An overview of this role
What does software planning look like when people and artificial intelligence agents work together? As a Staff Product Manager for Planning at GitLab, you'll help answer that question and lead the team toward a clear product direction. This isn't just about improving traditional agile planning. You'll rethink how intent becomes actionable work, how that work moves through software development, and where human involvement is needed.
You'll develop a point of view on planning's future and turn it into product decisions with engineering, design, and product leadership. That includes exploring how planning could connect work to business priorities and budgets, rather than assuming the answer is already decided. Alongside that strategic work, you'll share ownership of existing planning capabilities with another product manager.
We're opening this role at Staff level, with flexibility to consider Principal level based on your experience and scope of impact.
What you'll do
Define a clear direction for planning as software development shifts toward collaboration between people and artificial intelligence agents, and help the team move from open questions to concrete priorities.
Shape how users capture intent, break it into actionable work, and determine which work can proceed autonomously and which needs human involvement.
Evaluate whether and how planning should connect software delivery to company priorities, business objectives, and budgets.
Share ownership of planning capabilities, including work items, boards, specifications, and portfolio planning, with a fellow product manager. Help define how that scope is divided.
Work with engineering and design to translate product direction into a roadmap and improvements to planning workflows across GitLab.
Communicate your recommendations clearly to senior leaders, challenge assumptions constructively, and lead the team through changes in direction.
What you'll bring
Experience leading product strategy and execution for software development, developer tools, or planning products, with the depth to make decisions in a specialized product area.
A strong understanding of software development and development and operations (DevOps) workflows, including how planning decisions affect downstream delivery.
The ability to form and defend a product point of view in an uncertain, changing market, while staying open to different ideas.
Clear communication with technical teams and senior executives, including experience challenging leadership decisions constructively and building support for a direction.
The ability to connect a forward-looking strategy to practical product decisions and work collaboratively across product, engineering, and design.
About the team
The Planning team builds the capabilities at the start of GitLab's software development workflow, including work items, boards, specifications, and portfolio planning. Decisions here affect how work moves through the rest of the platform, so the team's scope extends beyond standalone project management tools.
You'll work alongside another product manager and partner with engineering and design across this product area. The division of product ownership is still being shaped, and you'll help define it. The hiring manager wants you to bring a different perspective, question established approaches, and challenge senior leaders constructively, with room to influence decisions beyond your immediate product scope.
GitLab's mission is to enable everyone to contribute to and co-create the software that powers our world. Our platform brings software development, security, and operations together.

An overview of this role
As a SLED Solutions Architect, you'll be a trusted technical advisor to State, Local, and Education customers in every state east of the Mississippi River: state agencies, counties, cities, special districts, community colleges, and public, private, and research universities. These organizations deliver services residents and students rely on every day, often with lean IT teams, aging systems, fixed fiscal-year budgets, and growing cybersecurity threats.
You'll show them how GitLab's DevSecOps platform and AI capabilities, including the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, help them modernize legacy applications, protect sensitive resident and student data, meet state and sector compliance requirements, and do more with the staff they have. You'll own the technical evaluation and validation stages of the sales cycle, guide customers through proofs of concept and value, and translate platform capabilities into outcomes that agency leaders, CIOs, CISOs, and procurement officers can defend in a budget request or an RFP evaluation.
You'll partner closely with SLED account executives, channel partners, and systems integrators, provide technical guidance from first conversation through successful deployment, and bring the voice of the SLED customer back into Product, Sales, and Marketing.
Location and travel:
The territory covers all states east of the Mississippi River. The candidate must reside in the Northeast part of the United States. This role requires up to 50% travel.
What you'll do
Engage SLED customers onsite and remotely, from state capitals to university campuses, with tailored demos, technical presentations, and hands-on workshops that tie GitLab to their mission.
Partner with SLED account executives to shape account strategies that align with each customer's fiscal year budget cycle, legislative appropriations, IT modernization plans, and grant or federal pass through funding.
Own the technical evaluation process, including proof of concept (POC) and proof of value (POV) design and delivery, and provide technical responses for RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and security questionnaires.
Support purchases made through cooperative purchasing agreements and statewide contract vehicles by working with channel and reseller partners.
Guide customers through state and sector security requirements, such as GovRAMP and NIST frameworks, and show how GitLab's built in security, auditability, and deployment options reduce compliance burden.
Help agencies and institutions modernize legacy and mainframe applications, such as unemployment insurance, tax, DMV, benefits, and student information systems, using GitLab and AI-assisted development to lower risk and offset shrinking pools of legacy skilled staff.
Advise customers on adopting AI responsibly, including the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, in line with state AI policies, governance boards, and data privacy requirements.
Lead the creation of Customer Success Plans that capture technical success criteria and handoff details, ensuring a smooth path to deployment and adoption, often for IT teams with limited capacity.
Work alongside Account Executives to build data driven business cases that quantify delivery bottlenecks, giving customers a defensible basis for budget requests and clear evidence of return on taxpayer investment.
Build relationships with CIOs, CISOs, agency directors, enterprise architects, faculty, research computing leaders, and procurement officers so they become advocates for GitLab, including across agencies and campuses that share services.
Collaborate with systems integrators and state IT shared-services organizations to scale GitLab adoption across multiple agencies, local governments, or campuses.
Serve as the SLED customer advocate internally, channeling feedback on procurement, compliance, and deployment needs to Product, Sales, and Marketing.
Stay current on GitLab and related technologies, and create reusable SLED demos, reference architectures, and assets for customers and partners.
What you'll bring
Background in technical pre-sales, consulting, or IT roles serving state agencies, local governments, or public, private, and research universities, where you guided customers through evaluations and solution design.
Working knowledge of how SLED organizations buy technology: RFP and RFI cycles, cooperative purchasing agreements, statewide contracts, fiscal-year budgeting, and the role of resellers and systems integrators.
Hands-on experience using GitLab and familiarity with modern software development and operations practices, such as CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation.
Experience with cloud, hybrid, and self-managed deployments in regulated environments, including government cloud regions, and an understanding of data residency and sovereignty concerns.
Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks common in SLED, such as GovRAMP and NIST SP 800-53.
Ability to connect technical solutions to mission outcomes, such as resident service delivery, cyber resilience, cost avoidance, and workforce efficiency, and to advise senior stakeholders on tradeoffs and options.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including presenting to both technical teams and non-technical leaders such as agency heads, procurement officers, and university administrators.
Openness to learning, seeking feedback, and building new skills, including familiarity with GitLab's Solutions Architect handbook and related resources.
Nice to have
Prior experience working in or for state or local government IT, or a university IT or research computing organization.
Experience with legacy or mainframe modernization programs.
Familiarity with AI governance practices in the public sector, such as AI use-case inventories, acceptable-use policies, and risk assessments.
About the team
The SLED Solutions Architect role is part of GitLab's Public Sector Solutions Architect team, a group of trusted technical advisors who help government and education customers understand, evaluate, and adopt the GitLab DevSecOps platform. The team is distributed and collaborates asynchronously across time zones using GitLab and our handbook-first practices to share knowledge, reusable examples, and best practices.
On the SLED team, you'll help customers solve challenges unique to state, local, and education organizations: protecting resident and student data, modernizing mission-critical legacy systems, buying through public procurement processes, and stretching limited IT staff and budgets. You'll also bring SLED customer insights back to GitLab to shape product direction.

You'll shape how our partners go to market, serving as the primary process owner for deal registration, partner programs, partner quote-to-cash, and partner attribution. You'll combine operational strategy with hands-on execution, using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate workflows and help ecosystem operations scale.
What you'll do
Design and govern end-to-end partner processes, including deal and referral registration, service attach, two-tier distribution, rules of engagement, and quote-to-cash. Partner with Deal Desk and Billing on resale, distribution, OEM, GSI, and MSP transaction workflows, and resolve complex registration, quoting, and billing escalations.
Own operational execution of partner tiering, onboarding, certification compliance, not-for-resale (NFR) licenses, rebates, and incentives, including eligibility tracking, approval routing, and payments.
Own and administer the partner technology ecosystem, including Impartner partner relationship management (PRM), Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) partner objects, deal registration, and partner portals. Maintain system health and data integrity, and co-manage vendor roadmaps, renewals, and service-level accountability.
Partner with Revenue Technologies and Systems to maintain integrations across partner platforms, Salesforce, enterprise resource planning (ERP), quoting, billing, and financial systems, including partner attribution and compensation data flows. Lead prioritization and user acceptance testing (UAT) for implementations, migrations, and platform enhancements with IT and Enterprise Applications.
Own the ecosystem data model and work toward one standard partner attribution record across the customer lifecycle. Serve as a resource for Ecosystem Sales, partners, and internal teams on attribution, territory, and compensation-impacting data, and maintain reporting and dashboards as a single source of truth for partner pipeline, registration activity, and program performance.
Lead ecosystem month-end close with Deal Desk, Compensation, Accounts Receivable, and Finance, covering opportunity corrections, partner splits, territory review, and reconciliation.
Identify, build, and deploy AI agents to automate workflows such as deal registration routing, NFR provisioning, partner data quality checks, and reporting. Evaluate processes for opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and shorten cycle times.
Maintain the authoritative ecosystem process map, runbooks, and training materials. Support tool configuration, testing, and end-user training. Own channel price files and partner quoting for product launches and stock keeping unit (SKU) changes. Coordinate improvements with operational peers, IT, Finance, Product, and Legal through GitLab Work Items.
What you'll bring
Experience in business-to-business software-as-a-service channel or partner operations, with direct ownership of ecosystem workflows and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Hands-on experience with Impartner or an equivalent PRM platform, including deal registration and partner portal administration.
Strong working knowledge of Salesforce CRM, including partner objects, opportunity management, Flow, validation rules, reports, and dashboards.
Deep familiarity with resale, two-tier distribution, deal registration, rules of engagement, partner discounting, and partner quote-to-cash, plus an understanding of OEM, GSI, and MSP transaction structures and operational requirements.
Direct experience operating partner programs, including tiering, certification compliance, rebates, and incentives, with responsibility for execution and compliance.
Experience designing and documenting complex operational processes for distributed teams, translating business needs into detailed system requirements and configuration, and leading user acceptance testing through release.
Hands-on experience using AI tools and building agents to automate operational workflows, from evaluating opportunities to delivering working solutions.
Experience resolving ambiguous operational escalations across systems, teams, and partner relationships, and aligning Deal Desk, IT, Finance, Compensation, Legal, and Sales around operational changes.
About the team
Our Ecosystem Operations team works closely with Systems, Revenue Technologies, Deal Desk, Ecosystem Programs, Enablement, Finance, Compensation, and Legal. We enable consistent execution across Ecosystem Operations Specialists and cross-functional partners. You'll also partner with the Senior Hyperscaler Operations Manager, who owns Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud operations, on shared systems, the ecosystem data model, and month-end close.

An overview of this role
As the Director of Dedicated Infrastructure Engineering & Platforms, you will lead the engineering organization responsible for GitLab Dedicated, GitLab's premium single-tenant SaaS offering for enterprise customers in regulated industries, and public sector.
You will lead a high-performing organization of managers and engineers who own the entire lifecycle of dedicated and cellular platforms, from orchestration, integrations, resilience, and incident response to switchboard APIs, public sector compliance, and enterprise customer migrations. Your mission is to scale GitLab Dedicated from its current trajectory toward an aggressive growth target, ensuring enterprise customers experience full platform capabilities with dedicated infrastructure, compliance certifications, and enterprise-grade SLAs in an isolated environment.
As a high-impact executive leader, you will define the strategy for single-tenant and public sector SaaS platforms, drive critical infrastructure investments, ensure FedRAMP/compliance operational readiness, and build the switchboard and migration capabilities that allow enterprise customers to seamlessly transition to and scale on Dedicated. You will succeed by cultivating a culture of operational excellence, closing key business and roadmap gaps, and leading distributed engineering teams to deliver high-availability, highly secure platform experiences.
What you'll do
Own the strategy and roadmap for GitLab Dedicated, and ensure the platform scales with customer growth and converges with GitLab's cellular architecture.
Partner with Product and executive leadership to deliver on growth targets, with a focus on platform reliability, faster customer onboarding, infrastructure cost efficiency, and self-service administration.
Lead the engineering teams that build and run the platform: tenant orchestration and integrations, resilience and incident response, the Switchboard control plane, public sector platforms and compliance, and enterprise migrations and import tooling. Uphold enterprise-grade SLAs across every tenant.
Deliver GitLab Dedicated for Government: AWS GovCloud infrastructure, FedRAMP operations and audit readiness, air-gapped isolation, and public sector feature delivery.
Make enterprise migrations to Dedicated predictable, repeatable, and low-disruption through self-service tooling and guided workflows.
Hire, coach, and scale engineering managers across distributed teams, and bring practical AI-enabled workflows into how the organization works.
Partner with Product, Security, and Customer Support to keep customer commitments, architecture, and investments aligned.
Take part in on-call or operational support where your team’s ownership model requires it.
What you'll bring
You have led engineering organizations that run enterprise single or multi tenant SaaS infrastructure and cloud platforms at scale.
You have measurably improved production reliability, reduced toil, or lowered infrastructure cost on a platform you owned.
You have deep expertise in cloud-native and cellular architectures, Infrastructure as Code, and modular services that deploy and scale independently across cloud environments.
You have delivered and operated enterprise offerings under strict compliance regimes such as FedRAMP and AWS GovCloud.
You have led organizational changes, including adopting AI enabled workflows that raise engineering system efficiencies.
You translate financial targets into engineering investments, headcount plans, and execution roadmaps.
You lead with ownership, speed with quality, and a focus on customer outcomes.
About the team
The Dedicated Infrastructure & Platforms organization builds and runs GitLab Dedicated, our single-tenant enterprise SaaS offering, for GitLab's most strategic enterprise and public sector accounts. It is organized into five focus areas:
Platform Orchestration & Integrations: orchestration, deployment, and environment automation for Dedicated tenants and cellular environments, plus integrations with external products.
Core Features, Resilience & Response: compliance and operations driven features, disaster recovery, automated failover, rate limiting, and incident response automation.
Switchboard & Control Plane: the APIs, tenant change automation, and operator and customer interfaces that make Dedicated self-service.
Public Sector Platforms & Compliance: AWS GovCloud infrastructure, FedRAMP compliance operations, air-gapped isolation, and Geo replication for GitLab Dedicated for Government.
Enterprise Migrations & Import Tooling: customer migration programs and playbooks, Geo-based migration tooling, Direct Transfer, and self-service guided import workflows.

Salmon is a technology-driven financial company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. In three years, we’ve grown to 7M+ app downloads, 2M+ monthly active users, 7,000+ partner stores, and US$310M+ raised from top-tier investors.
You get real ownership from day one, high standards, and direct communication. You’ll work alongside a team that combines deep local knowledge with experience scaling regulated financial companies from scratch.
About the role:
Salmon operates across the Philippines, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi (ADGM), and our tax position has to hold up in all three at once. You’ll own that.
You report to the Head of Group Tax and work independently across corporate income tax, withholding and indirect taxes, international taxation, structuring, and transfer pricing. Transfer pricing is a core part of the mandate, but not the whole job — you’re the Group’s go-to technical voice on tax, full stop.
This is a hands-on seat for someone who can take a complex tax question, work it through alone, and land on a position the business can act on. You’ll work directly with the Head of Group Tax on live, cross-border problems that shape how Salmon expands — not theoretical tax exercises — with real autonomy and a direct line to the decisions your work informs, across finance, product, and tech.
What you’ll do:
- Research and resolve complex tax questions independently, and translate them into clear positions finance, product, tech, and commercial teams can act on.
- Own tax compliance across corporate income tax, withholding, and indirect taxes — partnering with local teams and external advisors to hit deadlines and document positions properly.
- Evaluate tax implications of new-market expansion, holding structure and capital optimization, profit repatriation, and any future M&A.
- Advise on permanent establishment risk, withholding taxes, indirect tax exposure, and treaty applications, including RMC No. 5-2024 on services performed by non-residents.
- Coordinate with external consultants to build a global transfer pricing framework covering intercompany service agreements, IP/tech licensing, and financial transactions.
- Lead preparation of Local Files, Master Files, and Country-by-Country Reporting, and keep them audit-ready.
- Manage benchmarking studies run by external consultants and confirm they’re applied correctly and kept current.
- Partner with Tech and Product on the tax implications of new launches and geographic expansion.
- Lead technically during BIR or other tax authority audits, including transfer pricing, and build the defense file.
- Monitor intercompany transactions monthly and quarterly against transfer pricing policy, and confirm they’re properly invoiced and documented.
What you’ll own:
- The Group’s technical tax position across three jurisdictions — nothing routes around you on tax.
- Transfer pricing documentation and defense, end to end.
- Tax input on every new market, structure, or product decision that touches tax.
- The BIR audit relationship and defense when it comes.
What makes you a strong fit:
- 6–10 years of broad tax experience spanning corporate income tax, international tax, structuring, and transfer pricing, with a track record of owning complex matters end to end.
- Big 4 tax practice at Manager level, or in-house tax at a fintech, is the ideal path here.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Law; a professional certification is a strong plus.
- Deep working knowledge of OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines and BEPS 2.0, plus BIR and IRAS regulations.
- Can turn dense tax concepts into a straight answer a non-tax stakeholder can act on.
- Comfortable owning ambiguous, competing priorities with minimal oversight.
- Thrives founder-led and high-pressure, and builds process from scratch rather than waiting for one to exist.
What we offer:
Ownership and flexibility
- Stock option plan — four-year vesting with a 25% cliff after the first year
- Hybrid-first work environment
- Company-provided tools and equipment
- Office in Bonifacio Global City, Manila — a modern, walkable district at the centre of the Philippines’ growing tech scene
Health and time off
- Medical insurance support for you and your family through co-funding or reimbursement, depending on your location and subject to policy limits
- Access to an internal mental health support specialist
- 22 vacation days, Philippine public holidays, and 15 sick days
- 105 days of paid maternity leave and up to 14 days of paid paternity leave for employees relocating to Manila
Relocation and family support
- Relocation support for you and your family — including flights, two weeks of accommodation, visas, paperwork, and logistics
- Reimbursement of eligible pet relocation expenses
- USD 2,500 per year for flights home
- Baby and family stipends for employees relocating to Manila: USD 1,000 per month for each child under two and USD 500 per month for each child aged two to 18
Growth and team experience
- Opportunities to learn and share your expertise through internal expert meetups, external conferences, speaking opportunities, and industry publications
- Company-sponsored trips to Manila to meet and work with your team in person
- Regular team offsites, sports activities, and team events
- High-performing teams can earn a dedicated beach house week in Southeast Asia
We believe strong teams are built by people with different backgrounds, experiences, and points of view. Salmon is an equal opportunity employer, and we make hiring decisions based on skills, experience, and potential.
