Location: Remote - Canada What We’re Building Honeycomb is a service for the near and present future, defining observability and raising expectations of what developer tools can do! We’re working with well known companies like HelloFresh, Slack, LaunchDarkly, and Vanguard and more across a range of industries. This is an exciting time in our trajectory, we’ve closed Series D funding, scaled past the 200-person mark, and were named to Forbes’ America’s Best Startups of 2022 and 2023! If you want to see what we’ve been up to, please check out these blog posts and Honeycomb.io press releases . Who We Are We come for the impact, and stay for the culture! We’re a talented, opinionated, passionate, fiercely inclusive, and responsible group of bees. We have conviction and we strive to live our values every day. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers. How We Work We are a fully distributed company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote Little more about the team: The team builds observability for AI in Honeycomb. We help customers see what their agents are doing, what those agents cost, and where errors happen. We also give them insight into individual conversations so they can debug them. We're bringing LLM and agent observability together, and we own both the data foundation and the product experiences built on top of it. You'll work in a small, cross-functional group of engineers with a dedicated product manager and designer, shipping features customers use in production. If you want to define how people understand and debug AI systems, this is the team for you. What you’ll do in the role: Deliver AI observability capabilities end to end, from ingestion to in-product visualizations. Contribute to the data model and infrastructure that let us observe agents and their ecosystems across the Honeycomb product. Build systems that analyze and surface AI-specific signals, such as cost, token usage, errors, and anomalies. Collaborate with product and design partners to make sure what we build is usable, intuitive, and unlocks meaningful user workflows. Share what you learn about exploring and understanding AI system behavior across conversations and workloads. Iterate through fast feedback loops and experimentation, and share both wins and failures. What you’ll bring to the role: 3+ years of software engineering experience. Experience shipping customer-facing features at a SaaS company, beyond internal tooling. Full-stack range, with proficiency in backend development (Go and/or Python) and frontend development (TypeScript and React). A track record of working with product managers and designers. Regular, hands-on use of AI tools in your day-to-day engineering work. Experience being on call. You'd join our rotation after about 90 days. A track record of navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving field where requirements shift and experimentation is a core part of the job. Bonus: Experience building LLM or agent-powered features in production. Bonus: Hands-on experience with observability tooling, such as OpenTelemetry. Base Salary based on level of experience $218,891 — $245,946 CAD What you'll get when you join the Hive: A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience Time to recharge with unlimited PTO A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!) How We Work We are a fully distributed company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote About the problem space AI has changed what's possible in go-to-market, support, and business operations. The constraint is no longer "can we build it" — it's "can we deploy it into a real workflow, prove it made things better, and keep it working." Most companies are stuck at the demo stage: a lot of clever prompting, very little that runs reliably on Tuesday morning without someone watching it. This role exists to get us past that, everywhere outside of engineering. Little more about the team: You'll sit on the Data team, which is where this work belongs. Our team already operates at the seam between the business and its systems — we partner daily with RevOps, Customer Success, Sales, and Product, and we own the data infrastructure these workflows depend on. AI-in-the-business is a data problem with a model attached, and you'll have the pipelines, the warehouse, and the domain relationships already in place. What you'll do You are a senior individual contributor. Your job is to take business workflows that are slow, manual, or inconsistent, and make them fast, automated, and measurably better — then do it again, and leave behind enough shared scaffolding that the third one is easier than the first. Ship automated workflows end to end Partner with department leaders to identify the highest-leverage workflows in their orgs, and go deep enough on how the work actually happens to know where a model helps and where it doesn't. Define success before you build: cycle time, quality, cost, risk. Instrument it. Report on it honestly, including when the answer is "this didn't work." Deliver working systems, not prototypes, with evaluation harnesses, human-in-the-loop review where the stakes call for it, and ongoing monitoring. Iterate on adoption the way a product manager would: user research, documentation, and a real plan for getting people to use the thing. Build the shared substrate as you go Establish patterns for model access, orchestration and agents, prompt and tool management, evaluation, logging, and cost control — derived from what real workflows needed, not designed in advance. Build on the Data team's existing infrastructure rather than standing up parallel systems. Co-own shared components with your counterpart in Engineering; identify dependencies early and bring them into partner roadmaps collaboratively. Make the company fluent Create templates, playbooks, and golden paths: prompt patterns, agent patterns, safety checklists, evaluation patterns. Run office hours, demos, and community-of-practice sessions that make adoption feel accessible rather than intimidating. Develop enablement material for distinct audiences — GTM, operations, leadership — from fundamentals through advanced workflows. Help people build judgment about AI: when to use it, when not to, and how to tell whether it worked. Keep it safe and governable Partner with Security, IT, and Legal on access control, data handling, vendor risk, and policy — so that employees have a clear, fast, safe path to experiment. Work with the Data team to apply our data classification standards to AI use cases: what data can be used for retrieval and context, and what audit trails are required when sensitive data flows through LLM pipelines. What you'll bring Deep experience shipping systems into real business workflows — you've owned something end to end, in production, that non-technical people depended on daily. Hands-on fluency with modern AI stacks: LLMs, retrieval, tool use and agents, evaluation, guardrails — plus the pragmatism to keep things shippable. The ability to learn someone else's job well enough to improve it. This role lives or dies on understanding how support, sales, or finance actually work. A track record of leading cross-functional initiatives without formal authority, bringing clarity, momentum, and crisp decision-making. Comfort navigating security, privacy, and compliance tradeoffs in real organizations: data classification, retention, access controls, vendor risk. Strong teaching instincts — you explain complex things simply, write clear docs, and meet people where they are. Demonstrated ability to stay current as the landscape shifts, and to change your mind in public when the evidence does. Nice to have SQL fluency and comfort in a modern data stack (dbt, a cloud warehouse, BI tooling). Experience with workflow automation or enterprise systems: case management, ticketing, CRM, knowledge bases. Familiarity with observability practices for AI systems: monitoring, quality signals, evaluation pipelines, cost and latency analysis. Change management experience across a distributed, multi-function company. Interest in external evangelism — writing, speaking, podcasts, peer groups. Base Salary based on level of experience $310,000 — $360,000 CAD What you'll get when you join the Hive: A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience Time to recharge with unlimited PTO A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!) Our team already operates at the seam between the business and its systems — we partner daily with RevOps, Customer Success, Sales, and Product, and we own the data infrastructure these workflows depend on. Base Salary based on level of experience $225,000 — $265,000 USD What you'll get when you join the Hive: A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience Time to recharge with unlimited PTO A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!) Home office, co-working, and internet stipend Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood Annual development allowance And much more... Please note we cannot currently sponsor or support visa transfers at this time. Additionally, in compliance with applicable law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work. Phishing and Recruitment Scam Warning: We take your security seriously. #LI-Remote Little more about the team: Honeycomb is an observability platform that helps engineering teams understand how their software behaves in production. Our Tenant team is behind Honeycomb Private Cloud, a brand new product that allows customers to have their own Honeycomb instance. What you'll do Own delivery of Honeycomb Private Cloud — the infrastructure, tooling, and operational processes that let enterprise customers run Honeycomb inside their own cloud environment. Grow the product — we anticipate significant growth in the next year; help us meet sales goals and build relationships to support it. Work at the customer boundary — partner with Field Engineering, Support, and Sales on PoCs, security reviews, access negotiations, and contract asks, and help the team know when to take feedback and when to help us show the customer what good looks like. Lead across the org — Private Cloud depends on many engineering teams across the org. We maintain a tight drift between SaaS and Private Cloud, and this role will need to be able to understand and prioritize work that touches all parts of our engineering org. Feedback loops for developers. We learn a lot about Honeycomb as a product while building Honeycomb. Ensure that we push Private-Cloud-inspired tooling back into our SaaS infrastructure so each side continues to make the other better. Build the team — grow and develop a small, tenured, senior, very high-context team; remove the single points of failure that come with that; hire and onboard the next engineers to scale the team as the product offering scales. What we're looking for 3+ years as an Engineering manager for a highly technical, senior team. You have a solid track record as an engineer, influencing without authority, and leaving things better than you found them. You've managed or led a team that carried a real production on-call rotation, and you treat operational health as a core requirement. Experience shipping and operating software in environments you don't fully control — on-prem, private cloud, BYOC, or managed single-tenant. You know what version skew, partial telemetry, and customer security constraints do to a roadmap. Enough Kubernetes and AWS fluency to review a design, ask the challenging questions, and be useful in an incident review. You don't need to be the person writing the Terraform. Comfort being customer-facing with enterprise buyers: security questionnaires, access models, procurement, escalations. Ruthless prioritization on a small team with an enormous surface area — you can name what you decided not to do, and why. Hiring and onboarding engineers into a domain with a steep ramp. Comfort with AI tooling, and a point of view on where it helps and where it doesn't. Comfort being an escalation point for engineering emergencies as part of the Foundation leadership team Bonus points Familiarity with observability / OpenTelemetry (Honeycomb's domain). You're still hands-on and enjoy contributing to and reviewing code (welcome, but it won't be your primary role here). Background in Go, Terraform, Kafka, and large-scale data infrastructure. FedRAMP, GovCloud, or regulated-industry compliance experience. A field-adjacent past — solutions architecture, consulting, or deployment engineering. Base Salary based on level of experience $285,000 — $320,000 CAD What you'll get when you join the Hive: A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience Time to recharge with unlimited PTO A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!) Demonstrated experience acting as a senior escalation point, local IT owner, team lead, or equivalent role with responsibility beyond individual ticket resolution. Proven ability to deliver white-glove support to executives and responsive support to business-critical users in fast-paced environments. Strong working knowledge of both macOS and Windows operating systems at an administrative level, with hands-on experience supporting iOS/mobile devices. Location: Canada Workplace: remote About Xsolla Xsolla is a global commerce company with robust tools and services to help developers solve the inherent challenges of the video game industry. From indie to AAA, companies partner with Xsolla to help them fund, distribute, market, and monetize their games. Grounded in the belief in the future of video games, Xsolla is resolute in the mission to bring opportunities together, and continually make new resources available to creators. Headquartered and incorporated in Los Angeles, California, Xsolla operates as the merchant of record and has helped over 1,500+ game developers to reach more players and grow their businesses around the world. With more paths to profits and ways to win, developers have all the things needed to enjoy the game. For more information, visit xsolla.com. About the Role We're looking for a Staff Engineer to own the smart wallet and account abstraction layer of Xsolla's Web3 platform. This is an individual contributor role with outsized technical scope: you'll be the technical anchor for how millions of players get an on-chain account they never have to think about — setting direction, making hard architectural calls, and raising the bar across the org. Concretely, you'll own the account model behind Xsolla ZK, our zkSync-based L2, and the wallet that sits inside Xsolla App. Every player who signs in with Xsolla ID receives a deterministic, non-custodial smart account — derived from their identity claim, identical on every device, with private keys that never leave the client. That account is not a separate "wallet" screen: it is the player's inventory, and it backs minting, gifting, trading on our Bazaar marketplace, Merkle-based reward airdrops, gas sponsorship, and an in-app dApp browser that exposes the same signer to third-party applications through an EIP-1193 provider. You'll own the primitives underneath all of it: the ERC-4337 user operation lifecycle, EIP-7702 delegation, session keys and origin-bound Smart Sessions, paymaster and gas abstraction strategy, and the custody and recovery roadmap — including the move from raw key export to MPC custody. You will own the strategy behind account abstraction, signing, and session management at scale, and evolve our smart account and permissioning model to meet both product and compliance needs. You operate with significant autonomy, but your decisions ripple across teams — so you'll spend real time building buy-in with engineering, product, security, and legal stakeholders, not just designing in isolation. You are technically deep, calm under pressure, and comfortable being the escalation point when production wallet issues get hard — because in this domain, "hard" means a stuck user operation, a drained paymaster, or a signing prompt a player didn't understand. You write the RFCs and design docs that people actually read, and you create leverage for the broader engineering org through documentation, tooling, and mentorship — without needing a management title to do it. Responsibilities Own Smart Wallet & AA Architecture — Own the technical strategy and architecture of our smart wallet platform, covering the account model, signing, session management, and gas abstraction at scale. Design the Account & Signing Model — Design and evolve our ERC-4337 user operation lifecycle (prepare → sign → submit → confirm), EIP-7702 delegation, deterministic address derivation from identity, and the session-key and permission primitives that let players act without a prompt on every transaction. Own Gas Abstraction — Set the paymaster and gas-sponsorship strategy: what we sponsor, how we meter and cap it, how we defend it from abuse, and how it degrades when sponsorship is unavailable. Harden the dApp-Facing Surface — Own the security model where our signer meets third-party applications: EIP-1193 / EIP-6963 provider behavior, origin-bound and policy-versioned sessions, trust tiers, and the transaction and signature confirmation flow. Define what a player is actually approving, and make sure the UI can prove it. Drive Custody & Recovery — Lead the custody roadmap from today's interim mechanisms toward MPC-based custody, and design recovery paths (passkeys, guardians, social recovery) that a non-crypto-native player can complete without losing assets. Drive Cross-Team Technical Decisions — Drive decisions on account architecture, SDK contracts, data modeling, and platform reliability, and build buy-in across the wallet, marketplace, SDK, mobile, and security teams. De-Risk Proactively — Identify systemic risks — key management, signature phishing, reorgs and indexer staleness, bundler and RPC dependencies, contract upgrade paths — and lead initiatives to resolve them before they become incidents. Set Engineering Standards — Define engineering standards, review critical code, contracts, and designs, and create leverage for the team through documentation, tooling, and mentorship. Align with Stakeholders — Collaborate with product, security, legal, and infra teams to align on roadmap and translate business and regulatory needs into well-scoped technical plans. Own Production Escalations — Serve as the go-to escalation point for complex production issues in the wallet and account abstraction domain. What You Bring Account Abstraction & Smart Wallets ERC-4337 Depth — Deep, hands-on understanding of ERC-4337: EntryPoint (v0.6 through v0.8), the UserOperation lifecycle, bundler and paymaster roles, validation rules (ERC-7562), gas estimation and its failure modes, counterfactual deployment, and signature validation for undeployed accounts (ERC-6492). Strong written communication is essential — your architectural decisions and designs need to stand on their own and be actionable without you in the room. We value directness, technical depth, and follow-through. In this domain that means saying plainly when a design has custody, security, or reversibility implications, defending your position with evidence, and staying engaged until it's resolved. Where a decision touches player funds or key material, we expect the conservative call to be argued for explicitly rather than assumed. Benefits We are passionate about fostering a supportive environment for our team, so we prioritize the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our employees and their families through a comprehensive Benefits Program. This includes medical, dental, and vision, PTO, and a personalized career roadmap for each employee. By investing in professional development through training and educational opportunities, we ensure that our team thrives both personally and professionally. Together, we’re not just building a business; we’re cultivating a community that values creativity, collaboration, and the transformative power of play.

#LI-Remote Little more about the team: The Storage Team at Honeycomb is the backbone of our platform, responsible for the performance, reliability, and scalability of storing and querying billions of events. We design and own the architecture that powers correct and dependable query results — enabling every product experience from Metrics to Triggers and SLOs. As a senior engineer on Storage, you’ll work on high-impact systems where our customers may never see your code directly, but they’ll rely on it every time they use Honeycomb. What you’ll do in the role: Build and deliver high-quality solutions. You will design and implement solutions that power Honeycomb’s query and data storage infrastructure. Whether it’s improving query performance, evolving the Retriever service, or making our storage layer more reliable, you’re eager to jump in and add value where the team needs it most. Much of our work is behind the scenes, but it enables every Honeycomb product experience, from Metrics to Triggers and SLOs. Support our services in production. We believe in owning the software we build. Every engineer on Storage participates in on-call rotations, helps define team KPIs and SLOs, and proactively reduces toil by addressing reliability challenges before they reach customers. Learn new ways to solve complex problems. As Honeycomb grows, so do the challenges of scaling our systems. You will explore new technologies, data storage techniques, and query optimization strategies to keep performance and reliability strong at scale. Thrive on collaboration. You enjoy pairing, reviewing code, and offering constructive feedback. You model strong ownership and help your teammates grow, while keeping conversations forward-looking and focused on business value. What you’ll bring to the role: Technical leadership in storage and querying. You’ve led the design of patterns and guidelines that improve performance and reliability, and you bring expertise in writing Go along with experience working on high-throughput or complex systems. Prior experience with database engineering is a plus, as is comfort with Kubernetes. Curiosity and experimentation. You learn by digging in — individually, in pairs, or as a team. You ask questions to better understand complex systems, explore trade-offs, and believe in learning from incidents as a way to improve both technology and practices. Focus on business outcomes. You tie technical decisions to customer and company impact, weighing whether work is necessary now or later, and considering how projects affect the broader business. Strength in mentorship and teamwork. You guide engineers through code reviews and help spread knowledge across a team with diverse skillsets so that ownership of critical paths is shared, not siloed. Resilience in collaboration. You thrive in a senior-heavy team, giving and receiving feedback with grace, and contributing to a culture where tough problems and hard conversations lead to better outcomes. Execution with impact. You can scope and deliver complex, multi-team projects while balancing production realities, proactively reducing toil, and ensuring systems deliver measurable customer value. Deep debugging expertise. You’re trusted to diagnose and resolve the toughest production issues across the stack, restoring reliability where others may be stuck. Influence beyond your team. Location: United States, San Mateo, CA Why Sony Interactive Entertainment? Sony Interactive Entertainment isn’t just the Best Place to Play — it’s also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we’re part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting-edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity. PlayStation Studios has created some of the most loved worlds, characters, and stories in entertainment. Our opportunity now is to build those IP with greater intention — growing audiences, deepening fandom, and creating more ways for people to engage with PlayStation franchises beyond the release of a game. We are looking for a Lead Franchise Strategist to help shape that work. This is not an integrated marketing role, a licensing or consumer products role, or a role focused on extending a launch campaign. We are looking for someone who understands how entertainment franchises are built over time — across audiences, stories, formats, products, experiences, and partners. Gaming experience is valuable but not required. Experience in film, television, animation, publishing, consumer products, licensing, live experiences, or location-based entertainment may be just as relevant. What matters most is that this person has helped build something. They can look at an IP, understand what makes it special, identify where the strongest audience and commercial opportunities exist, and turn that into a clear and credible plan for growth. This role will work across PlayStation Studios, Portfolio Strategy, PlayStation Productions, brand, marketing, insights, finance, consumer products, licensing, legal, and Sony Group partners — connecting creative ambition, audience demand, and commercial opportunity while protecting what fans already love. Key Responsibilities Lead franchise strategy work for assigned priority PlayStation IP, from initial opportunity assessment through long-term planning and cross-functional alignment Develop franchise strategies that define audience opportunity, positioning, expansion potential, commercial rationale, and priorities for growth Proactively identify new ways priority IP could grow, including opportunities that may sit outside PlayStation’s existing franchise playbook Identify where each franchise has the strongest potential across film, television, animation, publishing, consumer products, music, live and location-based experiences, partnerships, and digital/community engagement Help define what each franchise should become over time — and just as importantly, where it should not go Use audience research, fandom insights, market trends, competitive benchmarks, and commercial data to make clear recommendations to leadership and cross-functional partners Translate franchise ambition into practical roadmaps, sequencing, decision frameworks, and execution priorities Support the development of franchise bibles, IP briefs, creative guardrails, and other tools that enable partners to build from a shared understanding of the IP Partner with finance and business teams to understand and articulate the value of franchise activity across games and adjacent businesses Help evolve PlayStation’s approach to long-term franchise planning, bringing greater consistency and rigor to how opportunities are identified, evaluated, and prioritized Champion the fan perspective — understanding what audiences love, where they want more, what will feel authentic, and where expansion could damage trust What We’re Looking For Strong experience in franchise strategy, IP development, entertainment strategy, brand expansion, audience growth, or a related field, with a track record of independently leading complex strategic work A track record of helping build, shape, expand, or revitalize entertainment IP, ideally across multiple formats or business areas Strong understanding of fandom — how audiences discover, engage with, spend around, advocate for, and stay connected to IP over time Experience working across creative and commercial disciplines, including areas such as production, research, finance, marketing, licensing, consumer products, and external partnerships Ability to synthesize complex creative, audience, and commercial information into clear recommendations, influence senior stakeholders, and build alignment around a direction Strong creative taste and commercial judgment — someone who can see both the magic of an IP and the business around it Experience with areas such as franchise architecture, audience segmentation, IP positioning, content roadmaps, commercial planning, or long-range portfolio strategy Comfort operating in ambiguity and creating structure around IP that may not yet have a fully formed franchise ecosystem Ability to challenge assumptions constructively and make thoughtful calls about what is worth doing, what should wait, and what should not happen at all A practical, collaborative approach and the ability to influence across teams without always owning final execution Experience with global entertainment brands or IP with multi-market potential is a plus The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a builder, not a caretaker. They may have worked on established IP or helped build something from an earlier stage, but they are most energized by the question of what comes next. They can look at a game world, character, story, or fanbase and see the broader franchise potential — not as a list of extensions, but as a connected system of creative expansion, audience growth, and long-term value. They are equally comfortable talking about story, fandom, audience behavior, commercial models, and execution realities. They know that not every IP should become everything. They have the discipline to prioritize, the taste to protect what matters, and the strategic instincts to spot where PlayStation can create something fans will genuinely care about. Success in This Role Looks Like The priority PlayStation IP they support have clear, actionable long-term franchise strategies Teams across PlayStation and Sony have a shared understanding of where those franchises can grow, where they should not, and why New opportunities are identified proactively and evaluated earlier and more consistently, with strong audience, creative, and commercial rationale Fans have meaningful ways to stay connected with PlayStation worlds between major game releases The role contributes to a more coordinated and repeatable approach to building PlayStation franchises for the long term #LI-AM1 Avoid Recruitment Scams/Phishing Attempts: Please be aware that any official outreach in response to your application will always be done from a @sony.com email address . Always make sure to double check the spelling on Sony is correct and the characters have not been replaced with any numbers/symbols before replying. Anyone using an email that is not @sony.com is not affiliated with us and should be reported either via the platform they are contacting you on or directly to your email service as a phishing attempt/scam. At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. This role also may be eligible for a bonus package. Click here to learn more. The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below. $155,800 — $233,600 USD Please note, Sony Interactive Entertainment conducts background checks at the offer stage for all new employees (which may include criminal background checks for some roles) and will need to process personal information to support these checks. Please refer to our Candidate Privacy Notice for more information about what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your data protection rights. Equal Opportunity Statement: Sony is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All persons will receive consideration for employment without regard to gender (including gender identity, gender expression and gender reassignment), race (including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin), religion or belief, marital or civil partnership status, disability, age, sexual orientation, pregnancy, maternity or parental status, trade union membership or membership in any other legally protected category. We strive to create an inclusive environment, empower employees and embrace diversity. We encourage everyone to respond. Sony Interactive Entertainment is a Fair Chance employer and qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.

About the Role We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the smart wallet and account abstraction layer of XsollaZK, Xsolla's Web3 platform on a zkSync-based L2. This is an individual contributor role with a large technical scope. You are the technical anchor for how millions of players get an on-chain account they never have to think about. The product. Every player who signs in with Xsolla ID receives a deterministic, non-custodial smart account. The account is derived from their identity claim, is identical on every device, and its private keys never leave the client. It is not a separate wallet screen: it is the player's inventory. It backs: minting and gifting; trading on our Bazaar marketplace; Merkle-based reward airdrops; gas sponsorship; an in-app dApp browser that exposes the same signer to third-party applications through an EIP-1193 provider. Responsibilities The technical strategy and architecture of the smart wallet platform: account model, signing, session management and gas abstraction at scale The smart account and permissioning model, evolved to meet both product and compliance needs The security model where our signer meets third-party applications: what a player is actually approving, and proof that the UI shows it The custody and recovery roadmap, from today's interim mechanisms (including raw key export) to MPC -based custody Cross-team technical decisions on account architecture, SDK contracts, data modeling and platform reliability, with buy-in from the wallet, marketplace, SDK, mobile and security teams Engineering standards in the Web3 domain Production escalations in the wallet and account abstraction domain WHAT YOU WILL DO Design and evolve the ERC -4337 user operation lifecycle (prepare → sign → submit → confirm), EIP -7702 delegation, deterministic address derivation from identity, and the session-key and permission primitives (including origin-bound Smart Sessions) that let players act without a prompt on every transaction Set the paymaster and gas-sponsorship strategy: what we sponsor, how we meter and cap it, how we defend it from abuse, and how it degrades when sponsorship is unavailable Define EIP -1193 / EIP -6963 provider behavior, origin-bound and policy-versioned sessions, trust tiers, and the transaction and signature confirmation flow Design recovery paths (passkeys, guardians, social recovery) that a non-crypto-native player can complete without losing assets Identify systemic risks (key management, signature phishing, reorgs and indexer staleness, bundler and RPC dependencies, contract upgrade paths) and lead initiatives that resolve them before they become incidents Write RFCs and design docs; review critical code, contracts and designs Work with product, security, legal and infra teams to align on the roadmap and turn business and regulatory needs into well-scoped technical plans Create leverage for the engineering org through documentation, tooling and mentorship Serve as the escalation point for complex production issues: a stuck user operation, a drained paymaster, a signing prompt a player didn't understand Set up and maintain AI tooling in the repositories (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor: rules, context, harness) so the team uses it effectively REQUIRED Experience 8+ years of engineering in the Ethereum ecosystem working with crypto wallets and smart wallets Designing or operating a production smart wallet or account abstraction system serving real users and real value Shipping and operating systems where a bug meant lost funds. You can talk concretely about the guardrails, reviews and rollback paths you put in place Account abstraction and smart wallets ERC -4337 in depth: EntryPoint (v0.6 through v0.8), the UserOperation lifecycle, bundler and paymaster roles, validation rules ( ERC -7562), gas estimation and its failure modes, counterfactual deployment, signature validation for undeployed accounts ( ERC -6492) EIP -7702 and the post-Pectra landscape: EOA delegation, its interaction with EntryPoint v0.8, and the risks it introduces (residual key authority, delegation phishing, storage collisions) Building on or extending production smart account implementations; modular account standards ( ERC -7579 / ERC -6900) Session keys and delegated permissions: scoped, time-limited, policy-bound authority; TTLs and contract allowlists, origin binding, permission revocation; ERC -7710 / ERC -7715 Signature schemes and wallet interfaces: EIP -712 typed data, ERC -1271 contract signatures, WebAuthn / passkey (P-256) signers; EIP -1193, EIP -6963, EIP -5792 batched calls, ERC -7677 paymaster interfaces Smart contracts and EVM Solidity and the EVM : reading, reviewing and writing account, paymaster and module contracts; gas-aware design; upgradeability and migration patterns; working effectively with external auditors L2 specifics and their effect on wallet design: native account abstraction on zkSync-family chains, transaction and fee models, finality and reorg behavior, RPC and indexer semantics Backend Go: idiomatic code, concurrency patterns, performance profiling TypeScript and SDK design: client-side SDK surfaces that internal and external teams build on Distributed systems and their trade-offs (consistency, availability, failure modes); reconciling off-chain state against an authoritative on-chain result Data and infrastructure PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimization, migrations at scale Kubernetes: deploying, operating and debugging services Asynchronous messaging and event-driven design (Kafka or NATS ): consumer groups, at-least-once delivery Git, CI/CD Security Key management in production: platform secure storage (Keychain / Keystore), HSMs, MPC or threshold signing, and the operational discipline around each Wallet threat modeling: signature and delegation phishing, malicious dApp origins, replay and cross-chain replay, token approval abuse, paymaster griefing and DoS Leadership Leading multi-quarter technical initiatives across teams Influencing architecture and standards beyond your immediate team RFCs and design docs that stand on their own and are actionable without you in the room AI-assisted engineering Daily hands-on use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) for development and review, including configuring them for a repository English English at C1 level Nice to Have Hands-on experience with ZK Stack and zk -rollups Hands-on experience with embedded and ecosystem wallet and AA infrastructure technologies (thirdweb, Privy, Dynamic, Turnkey, Pimlico, Alchemy, Biconomy, ZeroDev, Safe{Core}), with clear views on build versus buy MPC / threshold custody, social recovery or guardian-based recovery in a consumer product NFT and token infrastructure at scale: ERC -721 / ERC -1155 / ERC -20 mechanics, marketplace contracts, Merkle-based airdrop and claim distribution, chain indexing services Contributions to open-source wallet, security or identity projects, including authoring or reviewing ERC / EIP standards Compliance requirements for crypto consumer products: KYC / AML , geofencing, MiCA , SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR data minimization, audit logging Identity and auth integration for wallet derivation: OAuth 2.0 / OIDC , JWT verification, token scoping Platform or infrastructure engineering: building systems other engineers build on Owning a mobile wallet surface: React Native / Expo, WebView provider injection, native signing UI Gaming industry experience: platforms for game developers, publishers or players How We Work Decisions in writing. Significant technical decisions are written up as an RFC or ADR that lays out the options and trade-offs. We work across time zones, so a design has to stand on its own. AI is part of everyday engineering. We use AI coding tools for development and review, and we treat configuring them for a codebase as real engineering work. HOW WE HIRE Intro call. Your background, your motivation and the role. Technical interview. Built directly on the What you will own and Required sections above. We won't ask about anything this posting doesn't promise. System design. You design part of a wallet or account abstraction platform end to end and walk us through the trade-offs. Bar raiser.
