About the job
This position is a critical engineering role within Twilio SendGrid, requiring a hands-on engineer capable of developing, deploying, and managing highly available, massive-scale distributed systems.
Our systems regularly process more than 12 billion emails during peak events like Black Friday, and our throughput requirements continue to scale rapidly. As an L3 engineer, you will act as a key driver of execution within our core services. You will be heavily involved in modernizing our backend systems, optimizing our extensive Go-based microservices, and contributing to the design and reliability of our dual-cloud infrastructure span across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
Responsibilities

BE AN OWNER (INFRASTRUCTURE & OBSERVABILITY):
Manage and enhance cloud configurations across AWS and Azure environments utilizing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Ensure deep observability coverage by standardizing metrics, alerts, and distributed tracing across core data pipelines.
CHAMPION ENGINEERING HEALTH:
Advocate for a clean architectural foundation. Proactively identify technical debt, system bottlenecks, and single points of failure (SPOF), balancing feature delivery with critical platform refactoring.
MENTOR AND LEAD:
Foster a collaborative environment by mentoring junior engineers, leading technical sprint planning, and sharing expertise across distributed engineering nodes.
Qualifications
Twilio values diverse experiences from all kinds of industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!
Required:
Experience:
4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating resilient backend services at scale.
Modern Development Workflow:
Practical experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code) to accelerate code generation, automate testing, and streamline debugging workflows.
Language Proficiency:
Strong, hands-on production experience writing clean, idiomatic, and highly concurrent
Go (Golang), Java or Python
.

core services (such as EC2, S3, Aurora, or DynamoDB) AND
Microsoft Azure
equivalents (such as Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure SQL, or Cosmos DB).
Infrastructure as Code:
Proficiency with
Terraform
for provision-level automation and maintaining environment parity.
Distributed Systems:
Strong theoretical and practical understanding of distributed datastores, caching layers, and asynchronous event streaming (e.g., Kafka or similar queuing ecosystems).
Systems Mindset:
Strong foundational background in computer science fundamentals, data structures, and building self-healing cloud architectures.
Desired:
Prior experience managing high-throughput applications running inside containerized infrastructure (
Docker, Kubernetes
).
Familiarity with database migration pathways (e.g., transitioning traditional on-prem/relational datastores to managed instances like
AWS Aurora

500M+ downloads. 80M+ monthly users. A decade of building – and we’re still accelerating.
Flo is the world’s #1 health & fitness app worldwide on a mission to build a better future for female health. Backed by a $200M investment led by General Atlantic, we became the first product of our kind to reach a $1B valuation in 2024 – and we’re not slowing down.
With 7M paid subscribers and the highest-rated experience in the App Store’s health category, we’ve spent 10 years earning trust at scale. Now, we’re building the next generation of digital health – AI-powered, privacy-first, clinically backed – to help our users know their body better.
The job
We’re looking for a
Senior Frontend Engineer
to help us build the next generation of Flo’s platform and user experiences.
You’ll work on the foundation that powers interactive surveys and dynamic content inside the Flo app — building SDKs, reusable components, and internal tooling that enable other product teams to deliver exceptional experiences quickly and reliably.
Our frontend stack is based on
React
,
TypeScript
, and
Next.js
, with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and testing.
We care deeply about quality: we use TypeScript for type safety, Jest and Playwright for automated testing, and continuously evolve our design system and UI Kit.
What you'll be doing:
Design, build, and maintain high-quality user-facing components and platform SDKs that enable survey and interactive experiences in the Flo ecosystem.
Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver flexible and scalable solutions.
Contribute to Flo’s design system and shared UI libraries, ensuring consistency and reusability across products.
Refactor and improve existing codebases for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Write clean, modular, well-documented code and advocate for engineering best practices.
Actively participate in the frontend community at Flo, sharing ideas and driving improvements in architecture and development processes.
Your Experience
Must have:
7+ years of experience building, shipping, and maintaining modern web applications.
Expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
Deep experience with React and modern frontend tooling.
Solid grasp of object-oriented design patterns and the ability to write efficient, well-structured algorithms
You must use AI coding agents as your default way of working — writing code manually is the exception, not the rule.
Proven ability to create adaptive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces.
A product mindset and strong collaboration skills — you care about how your work impacts the user.
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Next.js, Contentful, or similar frameworks and CMS solutions.
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
Understanding of analytics and BI integrations.
Salary Range - gross per month (ranges may vary based on skills and experience)
€5.900

€8.300 EUR
How we work
We’re a mission-led, product-driven team. We move fast, stay focused and take ownership – from brief to build to impact. Debate is encouraged. Decisions are shared. We care about craft, ship with purpose, and always raise the bar.
You’ll be working with people who take their work seriously, not themselves. It takes commitment, resilience, and the drive to keep going when things get tough. Because better health outcomes are worth it.
What you'll get
We support impact with meaningful reward. Here’s what that looks like:
Competitive salary and annual reviews
Opportunity to participate in Flo’s performance incentive scheme
Paid holiday, sick leave, and female health leave
Enhanced parental leave and pay for maternity, paternity, same-sex and adoptive parents
Accelerated professional growth through world-changing work and learning support
In-person collaboration and work in a hybrid model, with 3 days per week spent in the office
5-week fully paid sabbatical at 5-year Floversary
Flo Premium for friends & family, plus more health, pension and wellbeing perks
Diversity, equity and inclusion

ABOUT SUPABASE
Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for Engineering Managers to lead engineering teams across Supabase. Teams range from developer-facing surfaces, core backend services, Platform, EngOps, and Databases.
This is a single pipeline for engineering management. As we get to know your background, we'll match you to the team where your experience and interests overlap most strongly. The Engineering Manager is a people, delivery, and technical role. Although we don’t expect managers to contribute to code directly, we do expect you to participate in design discussions and to be involved in setting the bar for engineering quality and best practices.
This is a new role at Supabase. We've historically optimised for technical excellence on every axis, including leadership. As our engineering org grows, people leadership has become just as critical, and the Engineering Manager role exists to reflect that. You'll be shaping what this role looks like from day one.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Team & People
- Build a healthy, high-trust team culture in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.
- Run 1:1s, performance management, career development, and onboarding for your direct reports.
- Handle people admin (leave, time off, etc.) for your team.
Hiring
- Own the hiring plan for your team and act as Hiring Manager. First round of interviewer for all roles on the team.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to source, interview, and close strong candidates.
- Contribute to headcount planning, org design, and the evolution of engineering leadership at Supabase.
Delivery & Roadmap
- Own the team's roadmap and project management (Linear), driving accountability and clear milestones.
- Manage workflow intake and Slack triage. These are the team’s primary inboxes for cross-team requests. You decide what gets routed where, prioritized, or pushed back on.
- Own the team's weekly updates and keep stakeholders aligned without creating overhead.
- Organize effort against support tickets and maintain the team's SLO.
- Surface risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs early and clearly to leadership.
Incident Commander
- Train as an Incident Commander. Drive coordination, resolution, and post-incident follow-up.
- Lead blameless post-incident reviews
YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Have 5+ years of engineering background, with enough depth to be credible with engineers building complex systems.
- Have 3+ years managing remote engineering teams.
- Have managed engineering teams at a cloud, SaaS, or developer tools company. Experience with developer tools or databases is a strong preference, but we'll consider any sufficiently technical background where you can demonstrate the ability to ramp on a new domain.
- Have managed remote, globally distributed teams that work asynchronously across disparate time zones.
- Are technical enough to be credible with strong engineers, but genuinely passionate about people management. This is the work you want to do, not a track you're settling for.
- Build psychological safety and a feedback culture: you give feedback often and in the moment, ask for it back, and create space for the team to do the same.
- Operate as a multiplier. Focused on helping individuals achieve more than they could alone, not on being the best technical voice in the room.
- Coach rather than direct. Remove blockers, connect people to context and resources, and trust your engineers to own how the work gets done.
- Have a real track record of performance management and can speak to specific examples of difficult conversations and how you navigated them.
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and capable of building structure where there isn't much.
- Communicate clearly and write well. You're default async, default written, set context proactively, and surface risks early.
- Are collaborative, low-ego, and adaptable. You thrive working with high-autonomy, senior ICs who have strong technical opinions and don't need to be the smartest person in the room.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully Remote
We hire globally. We believe you can do your best work from anywhere. There are no Supabase offices, but we provide a WeWork membership or co-working allowance you can use anywhere in the world.
- ESOP
Every team member receives ESOP (equity ownership) in the company. We want everyone to share in the upside of what we’re building together.
- Tech Allowance
Use this budget to set up your ideal work environment—laptop, monitor, headphones, or whatever helps you do your best work.
- Health Benefits
Supabase covers 100% of health insurance for employees and 80% for dependents, wherever you are. Your wellbeing and your family’s health are important to us.
- Annual Off-Sites
Once a year, the entire company gathers in a new city for a week of connection, collaboration, and fun. It’s a highlight of our year.
- Flexible Work
We operate asynchronously and trust you to manage your own time. You know what needs to be done and when.
- Professional Development
Every team member receives an annual education allowance to spend on learning—courses, books, conferences, or anything that supports your growth.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Supabase was born-remote and open-source-first. We believe our globally distributed team is our secret weapon in building tools developers love.
- ~400 team members
- 60+ countries
- 20+ languages spoken
- Over $1B raised (including our $500M Series F)
- 540,000+ community members
We move fast, build in public, and use what we ship. If it’s in your project, we probably use it in ours too. We believe deeply in the open-source ecosystem and strive to support—not replace—existing tools and communities.
