How we work with AI
We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password.
This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. To us, this means we do ask that you join live interviews without using AI tools so we can get to know how you communicate, solve problems, and collaborate with others.
Our approach to work
We recognize the power of both in person collaboration and remote work. Some roles are designated as remote-first, with an expectation that individuals work from their homes majority of the time, while others are designated as in-office roles, with an expectation of being on-site on a regular basis. We recognize that certain roles benefit from regular, in-person connection to support collaboration, team cohesion, and customer engagement.
For all roles, occasional travel may be required. This includes things like: department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events are typically held in varying locations across Canada, USA and/or EMEA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.

An overview of this role
Based in Sydney, as a Senior Solutions Architect in GitLab's ANZ team, you'll be a trusted advisor to GitLab prospects and customers in the region, helping them understand how GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform addresses both technical requirements and business objectives across the entire software development lifecycle. You'll guide organisations through their digital transformation journeys, from planning through monitoring, using your technical expertise, understanding of cloud and modern software development practices, and strong customer empathy.
You will partner closely with Account Executives and cross-functional teams, own technical evaluations, including proofs of value and workshops, shape solution architectures, and serve as the voice of the customer back to Product Management. You'll focus on driving successful platform adoption, influencing revenue growth through solution selling, and building long-term, trust-based relationships that showcase GitLab's differentiated position in an AI-driven DevSecOps landscape.
What you'll do
Lead technical discovery, demos, and validation to show how GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform meets customers' technical and business needs across the full lifecycle.
Drive the technical evaluation process as the directly responsible individual, including solution design, proof of concept or proof of value ownership, workshop design, and the technical components of tenders, audits, and value stream assessments.
Collaborate with Account Executives and regional sales teams across ANZ to shape and execute account strategies that support new customer acquisition and expansion.
Build and deepen relationships with technical practitioners and business leaders, guiding them through GitLab-driven transformation and enabling them to become GitLab advocates.
Advise customers on modern software development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud practices, challenging existing approaches to improve return on investment.
Serve as the voice of the customer with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing by sharing feedback, use cases, and competitive insights that inform roadmap and positioning.
Maintain and extend your technical expertise in GitLab, DevSecOps, AI, and related cloud technologies, creating reusable examples, best practice guidance, and technical collateral for customers and partners.
Invest in your own growth and development through ongoing learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to continuously improve the impact of the Solutions Architect team.
What you'll bring
Experience engaging with customers in technical pre-sales, consulting, or similar roles, guiding them through solution design and evaluation.
Proficiency with the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including modern DevSecOps practices and continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows.
Hands-on experience with GitLab or comparable source control, continuous integration and continuous deployment, and collaboration platforms, and the ability to map platform capabilities to customer use cases.
Practical knowledge of cloud computing concepts and related technologies, with the ability to discuss deployment, security, and operations options with technical teams.
Ability to lead technical evaluations such as proofs of concept or proofs of value, contribute to tenders or audits, and design and run workshops or value stream assessments.
Clear technical communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messages for practitioners through to senior business and technical decision makers.
Skill in building trusted relationships, listening with empathy, and acting as a customer advocate to internal teams such as Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
Motivation to continuously develop professionally, including learning new technologies, deepening GitLab platform expertise, and applying transferable experience from related fields.
About the team
The Solutions Architect team is part of GitLab's Sales organisation and serves as the technical counterpart to Account Executives, with this role focused on opportunities across ANZ. The team helps customers realise the full value of GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform by advising on architecture, running technical evaluations such as proofs of value, and guiding customers through digital transformation. We work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, collaborating asynchronously across regions to share best practices, create reusable technical collateral, and act as the voice of the customer. This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a Director of Marketing who is a sharp strategic storyteller and a hands-on operator to join our Advertising & Rewards division. The best candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and exceptionally dynamic setting and is excited to own positioning and go-to-market at the intersection of several high-growth opportunities: a B2B advertising business, a B2C rewards app, a zero-party data and rewards platform, an on-chain identity and attribution layer, and a major strategic brand initiative.
Strong narrative development, messaging, and launch GTM skills are essential, along with experience turning complex, multi-product technology into clear, compelling stories for very different audiences — game developers, app marketers, and brand advertisers. The ability to build go-to-market from the ground up, owning positioning and enablement end to end, will be key to your success in this role.
If you’re passionate about crafting stories that make emerging technology click for buyers and love helping game developers and brands connect with players through advertising and rewards, we would love to hear from you!

Translate strategic direction into positioning, messaging, launch roadmaps, and measurable GTM outcomes for each product and initiative.
Act as the connective tissue between strategy and execution, ensuring high-quality delivery across every workstream.
Provide thought leadership on narrative development, competitive positioning, and content strategy as the portfolio and brand initiative scale.
Contribute to future marketing team design as the division builds out brand and agency sales.
Brand & Agency Sales Growth
Build the new narrative, messaging, and marketing plan required to support Xsolla Ads’ expansion into brand and agency sales.
Partner with the Currency team on the company’s strategic brand initiative, helping define and roll out Xsolla’s new positioning.

Make complex and emerging concepts, including Web3, on-chain attribution, and zero-party data, legible and compelling to non-technical buyers.
Sales Enablement & Content
Translate positioning into the assets the field needs: decks, one-pagers, case studies, demand stories, web and landing-page copy, and event narratives.
Equip BD and sales teams, including the advertiser outreach team and the new brand sales team, with the assets, talk tracks, and competitive positioning they need to win.
Develop audience- and persona-specific demand stories for both gaming and non-gaming ICPs, with alignment and feedback from BD.
Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership
Own the marketing operating model across the portfolio, including campaign intake, prioritization, GTM documentation, and approvals.
Maintain GTM calendars and a coordinated launch and event drumbeat across the year, and surface trends, risks, and optimization opportunities to the VP of Marketing.
Partner across product, growth, design, BD, legal, finance, and central marketing to keep launches on-brand and on time.
Coordinate with the central Xsolla marketing team to ensure division campaigns stay consistent with brand standards and broader GTM strategy.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
7–8 years of experience in marketing or GTM, with a proven track record of owning product launches and positioning end to end.
Mastery of positioning, messaging, and narrative — able to turn complex, multi-product technology into a clear story for multiple audiences.

Strong cross-functional leadership in a matrixed organization; comfortable being the bridge between product, sales, and marketing.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to adapt voice across executive narratives, sales enablement, and customer-facing copy.

Highly organized and self-directed — able to manage multiple concurrent launches without things falling through the cracks.
Collaborative team player comfortable interfacing with product, creative, growth, BD, and sales stakeholders.
