to real systems long enough to see things credentialed researchers have never had to see. If you don’t have the traditional qualifications and are doing exceptional work, we’d love to chat.
We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law (by example, the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, where applicable).

We are building AI to simulate the world through merging art and science.
We believe that world models are at the frontier of progress in artificial intelligence. Language models alone won’t solve the world’s hardest problems – robotics, disease, scientific discovery. Real progress requires models that experience the world and learn from their mistakes, the same way that humans do. And this kind of trial and error can be massively accelerated when done in simulation, rather than in the real world.
World models offer the most clear path to general-purpose simulation, changing how stories are told, how scientific progress is made and how the next frontiers of humanity are reached.
Our team consists of creative, open minded, caring and ambitious people who are determined to change the world. We aspire to continuously build impossible things and our ability to do so relies on building an incredible team. If you are driven to do the same, we'd love to hear from you.
ABOUT THE ROLE

FOR YOUR APPLICATION:
During our interview process, you'll have several chances to get acquainted with the Runway product and use all the features our team has built - and that starts now! 1. Screenshot of your completed workflow
2. Brief description (3-4 sentences): What's your creative concept? What does your workflow accomplish? Who would use this?
Note: Free accounts can build workflows but can't run them - that's fine! We want to see your ability to learn the product and think creatively about how customers might use it.
Runway strives to recruit and retain exceptional talent from diverse backgrounds while ensuring pay equity for our team. Our salary ranges are based on competitive market rates for our size, stage and industry, and salary is just one part of the overall compensation package we provide.
There are many factors that go into salary determinations, including relevant experience, skill level and qualifications assessed during the interview process, and maintaining internal equity with peers on the team. The range shared below is a general expectation for the function as posted, but we are also open to considering candidates who may be more or less experienced than outlined in the job description. In this case, we will communicate any updates in the expected salary range.
Lastly, the provided range is the expected salary for candidates in the U.S. Outside of those regions, there may be a change in the range, which again, will be communicated to candidates.

About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About the role
Vercel is hiring a Strategic Cloud Partnerships Lead to own and grow our relationships with the cloud and infrastructure companies that underpin our platform and help us reach enterprise customers.
This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, product, and go-to-market. You will work with Vercel’s Product and Engineering teams to understand how we use our partners’ infrastructure today, identify where deeper technical collaboration could improve our platform or economics, and turn those opportunities into executable partnership strategies. At the same time, you will build joint go-to-market motions that create pipeline, accelerate enterprise deals, and make Vercel more strategic to our partners’ field organizations.
This is a hybrid position, based in San Francisco, with in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
What you'll do
Own a named set of strategic cloud partners end to end, with accountability for the health, growth, and business impact of each relationship
Develop a clear strategy and joint business plan for each partner, covering technical priorities, commercial opportunities, go-to-market motions, investments, and measures of success
Build a detailed understanding of how Vercel uses each partner’s infrastructure today and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, geographic reach, product capabilities, or unit economics
Build the business case for new initiatives: size the opportunity, define the customer value, scope the technical investment, model the economics, and give leadership a clear recommendation
Develop and execute joint go-to-market motions, including co-selling, account mapping, marketplace programs, solution development, field enablement, demand generation, and executive engagement
Lead negotiations involving cloud consumption, commercial commitments, marketplace terms, co-sell investments, product integrations, and joint customer offerings
Lead cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to move initiatives from concept through agreement, launch, and growth
What you need
8+ years of experience in cloud partnerships, strategic alliances, business development, enterprise sales, or a related role at a cloud, infrastructure, developer tools, or platform company
A track record of building and growing strategic relationships with major cloud or infrastructure providers
Strong go-to-market experience, including developing joint value propositions, launching co-sell motions, creating pipeline, and helping close complex enterprise opportunities
Strong technical fluency across modern cloud infrastructure and application delivery. You do not need to be an engineer, but you can understand architectures, ask incisive technical questions, and earn credibility with product and engineering teams
Commercial judgment and experience negotiating complex agreements, including cloud commitments, marketplace terms, co-sell structures, or joint product initiatives
Strong agency and comfort with ambiguity. You identify what matters most, decide where to invest, and can defend the choice
Excellent written and verbal communication with executives, technical leaders, field teams, and customers
