Location: Remote - United States What We’re Building Honeycomb is a service for the near and present future, defining observability and raising expectations of what developer tools can do! We’re working with well known companies like HelloFresh, Slack, LaunchDarkly, and Vanguard and more across a range of industries. This is an exciting time in our trajectory, we’ve closed Series D funding, scaled past the 200-person mark, and were named to Forbes’ America’s Best Startups of 2022 and 2023! If you want to see what we’ve been up to, please check out these blog posts and Honeycomb.io press releases . Who We Are We come for the impact, and stay for the culture! We’re a talented, opinionated, passionate, fiercely inclusive, and responsible group of bees. We have conviction and we strive to live our values every day. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers. How We Work We are a fully distributed company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1. #LI-Remote Little more about the team: You'll be the product manager for our Canvas and Agentic AI teams - the teams building Honeycomb's AI-powered investigation experience. Canvas lets engineers use natural language to query, visualize, and understand their production systems. We're pushing well past chat: we're building Skills (pre-configured workflows that encode domain expertise into repeatable, executable actions), Auto-Investigations (agent-driven investigations that kick off before a human gets paged), and a rearchitected Canvas that's both interactive and collaborative. You'll work in a tight triad with engineering and design leads, owning the roadmap for how AI shows up in Honeycomb, from the product UI to our MCP server. You'll partner with our Director of AI Strategy, Research & Development teams, and our customer-facing teams to stay grounded in what customers actually need while pushing toward something meaningfully different from what exists today. This is a role for someone who can hold both execution and ambiguity: shipping production features while navigating a product space where the right answers are still emerging. What you’ll do in the role: Define AI product strategy in service of Honeycomb's vision Synthesize AI trends, customer needs, and technical capabilities into clear strategic recommendations Help the product organization understand where and how AI creates genuine customer value vs. where it's hype Identify emerging observability challenges created by AI adoption (e.g., LLM drift, prompt regression, low-context generated code) Make informed bets about which AI technologies and approaches warrant investment Conduct research that bridges technology and customer reality Build deep understanding of how customers are adopting AI in their engineering workflows Identify patterns across customer conversations that signal future market needs Stay current with AI/ML developments (RAG, fine-tuning, agentic systems, etc.) and translate implications for observability Engage with technical communities, researchers, and early adopters to spot trends before they go mainstream Enable AI innovation across the product portfolio Partner with product teams to identify high-value opportunities to leverage AI capabilities Provide guidance on AI approaches, trade-offs, and best practices without centralizing all decisions Help teams understand how their work fits into our broader AI strategy and how to leverage shared capabilities Synthesize cross-portfolio learnings and socialize what's working (and what isn't) Evangelize the AI-observability connection Articulate Honeycomb's point of view on AI observability both internally and externally Help customers understand how observability needs evolve as they adopt AI Contribute to thought leadership through writing, speaking, and community engagement Build credibility with technical audiences who care deeply about how we use AI, not just that we use it What you’ll bring to the role: Proven AI product experience 5+ years in product management with at least 1+ year shipping AI/ML-powered products Track record of taking AI features from concept to customer impact, including things that didn't work Deep understanding of how engineering teams actually build, deploy, and operate AI systems (not just theoretical knowledge) Familiarity with current AI/ML techniques and the judgment to know when they're applicable vs. overhyped Strategic thinking with customer empathy Ability to synthesize disparate signals (research, customer feedback, technical trends) into coherent strategy Comfort operating with ambiguity and making decisions without perfect information Pattern recognition across conversations—spotting what customers aren't yet saying clearly Strong judgment about when to say "no" or "not yet" despite exciting technology Technical credibility without needing to be the expert Enough technical depth to have earned respect from engineers and architects Genuine curiosity about how things work, paired with humility about what you don't know Ability to evaluate trade-offs between different AI approaches (RAG vs. fine-tuning, model selection, etc.) Understanding of observability principles and why they matter in production systems Communication and collaboration skills Excellent written and verbal communication—can explain complex ideas clearly to varied audiences Ability to influence without authority across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams Comfort presenting to customers, executives, and technical audiences Collaborative mindset that elevates others' work rather than centralizing control Curiosity and learning orientation Demonstrated ability to stay current in fast-moving domains (AI is evolving weekly, not yearly) Intellectual humility—you're more interested in learning than being right Excitement about the intersection of AI technology and real customer problems Energized rather than exhausted by the pace of change in AI Base Salary based on level of experience $198,500 — $233,500 USD What you'll get when you join the Hive: A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience Time to recharge with unlimited PTO A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!) Home office, co-working, and internet stipend Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood Annual development allowance And much more... Please note we cannot currently sponsor or support visa transfers at this time. Additionally, in compliance with applicable law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work. Phishing and Recruitment Scam Warning: We take your security seriously. Please be aware that recruitment scams are increasingly common and scammers may create email addresses or websites to impersonate Honeycomb employees. To help protect you: All communications will come from an @honeycomb.io email address We occasionally work with external recruiting agencies. These partners will use legitimate business email addresses— never personal accounts like Gmail or Yahoo . Our recruiting process will never ask you to provide financial or sensitive personal information, including but not limited to: Social security or tax identification numbers Credit card numbers Bank account information Diversity & Accommodations: We're committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace—where people of all backgrounds, identities, experiences, and abilities are welcomed, valued, and supported. We recognize that there is no single path to success and embrace nontraditional career journeys and diverse perspectives as key to building stronger, more innovative teams. We're building one place where your knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools live side by side, so work is faster, clearer, and less fragmented. Millions of individuals, small teams, and large companies run their work on Notion. Notinos (our employees) are customer zero in bringing this future of work to life. We care about craft, building things that last, and the belief that great work is still fundamentally human. Our goal isn’t to ship the next feature. Each and every team of Notinos is working to set the standard for how humans work together in the AI era. From building a business’s system of record to making and managing AI agents to automating away the busy work, we care deeply about giving our customers more time for their life’s work. ABOUT THE ROLE: Notion is building the connected AI workspace where teams and agents think together, bringing knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools into one place. Joining Corporate Accounting means helping build the financial foundation for a business shaping how work gets done in the AI era. In this role you’ll be a key player on the Corporate Accounting team, working across global accounting areas with a focus on close activities, related reconciliations, and international statutory reporting. You’ll collaborate with teammates to strengthen the accounting processes that support Notion’s growth into new countries. At Notion, you’ll help build the repeatable operating practices that let a growing global business scale with confidence. This role is based in San Francisco. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days. WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE: - Be a key team player across monthly, quarterly, and annual close: Prepare accurate journal entries and adjustments with clear supporting documentation; support AP and cash reconciliations, including flux analysis and commentary; and complete close work on time. - Help establish reliable, repeatable global accounting processes as Notion expands into new countries. - By your 90th day, contribute meaningfully to close activities and take ownership of clearly defined global reconciliation work. - By your 90th day, organize and track open items, requests, and timelines across international statutory audits, coordinating with Tax and cross-functional partners. - By your 90th day, use Claude thoughtfully to improve reconciliation analysis, audit support, documentation, or quality checks—while applying appropriate data safeguards. - By the end of your first year, become a trusted partner, strengthen controls and accounting processes across your areas, supporting accurate financial statements and statutory filings. - By the end of your first year, raise the bar on documentation and process quality so recurring work is easier to execute, review, and build on. SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING: - Working knowledge of core corporate accounting processes, including close activities, AP, and cash reconciliations; this is central to the role’s day-to-day work. - Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual accounting, with some familiarity with IFRS. - Experience in public accounting or audit, or in corporate accounting; candidates early in their careers, including new graduates with relevant experience, are welcome. - Ability to organize and track work across multiple international statutory audits with accuracy, clear follow-through, and attention to deadlines. - Curiosity to learn country-specific requirements as Notion expands. - Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, or a similar ERP is a plus; experience with BlackLine, tax, or close management is also helpful. - Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional partnerships and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels, including explaining fluctuations and their business drivers. - Ownership, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset: you look for ways to make the work more accurate, scalable, and easier for others to build on. Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $105,000 - $125,000 per year. For some roles, AI fluency is a core requirement — when that’s the case, we'll say so explicitly in the qualifications. People who thrive here don’t treat AI as a novelty. They use it to think better, and make their work easier for others to build on. EQUAL OPPORTUNITY & ACCOMMODATIONS We hire talented people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every bullet, we still encourage you to apply. Location: San Francisco; Toronto; New York; Montreal; Seattle Workplace: Hybrid ABOUT BASETEN Baseten powers mission-critical inference for the world's most dynamic AI companies, like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. By uniting applied AI research, flexible infrastructure, and seamless developer tooling, we enable companies operating at the frontier of AI to bring cutting-edge models into production. We're growing quickly and recently raised our $1.5B Series F https://www.baseten.co/blog/announcing-our-series-f/, led by Altimeter Capital, Conviction Partners, and Spark Capital. Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products. THE ROLE The largest, most demanding enterprises run on Baseten, and they bring exacting requirements for how people, services, and agents access the platform. This is the founding role for our identity and authorization team within enterprise engineering. You'll own the identity and access layer of the Baseten platform: the authorization model, credential systems, and admin experiences that enterprise IT teams use to govern access for organizations like Harvey, HubSpot, and Notion. You'll design and build Baseten's fine-grained authorization system from the ground up to support the workflows customers depend on today while giving them cleaner, more precise ways to manage access as the platform grows. Authorization at Baseten requires low-latency permission checks at high request volume, consistent contracts and behaviors across the product suite, and strong security guarantees for mission-critical, highly regulated workloads. EXAMPLE INITIATIVES Recent and upcoming work in this area: - Fine-grained authorization for users, service accounts, and agentic workloads: per-resource permissions at the organization, team, and workload scope to support both common workflows and complex enterprise access policies - Programmatic authentication allowing high-compliance customers to connect service principles securely via short-lived, workload-based credentials - Agent credentials that grant an agent exactly the access it needs for the given task and nothing more - Enterprise identity lifecycle including single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, and per-organization session expiry policies - Admin controls for centralized visibility, auditability, and governance over credentials, roles, and access RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead identity and authorization projects from problem definition and technical design through implementation, launch, and iteration. - Design authorization and credential models that support critical user workflows today and can be safely extended as the platform evolves. - Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to turn enterprise security requirements into durable technical solutions. - Establish engineering practices for quality, security, observability, and operational ownership. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship as the team grows. REQUIREMENTS - 4-5+ years of experience building production backend systems, including hands-on design and implementation of a product authorization system: per-resource or per-object permissions, relationship-based access control, a policy engine, or a fine-grained authorization system in the style of Zanzibar, OpenFGA, SpiceDB, or Cedar. - Demonstrated end-to-end ownership: you've taken a system from first design through implementation, production rollout, and iteration with users. - Experience developing and operating multi-tenant systems at scale, where authorization checks sit in the request path and latency and consistency matter. - Comfort working across the full stack, from product and application code to cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure. NICE TO HAVE - Experience with Python and Go. - Experience running an OpenFGA, SpiceDB, or similar deployment in production, beyond a proof of concept. - Working knowledge of OAuth, OIDC, and SCIM at the protocol level. BENEFITS - Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity - (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents - Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!) - Paid parental leave - Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot - (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k) - Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities. Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you. At Baseten, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law (by example, the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, where applicable).

Location: Remote About GiveDirectly What if the most effective way to fight poverty was also the simplest: give people money and trust them to decide what they need? Since 2011, GiveDirectly has proven that idea at scale. We’ve delivered more than $1B in cash directly to 2+ million people living in poverty and crisis across 15 countries, and rigorous research shows the results: healthier kids, stronger businesses, sturdier homes, and more resilient families and local economies. Cash is now widely recognized as one of the most scalable, cost-effective, and dignified forms of aid. Our ambition goes beyond our own programs. We want cash to become the benchmark for aid, much as the index fund became the benchmark for investing, so that every aid dollar is held to one question: is this doing more good than giving the money directly to people living in poverty? We’re growing fast, and this is a rare and important moment to join. We expect to hit $1B in revenue in 2026 with significant growth forecast for 2027. At the same time we are building a new technology stack and operating model designed for a roughly 10x change in scale, and we are actively pursuing partnerships with major funders to move even more money in bigger ways, to people who need it. We are known for our extensive integration of technology into field processes; our quantitative approach to performance measurement; and our commitment to rigorous, independent, experimental evaluation of our impact, with multiple Randomized Control Trials completed and others in progress. How we work Our team spans 20+ countries and 69 languages. Our culture is candid, analytical, and non-hierarchical. We expect high ownership and give people real responsibility early. Our values are central to how we hire, work, and grow, and they are deliberately opinionated: Recipients first. Recipients’ preferences come before those of donors or ourselves. Team next. We optimize for organizational success, not individual success. Be proactively candid. We say what we believe and share information openly. Create positive energy. We aim to be a source of energy for colleagues, not a drain. Think rigorously; act quickly. We reason from first principles, then act rather than debate. Know yourself and grow. We own our imperfections and seek feedback to grow. Accept reality. Propose solutions. We focus on what can change and bring solutions, not just problems. Be productively ambitious. We take risks for step-change impact, not incremental progress. If they describe how you like to work and they energize you, this could be a great fit. Want to learn more? Location: Europe; London Workplace: Remote Synthesia is the world’s leading AI video platform for business, used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017, the company is headquartered in London, with offices and teams across Europe and the US. As AI continues to shape the way we live and work, Synthesia develops products to enhance visual communication and enterprise skill development, helping people work better and stay at the center of successful organizations. Following our recent Series E funding round, where we raised $200 million, our valuation stands at $4 billion. Our total funding exceeds $530 million from premier investors including Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital, alongside the founders and operators of Stripe, Datadog, Miro, and Webflow. THE ROLE: We're looking for a Staff (L6) Product Designer to lead design for some of Synthesia's AI-native, agentic Sessions product surfaces. Sessions are the experiences where employees learn through conversation, companies lrun a survey at scale, and AI becomes a direct participant in how work gets done - not just a tool behind the scenes. This area is central to redefining what a video platform can be: moving upstream from content creation into workforce development, and making complex AI capabilities feel natural, trustworthy, and effective for everyday users. You'll operate as a senior IC: setting direction, influencing roadmap decisions, shaping bets with Product and Engineering leaders, and raising the craft bar. In practice, this role is about solving AI-native design problems, for example: - Designing real-time, conversational avatar experiences that feel engaging and natural - not robotic or gimmicky - for employees learning and practising skills at work. - Creating interaction patterns for AI-driven workflows that give users the right amount of control, transparency, and trust without overwhelming them with complexity. - Improving output quality through better structure, guidance, and feedback loops - helping users understand what the AI is doing, catch issues early, and iterate with confidence. - Working at the frontier where AI changes what "interaction" means, and the best patterns are genuinely still being invented. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: - Own major AI-native bets end-to-end, from problem framing to shipped outcomes and iteration. - Set a design vision for our "Sessions" surface, and influence adjacent product areas to stay coherent. - Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define what "great" looks like (principles, quality bar, success metrics) and then drive toward it. - Prototype and test interaction models quickly - including novel agentic and conversational patterns - and know when high-fidelity matters. - Raise the bar on craft: interaction design, UI quality, systems thinking, and consistency across AI-native experiences. YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU BRING: - Significant experience designing complex, high-usage product surfaces - ideally including AI-native products, agentic features, conversational interfaces, or products where the system takes meaningful autonomous action. - Strong craft in interaction design and visual design, and a track record of shipping work that measurably improves the product experience. - Comfort operating in ambiguity: you can turn unclear and fast-moving problem spaces into crisp direction, and you do not wait for perfect clarity. - Systems thinking: you understand how AI capabilities, model constraints, and product architecture shape what's actually possible in the UX - not just what looks good on a screen. - Excellent communication in design reviews and cross-functional decision-making contexts. - Experience designing workflows where trust, transparency, and user control are central - helping users feel confident in AI-driven outputs rather than confused or excluded. - A track record of tackling novel problems in maturing product spaces, and shaping the product from early-stage bets through to execution. - The ability to leverage feedback from users and customers to ensure the product continues to meet real needs - including enterprise users with high stakes around quality, compliance, and scale. AT SYNTHESIA WE EXPECT EVERYONE TO: - Put the Customer First - Own it & Go Direct - Be Fast & Experimental - Make the Journey Fun You can read more about this in this public Notion page: https://synthesia.notion.site/How-we-work-at-Synthesia-f794caa72f8446efb6be22b551ce0fa2 BENEFITS - A flexible, remote friendly role based out of Europe or one of our hubs in London, Copenhagen, Munich, or Zurich. - 25 days of annual leave + public holidays in the country where you are based. - A generous referral scheme. - Work from home set up. - At Synthesia, you can work from anywhere (within reason) in the world for up to 60 days per year! - A huge opportunity for career growth as you’ll help shape a market-defining product.

Our total funding exceeds $530 million from premier investors including Accel, NVentures (Nvidia's VC arm), Kleiner Perkins, GV, and Evantic Capital, alongside the founders and operators of Stripe, Datadog, Miro, and Webflow. Location: Europe remote or London hybrid THE ROLE: Synthesia is used by over 90% of the Fortune 100. The largest deployments now run thousands of creators across dozens of markets, languages, and compliance regimes. What decides whether those accounts expand or stall is not another avatar - it's whether admins, legal teams, and programme owners can actually stay in control. We're looking for a Staff (L6) Product Designer to own that layer end-to-end: workspace setup and governance, the content lifecycle, and the analytics and integrations that close the loop. This is the work that turns a proof of concept into a seven-figure renewal, and right now it is wide open. You'll operate as a senior IC: setting direction, influencing roadmap decisions (not just contributing), shaping bets with Product and Engineering leaders, and raising the bar on how we think about enterprise design problems. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: - Own the Enterprise surface end-to-end, from problem framing to shipped outcomes and iteration - often dealing with ambiguity. You'll reach out to the right stakeholders, get the right eyes in the room, and make decisions independently. - Design complex governance and compliance systems that give admins, legal teams, and compliance officers genuine control and transparency. Examples include: - Permission models and role hierarchies that scale across thousands of creators without collapsing into chaos. - Audit log experiences that make compliance auditable - not just for the system, but for the humans who need to understand what happened. - Workspace setup and identity workflows that integrate with real enterprise infrastructure (SSO, SCIM, MCP). - License and billing models that admins can actually understand and manage at scale. - Analytics and reporting that tell admins whether their deployment is working as intended. - Work with technical constraints and possibilities. You'll develop fluency in APIs, widget architectures, developer hub patterns, and how backend systems shape what's actually achievable in the UX. You're not designing in isolation from engineering - you're designing in partnership with it. - Drive pragmatic iteration. You'll scope ruthlessly, build POCs to get signal early, and iterate based on what you learn from enterprise customers. - Set a design vision for our Enterprise surface and influence adjacent product areas to stay coherent. As things scale across SSO, compliance, analytics, and billing, you're keeping the mental model consistent. YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU BRING: - Significant experience designing complex, large-scale product surfaces - ideally admin dashboards, governance layers, analytics platforms, or other domains where system thinking matters. - Technical fluency. You understand APIs, integrations, how services communicate, how widgets and developer hubs work. You can read a technical architecture doc and understand the constraints it creates for design. You don't need to be an engineer, but you think like one. - Systems thinking: not just about interaction flows, but about enterprise systems. You understand how identity systems, compliance regimes, and scale constraints shape what's actually possible in the UX. You think in mental models and multi-step workflows, not single screens. - Comfort operating in ambiguity: you can turn unclear and fast-moving problem spaces into crisp direction, and you do not wait for perfect clarity. - Excellent communication in design reviews and cross-functional decision-making contexts. - Experience designing workflows where trust, transparency, and user control are central - helping users feel confident in AI-driven outputs rather than confused or excluded. - The ability to leverage feedback from users and customers to ensure the product continues to meet real needs - including enterprise users with high stakes around quality, compliance, and scale. Location: Ukraine; Moldova; Albania; Kazakhstan; Montenegro; European Union; Serbia; Bosnia; Georgia Workplace: Remote ABOUT US Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE At Ruby Labs, we are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to own and drive a new cross-platform desktop product from first commit to production. This is a high-ownership role with an unusually deep systems component. The application is not a wrapped web app: it captures system and microphone audio in real time, renders an always-on-top overlay across the user's workspace, registers global shortcuts, and integrates with the operating system at a level that requires native code on both macOS and Windows. Our architecture is Electron for the application and UI layer, with native modules and helper processes in Swift and C++ where the platform requires it. You will own that boundary, deciding what belongs in TypeScript, what belongs in native code, and making the two halves behave as one reliable product. You will also own everything that happens after the build: code signing, notarization, entitlements, permission onboarding, auto-update, and crash reporting. On this product, those are not an afterthought; they are a significant share of the engineering work, and getting them wrong is what stops users from ever running the app. You will operate as the senior technical voice for desktop within your team, setting the engineering standard for the platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES DESKTOP APPLICATION & ENGINEERING QUALITY - Own the Electron architecture end to end — main, renderer and helper processes, IPC design, context isolation, process lifecycle — and deliver major features within agreed timelines. - Build transparent, frameless, always-on-top overlay windows that behave correctly across full-screen spaces, multiple displays and mixed-DPI setups, alongside global shortcuts, tray presence and low-latency UI under continuous background load. - Design a clean platform abstraction in TypeScript so the macOS and Windows implementations stay isolated and independently testable, and write idiomatic Swift and C++ in the native layer. - Keep the product reliable: defensive handling of unstable platform APIs, tests and code reviews, performance, memory and battery budgets, and remediation of security-review and penetration-test findings within agreed severity SLAs. NATIVE PLATFORM INTEGRATION - Build and maintain the native layer: Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) and out-of-process helpers in Swift and C++. - Implement real-time system audio capture — Core Audio process taps and ScreenCaptureKit on macOS, WASAPI loopback on Windows — including device change handling, format negotiation and graceful recovery from driver-level failures. - Integrate with the Accessibility API (AXUIElement) on macOS and UI Automation on Windows to read application context reliably. - Own the IPC protocol and lifecycle between Electron and the native helpers, and keep the application working as Apple and Microsoft change their platforms. DISTRIBUTION, PERMISSIONS & RELEASE RELIABILITY - Own code signing and notarization on macOS — hardened runtime, entitlements, nested binary signing, provisioning profiles — and Authenticode signing, SmartScreen reputation and antivirus false positives on Windows. - Design the permission onboarding flow — microphone, system audio, screen recording, accessibility — so that grant rates stay high and failure states are recoverable. - Build and maintain the release pipeline: CI matrix builds, signing from CI with HSM-backed certificates, auto-update, staged rollout and rollback. - Own crash reporting and production telemetry for the desktop client, and act on what it tells you. QUALIFICATIONS - 6+ years of software engineering experience, including production-grade TypeScript/Node.js. - 3+ years building and shipping Electron applications to real end users, not internal tools or proofs of concept. - Hands-on native macOS development in Swift and/or Objective-C, with AppKit and at least one system-level framework such as Core Audio, AVFoundation, ScreenCaptureKit, or the Accessibility API. - Practical experience writing native Node addons (N-API / node-addon-api) or bundling and communicating with out-of-process native helpers. - Demonstrated experience with macOS code signing, notarization, entitlements, and the TCC permission model — you have debugged a rejected notarization and know how to read the log. - Working knowledge of the Windows desktop platform: Win32 APIs, Authenticode signing, and the practical realities of SmartScreen and antivirus reputation. - Strong grasp of multi-process architecture, IPC, and debugging issues that only reproduce on a user's machine. NICE TO HAVE - Real-time audio pipelines — buffering, resampling, mixing multiple sources, or streaming to speech-to-text services. - Signing from CI with hardware-backed certificates (Azure Key Vault, DigiCert KeyLocker, or similar), and antivirus whitelisting or SmartScreen reputation building for a new product. - Auto-update infrastructure such as Squirrel, electron-updater or Sparkle, including staged rollouts. - Crash reporting and symbolication for native code (Crashpad, Sentry, or similar). - Prior experience shipping a consumer desktop product at meaningful scale. LOCATION Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours. BENEFITS Discover the perks of being part of our vibrant team! INTERVIEW PROCESS After submitting your application, we conduct a thorough review which typically takes 3 to 5 days, but may occasionally take longer due to the volume of applications received. If we see a potential fit, we proceed with the following steps: - Recruiter Screening (40 minutes) - Technical Interview (60 minutes) - Final Interview (40 minutes) LIFE AT RUBY LABS At Ruby Labs, we move fast, aim high, and expect the same from our team.
