ABOUT THE TEAM
Teams do their best work when they’re aligned, and alignment depends on shared context. Today, the context that matters most to a team is scattered across a dozen tools: tickets in Jira and Linear, specs in Confluence and Google Docs, decisions buried in meeting notes, threads in Slack and Teams. Every new conversation starts with someone hunting it down.
We’re changing that. The Integrated Workflows team is building the layer that brings a team’s real working context into Mural, so people (and the AI working alongside them) can align on shared knowledge and design the workflows they need. When this works, a person opens a canvas and the project, the open work, the last three meetings, and the doc everyone keeps referencing are already there. No team should have to start from a blank canvas. That’s the problem we’re solving, and we’re early enough that the person in this seat will shape how it’s done.
YOUR MISSION
This isn’t connector maintenance. You’ll be defining how an AI-native product reaches into the outside world: what context to pull, how to represent it so models can reason over it, how to respect permissions and privacy across systems that each model them differently, and how to make all of that feel effortless to the end user. Few teams anywhere are working at this intersection of AI, integrations, and collaborative product design.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and build connectors, including MCP-based connectors, that bring context from systems of record, docs and wikis (Confluence, Google Docs, Notion, and others), meeting notes, and communication tools into the Mural canvas
- Shape how that context is modeled, normalized, and made useful to users, so the canvas becomes a live picture of how a team works rather than a snapshot of one meeting
- Bridge product and engineering: translate messy realities (different auth models, data shapes, rate limits, permission systems, partner review processes) into a product experience that just works
- Build the integration platform, the shared frameworks, services, and patterns that let any team at Mural ship connected, context-aware experiences without starting from scratch
- Own the security and trust posture of everything crossing our system boundary, including permissions, data handling, and graceful behavior when an upstream service misbehaves
- Maintain and evolve our public API with the backwards-compatibility discipline a published interface demands
- Lead projects end to end, from research and prototyping through release and iteration, with a bias toward getting value into customers’ hands quickly
- Use AI tools as a core part of how you build, and help the team get better at it
- Mentor colleagues, contribute to technical design, and raise the bar on code quality, testing, and documentation
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- A product mindset: you care about why something is being built and who it’s for, not just how
- 5+ years building and shipping production software at scale, with fluency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js (React and Python are a plus)
- Hands-on experience integrating with third-party APIs and platforms: OAuth and token lifecycle, webhooks, rate limiting and backoff, pagination, versioning, and degrading gracefully when things fail
- Genuine curiosity about AI-driven products and development practices, and a willingness to experiment
- A track record of designing scalable, reliable systems and delivering them iteratively
- Strong communication skills and comfort leading technical discussions and navigating trade-offs
NICE TO HAVE
- Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or interest in learning it
- Experience with the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, Office add-ins) or shipping through a partner marketplace or app review process
- Experience designing or maintaining a public developer API
- Background in high-growth or startup environments
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

ABOUT AVOCA
Avoca is transforming how home service companies engage with their customers. Our AI-powered conversational agents handle every high-value inbound call, from booking jobs, qualifying leads, and driving higher revenue, all at a speed and consistency unmatched by human call centers.
We're a Series B startup backed by Kleiner Perkins, Meritech Capital, General Catalyst, and other top-tier investors, with $125M raised and a $1B valuation. We grew 10x in 2025 and have scaled to 170+ employees in under two years across our NYC headquarters and Santa Barbara office.
In a $1T+ market where 85% of missed calls go to competitors, we're building the category-defining platform for AI-driven customer engagement, serving the largest brands in home services. With high-energy, in-office teams in both locations, every hire here has an immediate and visible impact.
About the Role
We're looking for a software engineer who ships fast without dropping quality. You'll own features end-to-end with support from senior engineers, learn how AI systems behave in production, and see your work reach customers within days rather than quarters. The Bengaluru team is product engineering, so everything you build is customer-facing.
What You'll Do
- Development & Implementation - Build scalable backend services, APIs, and AI-powered features using TypeScript/Node.js, Python, and cloud platforms.
- Collaboration & Learning - Work closely with senior engineers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical and architecture discussions.
- Product Integration - Partner with Product, Design, and Customer Success to translate requirements into robust, customer-facing solutions.
Specifically, you'll:
- Build and ship features end-to-end, from backend services to customer-facing interfaces.
- Work on AI-powered workflows: prompt design, evaluation, and the systems that make LLMs reliable in production.
- Build integrations with CRM systems, scheduling platforms, and third-party communication tools.
- Fix real customer problems, often with a short loop between report and fix going live.
- Write comprehensive tests, add monitoring, and take ownership of what you ship after it ships.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response to ensure system reliability.
- Take loosely defined problems, ask the right questions, and drive them to done with minimal hand-holding.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Hybrid, based in Bengaluru - regular office presence expected for collaboration and team coordination.
- Some overlap with US business hours may be needed for client coordination and project work.
What You'll Bring
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, ideally full-stack, including at least 1 year in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage environment.
- Strong programming skills in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Python, with backend development experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP and modern deployment practices.
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and understanding of service-oriented architectures.
- Comfort working with SQL databases at scale.
- A track record of fast, high-quality execution - you move quickly and your work holds up.
- Self-driven: you unblock yourself, chase down context, and don't need work broken into small pieces.
- Comfort with ambiguity and changing requirements in a fast-moving startup.
- Curiosity about AI and LLMs - direct experience is a plus, appetite to learn is required.
- Low ego, high energy, and a bias toward shipping.
Bonus Points
- Experience with AI/ML technologies, LLMs, or conversational AI systems.
- Background in B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
- Previous startup experience or exposure to rapid scaling.
- Contributions to open source or active developer community participation.
- Experience with real-time systems, or event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with Docker/containerization and orchestration tools.
Why Avoca
- Compensation in line with industry standards and above.
- Direct impact - your code powers thousands of businesses and millions of customer interactions.
- Accelerated learning - work on cutting-edge AI technology with experienced mentors.
- Clear paths for advancement as the company and team scale.
- A fast-moving, collaborative culture built for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and impact.
WHY AVOCA
At Avoca, you’ll be part of a team that’s building a category-defining company at the center of a massive market opportunity. We’re a fast-moving, collaborative team with a culture designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and impact.
Avoca provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are looking for software engineers to help build safety and oversight mechanisms for our AI systems. As a software engineer on the Safeguards team, you will work to monitor models, prevent misuse, and ensure user well-being. This role will focus on building distributed and scalable systems to detect unwanted model behaviors and prevent disallowed use of models. You will apply your technical skills to uphold our principles of safety, transparency, and oversight while enforcing our terms of service and acceptable use policies.
Responsibilities:
Independently scope and lead complex, multi-month infrastructure projects, from an ambiguous starting point through to a production system
Develop monitoring systems to detect unwanted behaviors from our API partners and potentially take automated enforcement actions; surface these in internal dashboards to analysts for manual review
Stand up and run deployments of those monitoring systems across multiple clouds, including inside cloud-provider partner environments where data residency laws apply. Keep the deployments consistent through shared deployment pipelines, smoke tests, observability, and alerting
Design and harden the sandboxed runtime that AI agents execute in: isolation, network egress controls, least-privilege data access, audit logging, and insider-risk controls
Manage cost and capacity for large volumes of long-running agent work, and set and meet service-level objectives for the platform
Partner with the engineers and researchers who write and evaluate the monitoring agents, and with security, privacy, and legal teams, so new detection work can ship quickly on a platform everyone trusts
You may be a good fit if you:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable experience
Proficiency in Python, Distributed Systems, and Infrastructure as Code
Have worked across multiple cloud providers, or built infrastructure designed to be provider-agnostic
Have built and operated large-scale, distributed infrastructure, such as data platforms, control planes, or job schedulers
Have experience with sandboxing and isolation technologies (containers, microVMs, network policy) or with a systems language such as Rust
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong candidates may also:
8+ years of experience in a software engineering position, not including internships
Have built systems that handle sensitive or regulated data, with requirements around access control, auditability, retention, and data residency
Have experience running LLM-based agents in production
Have experience with integrity, spam, fraud, or abuse detection and mitigation
Deadline to apply:
None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$320,000
—
$485,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.
To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit

directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
