BUILD SOMETHING PEOPLE LOVE
Wealthsimple is Canada’s leading financial innovator. The company offers a full suite of simple, sophisticated financial products across managed investing, do-it-yourself trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, spending and saving. Wealthsimple currently serves more than 4 million Canadians and holds over $155 billion in assets under administration. The company was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs, and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/culture and learn more about how we work https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/careers.
About the team
We build the products and infrastructure that millions of Canadians trust with their financial lives. Data & Engineering at Wealthsimple spans everything from the client-facing apps to the systems running underneath them — and we hold ourselves to a high bar on both. We move fast, but we build thoughtfully: quality, security, and scalability aren’t trade-offs here, they’re the standard.
The Production Engineering team sits within Platform Experience, on the boundary between Platform and Product. Our mandate is to raise reliability across Wealthsimple’s most critical flows — reducing incidents, helping service teams ship safely, and turning individual fixes into platform-wide improvements. We measure ourselves against two targets: 99.9% uptime on critical flows, and fewer than 1% of weekly active users experiencing errors in the app. If you want to work on hard problems with people who care deeply about craft, you’ll fit right in.
About the role
This is a new role — one that doesn’t yet exist at Wealthsimple — and it’s a meaningful one. As a Staff Software Developer on Production Engineering, you’ll bring senior technical leadership to the work of making Wealthsimple more reliable at scale. You’ll work across platform and product teams, identify the highest-leverage reliability problems, and build solutions that don’t just fix the immediate issue but raise the floor for everyone. This isn’t a role where you sit in one corner of the codebase. It’s a role where you shape how engineering gets done across the company.
What you’ll do
- Improve the platform to prevent incidents — designing and driving adoption of guardrails, sensible defaults, and engineering standards that reduce the likelihood of failures across services
- Build tooling that reduces time to mitigation when incidents occur, including contributing to our in-house product on AI-assisted incident response
- Own the investigation and follow-through on load test findings — translating results into concrete reliability improvements across critical flows
- Work across platform and product engineering teams as a technical influencer — participating in architecture and readiness reviews, coaching service owners, and driving adoption of scalable reliability practices
- Identify recurring failure patterns and design platform-level fixes that prevent them from showing up again in a different service
- Contribute to the team’s reliability syncs with product engineering, helping align on incident themes, critical-flow risks, and the next highest-leverage initiatives
Skills you bring
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time in platform, infrastructure, or SRE work
- Demonstrated track record of improving reliability at scale — reducing incidents, building guardrails, or driving operational standards across multiple teams
- Strong proficiency in backend systems and distributed architecture; you can diagnose complex failure modes across a service mesh
- Experience with load testing and capacity planning, and the ability to translate findings into concrete engineering improvements
- Proven ability to work across engineering teams as a technical influencer — driving adoption of standards and practices without direct authority
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Argo and modern deployment tooling
- Strong written and verbal communication — comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to both engineering teams and senior leadership
Who you are
- You think in systems — you’re not looking for the fix, you’re looking for what caused the problem and how to make sure it doesn’t happen elsewhere
- You’re comfortable working without direct authority; you build credibility through the quality of your thinking and the clarity of your recommendations
- You hold a high bar for operational excellence without making it someone else’s problem to catch up to — you bring people along
- You’re energised by ambiguity, not slowed down by it; you know how to prioritise when everything feels urgent
- You’re curious about where AI-assisted tooling is headed in reliability engineering, and you want to help shape how we use it — not just observe it from a distance

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion.
Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Solutions Consultant Manager is the person who makes our GTM motion real on the ground. As an in-region leader directly managing a team of Solutions Consultants, you'll own your team's full commercial output—new logo, expansion, and renewals—and be accountable for both the results and the quality of execution that produces them.
This isn't a traditional pipeline-management role. The best SC Managers are coaches first: they know what a great first meeting looks like, can watch a live build and tell a rep exactly what to change, and build the operating rhythm and inspection cadence that makes consistent execution possible across the team. If you're a builder who loves developing people as much as winning deals—and you want to lead a regional team in a go-to-market model that's genuinely new—this is the role.
This role will be based in Munich, Germany. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Own the commercial performance of your team across new logo ARR, expansion ARR, and UBP outcomes—accountable for both the headline numbers and the quality of execution that drives them
- Coach SCs on the GTM builder motion: what great looks like in a first meeting (workflow diagnosis, current → future architecture), a second meeting (live build in Notion + value narrative), and through the full cycle to adoption hand-off
- Contribute to and participate in the regional operating cadence: weekly pipeline reviews, deal support sessions, call reviews against the motion quality rubric, and forecast calls with senior leadership
- Hire, onboard, and certify new SCs to the GTM builder motion—driving readiness from ramp through consistent execution, and managing performance with clarity when expectations aren't met
- Partner with the regional BDR manager on pipeline strategy, outbound targeting, and qualification standards to ensure the team's book of business is healthy and growing
- Partner with Outcomes leadership on adoption hand-offs, at-risk account management, and renewal strategy—owning the overall commercial arc for the region while collaborating on the execution that follows close
- Represent your team or region in leadership forums with clear signal on what's working, what needs investment, and where execution is breaking down
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Track record as a quota-carrying B2B seller with direct experience in workflow design, live demos, or technical sales—you can coach the builder motion because you've run it yourself
- Frontline sales management experience: built an operating cadence, ran performance management, and developed talent from onboarding through consistent overperformance
- Strong coaching orientation: you can watch a demo or deal review and identify specifically what to change—not just whether the outcome was good, but why, and what the rep should do differently next time
- Commercial instincts at the team level: able to read pipeline health, identify risk early, and drive urgency across a team without micromanaging individual deals
- You don't need to be an AI expert, but you're curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
- Fluency in English and German.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience selling or managing in a consumption or usage-based business where adoption signals matter as much as closed ARR
- Track record building high-performing regional teams from an early stage: hiring to profile, structured onboarding, certification, and performance management
- Experience in a shared account ownership model—able to navigate the SC/CSA hand-offs and hold the commercial arc across the full customer lifecycle

With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.

Architect and implement improvements to our adapter interface, the crucial layer that connects dbt to a growing ecosystem of databases and data platforms, enabling the community to build more powerful and efficient integrations.
Debug complex, system-level issues that span from Linux process management and concurrency models to database query planning and network protocols.
Lead technical design discussions and contribute to the long-term architectural roadmap for dbt Core, making key decisions about what, how, and when we build to ensure its scalability and reliability for years to come.
Mentor other engineers and review contributions from our vibrant open-source community, upholding our high standards for code quality, testing, and design while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Take strong ownership of our distributed systems, troubleshoot complex production issues, and participate in an on-call rotation to maintain high availability and deliver a resilient platform experience.
Skills We’re Looking For
We are looking for an engineer with a strong performance and debugging mindset, excellent mental models for complex systems, and a deep curiosity for infrastructure and open-source software.
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on building and operating backend systems in a production environment.
Deep backend engineering experience and proficiency in Python.
A systematic, first-principles approach to problem-solving, with comfort navigating and debugging in Linux environments (e.g., understanding process scheduling, memory management, file systems).
Solid grasp of database internals, such as query execution engines, storage layers, indexing strategies, and transaction management.
Excellent communication skills and a sense of ownership, with the ability to balance technical depth with fast, iterative delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
A background in data warehousing, data engineering, or analytics engineering.
Professional experience writing production code in Go or Rust.
Experience contributing to or maintaining a popular open-source project.
Experience building compilers, interpreters, or developer tooling.
Familiarity with performance analysis tools like
perf
or
strace
.
The Team & Our Culture
You will join a small, high-trust team of senior and staff-level engineers who are passionate about building robust, well-crafted, and reliable software. We operate in a remote-first, asynchronous-friendly environment that values deep work, clear written communication, and a high degree of autonomy. We are deeply connected to our users and the open-source community, and we believe that the best solutions come from a rigorous, collaborative, and empathetic engineering process.

- RAG & Orchestration: You understand the nuances of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns, from embedding pipelines and hybrid search techniques to how query planning and metadata filtering can make or break an LLM's performance.
Technical
- Language Fluency: You are an expert in at least one major language like Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python.
- Infrastructure: Familiarity and experience with modern infrastructure tools, such as Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and observability frameworks, as well as infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
Ownership & Impact
- Product Thinking: You don't just build to spec; you build for the user. You can design clean, intuitive APIs that both human developers and autonomous agents will love.
- Ambiguity Navigator: You’re comfortable in a high-growth environment. You prefer "owning a problem" over "executing a ticket."
Bonus Points
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Experience with retrieval evaluation frameworks—knowing how to actually measure "good" search results.
- Experience with query planning or agentic reasoning loops (e.g., teaching a system how to break down a complex prompt into multiple specific steps).
Perks & Benefits:
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, and mental health resources
- 401(k) Plan
- Equity award
- Flexible time off
- Paid parental leave
- Annual Company Retreat
- WFH Equipment Stipend

Notion is rebuilding its go-to-market motion around a workflow-first, builder-led model—and the BDR is at the front of it. As a Business Development Rep, you'll be the force that turns the right accounts into the right conversations. You'll partner closely with Solutions Consultants to identify and target companies that are ready to rethink how they work—and your job is to get them in the room. This isn't generic pipeline work: you're qualifying for workflow-first, build-ready opportunities that set SCs up to win. If you're competitive, curious, and energized by outbound that actually means something, this is the role for you.
This role is based in Dublin, Ireland. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Generate qualified, workflow-first pipeline by identifying and targeting high-potential accounts in your assigned book, partnering with your sellers on account and outbound strategy
- Run multi-channel outbound campaigns—email, phone, LinkedIn, and events—to create urgency and secure first meetings with the right decision-makers
- Conduct initial qualification to ensure meetings handed to sellers are "ready to build," not just "ready to talk"—validating ICP, intent, and workflow fit before the handoff
- Document and deliver clean handoff packets in Salesforce with ICP signals, pain points, workflow hypothesis, and stakeholder context so sellers can hit the ground running
- Leverage GTM System tooling and intent data to sharpen targeting, prioritize accounts by signal strength, and increase the quality and consistency of your outbound motion
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Proven track record in outbound pipeline generation, with hands-on experience in cold prospecting across phone, email, and social channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, persona-specific outreach that earns a response
- Sharp qualification instincts—able to quickly assess ICP fit, identify urgency, and set solutions consultants up for high-quality first conversations
- Passion for AI/ML and understanding of API-first or consumption-based business models
- High-activity mindset with the discipline to prioritize based on signal and data, not just volume
- You don't need to be an AI expert, but you're curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience with Salesforce, Outreach, or similar GTM tooling
- Familiarity with Notion as a product or prior experience selling productivity, collaboration, or workflow software
- Background in a high-velocity, metric-driven outbound environment with clear pipeline targets
- Fluency in Swedish or Norwegian

About the Role
Looking to join a world-class blockchain development team? Ava Labs makes it simple to deploy high-performance solutions for Web3, led by innovations on Avalanche. The company was founded by Cornell computer scientists, who partnered with Wall Street veterans and early Web3 leaders to execute a promising vision for redefining the way people build permissionless networks. Ava Labs is redefining the way people create value with Web3. Join us as we empower people to easily and freely digitize all the world’s assets on one open, programmable blockchain platform. We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Platform Engineering Group. This team is responsible for maintaining and advancing the Avalanche blockchain and its ecosystem.
Ava Labs is hiring a Staff Engineer into the Platform Engineering Group to serve as a full-time maintainer of AvalancheGo and the technical anchor for the node domain: consensus, peer-to-peer networking, state sync, the VM plugin interface, and the node's integration with the C-Chain EVM (coreth and libevm). This is a hands-on role that requires an Architect/Solver build, with tech lead responsibilities during coordinated network upgrades. You will own the health of the codebase, set the technical direction of the domain across the teams that build on it, and multiply the effectiveness of the engineers around you.
What You Will Do
- Own AvalancheGo as its maintainer: Maintain and advance the software powering the Avalanche network, as well as its environments. Manage contributions from both the team and the community in a fair, effective, and thoughtful manner. You hold the merge bar for network-critical code; assess contributions from the team and the community fairly and quickly, and steward backwards compatibility for the node operators and Avalanche L1 builders downstream of every release. Your review will be the last gate before code reaches every validator.
- Set and enforce engineering standards. Define what production quality means for the team.
- Design, build, and advance Avalanche’s critical systems. You’ll be contributing directly to the critical systems in the Avalanche network: consensus, networking (P2P), state management and sync, the VM interface, and performance of both the network nodes and their EVM integrations.
- Champion reliability and production readiness. Establish observability standards (structured logging, metrics, tracing, profiling), define SLOs for node performance, and lead incident review and postmortem culture for network incidents.
- Raise and define release quality. Own the engineering lifecycle for network-critical code: versioning and upgrade coordination, backward compatibility, staged rollouts across test networks, and hard test quality metrics (unit, property, fuzz, race-detection, and end-to-end network tests) before anything ships.
- Mentorship. Mentor senior engineers into larger scope, run design reviews that measurably change outcomes, and spread your context deliberately so the team can onboard, operate, and extend the node without you.Turn a team of individual contributors into a team with shared standards, shared context, and a high quality ceiling. Becoming a single point of failure is a failure mode of this role, and you will be expected to resist it.
- Evangelize the project within the org: Write ADRs, release notes, and technical communications; engage external contributors; and model what a great open source citizen looks like.
- Drive protocol direction through the ACP process. You originate and champion Avalanche Community Proposals, represent the node's constraints in protocol design conversations, and position AvalancheGo for upgrades before they activate on Fuji and Mainnet. Your bets play out over 6 to 18 months.
What Makes You a Good Fit
- A self-starter with insatiable curiosity combined with being comfortable diving into someone else’s code to understand how it works. You treat the code as the source of truth and are able to discern nuances from there.
- Meticulous attention to detail and an appreciation for clean, maintainable code. You create software as much for the end user as for the love of the craft.
- You believe in growing a culture of excellence. As a Staff Engineer you will set the definition for development standards among your team, as well as cultivating the quality you want to see in the developers you work with.
- You understand what makes a great open source project great. Not just in terms of code quality, but in terms of its ecosystem, its community, and its contributors
- You have operated at Staff scope before, irrespective of whatever your title said. You can point to a workstream you created rather than inherited, one that other teams came to depend on, and to the case you built to get it funded.
- You influence without authority. You have driven technical direction across teams that did not report to you, through alignment and credibility rather than escalation, and engineers from those teams would vouch for it.
- You treat the code as the source of truth. You are comfortable diving into a large unfamiliar codebase, discerning its nuances from the source, and making impactful contributions within weeks.
- You know what makes a great open source project great: the code quality, and equally the review culture, the contributor experience, and the trust of the ecosystem that depends on it. You have been on the maintainer side of that relationship.
- You hold a high bar and make it stick. You have set standards that other engineers actually follow, pushed back when work below the bar tried to land, and done it in a way that made people want to work with you rather than around you.
- You still do the unglamorous work visibly. Reviews, on-call, migrations, and documentation remain part of the job at this level, and you treat them as the job rather than a distraction from it.
This Role Is Not for You If
- You want to write smart contracts or build dapps. This is node and protocol engineering, several layers down.
- You want a purely advisory position.
- You consider reviews, on-call, migrations, and documentation to be beneath the level. They remain part of the job, done visibly.
- You are uncomfortable working in public. Your code, your reviews, your design docs, and occasionally your mistakes will be visible to the entire ecosystem.
What You Will Bring
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years operating at a staff/lead level (or clearly performing at that scope), with a track record of raising team-wide engineering quality.
- Expert-level Go: deep fluency with the concurrency model (goroutines, channels, the race detector), profiling and performance tuning (pprof, benchmarks), module and dependency management, and idiomatic API design in large codebases.
- Significant open source experience - maintainer or sustained core contributor on a widely used project, with a public record of reviews, RFCs/design docs, and community engagement (a GitHub profile we can read is worth more than any bullet on a resume).
- Proven production experience designing, shipping, and operating distributed systems at scale: consensus or replication, P2P networking, state synchronization, or comparable high-availability systems.
- Strong testing discipline across the pyramid: unit, property-based/fuzz, integration, and end-to-end network testing, plus experience building CI that enforces it (GitHub Actions preferred).
- Experience with release engineering for software users self-host and cannot be force-upgraded: semantic versioning, backward compatibility, migration paths, and coordinated network upgrades.
- Working fluency with Linux-based infrastructure, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalent).
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
(**This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.)

WHO WE ARE
Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkpYpWfEK5s.
- You don't need to be an AI expert, but you have a strong interest in the evolving AI landscape, stay closely attuned to industry trends and developments, and are curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results.
- Native or bilingual level fluency Japanese and business-level English proficiency across speaking, listening, and reading, including the ability to support team members with global communication
A NOTE ON AI
You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS
We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. Notion is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. Consistent with applicable law, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. Notion provides reasonable accommodations during the application process; if you need one, please let your recruiter know.
Notion is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Notion considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. Notion is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, please let your recruiter know.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic runs some of the largest AI training and inference workloads in the world, across multiple hardware platforms. We work from the chip level up with our silicon partners, and we are now deepening that investment by building a custom silicon team.
You will be one of a small number of people covering a large surface. We are opening searches across the key domains below, and we are interested in candidates whose center of gravity sits in any of them:
Front-end design
Pre-silicon verification
Physical design
Design for test
Analog and mixed-signal
Technology and foundry
CAD and design infrastructure
Packaging, signal integrity, and power integrity
This is a role for someone who has shipped silicon, has a realistic relationship with schedules, and is comfortable making consequential calls without a large organization behind them.
Key responsibilities
Take part in end to end activities for the program: strategy, specification, execution and the technical bar.
Write the specifications and interface definitions that others design against and keep them coherent as the architecture converges
Make and own directional calls: technology and IP selection, where we build versus buy versus license, and where we take design authority versus rely on partners
Build and share AI-assisted approaches to the code-like parts of your domain, and help the team learn what Claude can genuinely accelerate
Contribute to the architecture and micro-architecture discussion from your domain's perspective, including the tradeoffs your area imposes on the rest of the chip
Partner with Anthropic's inference, performance, kernels, and infrastructure teams on hardware-software co-design, and with our hardware systems team on bring-up and integration
Support first-silicon bring-up and debug when it arrives, regardless of which domain you came in through
Minimum qualifications
Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one silicon domain: front-end design, pre-silicon verification, physical design, design for test, analog and mixed-signal, technology and foundry, design infrastructure, or packaging and signal/power integrity
Direct personal contribution to silicon that taped out and shipped, with ownership you can speak to in detail
Working fluency in the domains adjacent to your own, sufficient to reason about chip-level tradeoffs outside your specialty
Experience working with external partners — ASIC houses, IP vendors, foundries, or test partners — including reviewing their work and holding a technical bar
Track record of owning directional technical decisions and their consequences, not only making recommendations
Practical experience using AI coding tools in your own work, and clear ideas about where they help and where they do not
Clear written and verbal communication, and experience driving alignment across teams and organizations
Comfort operating with high autonomy and little scaffolding on a highly dynamic program
Preferred qualifications
Experience on machine learning accelerators, high-performance compute, or other large, high-bandwidth designs
Experience on a founding or early-stage silicon team, including standing up flows, methodology, or tooling from nothing
Experience with both partner-executed and fully in-house programs, and a view on the tradeoffs between them
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and the tradeoffs that cross it
Experience with hardware-software co-design and working directly with compiler, kernel, or runtime teams
Experience building or extending AI-assisted design, verification, or physical design flows
Depth in memory subsystems, on-die interconnect, numerics, or low-power design
Representative projects
Writing the specification for a compute datapath and defending its numeric format strategy against the alternatives
Standing up front-end flows and release management from scratch, then handing releases to an ASIC partner on a fixed cadence
Running fast in-house place-and-route loops on a critical block and feeding PPA reality back into the architecture
Selecting and qualifying PHY IP, then validating it on first silicon
Building a formal verification methodology for a new block and deciding where formal earns its keep versus simulation
Defining test strategy and the automated-test-equipment handoff interface with our partner
Prototyping a Claude-assisted workflow for RTL review, coverage triage, or specification consistency checking, and reporting honestly on what it did and did not do
Debugging a first-silicon failure that crosses your domain and someone else's
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!

Anthropic trains and serves frontier AI models on some of the largest and most diverse accelerator fleets in the world, and the hardware those models run on is one of the most direct levers we have on capability, cost, and reliability. Our Hardware Systems team owns the system-level architecture of that compute — from the package boundary out through boards, racks, interconnect, power, cooling, and the datacenter interface.
We're hiring senior hardware systems architects and technical leads who can work broadly across the hardware stack and go deep where it's needed, and who have the judgment to make and own directional calls — what to build, what to buy, what to co-design with a partner. You'll set architecture, write the specs that partners and internal teams build against, and own the validation and qualification strategy that proves the result.
The skillsets we need span power, cooling, mechanical, interconnect, signal integrity, data and control plane, system management, reliability and serviceability — applied across networking, compute, storage, and accelerator systems.
You'll work closely with our ML performance, infrastructure software, supply chain, and datacenter teams, and directly with hardware vendors and partners across the stack. And because this is Anthropic, you'll have Claude as a genuine collaborator — we expect this team to push on what AI-assisted hardware design and review can look like.
Key responsibilities
Own system path-finding and architecture for your domain across the breadth of compute Anthropic deploys — from concept and requirements through spec, design review, and deployment — and act as a reviewer and thought partner across the others.
Write and own high-level requirements and specifications — system, board, interface, rack — that partners and internal teams build against.
Review partner and vendor designs against our requirements, make the build / buy / co-design calls with supply chain and partnership teams, and surface misalignment or schedule risk early enough to act on it.
Drive the interconnect and networking architecture that ties our systems together — scale-up and scale-out fabrics, NICs and switches, optics, and topology.
Drive board-, chassis-, and system-level architecture with our partners — major component placement, PCB architecture, connector and cable design, and power and thermal budgeting — at the chassis, rack, and data-hall level.
Develop performance simulations, hardware models, and "what-if" scenarios to evaluate and choose between candidate hardware architectures.
Define validation, bring-up, and qualification strategy for new platforms — including the telemetry and reliability targets they need to hit in the fleet — and track the technology roadmaps and vendor landscape that shape what we deploy in the short and long term.
Partner with ML performance and infrastructure software teams so hardware decisions land well for the workloads that actually run on them.
Help shape how hardware engineering operates at Anthropic — develop and apply AI-assisted approaches to design, spec review, and validation; establish review forums, spec standards, and partner engagement.
Minimum qualifications
Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one core hardware-systems domain (e.g., interconnect, power, thermal) for large-scale compute or networking systems.
Experience owning hardware system architecture at scale — machine, rack, row, and cluster — and authoring specifications and requirements.
Experience taking hardware from architecture through bring-up and high-volume production deployment.
Experience working with external hardware vendors and partners — reviewing their designs and holding them to a specification.
Ability to reason about trade-offs across adjacent hardware domains (e.g., interconnect ↔ power ↔ thermal ↔ mechanical) rather than within a single one.
Track record of technical leadership — owning directional decisions and their consequences, and driving alignment across teams and partners.
Comfort operating with high autonomy and limited process in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
Strong written communication — you'll write specs and reviews that many teams depend on.
Preferred qualifications
8+ years in hardware systems architecture or engineering for hyperscale, HPC, AI/ML, or high-end networking platforms.
Experience with AI accelerator systems (GPU, TPU, or other custom ASIC platforms) and their scale-up / scale-out fabrics.
Familiarity with the chip-package-system interface and co-design.
Experience establishing a new function, program, or engineering practice.
Comfort working with — and curiosity about pushing — AI tools as part of an engineering workflow.
Degree in EE, CE, ME, CS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Depth in one or more of:
High-speed SerDes, PCIe/CXL, Ethernet/InfiniBand, and optical interconnect.
BMC and platform firmware, hardware root of trust, and secure boot.
48V/HVDC power delivery and direct liquid cooling.
Fleet-scale reliability engineering and RAS architecture.
Signal and power integrity.
Representative projects
Define the scale-up and scale-out interconnect architecture for a next-generation training platform, from link budget and topology through switch / NIC / optics selection and the bring-up and validation plan.
Architect the management and control plane for a new hardware system: BMC and host control, power / reset sequencing, secure boot and attestation, and the telemetry surface the fleet needs.
Own the rack-level power and thermal architecture for a liquid-cooled accelerator rack, and the interface spec between that rack and the datacenter that hosts it.
Build the reliability model and RAS strategy for a multi-thousand-node fleet — failure budgets, derating policy, telemetry requirements, and serviceability targets — and drive the design changes that hit them.
Run the technical evaluation of a partner's proposed system design against our requirements, write up where it falls short, and drive the changes end to end.
Prototype an AI-assisted workflow for partner design review and spec consistency checking, and put it to work on a live platform.

THE ROLE
The Transaction Monitoring (TM) Compliance Manager is a specialized financial crime risk and regulatory oversight role within the Second Line of Defence (2LoD) Financial Crime Compliance department. The successful candidate is responsible for providing independent oversight, objective evaluation, and compliance challenges regarding the efficacy of the firm's Transaction Monitoring framework.
Acting as a Second Line Subject Matter Expert (SME), the individual defines the regulatory envelope, assesses TM risk coverage, and reviews the governance, methodologies, and documentation underpinning detection mechanisms. This role does not own control execution or technical solution design; instead, it provides independent assurance to ensure that the firm’s monitoring practices remain aligned with defined risk appetite, internal policies, and global regulatory expectations (AML/CTF/CPF).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance Oversight in Risk Assessment & Horizon Scanning
- Independent Review: Lead the ongoing 2LoD evaluation and challenge of the Compliance Risk Assessments (including EWRA and Product Risk Assessments) to ensure they accurately reflect current transaction data, typologies, and product utilization trends.
- Regulatory Surveying & Horizon Scanning: Proactively monitor, survey, and analyze shifts in the global regulatory landscape, financial crime trends, and regulatory enforcement actions to ensure the firm's TM Compliance risk assessment framework remains comprehensive and defensible.
- Gap Assurance: Evaluate the mapping of financial crime typologies against active transaction monitoring coverage to independently identify and escalate potential tracking gaps to senior management.
2. Independent Compliance Challenge & Assurance Framework
- Segmentation & Calibration Challenge: Provide independent, 2LoD challenge to data-driven customer segmentation methodologies executed by the First Line (1LoD), verifying alignment with merchant risk profiles.
- Compliance Oversight in Tuning & Optimization: Review and evaluate the methodologies, statistical testing parameters, and documentation for periodic "Below-the-Line" (BTL) and "Above-the-Line" (ATL) testing performed by the First Line to ensure robust governance.
- Residual Risk Opining: Formulate independent compliance opinions regarding residual risk acceptance, providing formal advisory input to governance forums and the Global MLROs.
3. Governance, Risk, & Reporting
- Model Risk Governance: Participate in the compliance review of TM systems and model validation exercises, independently assessing the transparency, logic, and regulatory defensibility of detection models against applicable guidance (e.g., FCA guidance on model risk management).
- Strategic Alignment: Provide regulatory compliance support to the Head of TM to assist in aligning roadmap initiatives with the compliance maturity framework.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with cross-functional stakeholders across lines of defense to communicate compliance requirements and support the adherence to established TM standards.
- Governance & Escalation Paths: Support the enhancement of the TM compliance governance framework to facilitate the structured, independent escalation of risk metrics to senior management.
- Metrics & KRI Oversight: Assist in the production of 2LoD Management Information (MI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to track the effectiveness of the compliance oversight posture for the Head of TM and Global MLRO.
3. Data Integrity & Alert Lifecycle Assurance
- Data Lineage Assurance: Review documentation regarding data lineage, integrity, and completeness for feeds ingested into the monitoring architecture to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lifecycle Evaluation: Evaluate the end-to-end alert workflow governance, risk scoring frameworks, and prioritization mechanics to ensure high-risk alerts adhere to compliant escalation paths.
- Feedback Loops: Analyze high-level alert outcomes and disposition trends to provide compliance feedback loops to technical teams, supporting iterative improvements in the quality of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience: Typically 5+ years of experience within Financial Crime Compliance, with a specific focus on the independent oversight, assurance, or evaluation of Transaction Monitoring frameworks within a regulated PSP, FinTech, or financial institution.
- 2LoD Competency: Proven experience operating within a Second Line of Defence capacity, demonstrating the ability to independently challenge technical teams, data models, and threshold tuning documentation objectively.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UK Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs), JMLSG Guidance, and international FATF standards.
- Systems & Data Literacy: Familiarity with data analysis methodologies, data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau), or basic query languages (e.g., SQL) sufficient to independently evaluate data testing outputs, methodologies, and audit trails.
- Education & Professional Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Criminology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Professional certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., ICA International Diploma in AML, ACAMS) are highly regarded.
