Wealthsimple currently serves more than 4 million Canadians and holds over $155 billion in assets under administration. The company was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs, and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/culture and learn more about how we work https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/careers.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Finance team is where numbers become decisions. We partner closely with business leaders across the company to make sure Wealthsimple is allocating resources wisely, hitting its targets, and building toward long-term sustainability. Within Finance, the Tax team is responsible for managing Wealthsimple's tax profiles across a growing number of legal entities and products — balancing tax law compliance while enabling business strategy. We're a small, high-trust team embedded in the business, and we hold ourselves to a high bar for both rigour and clarity.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Manager, Transfer Pricing & International Tax to join our growing Tax team and take ownership of the company’s transfer pricing framework.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys combining technical tax expertise with practical business partnership. You will lead transfer pricing policy, documentation, compliance audit and advisory work across the group, while partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, FP&A and business teams.
The role is primarily focused on transfer pricing, with an opportunity to support broader international tax matters if/when the company expands into new markets in future.
You will have the opportunity to help build a scalable transfer pricing function in a fast-growing fintech environment, including establishing processes, controls and documentation that support continued growth and future IPO readiness.
IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Own, update and maintain the group’s transfer pricing framework, policies and governance processes, including the contemporaneous documentation. Ensure they remain aligned with the group’s actual functions, assets and risks.
- Lead the preparation and review of Canadian and international transfer pricing documentation, including local files, master files and supporting analyses, as applicable.
- Develop scalable transfer pricing processes, controls and governance appropriate for a growing organization.
- Identify opportunities to automate transfer pricing calculations, data collection and reporting.
- Lead transfer pricing analysis for intercompany services, technology and IP arrangements, financing, guarantees, cost allocations and other related-party transactions.
- Assess appropriate transfer pricing methodologies and oversee benchmarking and economic analyses.
- Manage transfer pricing calculations, data requirements and processes
- Monitor intercompany transactions and identify gaps between transfer pricing policies, agreements and actual activity.
- Review and/or design intercompany agreements and supporting documentation.
- Monitor changes in the business and proactively identify transfer pricing implications of new products, entities, jurisdictions and changes to operating models.
- For any special projects, manage external advisors and ensure deliverables are technically sound and commercially practical.
- Support transfer pricing audits, tax authority inquiries and controversy matters.
- Build relationships across the organization and proactively identify tax considerations before business decisions are finalized.
- Support the Tax team with international tax matters as the company expands its footprint.
- Monitor developments in international tax rules, including bilateral tax treaties and OECD initiatives, and assess potential impacts on the business.
SKILLS YOU’LL BRING:
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in transfer pricing, international tax or tax advisory.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian transfer pricing rules and OECD transfer pricing principles.
- Experience with Canadian transfer pricing documentation, T106 and T1134 reporting.
- Experience with intercompany transactions and multinational or cross-border operating models.
- Strong understanding of transfer pricing methodologies and economic benchmarking.
- Experience managing transfer pricing projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex transactions and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tax matters to non-tax stakeholders, and translate complex transfer pricing concepts into clear, practical recommendations.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA, CA, LL.M. or another relevant professional designation is an asset.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in fintech, financial services, technology or another rapidly growing industry.
- U.S. tax or other international transfer pricing experience.
- Experience with intercompany financing and guarantee arrangements.
- Experience with technology, intellectual property or centralized service arrangements.
- Experience with transfer pricing audits or tax controversy.
- Experience with tax technology, automation or data analytics.
WHY JOIN US?
This is an opportunity to join a high-growth fintech at an exciting stage of its evolution and help build the transfer pricing function rather than simply maintain an established model.
You’ll work on cross-border transactions, innovative financial products and evolving business models while partnering with stakeholders across Tax, Finance, Treasury and the broader organization.
The role offers significant opportunity to grow with the company, with the potential to take on broader international tax responsibilities as the business expands internationally.
If you’re a transfer pricing professional who enjoys solving complex problems, building scalable processes and partnering with the business, we’d love to hear from you.

About Finom
Finom is a European tech startup headquartered in Amsterdam, and we’re on a journey towards revolutionizing the financial landscape for entrepreneurs worldwide. Our mission is to develop an all-in-one financial B2B solution that integrates banking functions, accounting, financial management, and invoicing into a seamless, mobile-first platform.
We recently closed a €115 million Series C equity round (around $133 million), bringing our total funding to approximately $346 million. This significant investment follows a $105 million growth funding round from General Catalyst, a long-term backer since 2021 known for supporting companies like Airbnb, HubSpot, KAYAK, and Stripe.
Finom's platform goes beyond traditional banking, offering invoicing and a growing suite of features, including AI-enabled accounting, aiming to simplify financial management for entrepreneurs. We're actively expanding our reach across key EU markets like Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain.
At Finom, we’re not just redefining the entrepreneurial experience — we’re empowering our employees to make a real difference. Your work matters, and your impact extends far beyond product metrics. We nurture innovation and an inspiring work environment where bold ideas thrive, prioritizing thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and our business as a whole.
Maintaining our start-up spirit, we prioritize thorough research, swift implementation of solutions, and ensuring that every effort we make benefits our users, employees, partners, and, of course, our business.
About the role
Finom builds HR the way we build products — with roadmaps, customers, and measurable outcomes instead of ad hoc admin. We're looking for a People Product Associate to help us apply that thinking across the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
This role has two sides that need to live in the same person: someone who can sit with the data, the workflows, and the automation in the background — and someone who can step back and ask "what does this actually feel like for the employee going through it?" You'll gather feedback, run surveys, and use what you learn to shape what gets built next, then go build it yourself.
You'll work closely with the People Product Manager, owning execution on the tools and processes that make our HR experience feel designed rather than accidental.
What you'll be doing
Employee lifecycle products
— Build and improve the tools and processes behind every stage of the employee journey: onboarding, performance cycles, internal mobility, promotions, engagement surveys, offboarding etc.
Employee experience & feedback
— Design and run surveys, gather qualitative feedback from employees and managers, and turn what you hear into concrete product improvements.
Automation & workflow design
— Build internal automations (Google Apps Script, n8n) that connect Slack, Notion, and our HR systems, reducing manual work for HR and managers alike.
AI-assisted building
— Use AI tools (Claude and similar) to prototype and ship people products faster — from building a working tool from a rough idea to automating a process end to end.
Workflow ownership
— Work hands-on, keeping data, workflows, and configuration clean and reliable as our processes evolve.
Documentation
— Keep our Notion space current and genuinely useful for managers and our HR team to self-serve from.
What we're looking for
A product mindset:
curious about
why
a process exists and what it should feel like for the person on the other end of it, not just
how
to execute it
Ability to interpret data:
comfortable turning data and feedback into insights, identifying patterns, and using them to inform decisions and improve processes
Experience building live products from scratch:
hands-on experience taking an idea from concept to a working product, including using AI-assisted development tools to build, test, iterate, and launch
Comfortable with Google Apps Script and n8n
— you've built and maintained real automations, not just used pre-built ones
Comfortable with AI tools like Claude
, and genuinely hungry to keep learning new ones — you see AI as a way to build faster, not a novelty
Customer centricity mindset:
naturally starts from the needs and experience of the end user, actively seeks to understand pain points, and designs solutions that are simple, intuitive, and genuinely useful
Employee feedback experience:
experience designing and running employee feedback loops, including surveys, pulse checks, structured feedback collection, and translating feedback into concrete improvements
What success looks like
You're equally comfortable being the person quietly making a workflow run in the background and the person in front of employees asking what's actually working for them — and you know how to turn one into the other.

AI Process Owner — Transaction Monitoring & Customer Lifecycle
Team: AFC Product Operations
Focus: Transaction Monitoring — AI alert resolution
Scope: Dedicated to AI automation of the transaction monitoring programme within 1LoD, with scope to extend across the customer lifecycle over time
At Finom, AI is not just a buzzword. It runs through every element of how we work, and we are implementing it in production, in real processes, with real decisions behind it, with operational teams in the leading role to build AI operational processes.
About the role
This position sits in our Customer Lifecycle team — the team that monitors the customer from the moment their account is opened at Finom and throughout their entire life with us. That remit covers transaction monitoring, regular (periodic) reviews and general ongoing customer monitoring.
This role is specifically focused on transaction monitoring alert resolution, with the possibility to extend scope across the wider customer lifecycle in future, depending on your experience and your success in the position.
The role is a full dedication to projects that automate elements of our transaction monitoring programme using AI. Concretely, that means three things:
Designing and implementing AI-driven alert resolution — moving work that analysts do manually today into AI-supported and AI-executed flows.
Supporting analysts through the transition from manual investigation to AI output validation and model validation — a genuine change in what the job of an analyst looks like.
Building AI agents that replace manual work end to end, and defining where an agent can act and where a human must.
You will be the person who understands both sides of the equation: what a solid AML framework requires, and what AI can realistically and defensibly do inside that framework. Knowing where the limits are matters as much as knowing what is possible.
Key responsibilities
Own AI implementation for transaction monitoring alert resolution — from identifying the highest-value manual steps, to specifying the solution, to running it in production.
Understand the alert resolution process from pick up to false positive, true positive, or offboarding.
Build AI-driven investigation capability — AI-supported investigation of customers, of suspicious transactions, and of behavioural and network patterns across our customer base.
Build and iterate on AI agents that take over manual analyst work, with clear boundaries, escalation logic and audit trails.
Redesign the alert resolution process around AI: what is automated, what is validated, what stays fully human, and how quality is evidenced.
Define the AI/AML boundary — where AI can be used within a transaction monitoring framework, where it cannot, and how we document and defend that position to 2nd Line risk management, audit and regulators.
Support and upskill analysts through the transition to model and output validation, including guidance, training and new working procedures.
Work hands-on with data — analyse alert and customer data to find inefficiency, false-positive drivers and automation opportunities, and to measure whether changes actually worked.
Partner with technical teams and stakeholders — AI team, Data, Engineering, Product, risk management — translating operational and AML needs into technical requirements, and technical constraints back into operational reality.
Keep the customer in view — every alert, freeze, request for information and delay lands on a real customer. Efficiency gains should improve, not degrade, the customer experience.
Own documentation and process ownership — procedures, decision logic, model rationale and controls kept to audit standard.
Key metrics
Your success will be measured on the efficiency and optimisation of the process, including:
Reduction in manual handling time per alert (cycle time) and in overall alert backlog.
Share of alerts resolved or pre-processed by AI, at maintained or improved quality.
Quality and defensibility of AI-assisted decisions — measured through QA, validation sampling and audit outcomes.
Analyst capacity released
Customer-facing impact: fewer unnecessary touchpoints, faster resolution
About you
3+ years of experience in a fintech, bank, EMI or PSP environment, in transaction monitoring and AML.
Hands-on experience in first line of defence alert resolution — you have worked alerts yourself and know what makes them slow, noisy or hard to close.
Solid understanding of AML frameworks and, critically, how to apply them to resolve alerts in practice rather than in theory.
Genuinely AI-oriented — you already use AI across your own work and have experience implementing AI in projects, not just experimenting with it.
Clear view of the limits of AI within a transaction monitoring framework — what can be automated, what needs human judgement, and what regulators and auditors will accept.
Technically minded with strong data analysis skills. Comfortable working with data tools such as Databricks, Metabase and Power BI; SQL is a real advantage.
Customer-minded — you treat customer impact as a first-order consideration, not a side effect.
Structured, pragmatic and comfortable owning a process end to end in a fast-moving environment.
Professional fluency in English.
Nice to have
Experience building or deploying AI agents or LLM-based workflows in a regulated or operational setting.
Exposure to model validation, model risk management or AI governance
Experience with transaction monitoring vendor systems and rule tuning / threshold optimisation.
Background in periodic reviews, KYC/CDD or ongoing customer due diligence — relevant if the scope extends across the customer lifecycle.
Experience with SAR/STR reporting
Python or similar for data work and prototyping.
What's in it for you
A rare combination: a real AML mandate and a real AI mandate in the same role. You are not advising on automation from the sidelines — you are building it and owning the outcome.
Genuine ownership. This is a process owner role: the decisions on how transaction monitoring works sit with you.
Visible impact from day one, on a programme that directly affects both our regulatory standing and thousands of customers' experience.
Room to grow — scope can expand across the wider customer lifecycle as you deliver.
Direct collaboration with Compliance, Risk, Data, Product and Engineering leadership in a fast-scaling European fintech.
International, remote-friendly team and a culture that rewards initiative over process for its own sake.

BUILD SOMETHING PEOPLE LOVE
Wealthsimple is Canada’s leading financial innovator. The company offers a full suite of simple, sophisticated financial products across managed investing, do-it-yourself trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, spending and saving.
We build the products and infrastructure that millions of Canadians trust with their financial lives. Data & Engineering at Wealthsimple spans everything from the client-facing apps to the systems running underneath them — and we hold ourselves to a high bar on both. We move fast, but we build thoughtfully: quality, security, and scalability aren’t trade-offs here, they’re the standard.
The Production Engineering team sits within Platform Experience, on the boundary between Platform and Product. Our mandate is to raise reliability across Wealthsimple’s most critical flows — reducing incidents, helping service teams ship safely, and turning individual fixes into platform-wide improvements. We measure ourselves against two targets: 99.9% uptime on critical flows, and fewer than 1% of weekly active users experiencing errors in the app. If you want to work on hard problems with people who care deeply about craft, you’ll fit right in.
About the role
This is a new role — one that doesn’t yet exist at Wealthsimple — and it’s a meaningful one. As a Staff Software Developer on Production Engineering, you’ll bring senior technical leadership to the work of making Wealthsimple more reliable at scale. You’ll work across platform and product teams, identify the highest-leverage reliability problems, and build solutions that don’t just fix the immediate issue but raise the floor for everyone. This isn’t a role where you sit in one corner of the codebase. It’s a role where you shape how engineering gets done across the company.
What you’ll do
- Improve the platform to prevent incidents — designing and driving adoption of guardrails, sensible defaults, and engineering standards that reduce the likelihood of failures across services
- Build tooling that reduces time to mitigation when incidents occur, including contributing to our in-house product on AI-assisted incident response
- Own the investigation and follow-through on load test findings — translating results into concrete reliability improvements across critical flows
- Work across platform and product engineering teams as a technical influencer — participating in architecture and readiness reviews, coaching service owners, and driving adoption of scalable reliability practices
- Identify recurring failure patterns and design platform-level fixes that prevent them from showing up again in a different service
- Contribute to the team’s reliability syncs with product engineering, helping align on incident themes, critical-flow risks, and the next highest-leverage initiatives
Skills you bring
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time in platform, infrastructure, or SRE work
- Demonstrated track record of improving reliability at scale — reducing incidents, building guardrails, or driving operational standards across multiple teams
- Strong proficiency in backend systems and distributed architecture; you can diagnose complex failure modes across a service mesh
- Experience with load testing and capacity planning, and the ability to translate findings into concrete engineering improvements
- Proven ability to work across engineering teams as a technical influencer — driving adoption of standards and practices without direct authority
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Helm, Argo and modern deployment tooling
- Strong written and verbal communication — comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to both engineering teams and senior leadership
Who you are
- You think in systems — you’re not looking for the fix, you’re looking for what caused the problem and how to make sure it doesn’t happen elsewhere
- You’re comfortable working without direct authority; you build credibility through the quality of your thinking and the clarity of your recommendations
- You hold a high bar for operational excellence without making it someone else’s problem to catch up to — you bring people along
- You’re energised by ambiguity, not slowed down by it; you know how to prioritise when everything feels urgent
- You’re curious about where AI-assisted tooling is headed in reliability engineering, and you want to help shape how we use it — not just observe it from a distance

Who we are: Action1 is an autonomous endpoint management platform trusted by thousands of organizations, including many Fortune 500 companies. Cloud-native, infinitely scalable, highly secure, and configurable in 5 minutes—it just works and is always free for the first 200 endpoints, with no functional limits. By pioneering autonomous OS and third-party patching with peer-to-peer patch distribution and real-time vulnerability assessment without needing a VPN, it eliminates routine labor, preempts ransomware and security risks, and protects the digital employee experience. In 2025, Action1 was recognized by Inc. 5000 as the fastest-growing private software company in America. The company is founder-led by Alex Vovk and Mike Walters, American entrepreneurs who previously founded Netwrix, a multi-billion-dollar cybersecurity company.
Introduction: Action1 is transforming endpoint security for modern IT teams. As we continue our evolution from SMB to enterprise, we are hiring a high-performing Account Executive to drive complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles across mid-market and enterprise organizations in the United States. This is a quota-carrying, full-cycle role focused on landing and expanding mid-market and enterprise accounts. You will engage directly with IT Directors, Security Leaders, Infrastructure teams, and executive stakeholders to position Action1’s patch management and endpoint security platform as a strategic solution. We’re looking for someone who understands how enterprise cybersecurity buying works — longer sales cycles, multiple decision-makers, technical validation, procurement navigation — and who thrives in a high-growth, remote-first SaaS environment. If you’ve successfully sold cybersecurity or adjacent IT solutions into enterprise accounts and enjoy building pipelines as much as closing, this role is for you.
What you'll do
Drive Mid-Market to Low-End Enterprise Revenue Growth: Own a defined territory and meet or exceed enterprise quota targets through disciplined pipeline generation and deal execution.
Manage the Full Sales Cycle: Lead opportunities from prospecting through close — including discovery, stakeholder mapping, value alignment, proof-of-concept coordination, negotiation, and contract execution.
Sell to IT & Security Leaders: Engage IT Managers, Directors of Infrastructure, CISOs, and technical buying committees with credibility and consultative expertise.
Build & Maintain Strong Pipeline Coverage: Generate pipeline through outbound prospecting, partner collaboration, and strategic account planning. Maintain disciplined forecasting and opportunity hygiene in Salesforce.
Navigate Complex Buying Processes: Manage multi-threaded sales cycles, security reviews, procurement workflows, and competitive displacement strategies.
Partner with Solutions Engineers: Collaborate closely with pre-sales/technical resources to ensure strong technical validation and alignment with customer requirements.
Execute Account Expansion Strategy: Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within enterprise customers to drive expansion revenue and long-term retention.
Stay Market-Aware: Maintain strong knowledge of cybersecurity trends, endpoint management landscape, and competitive positioning.
Operate with Ownership: Work independently in a remote-first environment while collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Channel, Customer Success, and Product teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner closely with marketing, product, and sales leadership to provide feedback from the field and refine messaging.
Requirements
3–7+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales experience in SaaS, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure solutions
Proven success in consistently owning deals with a minimum average of $30k value

Experience engaging IT buyers (IT Directors, SysAdmins, Security Leaders, Infrastructure teams)
Demonstrated ability to generate pipeline and close complex deals
Strong forecasting discipline and Salesforce hygiene
Experience navigating longer, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles
Excellent discovery and consultative selling skills
Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment
We are seeking candidates who can start as soon as possible due to business needs.
Bonus: SLED experience
Benefits
A collaborative environment encouraging you to own your domain and implement best practices
Stable income, benefits, flexible working hours, and opportunities for promotion.
Friendly and professional peers, eager to help and help you grow.
A multitude of interesting challenges and opportunities.

About the People Systems & Operations Team:
The People Systems and Operations team builds and operates the systems, workflows, and automations the business runs on. We manage every stage of the employee lifecycle and own the design and optimization of the processes behind it. We're accountable for the reliability, scale, and integrity of our People systems.
What you bring to the system:
- Configure and maintain Payroll: pay components, earnings and deductions, pay groups, period schedules, and payroll-related business processes
- Configure and maintain Absence: time-off plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and leave types
- Configure and maintain Time Tracking: time entry templates, validations, work calendars, and overtime calculations
- Configure and maintain Core HCM foundations: supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles and job/compensation structures, custom organizations, and worker data integrity

- Design, build, and maintain business process definitions in both domains, including condition rules, calculated fields, custom validations, routing and approval logic, and notifications
- Partner with the Payroll team to troubleshoot configuration-driven payroll issues, including gross-to-net discrepancies, retro calculations, and off-cycle errors — the Payroll team owns processing; you own the configuration behind it
- Bring a strong command of the Workday security model: role-based, user-based, and intersection security groups, domain security policies, business process security policies, and integration system users (ISUs), with sound judgment about when to leverage each as you configure and troubleshoot across domains
- Support security and data audits in partnership with the broader team, using Workday delivered and custom audit reports to analyze access patterns, remediate exceptions, and uphold segregation of duties
- Perform impact analysis before changes ship, including how HCM and security changes ripple into payroll, absence, and time data
What you bring to the business:
- Translate business requirements from our internal partners into scalable system design, and document configuration decisions as you go
- Build trusted relationships with partner teams, acting as a translator between technical configuration and business needs
- Support change management for system updates and new functionality: communicate what's changing and why, prepare documentation and enablement materials, and make sure changes land well with the people who use them
- Build and maintain advanced, matrix, and composite reports and dashboards; support mass data changes via EIB
- Configure alerts, scheduled reports, and report security so the right data reaches the right people automatically
- Triage and resolve day-to-day system issues, getting to root cause rather than patching symptoms
- Actively look for where AI and automation can strengthen how People Systems works, from testing, documentation, and requirements drafting to ticket triage and report generation, using Anthropic's own tools as part of your daily workflow
- Drive process automation and optimization opportunities with the broader People team and partner functions
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience as a Workday Business Systems Analyst, with demonstrated expertise in system configuration, testing, and implementation
- Workday Pro accreditations or Workday partner certifications in HCM, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking
- Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics, Extend, or advanced reporting beyond standard report writer
- Experience applying AI tools to HRIS or People operations work, or strong interest in building that muscle
- Have deep hands-on working knowledge of Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking (PATT) configuration and design, business process configuration, and Security
- Have hands-on working knowledge of Workday Core HCM
- Have worked in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and know how to flex between roles
- Possess strong technical skills including understanding of Workday architecture, security models, and integration methodologies
- Have experience with full lifecycle Workday implementations and/or significant module expansions
- Are intellectually curious, you ask "why" before "how," explore root causes rather than symptoms, and stay current on Workday and adjacent HR tech because you want to, not because you have to
- Approach problems with creativity, comfortable looking past the standard or obvious solution to find an answer that actually fits the business
- Treat HR data security and privacy as a non-negotiable foundation in everything you build and maintain
- Excel at building relationships and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
- Are detail-oriented with strong documentation skills and a commitment to process excellence
- Have a track record of managing multiple competing priorities, with a bias toward flexibility and impact
- Have a collaborative mindset and willingness to pick up slack even if it goes outside your job description

ABOUT THE OBSERVABILITY PLATFORM TEAM
The Observability Platform team exists to make production legible to every engineer and AI agent at Wealthsimple, on their first day and every day after. Every request, job, and user action produces a signal, and our job is to turn that signal into a fast, high-cardinality data asset that anyone can question. A business stakeholder investigating a drop in conversions, a service owner tracing a slow endpoint, an engineer validating a release, and an AI agent confirming its own change should all reach for the same data and get an answer in seconds.
We treat the platform as a product, and the engineers, service owners, and business stakeholders who depend on it as our partners. Our mission is to build the wide-event data model, the query foundation, and the golden paths that connect people to production data. We instrument on open standards such as OpenTelemetry so switching costs are a configuration change rather than a rewrite, and we optimize for the questions people did not anticipate rather than for pre-built dashboards.
As the founding Software Development Manager for this team, you will hire and lead the engineers who build this foundation, and set the technical vision that shapes how Wealthsimple understands its systems for years to come.
IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Build the wide-event data model at the heart of the platform. Lead an events-first foundation on open standards such as OpenTelemetry, including the schema, SDKs, libraries, and instrumentation defaults that make rich, consistent, high-cardinality telemetry the path of least resistance for every team.
- Build the query foundation that connects people to production data, and make it legible to AI agents. Design the columnar or streaming backends, the tagging and context-propagation standards, and the access patterns, including protocols such as MCP, that let a business stakeholder, a service owner, an engineer, or an AI agent ask an unanticipated question and get a fast answer.
- Connect production data to business impact. Tie telemetry to client experience and business outcomes through SLOs and user flows, so teams see a problem in the numbers that matter before clients feel it. This is detection framed as a data question, not a wall of machine-state alerts.
- Define what observability means at Wealthsimple, set a multi-year roadmap, and align engineering and leadership behind it.
- Own the tool and vendor strategy across the observability stack, including how we get the most from Datadog while reducing lock-in and managing cost.
- Prove value on pilots. Start with one or two teams to validate the approach before scaling it across the organization.
- Hire and lead the team, and own career development, performance management, coaching, and a culture of technical excellence.
- Stay hands-on, and move fast with AI coding tools such as Claude Code fluently to prototype, unblock the team, and raise its bar for building with AI.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- 7+ years in software engineering, with a software development background. You build platforms as software, with the testing, design, and engineering rigor that implies.
- Direct, hands-on experience treating telemetry as a data problem. You have designed wide structured events, managed high cardinality, and worked with columnar or streaming backends, sampling, tagging, and context propagation. This is the core of the role.
- Direct experience building an observability, telemetry, or production-data platform before, so you are not learning the problem space on the job. You do not need to have built a commercial product such as Datadog or Honeycomb, but you have built the equivalent inside an engineering organization.
- A track record of building SDKs and shared platforms in a platform, data, or foundations team. You have shipped the libraries, paved roads, and defaults that other engineers build on, and you treat those engineers as partners.
- Fluency with OpenTelemetry or an equivalent, and with SLI and SLO design that ties signals to client experience and business outcomes.
- 3+ years of engineering management experience, developing engineers and delivering complex initiatives through both growth and change.
- The ability to set a vision, sequence the work, and move engineering and leadership toward it.
- Strong people leadership and cross-boundary influence. You grow careers, give clear feedback, build inclusive teams, and build trust with peer managers, senior leadership, service owners, and business stakeholders.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with columnar stores such as ClickHouse, streaming systems such as Kafka, or query engines built for high-cardinality analytics.
- Experience building observability for LLM and agent-based workloads.
- Familiarity with self-serve data access, semantic layers, or data cataloging that helps non-experts find and query the right signal.
- Experience in a regulated or fintech environment.

WELCOME TO OLX
We're building marketplace sustainable ecosystems that millions of people depend on every month – to buy and sell cars, find homes, land jobs, and trade secondhand goods. It's commerce that matters: safe, smart, and environmentally responsible.
We do this with courage to innovate, commitment to outcomes, collaboration across 50+ nationalities and 7 markets, and a customer-led approach that puts real people first. Add a desire to win – and you get a culture that's ambitious, fast-moving, and built on trust.
Our brands – including AutoTrader, OLX, Otomoto Property24, and more – are loved by millions. And we're backed by Prosus, one of the world's largest tech investors.
Join OLX and see how far you can go.
This role will be based in Poland, and you need to be residing in the country already.
As an Engineering Manager, you'll lead software engineers building and scaling critical platforms that power the OLX engineering ecosystem. You'll combine strong people leadership with enough technical depth to guide major projects, shape technical direction, and help the team solve complex platform challenges.
This is not a generalist Engineering Manager role. Previous experience leading an engineering team in a Platform environment is mandatory. We need someone who understands what it means to build platforms for other engineers and the unique challenges that come with balancing developer experience, reliability, scalability, standardisation, and team autonomy.
You'll capture requirements, shape ambitious but balanced project scope, lead technical initiatives, and partner across teams to solve technical problems and ensure smooth adoption and implementation of platform solutions. Our Platform environment is a mix of software engineering, APIs, distributed systems, infrastructure, DevOps, scalability, and reliability.
We're looking for someone who can operate at both levels: developing people and leading a Platform team, while providing the technical and organisational leadership needed to make the platform successful.
What you will be doing:
Lead by example and manage a team of talented engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and career development support;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science and data engineering managers, and product managers to define project goals, scope, and deliverables;
Drive the end-to-end development process, from design to implementation and deployment, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions (with controlled cost);
Identify and prioritize technical initiatives, considering ROI, scalability, and performance requirements;
Implement modern software development practices, including agile methodologies, continuous integration, and deployment, to ensure efficient and effective project delivery;
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring that the platform meets customer needs and provides an exceptional user experience;
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What you have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field;
Track record of proven people management experience (3+ years) focused on developing and growing people;
5+ years of professional experience in software development.
Proven experience in designing and developing large-scale, high-traffic systems;
Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Streaming architectures);
Strong knowledge of data structures, and software design patterns;
Good understanding and ideally successful application of AI/ML;
Experience with modern software development practices, such as agile methodologies, continuous integration, and deployment;
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment;
Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Our benefits:
Monthly salary and an annual bonus (20%)
Training and conference budget, and free access to Udemy courses
A benefits package with 300 points on the Mybenefit platform per month, private medical care provided by Luxmed, Ask Henry services, and much more
IP rights’ costs - 60%
100% remote work (as well as the possibility of working from our offices in Poznan and Warsaw)
At OLX, we unlock value in our people. We invest in ourselves and each other to reach our full potential. We avoid bureaucracy and empower our teams to innovate; with opportunities, training and leadership behaviors a focus for all. Our commitment to inclusion ensures we listen to a diverse range of voices when making decisions. And, we combine the spirit and agility of a startup with our global scale and the backing of Prosus, one of the largest consumer internet groups in the world.
We also unlock value for our stakeholders. We are proud of the positive contribution we make to our planet, by enabling more conscious consumption and helping the world make the most of its limited resources through more efficient trade.
And last but not least, we love to unlock value for our customers. Every single month, over 300 million people use our platforms to easily, safely, and conveniently find their perfect home, buy or sell a car, find a great job, sell things they no longer need, or strike a great deal on something they need. And we help thousands of entrepreneurs and businesses find their customers too.

OLX values diversity and welcomes applicants of all races, ethnicities, disabilities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, religions, backgrounds, and experiences to apply. If this role excites you, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet all the requirements - you may be just the right fit for this or other opportunities with us!
OLX will process your personal data to assess your fit for the applied position. You may optionally consent to store your data for up to 12 months after the application process for consideration in future OLX roles.
