ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Identity & Access Management (IAM) platform team. This is an individual contributor role with outsized technical scope: you'll be the technical anchor for how Xsolla builds secure, high-scale auth infrastructure — setting direction, making hard architectural calls, and raising the bar across the org.
You will own the strategy behind authentication, authorization, and session management at scale, and evolve our OAuth 2.0 / OIDC flows and token lifecycle to meet both product and compliance needs. You operate with significant autonomy, but your decisions ripple across teams — so you'll spend real time building buy-in with engineering and security stakeholders, not just designing in isolation.
You are technically deep, calm under pressure, and comfortable being the escalation point when production IAM issues get hard. You write the RFCs and design docs that people actually read, and you create leverage for the broader engineering org through documentation, tooling, and mentorship — without needing a management title to do it.
ABOUT US
Xsolla is a global commerce company with robust tools and services to help developers solve the inherent challenges of the video game industry. From indie to AAA, companies partner with Xsolla to help them fund, distribute, market, and monetize their games. Grounded in the belief in the future of video games, Xsolla is resolute in the mission to bring opportunities together, and continually make new resources available to creators. Headquartered and incorporated in Los Angeles, California, Xsolla operates as the merchant of record and has helped over 1,500+ game developers to reach more players and grow their businesses around the world. With more paths to profits and ways to win, developers have all the things needed to enjoy the game.
For more information, visit xsolla.com.
Responsibilities
Own IAM Architecture & Strategy
— Own the technical strategy and architecture of our IAM platform, covering authentication, authorization, and session management at scale.
Design Auth Protocols
— Design and evolve our OAuth 2.0 / OIDC flows, token lifecycle, and security primitives to meet both product and compliance requirements.
Drive Cross-Team Technical Decisions
— Drive decisions on protocol design, data modeling, and platform reliability, and build buy-in across engineering and security teams.
De-Risk Proactively
— Identify systemic risks and performance bottlenecks; lead initiatives to resolve them before they become incidents.
Set Engineering Standards
— Define engineering standards, review critical code and designs, and create leverage for the team through documentation, tooling, and mentorship.
Align with Stakeholders
— Collaborate with product, security, and infra teams to align on roadmap and translate business needs into well-scoped technical plans.
Own Production Escalations
— Serve as the go-to escalation point for complex production issues in the IAM domain.
Requirements
Identity & Security
OAuth 2.0 / OIDC Depth
— Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and related auth flows: authorization code + PKCE, client credentials, device flow, token introspection, refresh strategies.
Web Security Fundamentals
— Solid grasp of cookie security, CSRF, XSS, token storage, TLS, and secure session management.
Production IAM Experience
— Experience designing or operating production-grade IAM or auth systems.
Domain Context
Gaming Industry Experience
— Experience working in the video game industry, building or operating platforms for game developers, publishers, or players.
Backend Engineering
Go Engineering
— Strong Go (Golang) engineering skills: idiomatic code, concurrency patterns, performance profiling.
Distributed Systems
— Experience with distributed systems and their trade-offs (consistency, availability, failure modes).
Data & Infrastructure
PostgreSQL
— Schema design, query optimization, migrations at scale.
Kubernetes
— Deploying, operating, and debugging services in a k8s environment.
Message Streaming
— Kafka or NATS — event-driven patterns, consumer groups, at-least-once delivery.
Git & CI/CD
— Git and modern CI/CD practices.
Leadership
Cross-Team Initiative Leadership
— Proven ability to lead multi-quarter technical initiatives across teams.
Architectural Influence
— Track record of influencing architecture and standards beyond your immediate team.
Written & Verbal Communication
— You write RFCs and design docs that people actually read.
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with the Ory ecosystem (Hydra, Kratos, Keto) — operating it in production or building on top of its APIs
Experience with CockroachDB or other distributed SQL databases (multi-region deployments, clock skew handling, survivability trade-offs)
Familiarity with compliance requirements relevant to IAM: SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR data minimization, audit logging
Contributions to open-source security or identity projects
Experience building or integrating with SCIM, SAML, or enterprise SSO (LDAP / Active Directory)
Background in platform or infrastructure engineering — building systems other engineers build on top of
Hands-on, up-to-date experience with modern AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, Cursor) for code generation, review, and accelerating day-to-day engineering work

About The Team
The Trading Strategies Mobile Team owns OKX's Trading Bot and Copy Trading experiences across iOS and Android. On the Trading Bot side we build the full suite of strategy bots (Spot & Futures Grid, Spot & Futures DCA, Recurring Buy, Smart Portfolio, Smart Arbitrage, Signal Bot, DCD, and AI-powered bots) that let millions of users automate their trading across spot and derivatives. On the Copy Trading side we let users discover top traders and automatically mirror their positions. It's a large, high-complexity mobile surface built on a shared Rust/UniFFI core, and we're actively moving performance-critical paths to Rust so the logic is shared across platforms. We care deeply about engineering quality. A big, fast-moving codebase demands high standards for architecture, stability, and performance, so we invest consistently in review rigor, knowledge-sharing, and technical training to keep raising the bar. We're also a growth team, working closely with Product and Design to ship new strategies, improve the automated trading experience, and most recently build AI-driven bot experiences. We're at an exciting inflection point, bringing AI into both our product and our engineering workflows. If you're energized by taming complexity at scale, driving technical excellence and business impact in equal measure, and shaping how automated crypto trading works for millions, this is the team to be on.
What You'll Be Doing
Own the technical architecture and delivery of the Android/iOS Trading Bot codebase as your primary focus, while also contributing to Copy Trading as our second core surface, raising code quality, stability, and performance across both and across the flows that create, manage, copy, and follow strategies.
Lead large-scale technical initiatives end to end, from the Kotlin/Swift-to-Rust/UniFFI migration to modularization and binary-compatibility discipline across the Trading Bot and shared-core repositories, and the work to cut crash, ANR, and startup hotspots.
Join product requirement discussions, shape well-reasoned technical solutions, and protect product performance, stability, and user experience.
Partner with product and business to drive the Trading Bot roadmap, from new strategy types to sharing, attribution, and growth features, to AI-powered bot experiences, turning technical leverage into business impact.
Stay close to industry trends, keep refining the technical architecture, and grow the team's engineering capabilities through training and knowledge-sharing.
Mentor engineers and lead by influence, lifting the whole team's technical proficiency.
Lead the team in exploring the integration of AI into business scenarios, driving product and technology innovation.
What We Look For In You
Staff/Principal level Android/iOS expertise.
8+ years building and shipping production Android/iOS apps, with deep Kotlin and a strong command of multi-module architecture, dependency and binary-compatibility constraints, and platform performance (ANR, crash, startup, memory).
A track record of leading mid to large projects end to end.
You hold a high bar for architecture and engineering quality, and you've raised that bar on a large, legacy-heavy codebase with results to show for it.
Technical strategy paired with business sense.
You can set technical direction and work with product to turn it into roadmap and revenue. You own outcomes, not just code.
A trading or fintech background.
Client-side experience at a crypto exchange, brokerage, or fintech app, with familiarity in core domains like order placement, market data, and asset management. Automated or algorithmic trading is a strong plus.
Influence and mentorship.
You make the engineers around you better through review, design guidance, and knowledge-sharing, and you build alignment across teams without leaning on authority.
Nice-To-Haves
Cross-language or Rust experience.
Rust, UniFFI/FFI, or iOS Swift/Obj-C, and comfort owning a shared cross-platform core.
Automated-trading domain depth.
Hands-on with trading bots, grid or DCA strategies, perpetuals and derivatives, copy or social trading, or market-making and arbitrage, or trading in general.
AI engineering experience.
LLM fundamentals, prompt engineering, RAG, or agent workflows, and an eye for bringing AI into both the product and the engineering workflow.
Performance and reliability tooling.
APM, tracing, and crash or ANR triage at scale.
Scaled
CI/CD
.
Experience with large monorepo or multi-module release systems, such as MMR-style merge pipelines.
Client-side team leadership.
You've mentored or led a client-side team and can drive cross-team collaboration and technical review.

Monitor performance health metrics, calibration patterns, adoption, and talent outcomes, translating data into actionable insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders, including the CHRO and executive leadership.
Continuously evaluate external practices, emerging technology, AI capabilities, and future-of-work trends to identify opportunities to strengthen SIE’s Talent & Performance ecosystem.
Who We’re Looking For:
Demonstrated depth in Talent Management and Performance, with experience owning complex, enterprise-wide programs in a large, global, matrixed organization. You’ve operated with the autonomy, judgment, and influence required to shape direction, not simply execute an established approach.
Proven experience owning, designing, evolving, and executing enterprise-wide performance management programs, with meaningful experience across calibration, talent reviews, succession planning, promotions, and career development.
Experience navigating global complexity, including partnering across regions, functions, and senior stakeholder groups to drive enterprise-wide talent outcomes.
Deep Talent & Performance expertise with the ability to bring a clear point of view, diagnose opportunities, challenge existing approaches, and translate strategy into scalable execution.
Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior leaders, navigate competing priorities, and create alignment across complex stakeholder groups spanning levels, functions, and geographies.
Strong organizational and contextual judgment - you understand that the right solution depends on the business, culture, organizational maturity, and readiness for change rather than simply applying external best practices.
Experience leading through influence and successfully driving outcomes in environments where decision-making and accountability are distributed across multiple stakeholders.
Strong change leadership capabilities, with demonstrated success building stakeholder commitment and driving adoption of new or evolving Talent & Performance practices.
Data-literate and deeply curious - you use analytics, stakeholder feedback, employee insights, and external trends to form recommendations, test assumptions, and continuously improve outcomes.
Experience leveraging HR technology to enable enterprise Talent & Performance processes; experience with BetterWorks or comparable performance/talent platforms is valuable but not required.
Comfortable exploring how emerging technologies, including AI, can improve manager effectiveness, employee experience, decision quality, and the scalability of Talent & Performance programs.
Executive presence and communication skills that allow you to translate complex talent concepts into clear, compelling recommendations for senior leaders.
A deep commitment to equity, transparency, employee growth, and creating talent practices that strengthen both individual and business performance.

• Comfortable working independently/remotely without a local office infrastructure, while staying connected to a small regional team based in Nairobi.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Honest, hard-working, relationship-driven, and willing to travel as needed.
• Local Nigerian candidates strongly preferred; Lagos-based preferred but not essential.
• No specific educational background required – industry experience and network matter most.

1Password is growing. We’ve surpassed $500M in ARR and we’re continuing to accelerate, earning a spot on the Forbes Cloud 100 for four years in a row and teaming up with iconic partners like Oracle Red Bull Racing.
About 1Password
At 1Password, we’re building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Unified Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world’s most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work.
If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future.
We are hiring a Principal Engineer to help define the technical direction for core product experiences at 1Password.
This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who can translate ambitious product strategy into systems that scale technically and operationally. You will drive architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction across the product ecosystem, working across client applications, distributed services, data platforms, and shared infrastructure to build experiences that are secure, reliable, performant, and maintainable. This is not a role scoped to a single team or subsystem. The expectation is organization-level technical leadership: shaping how Product Engineering approaches complex cross-cutting problems, guiding long-term architectural investments, and establishing the technical patterns and operational standards other teams build against.
You will operate across the full lifecycle of product engineering work, from architecture and system design through production operations and long-term evolution. Success in this role requires balancing product velocity with engineering durability, making pragmatic technical tradeoffs, and driving alignment across teams with different priorities and constraints.
You will help evolve the next generation of 1Password’s product architecture, including the responsible integration of AI capabilities into core product experiences. Security and privacy by default, cross-platform consistency, operational resilience, and enterprise-scale reliability are foundational requirements that must be reflected in every architectural decision.
If you want to build systems used daily by millions of individuals and hundreds of thousands of businesses, and solve engineering problems where distributed systems, reliability, usability, security, and intelligent automation all matter simultaneously, this is that role.
How we’re using AI today
Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- You have designed and operated large-scale distributed systems where reliability, scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence matter.
- You have deep experience driving architecture and technical direction across multiple teams, organizations, or product domains.
- You have strong systems-thinking instincts and can reason effectively about platform boundaries, distributed systems constraints, developer ergonomics, and long-term technical sustainability.
- You have experience building customer-facing product systems across clients, APIs, distributed services, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms.
- You have experience building or scaling event-driven systems, microservices architectures, or shared platform infrastructure in production environments.
- You have practical experience integrating AI or ML capabilities into production applications and understand the engineering tradeoffs involved in introducing AI into trust-sensitive product experiences.
- You have strong instincts for privacy-preserving and security-conscious system design, including thoughtful handling of telemetry, user data, permissions, and auditability.
- You are effective at driving alignment across teams with different incentives, priorities, and technical perspectives.
- You communicate clearly with engineers, executives, and cross-functional partners, and can explain complex technical tradeoffs in practical terms.
- You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping organizations make durable technical decisions before every variable is known.
Bonus points for:
- Experience in identity, authentication, authorization, secrets management, enterprise security, or trust-oriented product domains.
- Experience building large-scale event-driven or multi-region distributed systems in cloud environments.
- Experience building cross-platform applications or shared platform architectures at scale.
- Experience with developer platforms, internal engineering frameworks, CI/CD systems, or large-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Experience integrating LLMs or AI-assisted workflows into customer-facing SaaS applications.
- Experience with endpoint trust, browser or extension security, enterprise administration workflows, or device posture systems.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising the engineering bar across organizations through technical leadership and operational excellence.
What you can expect:
- Define architecture and technical direction for core product capabilities spanning clients, distributed services, data platforms, and shared infrastructure.
- Establish engineering standards and reusable architectural patterns for scalable, maintainable, and resilient product systems across Product Engineering.
- Drive long-term technical strategy across critical product areas, balancing immediate delivery needs with scalability, operational excellence, and platform sustainability.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Security, Privacy, Infrastructure, and Data teams to ensure technical decisions support both customer outcomes and long-term operational durability.
- Guide how AI-powered capabilities are integrated into customer-facing product experiences, ensuring systems are reliable, observable, operationally safe, and aligned with customer trust expectations.
- Define engineering expectations for AI-enabled product systems, including evaluation frameworks, rollout safety, telemetry, fallback behavior, auditability, and operational controls.
- Establish shared platform capabilities and infrastructure patterns that allow teams to build product features consistently across clients, services, APIs, and AI-assisted workflows.
- Influence and drive key architectural decisions around distributed systems design, event-driven architectures, synchronization models, scalability, performance, reliability, extensibility, and platform interoperability.
- Help teams navigate difficult technical tradeoffs, unblock large cross-functional initiatives, and reduce systemic engineering complexity across the organization.
- Raise the operational bar for production systems through stronger reliability practices, observability standards, incident readiness, performance analysis, and engineering discipline.
- Mentor and influence engineers across the organization through technical leadership, architecture reviews, design guidance, and hands-on problem solving.
What success looks like:
Success in this role means Product Engineering can scale product development without sacrificing reliability, maintainability, security, or customer trust. That includes:
- Durable architectural patterns that enable teams to move faster with less duplication and lower operational overhead.
- Product systems that scale reliably across platforms, enterprise environments, and growing customer complexity.
- Engineering teams making more consistent technical decisions with clearer standards and stronger shared foundations.
- AI-powered product experiences that are useful, measurable, trustworthy, and operationally safe.
- Reduced systemic friction across development, delivery, observability, and cross-team coordination.
- Stronger operational resilience, including improved reliability, debuggability, rollout safety, and incident response readiness.
- Technical investments that improve long-term engineering velocity instead of creating organizational drag or platform fragmentation.

About the role
We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to oversee a portfolio of products within the Ondo platform — spanning tokenized equities, fixed income, and investment strategies. You will own product lines end to end: setting direction, translating market and customer needs into clear product proposals, and driving execution across Engineering, Design, BD, Strategy, and Operations. This role sits at the intersection of capital markets and blockchain infrastructure — you will need to understand both the financial products you are building and the technical systems that power them. The ideal candidate brings genuine care for the product, deep familiarity with capital markets structure and participants, and the ability to move fast without sacrificing quality.
Responsibilities
Own one or more product lines within the Ondo platform (e.g., tokenized equities, treasuries, or investment strategies), driving roadmap prioritization and delivery end to end
Lead customer and partner discovery to surface high-value opportunities across tokenized securities, structured products, and related asset classes
Translate ambiguous market and stakeholder needs into structured PRDs with clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and success metrics
Assess feasibility and complexity of new features and product lines in collaboration with Engineering and Solutions Engineering
Build business cases rooted in ROI, risk, and strategic alignment, and secure cross-functional buy-in for go decisions
Represent Ondo credibly with external stakeholders — institutional partners, issuers, distributors — and serve as the product point of contact in those discussions
Define delivery milestones, manage execution to production, and instrument post-launch reviews to iterate based on results
Maintain a prioritized pipeline of product opportunities that continuously feeds the roadmap
Contribute to overall product strategy by bringing capital markets insight, competitive analysis, and ecosystem signal to internal discussions
Requirements
5+ years of full-time product management or founder experience, including end-to-end ownership of shipped products
Meaningful exposure to capital markets — equities, fixed income, funds, or structured products — whether through TradFi roles, fintech, or working closely with institutional clients and partners
Prior experience in a blockchain or crypto-native environment, or working on tokenization, digital assets, or DeFi products
Understanding of how financial products are structured, distributed, and regulated, and the ability to engage credibly with institutional counterparties
Strong customer research skills across qualitative and quantitative methods, with the ability to turn insights into crisp product decisions
Proven track record turning ambiguous requirements into shipped products with measurable outcomes
Excellent communication skills for both external and internal audiences, including logical writing and executive-ready documentation
Solid analytical skills and comfort defining success metrics and using data to guide prioritization and iteration
High ownership, strong organizational discipline, and the ability to operate in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
Based in PT, MT, CT, or ET time zones
Nice to have
Experience working alongside Business Development, Partnerships, or Sales on product-adjacent initiatives
Familiarity with brokerage, exchange, or market-making operations and the systems that support them
Exposure to frontend or UX practices sufficient to collaborate effectively with designers and engineers
What we offer
Competitive compensation including salary, future token rights, and/or equity (according to your preferences) — we're well-funded and believe that great talent deserves great compensation
Full benefits (medical, vision, and dental) and flexible vacation policy (PTO)
Small remote-first team across many countries — you'll be an early team member helping shape our vision, culture, and design practices
A+ colleagues — our team includes alumni from: Goldman Sachs, Blackrock, Two Sigma, Bridgewater, SpaceX, AWS, Meta, Google, Pinterest, McKinsey, Circle, Uniswap, Phantom
Best-in-class investors — we are proud to be backed by leading crypto experts and VCs, including Pantera Capital, Founders Fund and Coinbase Ventures

About the Role
As a Senior Blockchain Engineer at Ondo, you will own the design of our smart contract
systems
- not just the contracts themselves, but how they're deployed, secured, monitored, and managed across their entire lifetime, and how they connect to the people and products that depend on them.
You'll design secure, efficient, and scalable smart contract solutions across many blockchain ecosystems powering Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization. But the harder and more important part of this role is everything around the contract: keeping it secure from deploy through every day it's live, building tooling that lets non-technical teammates safely view and manage on-chain state, and creating automated systems that take manual, error-prone work off the table.
You'll think about how a smart contract design decision ripples outward, to the web app, to the teams operating the system day to day, and ultimately to our end users. You'll collaborate with product, legal, compliance, web, and ops to make sure contracts are technically sound, regulatorily aligned, and genuinely operable by the teams who rely on them day to day. Throughout, you'll favor simple, elegant designs that let us move quickly
and
safely.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of finance by building the systems that bring real-world assets on-chain, and by making those systems something a whole organization can build on with confidence.
Responsibilities
Smart Contract System Design:
Architect entire smart contract systems for Ondo's evolving product suite — covering new chain deployments, novel DeFi interoperability and bridging solutions, and DeFi protocols — with security, operability, and long-term maintainability designed in from the start.
Lifecycle Security & Operations:
Own contract security not just at deploy but across the full lifetime of the system — including upgrade safety, administrative controls, and the operational guardrails that keep things safe as they evolve.
Tooling & Automation:
Build tooling and automated systems that let non-technical teammates safely view, monitor, and manage contracts without writing scripts or touching raw chain operations directly.
Cross-Functional Integration:
Connect smart contract design to the rest of the product — helping the web team integrate cleanly, helping operational teams monitor and manage without direct scripting, and ensuring design decisions flow sensibly through to end users.
Technical Leadership:
Serve as tech lead and subject matter expert for blockchain projects, guiding the engineering team toward high-impact, scalable solutions and making sound technical decisions aligned with long-term goals.
Requirements
Based in PT, MT, CT, or ET time zones.
Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills, verbal and written.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years in blockchain engineering, ideally from another DeFi protocol live on multiple chains.
Strong competency with Solidity; exposure to non-EVM smart contract languages a plus — particularly Solana.
Demonstrated ability to design
systems
, not just contracts — including tooling, automation, security across the contract lifecycle, and the integration points between contracts, applications, and operational teams.
Proven results building and scaling a DeFi protocol.
Python and/or TypeScript experience preferred (for building tooling and automation).
Strong technical grasp and excellent judgment on task prioritization.
Strong emphasis on understanding the "why" behind requirements and a commitment to defining the "minimum scope."

About The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Staff Mobile Engineer to join our OEX Mobile Growth team — a pure mobile team sitting at the intersection of engineering rigour, consumer growth craft, and product instinct. This is not a feature delivery role. You will own the client-side architecture for new user acquisition, referral and virality mechanics, and the reward and conversion funnels that drive growth for millions of users.
You bring deep expertise in mobile attribution — from MMP design and evolution through to anti-fraud, channel revenue sharing, and ROI evaluation — and you know how to turn attribution data into decisions. You are also fluent in AI-assisted development and bring the discipline to build, maintain, and continuously improve your own AI engineering workflows.
What You'll Be Doing
Own the client-side architecture for core growth conversion flows — new user acquisition, referral and virality loops, reward mechanics, and activity-driven engagement systems.
Design and evolve the mobile attribution system — including MMP integration, attribution modelling, and the application of attribution data across anti-fraud, channel revenue sharing, and ROI evaluation scenarios.
Build and optimise growth infrastructure including funnel instrumentation, experiment frameworks, and acquisition loops that directly serve the mobile user base.
Collaborate closely with Product, Business Development, and local market teams to translate commercial goals into concrete, data-backed engineering proposals.
Drive technical decision-making on growth infrastructure, articulating trade-offs clearly and defending or revising positions based on evidence.
Apply AI coding tools actively in your workflow — not just for code generation, but to build and maintain repeatable personal AI development workflows.
Mentor engineers on the team and help establish a culture where engineers bring solutions, not just responses.
What We Look For In You
8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production-quality systems at scale.
Deep familiarity with new user growth, referral and virality mechanics, activity and reward systems, and the client-side architecture behind core business conversion flows.
Strong expertise in mobile attribution design and evolution — hands-on experience with attribution platforms and solutions, and proven ability to drive attribution data into anti-fraud, channel revenue sharing, and ROI evaluation applications.
Proficient in AI-assisted development — able to independently build and maintain personal AI engineering workflows, not just use AI tools ad hoc.
Data instincts: you think in funnels, know how to instrument what matters, and use metrics to drive decisions.
Outspoken and proposal-driven — you come to the table with a point of view, push back when you disagree, and bring data and a counter-proposal rather than just flagging concerns.
Strong cross-functional communication — comfortable working with Product, Business Development, and local markets to align on goals and hold the line on engineering quality.
Nice-To-Haves
Mobile development experience in iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) — or backend experience building growth systems that serve mobile apps directly.
Depth in MMPs such as AppsFlyer, Adjust, or SKAdNetwork.
Experience building referral systems, k-factor mechanics, or anti-fraud layers.
A/B experiment framework ownership at meaningful scale.
ASO operational experience (App Store Connect, Google Play Console).
Background in fintech, crypto, or regulated consumer financial products.
Experience operating across APAC, EEA, or US markets.
Perks & Benefits
Competitive total compensation package
L&D programs and Education subsidy for employees' growth and development
Various team building programs and company events
Wellness and meal allowances
Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants

What The Role Is
As a
Staff Engineer
at Babylist, you own some of our hardest domains and decide where they go. Millions of families depend on what we build. Agents write most of the code now. So the hard part is yours: what to build, how it should work and whether what shipped was right. You're still in the code for the genuinely hard problems. Agents handle the volume. You spend your time on the parts that need a person. We're building well beyond the registry now: the financial side of raising a kid, maternal health made simpler and more human, the education new parents are looking for and the community around them. The hard problems run across all of it, plus the platform underneath and the AI we already ship to families.
You'll own a big piece of the product, but you won't be boxed into it. The roadmap is open. You have a say in which bets we make, and you pick what you take on next.
What You'll Own
A Staff Engineer here sets direction. You own a domain: a product surface, a platform area or a capability that cuts across several teams. You set where it's going over the next year or two, sequence the bets that get there and make the technical and product calls along the way. You're still in the code. We don't have architects who've stopped building. If you stepped away, multiple teams would feel it. Your influence shows up in the systems and the work other teams choose to build on. You don't need direct reports to have that reach. It comes from what you build.
In practice, you:
Take a fuzzy business problem from the first sketch through to production, and stay on the hook for whether it actually helped customers.
Build the platform or tooling other teams adopt by choice, and own it as it scales.
Make the architecture calls that span teams and the ones that are expensive to reverse.
Set the standard for how your domain builds with AI. Decide what good looks like, build the patterns and evals that get agents there and catch the output that's confidently wrong before it ships.
Partner with product, design and data as a peer, shaping what's worth building from the start.
Coach Senior engineers through the hard calls, the ambiguous ones as much as the technical ones.
A few problems people at this level are working on right now:
Resolving one customer across registry, shop and health, plus the friends and family buying for them, so personalization works everywhere without each team rebuilding it.
Designing the knowledge system our coding agents reliably load, and working out how much context actually helps before it starts to hurt.
Building Early Investor, our new family finance product, from scratch, on a deadline that can't move.
Who You Are
You've shipped production systems for enough years to have earned strong opinions, and you hold them loosely. You can pick up an ambiguous problem and start moving before anyone hands you the full picture. You've already changed how a team builds with AI, and the new way stuck. Most Staff engineers lean one of two ways, and both do well here. Some point their depth at the systems everyone runs on: the platforms, the reliability and security bar, the harnesses that make AI produce good code. Others point it at the customer: framing the problem with PMs as peers, owning a journey end to end, deciding what to build and learning whether it worked. You don't have to be both. You do have to be excellent at one and fluent in the other.
A few things that tend to be true of people who thrive here:
You measure yourself by impact: a customer outcome, or a system a dozen teams come to depend on.
You're curious: you spot problems before they're filed and push your own ideas until they ship.
Compensation
We post real numbers. For a US-based Staff Engineer, the starting base salary range is $233,500 to $290,700, plus a target annual bonus of 20 percent of base. That's total target cash of roughly $280,200 to $348,840. On top of that you get meaningful equity and a 401(k) match. Where you start in that range depends on your experience, and your pay grows from there with performance and scope.
How We Build
AI is the default here. Engineers run agentic sessions for most of the work, and a lot of the interesting engineering now lives in the scaffolding that makes the agents good: the eval harnesses, the curated context, custom review skills and fast CI. Agents also triage incidents and handle a big share of support. A human always owns the outcome.
The architecture is intentionally simple: one Rails monolith, MySQL and few moving parts. That's deliberate. Simple infrastructure lets us move fast and lets AI reason about the whole system, so the hardest problems are the ones in front of customers.

Why Babylist
An engineer, expecting her first baby, couldn't find the registry she wanted. So she built it. That's how Babylist started, and it's still how we work: engineers solving problems for families. Becoming a parent is one of the biggest moments in a person's life. Millions reach it for the first time every year, making thousands of decisions and figuring it out as they go. That's who we build for, and we're a long way from done.
Ten million people give gifts through Babylist every year. We did more than $750M in revenue in 2025, up 45 percent over the year before, and we've been profitable for eight years while staying independent. So you can take on a hard, multi-year problem without watching over your shoulder for the next round or the next correction. And the team is small, around 65 engineers, so what you ship stays visible and your scope stays wide.
How We Work
Remote-first across the US and Canada, and we have been for years. That's not changing. We trust you to own your time and your outcomes, and we get everyone in a room together twice a year. Teams are small, pods of three to five engineers, so nothing you ship disappears into a committee. You'll work shoulder to shoulder with product, design and data, and with the partners across the business who rely on what you ship. You'll also stay close to customers yourself: sitting in on user interviews, watching session recordings, riding along with support. Here that's part of the engineering job, on a regular basis.
How We Hire
Three rounds, usually two to three weeks start to finish.
Recruiter conversation (30 minutes).
Trade context: what you want next, what we're building and straight answers on comp, team and remote.
Technical screen (1 hour).
One round, no AI, language-agnostic. Reach for Google when you normally would. We just want to see how you reason from first principles.
Final round (4 hours).
Four one-hour interviews: system design, AI-assisted coding with the tools you'd actually use here, product sense and culture and values. You'll hear back either way within 24 to 48 hours.
If your timeline is tight, tell us and we'll move faster.
Benefits
Company-paid medical and fully covered dental and vision
A 401(k) match
Generous paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents, plus a gradual return-to-work program
Winter Wonder Week, a paid company-wide week off at the end of the year
A remote-work stipend
Mental-health and wellness support
A Few Things To Know
We record and transcribe interviews to evaluate candidates, in line with applicable privacy laws.
We expect you to use AI in your work and we welcome it in the process, but what you submit and say should reflect your own thinking.
If you have a family member or close relationship with a Babylist employee, let your recruiter know.
Official outreach only ever comes from an @babylist.com address
