About the job
We have launched Keet Mobile on iOS and Android, bringing our full P2P technology stack to everyone. Keet Mobile is not your average app: it’s heavy lifting is performed by a custom JS runtime specially designed for peer-to-peer usage (in fact, it reuses 100% of Keet Desktop’s code!). The UI logic, on the other hand, is 100% React Native, giving us flexibility and the ability to iterate quickly.
We believe this pattern opens the door to huge possibilities in the future, and we need your help getting there!
Responsibilities
In this role, you will develop and maintain Keet Mobile, our peer-to-peer chat and calling app for iOS and Android. Keet Mobile is built with React Native and Expo, and its P2P core runs on the device itself in a Bare worklet. You'll own features end to end, from UI/UX implementation to using the P2P core apis.
You will:
- Build and polish features across chat, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing and identity backup
- Integrate native platform capabilities such as push notifications, camera, bio-metrics and background tasks on both iOS and Android
- Profile and optimise performance on real devices, including startup time, long chats, media handling, battery and network use
- Write unit and end-to-end tests, and help keep releases stable through CI and crash reporting
- Work closely with the core P2P, design and product teams, and review code with a high bar for quality
Significant experience with React Native, Redux for state management and Redux-Saga
Highly proficient in JavaScript and ES6+.
Experienced with WebSockets, RESTful based APIs.
Knowledge in native languages (Swift/Kotlin) and familiarity with native build tools (Xcode/Android Studio) is advantageous.
Experience working with a remote team
Interested in modernizing and optimizing different mobile or web applications.
Bonus points if you have any built something amazing on any p2p frameworks .

ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. They rely on Modal for instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, so it's simple to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale.
We've passed $1B in annualized run rate, up 15x from a year ago. In October 2026 we raised a $750M Series D led by Accel at a $15.75B valuation.
Our team includes creators of popular open-source projects (e.g.,Seaborn https://github.com/mwaskom/seaborn,Luigi https://github.com/spotify/luigi), academic researchers, international olympiad medalists, and experienced engineering and product leaders with decades of experience.
THE ROLE:
We are looking for strong engineers with experience and interest in designing, building, and maintaining the novel, high-performance systems that make up our serverless platform.
Specifically, you’ll be working on the distributed object storage system that underpins every container image, volume, and checkpoint on Modal: hundreds of petabytes of data, replicated across multiple cloud object stores and a CDN, cached on local NVMe across a large fleet of workers in many datacenters, and shared peer-to-peer within each datacenter.
You’ll make cold starts feel local when the data is hundreds of milliseconds away, designing the caching, preloading, and peer-to-peer layers that hide object-store latency and keep public ingress off saturated uplinks. You’ll own durability and cost at petabyte scale, from streaming and batch replication between origins to garbage collection over billions of objects. You’ll work across the stack, from local disk and page cache to distributed blob storage and garbage collection, and you’ll help shape what storage becomes next as we push storage closer to workloads.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON:
- Build P2P sharing of data across workers within a single datacenter to dramatically reduce ingress
- Replicate data across multiple blob storage providers
- Automate garbage collection across hundreds of petabytes of data
- Deploy colocated storage clusters to datacenters to accelerate high-throughput customer workloads
YOU MAY BE A FIT IF:
- You have 5+ years of experience writing high-quality production code
- You’ve built high-performance distributed storage or caching systems at a large scale (the more challenges you’ve worked through, the better)
- You have strong cloud skills, including deep familiarity with object storage (S3 or similar), CDNs, and their consistency, throughput, and cost characteristics
- You have strong knowledge of low-level operating system foundations (Linux kernel, file systems, page cache, containers, etc.)
- You’re willing to step into the thick of it with our on-call rotation and respond to production incidents
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience with replication, content addressing, and consistency models in multi-region or multi-cloud systems
- Experience operating storage systems at scale (petabyte-scale datasets, high-throughput read/write paths, large-scale garbage collection or data migration)
- Experience with data engineering at petabyte scale
- Prior experience with Rust

Salmon is a technology-driven financial company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. We combine global fintech expertise with deep local market knowledge to make financial services simple, accessible, and useful for millions of people across the region.
7M+ app downloads. 2M+ monthly active users. 7,000+ partner stores. US$310M+ raised from leading global investors.
Manila-based, globally distributed, and hybrid-first — our team spans 45+ countries.
If you want to solve complex problems at scale and impact how millions of people access and manage money, come build with us. Southeast Asia's fintech moment starts here.
What’s special about our payment platform:
- Built for resilience: a fault-tolerant platform where payments keep flowing even when parts of the system or external partners fail
- Integrations: international partners and domestic Philippine payment rails
- Money-movement flows: cash-in, cash-out, bill payments, loan disbursement and repayment, and more
- Platform approach: one platform serving multiple internal products and teams, with shared APIs, SDKs, and reusable building blocks
- Architecture: Kotlin/Spring Boot microservices, Kafka, relational databases, and durable workflow orchestration for long-running payment processes
- Reliability by design: idempotency, retries and timeouts toward unreliable external partners, full audit trail
- Compliance: regulated environment (BSP), with security and fraud checks built into the flow
What you’ll do:
- Develop scalable microservices on the JVM with Spring Boot, as part of a team building platform solutions for our banking product.
- Design payment services with a focus on DDD, eventual consistency, and resilience to partner and infrastructure failures.
- Work with product, QA, security, and operations to release changes under agreed engineering standards.
What you’ll own:
- Own the design, build, and maintenance of software components supporting the Core Engineering team.
- Design and evolve payment flows end to end: processing, routing, status handling, refunds/reversals.
- Integrate new payment providers, banks, and partner channels, and handle their failure modes gracefully.
- Build and maintain scalable, reliable APIs and services, and contribute to internal SDKs and frameworks that let product teams launch new payment use cases quickly and safely.
- Investigate payment incidents (stuck, duplicated, or inconsistent transactions) and make the system self-healing.
- Translate functional requirements into technical solutions and maintainable implementations.
- Contribute to code and configuration reviews.
What makes you a strong fit:
- 3+ years of software development on the JVM; good knowledge of Kotlin is an advantage
- Experience with Spring Boot in a microservice environment
- Experience with domain-driven design and eventual consistency
- Experience with payments, banking, or other transactional/financial systems (payment platforms, PSP integrations, wallets, ledgers)
- Solid understanding of idempotency, distributed transactions, retries, and timeouts in money flows
- Track record in an agile setup with continuous deployment and delivery
- Experience with containerization and orchestration in a cloud environment (Docker and Kubernetes preferred, AWS preferred)
- Experience with, and enjoyment of, continuous knowledge-sharing within the team
- Nice to have: Kafka, workflow engines, ISO 20022
What we offer:

- Fully remote work with core collaboration hours from 1:00 to 7:00 PM Manila time (UTC+8)
- Company-provided tools and equipment
