How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
At Anthropic, we're building AI systems that are safe, beneficial, and transformative. Our mission is to develop AI that benefits humanity, and we believe the most powerful capabilities emerge when we thoughtfully bridge the gap between research breakthroughs and real-world applications.
Frontier AI runs on datacenters, and the world is in the middle of the largest infrastructure buildout in a generation. The binding constraint on progress is increasingly everything around the chips: land, power, permits, equipment, and the design and construction of the buildings themselves. Bringing a single site online involves hundreds of people, thousands of components, and decisions that move enormous amounts of capital. Much of that work still runs on spreadsheets and handoffs.
At Anthropic, we're building software and Claude-powered tools to help Anthropic scale out its compute, and we think there's an enormous opportunity to rethink how that work gets done. It's early, it's already having a real impact, and the engineers who join now will shape how one of the most consequential buildouts in the world gets done.
We're looking for strong, versatile software engineers who love building for people doing real work in the physical world. You'll embed with the teams that source sites, design buildings, procure equipment, and manage construction, learn their work deeply, and build the tools and systems they rely on every day. Datacenter experience is a big plus, but what matters most is that you can earn the trust of expert operators, model a messy domain cleanly, and move fast.
Responsibilities
Build the core systems that track a datacenter's lifecycle (sites, designs, bills of materials, equipment, and construction progress) in one trusted, permissioned source of truth
Embed with datacenter, energy, and supply chain teams to understand how the work actually gets done, find the critical path, and build the tools they reach for first
Bring order to messy data by migrating and reconciling spreadsheets and legacy trackers, and integrate with the industry's tools, like construction management, scheduling, and engineering systems
Design for trust: fine-grained permissions, auditability, and data quality for information that steers major investment decisions
Ship early, iterate with users, and cut anything that doesn't help bring compute online sooner
Partner with research to understand new model capabilities and share where they fall short in engineering-heavy, physical-world domains
You may be a good fit if you
Have 8+ years of experience building software, with strong full-stack skills and solid grounding in data modeling, APIs, and databases
Have built software that teams in a physical-world industry depend on, such as datacenters, construction, energy, manufacturing, supply chain, or logistics
Have a track record of zero-to-one work in startup or startup-like environments
Are deeply user-centric: you learn the domain from the people doing the work and validate with them before over-investing
Bring high agency and good judgment about what matters, and hold strong opinions loosely
Communicate clearly across engineering, operations, and research, and care about the societal impacts of your work
Strong candidates may also have
Experience in datacenters (at a hyperscaler, colocation provider, operator, utility, or engineering firm), or in adjacent fields like construction, logistics, or legal
Experience with the domain's tooling, such as construction management (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud), scheduling (Primavera P6), PLM/BOM, ERP and procurement, CAD/BIM, DCIM, or power system studies
A background in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering, energy systems, or supply chain alongside a software career
Experience building products with large language models
Candidates need not have
100% of the skills listed above
Formal certifications or education credentials
Direct machine learning or AI research experience
Deadline to apply:
None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

About Anthropic

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic’s Safeguards Enforcement team detects and mitigates misuse of Claude, and much of that work depends on people: a growing human review workforce made up of full-time staff, contractors, vendors and BPO partners. As that workforce scales across a widening range of harm areas, the programs that bring people in, give them the right access, and roll them off cleanly have to keep pace.
As Program Manager for Safeguards Workforce Operations, you’ll own those programs end to end. You’ll run onboarding, offboarding, device provisioning and access provisioning for every worker type we use, working hands-on with the requests themselves while you build the processes that make them repeatable. You’ll partner with Enforcement leads to turn shifting priorities into capacity plans, and carry those plans through with our vendor partners. Because this role supports every Safeguards Enforcement program, you’ll also connect the dots across Anthropic, working with IT, People Operations, Security, Contingent Workforce, Human Data Operations and other teams running scaled human review to streamline practices and keep standards consistent.
This is a role for someone who likes fixing broken things at speed. The landscape moves quickly, priorities change often, and the work is an even mix of direct execution and program building.
Key responsibilities
Own the workforce lifecycle for contractor, vendor and BPO reviewers: onboarding, offboarding, device provisioning and access provisioning
Triage and execute inbound requests for new or changing vendor, BPO and contractor capacity
Turn ad hoc or broken processes into scalable ones, with clear owners, service levels and a system of record
Partner with IT and Security on access governance: least-privilege provisioning, timely revocation and regular access reviews
Build and maintain capacity plans with Enforcement leads, translating review demand into workforce needs and adjusting as priorities shift
Work with Safeguards vendor management to hold partners accountable to capacity and onboarding commitments
Align practices with Human Data Operations and other teams running scaled human review, and help them streamline their own workflows
Help define the long-term workforce strategy for Safeguards Enforcement
Minimum qualifications
Have personally run onboarding, offboarding, access and device provisioning for contractor, vendor or BPO workforces — doing the work, not only overseeing it
Have operated scaled human review programs with vendors or BPOs, such as trust & safety, content moderation or data annotation operations
Have taken a broken or ad hoc process, made it scalable, and brought other teams along in adopting it
Understand the fundamentals of capacity planning: how volume, handle time, quality targets, ramp and attrition turn into workforce needs
Exercise sound judgment on access and permissions, and know when to bring in IT or Security
Move quickly and stay effective when priorities change and information is incomplete
Build alignment through direct partnership with the teams you depend on
Preferred qualifications
Owned a vendor or BPO relationship directly, including service levels and business reviews
Built formal capacity models for review or operations workforces
Supported workforces across more than one enforcement or harm area
Hands-on experience with device management and identity and access tooling
Worked through a period of hypergrowth where programs had to mature alongside the organization

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
As a Capacity Deployment Lead within Anthropic's Data Center Operations (DCO) organization, you will support and scale how we bring new compute capacity online across a growing fleet of partner-operated data centers. Deployment runs from construction kickoff to ready for service (RFS). You are engaged during planning and construction, and on-site and hands-on from EFA through infrastructure delivery and receiving, integration QA, power-on and network turn-up, burn-in and validation, and acceptance. You work with hardware vendors and operations partners for completion of each CU (capacity unit) with a structured handover into production operations and the maintenance program. The scope is compute: accelerator systems, racks, and the infrastructure around them - at the sites in service today and the ones coming online behind them.
This is a program and execution role. You will work with the Global Capacity Delivery Program Lead and the broader Data Center Operations organization, to extend its coverage across more sites and platforms as the fleet grows. Expect 50%+ travel: you get eyes on via boots-on-the-ground for each site in preparation for and during delivery, deployment, QA, and close-out, and your authority comes from being there. Working with vendors and partners, you set direction, priorities, and standards for execution, and you prove results with Anthropic-owned data rather than self-reported status. What you learn at one site - what worked, what slipped, what should become standard - becomes the playbook for the next wave. If you have delivered data center hardware at scale, are passionate about HPC data centers, & enjoy working in complex, fast-paced environments, we welcome you to apply.
Responsibilities Include:
Own deployment outcomes for your assigned sites and data-hall waves: CUs and hall ready-for-service dates met, with exceptions closed out, or risk called early enough for leadership to act.
Engage from construction kickoff and confirm deployment readiness ahead of each wave - floor access, power, network, receiving paths, and partner staffing - working the gaps with the site operations partner and facilities counterparts before racks arrive.
Be on site at key points before and during delivery, deployment, QA, and close-out; verify the work with your own eyes rather than from a dashboard, and support the on-site teams with your direct expertise.
Work with partner's site leadership to ensure success through rack delivery and receiving, integration QA, power-on and network turn-up, and burn-in and validation, setting daily priorities and quality gates and confirming results against Anthropic-owned ticket and telemetry data.
Validate the handover gate for each CU and data hall: acceptance criteria met, burn-in complete, documentation delivered, spares positioned, ticketing live, and a structured handover into production operations and the maintenance program.
Turn best practices, optimization, and lessons learned from each deployment into program-wide improvements: procedures, checklists, acceptance standards, and metrics, so the next wave runs faster and cleaner than the last.
Extend the deployment program to new sites and platforms, adapting standards and acceptance criteria as the hardware changes.
Communicate deployment status, dependencies, constraints, and risk to engineering, capacity planning, the team that owns the overall site schedule, and leadership.
You may be a good fit if you:
Have 8+ years of experience in data center operations or hardware deployment as a manager, technical lead or related role, including accountability for delivery milestones.
Can demonstrate a proven track record leading compute or network hardware deployments at a large scale across multiple sites or data-hall waves, from early floor access through ready for service.
Have managed vendors, OEMs, or contract workforces to measurable outcomes: milestones, quality gates, operational reviews, and corrective action.
Possess hands-on technical depth in server, network, and rack-level hardware, enough to independently verify deployment quality and audit vendor claims.
Have built or substantially improved operational processes.
Are comfortable working with schedule, ticket, and telemetry data to drive decisions.
Can travel heavily and work on site for extended stretches, including during delivery surges and turn-up windows. 50% Travel expected.
Possess a bachelor's degree in relevant domain or equivalent practical experience.
It’s a bonus if you have:
Experience with GPU/accelerator or high-density liquid-cooled infrastructure, including bring-up of liquid-cooled racks.
Experience standing up operations at a new site or data hall, from commissioning handoff through first deployment.
Experience deploying more than one accelerator platform, or introducing a new hardware platform into an existing deployment program.
Experience delivering deployment outcomes inside partner-operated or colocation sites where on-the-floor operations are staffed via third parties.
Familiarity with dense accelerator network cabling, optics, and high-speed interconnect at rack and pod scale.

As a Sales Enablement Trainer, Claude Products, you'll teach Anthropic's global sales team how to use our products, both to do their own work better and to position Claude credibly with customers. Anthropic ships quickly, and the surface area of what we build is growing faster than any individual seller can track. The job has two components. The first is enabling our own people to be power users of Claude so the field is the most sophisticated user of the product we sell. The second is enabling them to position it: to run a credible technical conversation with a customer, anticipate the hard questions, and hold their own with a technical buyer.
In this role, you’ll help define what an AI-native sales team looks like. The best person in this role already uses Claude to help them excel in a sales or sales enablement role. You'll be embedded enough with Product and Applied AI to see around the corner and be opinionated enough to say which surfaces to invest enablement resources behind. You'll need enough technical credibility to earn the respect of engineers and enough commercial fluency to earn the respect of sellers.
Key responsibilities
Own product enablement for the global field organization, spanning new launches, existing capabilities, and the product roadmap ahead
Build the programs that make Anthropic sellers genuinely expert users of Claude in their own daily work
Create enablement that equips the field to position our products with technical and business buyers, including demo readiness, objection handling, and competitive framing
Partner closely with Product, Product Marketing, and Applied AI to get early visibility into what is shipping and to shape how it reaches the field
Anticipate which new product surfaces will require enablement investment, and make the case for that investment before launch
Build and maintain the product certification path that credentials sellers on our core products
Create high-quality enablement content including demo scripts, technical talk tracks, solution guides, and competitive positioning material
Establish feedback loops that carry field and customer signal about product gaps back to Product and Product Marketing
Minimum qualifications
Experience in a sales or sales enablement role
Experience building AI automations into sales workflows and tooling
Hands-on, regular use of AI assistants and agentic tools (e.g., Claude, Claude Code) in your own real-world workflows
Working technical knowledge of how LLM products work (e.g., prompting, context, tool use, APIs), enough to demo them live and field technical questions from engineering buyers
Experience writing and presenting technical material for audiences with very different levels of technical depth
Preferred qualifications
Experience bridging sales and technical audiences in a role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, technical enablement, product marketing, or technical account management
Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, agentic frameworks, or developer tooling
Experience turning complex, fast-moving technical products into enablement content such as demo scripts, technical talk tracks, solution guides, or training curricula
Experience owning launch readiness for a technical product across a global field organization
Experience partnering with Product or Product Marketing to prepare a field team ahead of launch, not after it
Experience building programs from 0 to 1 in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Frontier research runs on more than research alone. Behind every model launch, review, and cross-team program is a web of decisions, priorities, and follow-through that keeps hundreds of researchers moving in the same direction. Research Operations owns that work: we bring clarity to ambiguity, provide stability during change, and continually deepen our domain knowledge so that researchers can spend their time on the problems only they can solve. It is one of the highest-leverage functions at Anthropic.
We are hiring an experienced operator to embed with the leadership of our reinforcement learning (RL) organization, the team responsible for training Claude to be more capable, more reliable, and more aligned. You will shape what leadership spends its time on, make sure priority decisions reach the right decision-makers and get made quickly, and clear the path so leaders can focus on the work that matters most. You will report to the Manager of Research Operations and work daily with RL org leaders and their teams.
Key responsibilities
Own leadership's time.
Shape the week around the leaders' specific, most timely priorities, set agendas so meetings are spent on decisions that move the org forward, and cut what isn't critical so leaders stay focused on the areas that are highest-leverage for them.
Triage what reaches leadership.
Resolve what you can, route what belongs elsewhere, and thoughtfully escalate the rest.
Enable wise decision-making and follow through.
Give leaders what they need to decide quickly, communicate those decisions to collaborators, and track commitments through to completion.
See problems coming.
Surface resourcing gaps, technical bottlenecks, and stalled action-items before they become blockers.
Scale leadership voice.
Meetings are ephemeral; docs are forever. Draft materials for org-wide announcements, programming, and planning sessions. Protect leadership’s time for creating durable comms that set direction in turbulent times.
Make the org run better.
Find the friction that keeps recurring and find the people who can fix the process behind it.
Be a thought partner.
Offer honest, candid counsel to leaders, including crisp and kind disagreement.
Minimum qualifications
Care deeply about Anthropic's mission and let it underpin all judgment calls you make across the org.
Technical fluency to engage substantively with researchers: you can follow a discussion about an RL training run, read a set of eval results and form reasonable hypotheses about what they mean, and hold your own in a technical conversation. You don't need to have trained a model yourself, but you should understand the model training process and have the depth to work closely with leading researchers.
Clear writing: you turn dense, jargon-heavy material into summaries and plans that technical collaborators across the RL org and beyond can act on
An eye for great dashboards: you can look at data visualizations and scope improvements that make lessons at-a-glance clearer and grounded.
Strong follow-through and attention to detail; nothing falls through the cracks on your watch.
Ability to push back on senior stakeholders to offer strategic guidance as needed, disagree without causing discord, and influence without direct authority.
Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-changing environment; you stay steady when the pace is relentless and the stakes are as high as they can possibly be.
Experience in an operations, chief of staff, program management, or comparable role supporting senior leaders in a fast-moving technical organization
High integrity. This role sits close to decisions that execute on Anthropic’s mission, and you care about getting them right.
Preferred qualifications
Experience supporting a senior leader directly in a chief of staff or related function
Time in a research institution, lab, or other research-heavy organization
Track record of anticipating what colleagues and leaders will need and acting on it before being asked
Comfort in an environment where the right answer changes hour to hour
Experience moving routine operational work to AI agents, or the ability to script and build small tools
Familiarity with AI safety or other existential risks.

Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and scale our Data Warehouse & Streaming Infra team. You'll own the data platform that Anthropic runs on: the foundation every team relies on to understand the business, make decisions, and keep our systems safe. Every org is your customer. As data volumes grow rapidly, and more of it arrives as real-time streams across multiple clouds, you'll help your team make that stack faster, more robust, and ready for what's next, and you'll shape the long-term vision for how data flows through one of the fastest-growing companies ever.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that calls for both deep technical judgment and strong people skills. You'll partner with leaders across finance, data science, product, engineering, and research to uncover and meet their needs, and you'll grow a small, strong core into a large team. We're looking for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, energized by both business and technical impact, and cares deeply about people.
Responsibilities
Lead, grow, and mentor the Data Warehouse & Streaming Infra team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, engineering excellence, and execution at speed
Own Anthropic's data warehousing, streaming, and processing capabilities end-to-end: "wow" user experience, ops, reliability/security/governance/cost, long-term strategic vision
Support the team to scale and evolve our data ingestion, event streaming, change data capture, storage, orchestration, compute, query, and reporting systems at pace with business growth
Collaborate to define and execute the roadmap for Anthropic's batch and streaming data infrastructure, balancing immediate business needs with durable, scalable design
Lead key platform decisions for the streaming backbone, such as managed versus self-operated Kafka, grounded in clear models of throughput, cost, and operational burden
Partner closely across Finance, Product, Research, and Engineering to ensure data systems directly support business-critical decisions and company growth
Drive hiring for the team — sourcing, evaluating, and closing senior data infrastructure engineers who thrive in high-growth, high-trust environments
Establish data quality standards, freshness and delivery SLAs, and operational processes that guide engineers and users through our high-change environment
Ensure sound infrastructure investment decisions with clear awareness of cost, capacity, reliability, and long-term maintainability tradeoffs
Align the broader Infrastructure org on a common direction for shared platforms, tooling, and best practices across Anthropic's data stack
You may be a good fit if you
Have 3+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of building and leading high-performing data infrastructure teams
Are a people-first leader who gives direct feedback, grows engineers' careers, and builds trust with technical and non-technical partners alike, while staying steady and principled as priorities shift, knowing when to move fast and when to do it right
Bring deep, hands-on expertise in both batch and streaming data infrastructure, from warehousing, pipelines, and orchestration to event streaming and change data capture, including the fundamentals of distributed log systems such as partitioning, delivery guarantees, and backpressure
Have owned systems with significant business or financial impact, and shipped at speed while improving reliability, scalability, security, and cost
Excel at hiring — you've built teams from small to large, and have sharp instincts for identifying exceptional talent
Strong candidates may also have experience with
Warehouse and batch technologies such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Iceberg, Spark, dbt, or Airflow
Streaming and change data capture technologies such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, Flink, or Debezium, ideally including running them at high scale
Multi-cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) or multi-region data platforms, including data-residency requirements
Data infrastructure at AI or ML-intensive companies: you've served customer teams that build pipelines for financial/billing data, model training, evaluation, or safety workflows
Building and operating observability or monitoring for data systems at scale
Working in high-growth environments where data infrastructure had to evolve rapidly to keep pace with the business

Design at Anthropic sits at the intersection of craft, research, and product intuition. Design systems is a growing team working on products that millions of people use daily, and on interactions that don't have established conventions yet.
Our work shapes how people experience AI: whether Claude feels like a tool or a collaborator, whether it earns trust or erodes it. We partner closely with engineers and researchers, often designing around capabilities that are emerging in real time. That means staying close to the models, prototyping rapidly, and being comfortable with ambiguity.
We care deeply about the details that make something feel polished, trustworthy and human. We ship fast and learn in the open. We'd rather get something in front of users and iterate than wait for perfection.
The Design Systems team exists to define and elevate the language of our UI and core interactions. Every Claude product, from claude.ai to Claude Code, shares one system, including the guidance Claude itself follows when it generates UI.
You would be joining an early-stage team, working with design engineers and product designers across the company.
You may be a good fit if you:
Are as comfortable designing on canvas tools as you are building and prototyping within the product, and prefer to ship in days, not months.
Have worked on design systems that balance simplicity with creative flair to produce beautiful products out of the box.
Care about the smallest details as much as the big picture, from a pixel to how the whole app fits together.
Make the people around you better through sharp, kind feedback and low ego.
Get up to speed quickly and can make an impact on projects already in motion.
Key responsibilities
Design and evolve the system, from foundations (colour, type, spacing, icons, tokens, theming) to components like menus, dialogs, sidebars and the chat composer.
Design the expressive layer as a system, not one-offs: motion, illustration and icons that are brand and system at once.
Make the system legible to Claude as well as people: the guidance, metadata and evals that show whether Claude uses it correctly.
Partner with product teams: help designers and engineers apply the system well, and feed recurring gaps back into the system.
Prototype in code and ship: land changes in the design-system package alongside engineers, using Claude Code in your own practice.
Minimum qualifications
Strong visual and interaction craft.
Experience building or working on a design system.
Experience with design tokens, theming and accessibility standards.
Fluency in whichever tool gets an idea across fastest, from Figma to code.
Preferred qualifications
Experience building products at the highest level of craft.
Has shipped voice or other beyond-the-screen work, with native mobile instincts.
Has designed an icon set, illustration style or motion system used across products.
Experience defining evals, lint rules or automated checks for UI quality.
8+ years of product design experience.

Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

We are looking for a Director, IT SOX to join the Internal Audit team at Anthropic. In this role, you will be a hands-on technical contributor and key executor of our IT SOX compliance program, with deep focus on our IT General Controls, IT Application Controls, and system risk assessments.
This role reports to the Head of IT SOX and is well-suited for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, thrives in a high-pace environment, and enjoys solving problems that don't yet have industry-standard answers. This is a high-impact opportunity to collaborate with first and second lines of defense to help establish a control environment suitable for an AI-first company! You will act as a trusted advisor to Engineering, GRC, Security and Finance teams on the technology controls adapted to a fast growing and rapidly changing organization.
