ClickHouse is looking for Growth Engineers who are obsessed with both craft UI and agentic experiences. You care about the button, the empty state, and the agent that helps someone get unstuck, and you care equally about whether any of it moved the number.
You’ll join our growth pod to build experimentation infrastructure, onboarding flows, and product surfaces across the self-serve funnel: classic human UI and AI-assisted / agent-driven flows. You’ll work side by side with unified console engineers, but your mandate is speed and impact: ship something testable, measure it, and iterate. You’re motivated by moving a number and learning fast, more than by getting every detail right on the first try.
This is a new role at ClickHouse. You’ll help define what growth engineering looks like here: PLG experimentation that spans human and agentic experiences. You’ll work closely with product, design, and data science on one pod, and partner with unified console and app teams on shared product surfaces.
What you will do:
- Build and ship experiments across the self-serve funnel: signup, onboarding, activation, and monetization flows.
- Design and polish human UI (flows, forms, empty states, navigation, microcopy surfaces) with a high bar for clarity and conversion.
- Design and ship agentic experiences (AI-assisted onboarding, in-product agents, guided workflows) that help users reach value faster.
- Run disciplined experiments on both: hypothesis, instrumentation, ship, learn. Tools like GrowthBook are part of the day-to-day.
- Partner closely with product, design, and data science to go from idea to shipped experiment quickly.
- Work within the Cloud Console codebase alongside unified console engineers, and partner with app teams (including Observability, Agents, and Postgres) on strong end-to-end user flows.
- Obsess over metrics: acquisition, activation, and monetization. You want proof that what you shipped moved the needle.
Requirements:
- Experienced in full-stack product engineering (TypeScript / Node / React), ideally including time on a growth, product, or experimentation-focused team.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React, with real taste for product UI.
- Experience building with LLMs or agent patterns in a product (tool calling, streaming, evals, system/prompt design), or a clear track record of shipping AI features you measured and iterated on.
- Comfortable shipping a smaller, testable version of an idea first, then iterating based on what you learn.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON.
- Experience with experimentation or A/B testing tools (e.g. GrowthBook, Optimizely, LaunchDarkly), or strong interest in building that muscle.
- Proficient with Git and collaborative code review.
- Excellent communication skills. You’ll work daily with PM, design, data science, marketing, and other engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- You’ve shipped both polished UI experiments and agentic / AI-assisted product experiences (not just prototypes), with instrumentation and iteration.
- Experience on a growth or product-led-growth team, ideally at a company with a self-serve funnel.
- Experience with ClickHouse or other data-intensive/analytics products.
- Familiarity with Auth0 or similar auth integrations.
- Experience working closely with (but not necessarily reporting into) a separate platform or infrastructure engineering team.
- You have opinions on what makes great human UX and great agent UX, and you use AI heavily in your own workflow.

This is a remote opportunity within the United States and Canada.
How we’re using AI today
On the Legal team, AI helps us move faster without sacrificing quality. We use it to draft and review commercial agreements, implement negotiation playbooks, and prepare the groundwork for legal review. AI also helps us stay on top of regulatory developments, synthesize research across jurisdictions, and identify risks in novel situations like new product launches or partnership structures. The result is a team that can operate at higher volume with greater consistency, while creating more time for the judgment calls, collaboration, and meaningful decisions that matter most.
What we're looking for:
- Juris Doctor with active bar membership in Canada or the United States and at least 10 years of relevant experience, including time at a nationally recognized law firm and ideally a mix of late-stage private and public company work. Experience in technology or SaaS is preferred.
- Experience leading or supporting mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, negotiations, transaction documentation, and post-closing integration.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance, securities laws, entity management and experience preparing for or managing public company compliance.
- Experience advising on international expansion, including subsidiary formation and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience supporting financing transactions and related securities law compliance.
- Ability to identify legal and business risks, develop practical mitigation strategies, and communicate recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing external counsel and coordinating cross-functional teams on complex legal matters.
- Excellent judgment, written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
- A practical, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach to legal work.
- Ability to manage competing priorities independently while maintaining a high standard of execution.
What you can expect:
- Lead the legal workstreams for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, negotiations, drafting and reviewing transaction documents, and coordinating with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
- Advise on legal considerations and regulatory requirements related to international operations and expansion.
- Oversee corporate entities, corporate records, and related governance processes, including the incorporation and ongoing management of global subsidiaries
- Provide guidance on corporate governance matters, including developing and implementing corporate policies and procedures.
- Support Finance on a variety of matters, including insurance renewals, tax planning, financial statements, employee equity, commission plans, and other strategic projects.
- Review marketing materials and advise on applicable compliance requirements.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees on relevant legal and regulatory topics.
- Identify legal risks across the organization and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters, including overseeing external counsel, developing case strategies, and supporting negotiations.
- Manage 1Password’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
- Serve as a trusted legal partner to leaders across the business, balancing thoughtful risk management with the needs of a fast-moving company.
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $269,000 USD and $404,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first.
You’ll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. That said, 1Password is not for everyone https://blog.1password.com/inside-the-culture-powering-1passwords-next-chapter/. Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We’re looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results.
How we work with AI
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.
This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. To us, this means we do ask that you join live interviews without using AI tools so we can get to know how you communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with others.
Our approach to remote work
We believe in the power of remote work, but recognize that in-person connection is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, travel for in-person engagement is a part of almost all roles, and we require our employees to be ready and willing to take part. Frequency will depend on role and responsibilities, and may include, but is not limited to: annual department-wide offsites, team meetings, and customer/industry events.

Our Story
Founded in 2009, we’re one of the world’s leading game studios, and proud of our extremely international team, consisting of more than 50 different nations. We are part of Playtika and the global leader in the category of Hidden Object Games. With June’s Journey, we’re providing joy for millions of players around the world every day.
How we work
Our aim is to keep doing so for many more years, if not decades. In order to be able to do so, we’ve defined a distinct way of how we’re working at Wooga, so that all relevant aspects intertwine and have a positive impact on the game. No matter if you’re part of a game team or support the success of Wooga as part of a central team, all 250+ employees from around the world can make an impact. We’re proud of the environment we’ve built, and believe you’ll enjoy working with some of the best people in the industry.
Our drivers: Speed, Focus, Ownership, and Impact, guide our working style at Wooga and help us make a deliberate choice to focus on what is important to us, while working towards a shared goal.
These drivers shape how we work together and what we expect from ourselves and our leaders.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior UI/UX professional with deep experience in casual mobile F2P games; someone who understands what makes games intuitive and compelling, and who can translate that understanding into clean, effective design. We're looking for someone who finds as much satisfaction in a polished UI screen as in a well-validated UX flow, and is comfortable owning their work end-to-end.
We’re a small team, and our process moves from quick prototyping through marketing validation to building a vertical slice and, if that succeeds, towards a launch. You'll shape UX early - helping validate that a concept is intuitive, and take on UI design and production as we build toward the various releases, with UX considerations continuing to surface as new features are added.
Please note that this is a 1-year fixed-term contract.
About the job
Design and create UI screens, icons, flows, buttons, and game components for early-stage casual F2P mobile games, staying true to a defined art direction
Maintain and evolve UI style guides and design systems for consistency across screens and features
Own UX for new game prototypes, ensuring mechanics (even reimagined ones) are intuitive and easy to onboard into
Translate game design and monetization requirements into clear, player-friendly interfaces
Collaborate closely with artists, game designers, product managers, and engineers
Work independently to scope, prioritize, and own delivery of work
Report directly to the Creative Director of New Games
About you
Prior experience working with casual mobile games
Strong UI design and execution skills, and sharp UX instincts, with the ability to shift fully into whichever the project phase demands, from concept-stage UX validation to UI production
A solid grasp of onboarding, retention, and monetization-friendly design patterns
2D art skills for UI execution (icons, popups, liveops screens, and supporting visual elements in a defined art style)
A portfolio demonstrating this range across UI production, UX validation, and supporting art
Ability to work autonomously and drive ambiguous problems to resolution, while incorporating feedback from the Creative Director and cross-functional partners
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain decisions clearly to various cross-disciplinary stakeholders
Proficiency with standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Photoshop, or equivalent) as well as Unity for implementation and testing
Comfort working in a small team, prototyping, wearing multiple hats, and shifting between conceptual and hands-on work is essential
Please note: Research has shown that some under-represented groups in the gaming industry (eg: women) tend to apply only if they meet every single requirement. Here at Wooga, the desire to learn and the willingness to solve problems are more important to us than your experience on paper. We encourage you to apply even if you do not think that you tick all the boxes - thinking outside of such boxes and embracing the diversity of mindsets and backgrounds is what we believe makes our teams thrive.
Our Promise
Shape the future! Challenge the status quo and team up with a diverse group of experts (over 50 nationalities!) working on crafting the world’s best games.
We offer a generous relocation package and home search support if you are not already located in Berlin. Did we mention that we also cooperate with Kindergartens?
Make use of a significant education budget and extra days off for self-development. Join our meet-ups, talks, brown bag lunches, internal trainings, workshops and many others.
Enjoy the pilates, mindfulness app, sports and transport subsidies. And a Purpose Day to donate your time to a worthy cause!
Did you know that German is the third most commonly taught language worldwide? Learn it too! We offer German language classes for you and your significant other.
With our hybrid work model you will work in the office with your teams twice a week, to encourage in-person collaboration and team bonding. The other three days you can choose if you want to work from home or from the office. We also offer 10 days a year to work from abroad.
At Wooga we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for everyone who works here or with us, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion (or lack thereof) and game preferences. Be yourself, we like you that way!

ABOUT PEEC AI
Peec AI is the analytics platform for AI search. People increasingly discover products and make buying decisions through ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews instead of traditional search, and most brands have no idea where they show up in those answers. Peec gives marketing, SEO, and growth teams the data to see exactly that: how visible their brand is across AI platforms, how they compare to competitors, and where to win.
We are defining this category, and the market is moving with us. Peec is a Series A company backed by 20VC and Singular, that went from $0 to $15M ARR in 18 months, with a 100+ person team across our Berlin HQ and our New York office.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Customer Success Manager to help our customers succeed in the new era of AI-driven search. In this role, you’ll work closely with leading brands and agencies, onboarding new clients and advising them on how to improve their visibility across search engines, AI assistants, and emerging generative surfaces. You’ll combine deep SEO expertise with a deep consultative approach, analyzing websites and search performance, running strategic advisory sessions, and translating business goals into actionable organic growth strategies. Working closely with Sales, Growth, and Product, you’ll also help shape how we enable customers and define best practices for succeeding in AI-powered search.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Onboard and activate new key clients, and educate them on how to best leverage Peec AI to become top-ranked in AI search
- Review websites, content, and search performance of key clients to identify AI-search-related opportunities across platforms (search, AI assistants, and emerging generative surfaces)
- Run advisory sessions with leading brands and agencies, turning their growth and brand goals into actionable GEO strategies and roadmaps
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Growth, and Product to refine activation journeys, case studies, and customer enablement programs
- Consult our mid-sized and enterprise clients on GEO-related topics, from overall strategy to hands-on operational execution
- Own the growth and retention of your client portfolio, proactively identifying expansion opportunities and partnering with Sales to convert them into upsells
- Monitor account health and usage signals to spot churn risk early, and drive retention through timely, value-focused interventions
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 3–5 years of hands-on SEO or organic growth experience, ideally at a top-tier SEO agency
- Deep understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, search intent, and how organic performance translates into business outcomes
- Strong consulting skills: you’re used to advising clients, presenting strategic recommendations, and constructively challenging their thinking
- Ability to explain SEO concepts in simple, actionable language for marketing and brand teams
- Excitement about the shift from “10 blue links” to generative search, and motivation to be at the frontier of that change
- Confident verbal and written communication skills in English for high-quality client calls, workshops, and written recommendations
BONUS POINTS
- Experience building frameworks: SEO playbooks, content strategies, or measurement models for clients
- Initial experience with AI search
- Background working with enterprise and other high-touch clients
- Experience in a high-growth, venture-backed SaaS or marketing tech environment
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity: everyone at Peec owns a piece of the upside
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Collaborative, high-energy in-office work environment
- Opportunity to make a significant impact and define a new market category

Peec AI is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
COMPENSATION
The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors including the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and location, in accordance with applicable New York law.

ABOUT US
Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Engineer to completely own the UI/UX quality of one of our core D2C subscription products. You are the final person responsible for every UI/UX decision that ships: you self-QA all new UI/UX work against a documented standard before it reaches the Managing Director, and you hold the quality bar for the whole product. Working AI-first, you will also take major features from brief to production: exploring design directions, arguing for the chosen one, building it in Next.js and Tailwind CSS, and shipping polished, mobile-first interfaces.
The work splits into three parts: full responsibility for all UI/UX on the project, hands-on development of design in code, and UI/UX supervision of team members. When another developer does the work, the quality is still yours: you guide them with concrete direction, review the result, and drive the task to the same standard as your own. Seniority here is measured by the quality and depth of your work. The bar is high and so is the upside - performance here is directly and significantly rewarded, and strong operators take on bigger scope fast.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- UI/UX Quality Ownership: Own the UI/UX quality of the entire product. Every interface decision that ships is your responsibility, and its standard is yours to define and hold.
- UI/UX Supervision: Supervise team members' UI/UX work: set direction, review output, advise on solutions, and drive any task to done at your own quality standard.
- Feature Design & Delivery: Own major visual features end to end: brief, design exploration in multiple directions, written rationale, implementation, and final polish.
- Design System & Consistency: Own the design system and its documentation. Keep the product visually and behaviourally consistent across every screen, device, and locale. Document the reasoning behind key decisions: the user need, the pattern or research behind it, and the alternatives considered.
- AI-Native Design Workflow: Work AI-first: run a disciplined AI workflow from generation to production quality, own the team's shared prompting assets, judge critically when output is ready to ship, and keep the team's tooling ahead of the market.
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE
- Quality Ownership: Experience as the final quality owner for a product's UI/UX, with sign-off responsibility for what ships.
- AI-Native Workflow: Hands-on production experience with AI design and code tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or close equivalents) as the core of your daily workflow, including advanced prompting, and current knowledge of the AI-era UI/UX landscape.
- Portfolio: Shipped, live consumer web products with visible craft in the details. Depth of work matters more to us than years of experience.
- Front-End Fundamentals: React/Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript - enough to implement and refine your own designs in production code.
- Design Systems: Experience building or maintaining a design system.
- Supervision: Experience guiding other developers' UI/UX work and driving it to shipped quality.
LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES
- Holds a high bar for visual detail - in their own work and the team's - and catches issues before anyone else does
- Keeps growing - constantly learns and adopts new tools and techniques
- Ambitious - driven to build large-scale products used and seen by millions
- Explains design decisions clearly and in writing, grounded in user needs, patterns, or data
- Communicates clearly and proactively in a fully remote, async environment
Important: This is first and foremost a Product Design / UI/UX role, not a Frontend /Full-stack Engineering role. We are looking for someone with strong product design and UX instincts who can also implement their designs in code. Design thinking, UX quality, and product craft come first; frontend skills are essential for bringing that work to production, but they are not the primary focus of the role.
LIFE AT RUBY LABS

Here, effort is matched with reward. We recognize those who go all in and deliver results, and we create space for people who want more—more responsibility, more growth, and more success.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
As Anthropic's Public Sector Sales Lead for France, you will be the face of Anthropic to the French State. This is a founding, zero-to-one role: there is no public sector team in France today, and you will build our strategy, our routes to market and our first strategic relationships from the ground up. Reporting to our EMEA South leadership, you will lead the adoption of safe, frontier AI across central government, starting with the largest ministries. You will work hand in hand with our Public Policy lead in Paris, because in few companies is policy as central to the mission as it is at Anthropic, and with Partnerships, Legal, Security and Product to put in place the commercial and compliance frameworks the State needs in order to work with us at scale.
This is a senior individual contributor role. We expect you to have run a public sector business and led teams, and to be energised by stepping back into a hands-on seat where you build it yourself and where the size of your team says nothing about the size of your scope. In the first year, success is measured less by a large number and more by putting Anthropic on the map with the French State: a clear strategy, the right foundations and our first strategic agreements.
Responsibilities
Define and own Anthropic's public sector go-to-market strategy for France: where we play first, how we win, and what we need to build to get there
Be the senior face of Anthropic to the French State, building trusted relationships with ministerial cabinets, senior officials and digital and technology leaders across the largest ministries, including defence, finance and justice
Own the full sales cycle on our first strategic public sector opportunities, from first engagement through procurement route, close, deployment and expansion
Work with Partnerships, Legal and Finance to put in place the routes to market the State needs, including resale and partner channels, framework agreements and central purchasing bodies such as UGAP
Partner day to day with our Public Policy lead in France so that commercial and policy engagement reinforce each other, and stay aligned with French and European AI strategy and regulation
Lead the conversation with customers on data sovereignty, security and compliance (for example SecNumCloud and the State's cloud doctrine), and work with Security, Legal and Product on how we meet those requirements
Prove value with customers alongside a shared Applied AI architect, cloud providers and systems integrators, doing much of the groundwork yourself in the early stages
Learn from and contribute to our UK and US public sector teams, bringing what works to France and sharing what you learn
Create the playbooks, references and operating rhythm that will let us scale a public sector team in France over time
You may be a good fit if you have
15+ years in enterprise technology sales, including significant time running a public sector business unit or leading sales teams that sell to French central government
The appetite to move from a leadership role into a hands-on senior individual contributor role with no team at the outset
Evidence that you thrive building from zero: a new market, a new business line or an early-stage company, where systems, processes and support were not yet in place
A track record of landing large, complex and genuinely transformative agreements with major ministries, as the person leading the deal
A deep, senior network across central government, and the credibility to engage at director and cabinet level as well as with technical teams
Practical command of French public procurement, including tenders, framework agreements, central purchasing bodies and partner or resale routes
Real expertise in data sovereignty, security and compliance requirements in the French State, and experience leading those conversations with customers
Experience of, or a clear aptitude for, working closely with public policy or government affairs colleagues
Ownership and resilience: you treat what is missing as something to build, and you bring colleagues with you to build it
The technical curiosity to learn our products in depth and hold credible conversations with both engineering leaders and senior officials
Fluent French and English, with excellent written and spoken communication in both
Willingness to go through French security clearance (habilitation) should specific accounts require it
A genuine commitment to safe and beneficial AI, and the ability to articulate why it matters for public institutions

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT US
Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a disciplined, highly autonomous Middle Next.js Developer to build and ship product features for one of our core D2C subscription products. You will own features end to end across a TypeScript monorepo — a Next.js App Router client, a Fastify + Payload CMS API on PostgreSQL, and Cloudflare Workers at the edge — from the moment you receive a task, through breaking it down, estimating, implementing, testing, and observability, to a clean release to production and confirmation that it works for real users.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited for someone who treats production as the standard, not the finish line. Half-tested code, silent failures, and unverified AI-generated output are not acceptable. The codebase is convention-heavy — a layered Feature-Sliced Design structure with strict import rules — and you are expected to work inside those conventions rather than around them. You are accountable for every task you take on and for every area of the product you touch: if it breaks, regresses, or stays half-finished, that is yours to see through. We expect maximum autonomy and real involvement in the product — you work independently within a sprint, communicate risks before they become blockers, and escalate architectural decisions to senior engineers rather than guessing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FEATURE DEVELOPMENT
- Build features across the Next.js client and the Fastify + Payload CMS backend according to product requirements
- Write code that follows the team's Feature-Sliced Design layering, naming, and import conventions
- Ship changes behind feature flags and A/B experiments, fully localized across every supported locale
- Integrate third-party providers — billing, email/CRM, analytics — over REST APIs and webhooks
QUALITY & RELIABILITY
- Cover functionality with unit, integration, and e2e tests at the level the team expects
- Run a thorough self-review before code review, and review teammates' code with the same rigour
- Fix bugs and perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues
- Optimize page and endpoint performance — rendering and caching strategy, database queries, bundle size
SECURITY & OBSERVABILITY
- Apply secure development practices: schema validation, access control, safe handling of secrets
- Follow observability practices — structured logging, metrics, and alerts — using existing tooling
COLLABORATION
- Break down, estimate, and ship your own tasks to production within the sprint — and stay accountable for them after release
- Own the areas of the product you work in: their stability, performance, and follow-up fixes
- Surface requirement clarifications, estimate changes, and risks early and in writing
- Escalate complex architectural decisions and critical risks to senior engineers
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of commercial React experience, including 1+ year with Next.js (App Router, Server Components, route handlers, rendering and caching strategies) and solid TypeScript
- Node.js backend experience on a typed HTTP framework (Fastify, Nest, or Express) with PostgreSQL — REST API design, schema migrations, integrations over REST and webhooks (signature verification, idempotency, retries) — plus a working understanding of HTTP/REST, auth mechanisms, and web security fundamentals
- Hands-on with the modern client stack: TanStack Query, Zustand, React Hook Form + Zod, Tailwind CSS, and a React component library such as HeroUI, MUI, or shadcn/ui
- Experience with a code-first headless CMS on PostgreSQL (Payload, Strapi, Directus, or equivalent) — collections, access control, generated types, migrations
- Testing and delivery discipline: e2e tests (Cypress or Playwright) and unit/integration tests (Vitest or Jest), Git flow, code review, working with CI
- Daily use of AI development tools (Claude Code or equivalents), including configuring them for a project — context, instructions, rules, MCP/integrations — with full ownership of the quality, security, and correctness of generated code
- English — B1+
LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES
- Owns the outcome — takes a task from requirement to production without waiting to be pushed, and stays accountable for the result and the area it touches
- Maximally autonomous and involved — needs a goal, not step-by-step instructions, and cares how the product performs, not just whether the ticket is closed
- Verifies before trusting — treats AI output, third-party responses, and your own code as unproven until tested
- Structured communicator — surfaces risks, blockers, and estimate changes early, in writing, in a remote team
- Knows the edge of their scope — escalates architectural and security decisions instead of improvising them
- Learns from incidents — fixes the root cause, not just the symptom

Job Description
About the role
Checkout.com http://Checkout.com is looking for an ambitious Staff Data Engineer to join our Data and AI Platform Team. Our team’s mission is to build a platform where you can create reliable, scalable, AI-powered streaming and batch data applications, and share data across Checkout.com http://Checkout.com to improve business performance.
The Data and AI Platform team is here to ensure internal stakeholders can easily collect, store, process and utilise data to build AI use cases and data products aiming to solve business problems. Our focus is on maximising the amount of time engineers spend on solving business problems and minimising time spent on technical details around implementation, deployment, and monitoring of their solutions.
We're building for scale. As such, much of what we design and implement today is the technology/infrastructure which will serve hundreds of teams and petabyte-level volumes of data.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with stream processing technologies (Kafka and Flink) to build a continuously available large-scale event streaming platform
- Leverage subject matter and technical expertise to provide leadership, mentoring, and strategic influence across the organisation whilst building strong relationships with engineers and engineering managers
- Build tooling (modules/SDKs/DSLs) and associated documentation to foster the adoption of the streaming platform by enabling upstream teams and systems to easily publish data and deploy streaming applications
- Implement all the necessary infrastructure to enable end users to build, host, monitor and deploy their own streaming applications
- Provide consultancy across the technology organisation to drive the adoption of the platform and unlock event-driven use-cases
- Participate, translate, run and execute the collection of requirements and architecture/design initiatives into action plans
- Provide hands-on support for all event-based systems including incident triage and root cause analysis
About You
While experience with our specific tech stack is a plus, we welcome candidates with a strong background in data systems who are eager to learn. The core remit of this role is to own and scale our event streaming capability, not to serve as a general DevOps or infrastructure engineer.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with a proven track record of influencing engineering organisations
- Strong engineering background with a track record of implementing and owning event streaming platforms
- Hands-on experience working with stream technologies, ideally Kafka
- Experience designing and implementing stream processing applications with Flink
- Experience working with cloud-based technologies such as AWS (MSK, S3, Lambda, ECS, SNS)
- Experience with Kubernetes (either self-hosted or on the cloud)
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience working with Docker, container deployment and management
- Experience describing infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) as well as designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent programming skills with at least one of Java or Python
