An overview of this role
As a Demo Architect, you'll help GitLab teams and customers get hands-on with our platform faster and with less friction. This role reports to the Senior Director of our Solutions Architecture Center of Excellence, with day-to-day partnership from the current team lead. You'll build and improve the tools, applications, and infrastructure that support field team demos, workshops, trials, and internal test environments across the field.
What makes this role unique is its mix of software engineering, infrastructure, and customer-facing collaboration. You'll work like an engineer for much of the role, while also partnering with Solutions Architects, Account Executives, Customer Success, and others to make sure what we build is practical, usable, and aligned to how the field sells.
What you'll do
Build and maintain tools, applications, and workflows that support demos, workshops, trials, and internal test environments.
Expand the Demo Architect Portal to improve automation, self-service, and scalability for field teams and partners.
Provision and support infrastructure that enables hands-on customer experiences across
GitLab.com
, demo instances, and internal environments.
Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Account Executives, Customer Success, Marketing, Revenue Operations, UX, and Engineering to understand needs and deliver practical technical solutions.
Learn and document go-to-market workflows (e.g., how teams run demos/workshops/trials) and automate the steps that waste time.
Create technical workshop assets and enablement content that support pre-sales and technical selling for individual contributors.
Advise on sales opportunities when specialized technical demo support or custom solutions are needed.
Improve the presenter experience by reducing manual setup work and making demo workflows easier to use and repeat.
Support internal teams that rely on demo or test infrastructure, helping keep those environments available and useful.
Troubleshoot urgent demo/workshop environment issues under pressure and communicate status clearly to stakeholders.
What you'll bring
Experience building software, systems, or internal tools that support technical users or business teams.
Ability to deliver production-grade software and automation with attention to reliability, maintainability, and documentation.
Ability to work across application development and infrastructure, with comfort navigating provisioning, automation, and service workflows.
Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools to shorten investigation time when something breaks.
Comfort communicating and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Sales, Solutions Architecture, Customer Success, Marketing, UX, and Engineering.
Understanding of how to design and iterate on solutions for usability and repeatability, not just technical correctness, with awareness that the end user may be a seller or Solutions Architect.
Ability to operate independently in a remote, asynchronous environment, with willingness to travel periodically for team offsites and occasional in-person planning/whiteboarding sessions.
Exposure to technical demos, workshops, trials, or enablement assets, and/or interest in learning the pre-sales context; transferable experience from software engineering, site reliability engineering, systems engineering, solutions architecture, or similar technical paths. #LI-CM1

Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to define and operationalize a review and approval process for marketing and product communications, ensuring timely and compliant go-to-market execution.
Establish a robust and effective ongoing post-publication monitoring program to ensure that post-campaign marketing materials (including social media and engagement with influencers/KOLs and affiliates) and lookbacks adhere to global and local marketing standards.
Leverage AI-enabled technological solutions to develop a holistic global marketing compliance controls framework that can scale appropriately with the business’ growth.
Track, report, and remediate incidents or issues arising from marketing activities.
Monitor global regulatory developments relevant to crypto marketing and advertising. Proactively assess and implement required changes to the marketing compliance program based on regulatory updates.
Partner with Product, Legal, Risk, Central Compliance and Marketing teams to ensure all product launch communications and campaigns are fully compliant with global regulations and company policies.
Support the business in making decisions while considering regulatory risks and compliance obligations.
Develop materials to improve understanding of compliance and regulatory risks across teams and deliver regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Deep understanding of marketing regulations and standards across key jurisdictions (e.g., US, UK, EU, APAC).
Experience in crypto, blockchain, or digital assets, with strong familiarity with both CeFi and DeFi ecosystems.
Proven ability to design and implement compliance frameworks and controls from scratch.

ABOUT US
Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring an Accounting Automation Engineer to replace manual accounting work across a multi-entity, multi-country enterprise, using Claude Code and agentic AI.
You will use Claude Code and agentic AI, plus Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, to automate accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close and the wider day-to-day accounting operation. You need strong IFRS or US GAAP knowledge to get the numbers right, because an automation that posts wrong entries is worse than no automation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The goal is to automate the repeatable core of enterprise accounting, with human review kept only where judgment is needed.
Accounts payable
- Invoice capture and data extraction from PDFs and email, using AI where useful
- Vendor matching, coding suggestions, and 2-way/3-way PO matching
- Duplicate invoice detection and approval routing
- Payment run preparation and vendor statement reconciliation
Accounts receivable
- Invoice generation and delivery
- Cash application and bank receipt matching
- Aging reports, dunning and collections reminders
- Credit note handling and bad debt/ECL provision support
Reconciliations
- Bank and card reconciliations across all accounts and currencies
- Balance sheet account reconciliations (prepayments, accruals, deferred revenue, fixed assets)
- Intercompany and subledger-to-GL reconciliations
- Exception reports that flag only the items a human needs to review
Month-end close
- Close checklist tracking and scheduled reminders
- Recurring, accrual, prepayment and amortization journals
- Depreciation runs and FX revaluation
- Trial balance checks, flux/variance analysis, and draft commentary
- Management reporting packs
General accounting operations
- Expense report and employee reimbursement checks
- Chart of accounts and master data hygiene
- Audit support: evidence collection, PBC lists, sample extraction
- Data pipelines between ERP, banks, payment platforms and spreadsheets
QUALIFICATIONS
Two things matter most, and we weigh them above everything else:
1. Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
2. Real experience with AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code, backed by solid engineering basics
We accept two paths: an accountant who learned to code, or an engineer who learned accounting. Both are judged on the same practical test.
- Hands-on experience building automations with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript (either is fine)
- Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code, with solid engineering basics, shipping working scripts and agents
- Ability to run local scripts and schedule jobs (cron, task schedulers or CI pipelines)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, shown by ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent, or by several years of hands-on accounting experience
- Experience with core processes: AP, AR, bank reconciliation, month-end close
- Comfort working with APIs and MCP servers, CSV/Excel data and basic SQL
- Care for accuracy, controls and audit trails
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-currency environments, including intercompany and consolidation
- Experience reconciling payment processor statements across multiple jurisdictions and currencies
- Experience with shared cost services that invoice group companies, including complex expense splits and automated invoice generation
- Experience with an ERP and its API (which ERP does not matter)
- Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows, including tool use and MCP servers
- Knowledge of VAT/GST and e-invoicing rules in several jurisdictions
- Experience with Git, testing and basic cloud deployment
- Prior experience in a finance transformation or accounting operations team
- Additional languages, where our entities operate in non-English markets
