How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

ABOUT BASETEN
Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
THE ROLE
We’re looking for a customer-obsessed software engineer to come ship with us. You’ll own features like multi-node training and products like serverless reinforcement learning (RL) from conception to MVP (and from MVP to GA!). You’ll work through the stack, architecting solutions from API and UI down to our infrastructure layer. You’ll fine tune models yourself to develop an understanding of user workflows. You’ll work closely with research engineers leveraging state-of-the-art training techniques to build experiences that accelerate model development and solve for real pain points. If you’re excited to dive deep into the training, let’s talk!
THE PRODUCT
Take a look at what we’ve built so far:
- Overview of the product so far https://www.baseten.co/blog/baseten-training-is-ga/#training-is-now-ga
- Training docs overview https://docs.baseten.co/training/overview
- Story of the Training product https://www.baseten.co/blog/a-q-a-from-inference-to-training-the-inside-story-of-baseten-s-newest-product/
- Research we've done https://www.baseten.co/resources/research/
EXAMPLE INITIATIVES
- Checkpointing Pipeline: Our checkpointing pipeline starts with automated checkpointing, a feature that ensures that versions of models created during training are automatically backed up to the cloud. Users are able to then deploy checkpoints seamlessly into inference servers, providing point-and-click integrations into inference frameworks like vLLM and Baseten’s Inference Stack. This enables customers to quickly evaluate the performance of their checkpoints with real traffic.
- Multinode training: Multinode training enables customers to easily run training jobs across multiple compute nodes, enabling users to train large models like GLM 4.7 and DeepSeek. We’ve built deeply at the Kubernetes layer to ensure that scheduling, startup, inter-node communication, and shutdown happen seamlessly under the hood and as the user expects.
- Training DX: Customers come to train on Baseten because it helps them get to value fast. To do this, we ensure that the features we ship aren’t just fast, but are easy to iterate with. We enhanced Baseten’s metrics from pod-level GPU summaries to per-GPU and per-Node. We’ve built a CLI experience that caters to terminal users, and UI experiences that enable user to seamlessly manage their training jobs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Iterate like crazy
- Design ergonomic APIs and abstractions to model complex resources and lifecycles
- Work throughout the stack (API layer, backend and database implementation, infra layer; frontend is a plus) to implement features.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
As a Strategic Account Executive (Life Sciences) at Anthropic, you'll join the foundational team introducing our frontier AI platform to the world's leading life sciences organizations. You'll drive adoption of safe, frontier AI by securing strategic, enterprise-scale deals across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and research organizations. You'll leverage deep life sciences sales expertise to grow revenue while becoming a trusted advisor to industry stakeholders — helping them embed AI into R&D, clinical development, and commercial workflows, and uncovering its full range of capabilities. Working closely with Product and Marketing, you'll continuously sharpen our value proposition, sales motion, and market positioning for life sciences decision-makers.
The ideal candidate is energized by building a new category in an established, highly regulated industry — identifying high-potential accounts across pharmaceutical, biotech, and research organizations, and running the strategies to win them. By driving deployment of Anthropic's emerging products into life sciences enterprises, you'll help these organizations unlock new capabilities while advancing the responsible development of AI.
Key responsibilities
Own a book of strategic, high-value accounts across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and research organizations, carrying and exceeding an individual revenue target
Engage personally with C-level and senior technical stakeholders (CIOs, CTOs, Heads of R&D, Heads of Data/AI) — building business cases and value narratives, and navigating complex procurement, security, regulatory, and legal review through to production deployment and expansion
Identify and prioritize high-potential opportunities within your accounts, building and executing account plans that turn strategic relationships into committed revenue
Run a disciplined pipeline and forecasting cadence — accurate deal inspection, clear next steps, and predictable, coachable execution across a high-value, long-cycle book of business
Partner closely with Applied AI, Solutions Architecture, and Product to design solutions, prove value quickly, and translate life sciences-specific needs — R&D, clinical development, commercial — into product and roadmap input
Codify winning use cases, proof points, and reference stories from your deals, partnering with Marketing and Enablement to help scale them across the broader life sciences motion
Orchestrate cross-functional and partner motions with Customer Success, Legal, Partnerships, and cloud partners to deliver a seamless customer experience, and represent Anthropic as a visible, trusted voice with customers and at industry events
Minimum qualifications
5+ years of enterprise sales experience in life sciences, with demonstrated success covering bio, pharma, and research organizations
A track record of carrying and exceeding quota in enterprise sales of technical, complex products (API-first platforms, cloud infrastructure, data/ML platforms, or enterprise SaaS)
Experience winning and growing strategic enterprise accounts, including building C-suite relationships, within life sciences (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or research organizations)
Operational rigor across complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles — balancing velocity with deal quality and forecasting accurately in fast-changing environments
Credibility with technical buyers and builders — CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, Heads of AI/ML — and experience pairing effectively with solutions architects and applied AI teams
A genuine interest in deploying AI responsibly and motivation to advance Anthropic's mission of building safe, beneficial AI
Preferred qualifications
Experience bringing generative AI or LLM-based products, or other emerging platform technologies, to large pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies
Deep familiarity with regulated-industry selling — GxP compliance, data governance, regulatory and compliance-driven procurement, security review, and the governance expectations of pharma/biotech organizations
Experience selling with and through cloud and ecosystem partners such as AWS, Google Cloud, and global systems integrators
Familiarity with consumption- or usage-based commercial models and value-based pricing conversations
Experience navigating long, multi-stakeholder enterprise cycles (12+ months) typical of biopharma R&D and drug development procurement

ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
THE ROLE:
At Modal, we sell cloud services atop which our customers run their critical production systems. As a rapidly growing new cloud infrastructure company, we seek to improve our reliability dramatically while scaling the size of our platform, customer base, and team.
This role is for people who are deep systems thinkers, love stacking nines, and thrive on making others move faster at scale.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:
- Identify architectural changes to improve reliability and performance
- Foster a culture of reliability across Modal’s engineering organization
- Define and implement operational processes such as deployments and upgrades
- Operate infrastructure like Kubernetes, Postgres, and Redis
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have 5+ years of experience writing high-quality production code
- You have 2+ years of on-call experience for critical production services
- You have strong cloud skills and deep familiarity with at least one hyperscaler cloud (AWS preferred)
- You’re familiar with autoscaling, fleet management, and capacity planning at scale
- You’ve operated databases, monitoring, CI/CD, and other infrastructure at scale
- You’re able to work in person in our NYC or Stockholm offices
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience owning and scaling Kubernetes clusters to thousands of nodes
- Experience with systems safety research (e.g., STAMP) and control theory

About Anthropic

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We're looking for a research engineer who believes that visual and spatial reasoning are core to fully unlocking the capabilities of LLMs. On the Vision team, you'll own the end-to-end process of creating training data and RL environments targeting visual knowledge work: identifying long-horizon and vision-heavy tasks, building evals, designing rewards, and scaling data. This is a unique role that combines applied research with hands-on data work. It's also highly collaborative — you'll partner with external vendors, pretraining, RL, and product teams to make sure the environments you build translate into real-world knowledge work capabilities.
What you'll do:
Own the data strategy for vision capabilities end-to-end, from building evals and scaling RL environments
Manage technical relationships with external data vendors, including writing task specifications, evaluating visual data and annotation quality, and iterating on reward design
Develop and improve QA frameworks that catch reward hacking and ensure environment quality at scale
Run generalization experiments to measure how data strategy changes improve multimodal capabilities on held-out evaluations
Partner with pretraining, RL, and product teams, and do the science that shows we’re all rowing in the same direction
You may be a good fit if you:
Have 7+ years of ML, computer vision, and software engineering experience through industry, academia, or other projects
Have experience with reinforcement learning, reward design, or training data curation for large language or vision-language models
Are familiar with the architecture, training, and operation of large vision language models
Are comfortable managing technical vendor relationships and iterating quickly on feedback
Are results-oriented, with a bias towards flexibility and impact
Care about the societal impacts of your work
Strong candidates may also have experience with:
Designing evals or benchmarks for LLMs or vision language models
Large-scale pretraining, SL, and RL on language models
Deep learning research on images, video, or other modalities
Developing complex agentic systems using LLMs
Large-scale ETL and data pipeline development
Representative projects:
Writing a vendor-facing specification for a new family of visual RL training tasks, then iterating with the vendor on coverage, quality, and reward design
Running experiments to determine ideal training datamixes and parameters for a synthetically generated vision dataset
Finetuning Claude to maximize its performance using a particular set of agent tools/skills
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
