ABOUT US:
AI NEEDS A NEW INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER. WE'RE BUILDING IT AT MODAL.
Every era of computing brought new workloads that previous infrastructure couldn't support: mainframes, databases, and the cloud. Each time, the company that rebuilt the layer underneath defined the decade. AI is no different, except it touches everything instead of one slice, and the window to build the layer underneath it is open right now.
Our customers include category-defining companies like Ramp https://modal.com/blog/how-ramp-built-a-full-context-background-coding-agent-on-modal, Cognition, DoorDash, and Suno. About Vercel:
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.
Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.
About Startups @ Vercel
The Vercel Startups org exists to help founders navigate the shift to AI-native development with confidence. Startups move faster than ever—what used to take years now happens in days—and the decisions founders make early can either unlock scale or become long-term constraints. We partner with startups at the critical moments where technical, commercial, and strategic support starts to matter most.
We’re a talent-dense team made up of former founders, engineers, and experienced go-to-market operators who bring firsthand experience building, scaling, and supporting modern software companies. Many of us have sat on the other side of the table, making architectural decisions, navigating tradeoffs, and scaling under real constraints, and we bring that perspective into every customer interaction.
We operate with a growth mindset and strong shared ownership. We dig deep to understand our customers, work closely across functions as one team, and find ways to win even when the path forward isn’t obvious. Resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to push through hard problems are table stakes here.
This is a team for people who want to operate with high trust, high agency, and high impact — alongside peers who care deeply about helping startups succeed.
About The Role
You are an expert in Vercel, you have incredible pattern recognition, and are at the bleeding edge of the tech and tools defining how we live and work. In this role, you'll help startups unlock Vercel's full value from adoption through scaling—building relationships with founders and technical leaders who are making critical architectural decisions. You'll analyze usage patterns to identify expansion opportunities, coordinate cross-functional teams to drive outcomes, and guide teams as they adopt AI-native architectures. By leveraging automation and AI to maximize your impact, you'll help refine early plays into repeatable playbooks that scale across our startup portfolio.
If you’re based within commuting distance of our London office, the role includes in-office anchor days.
What You Will Do
Build trusted relationships with founders, developers, and technical leaders by quickly developing deep understanding of their architecture, use cases, and technical constraints
Landing new logos, driving early activation, and making Vercel the default choice before competitors get in
Driving first activation, earning trust fast, and positioning Vercel as the obvious default stack
Focus on pipeline generation, outbound, identifying high-potential startups early
Partner with founders and developers as they adopt AI-native features and architectures, helping them understand how Vercel’s Frontend Cloud fits into a rapidly evolving developer ecosystem and supports new workloads, performance requirements, and scaling patterns
Use automation, agents, and self-built workflows to operate at high leverage and focus time and energy on the most impactful customer work
Operate comfortably in an evolving environment, helping refine early motions and turn what works into repeatable playbooks
About You
We’re looking for someone who sits at the intersection of technical curiosity, commercial excellence, and startup mindset. You identify pattern recognition, have founder empathy, and have the ability to speak credibly to pre-seed through Series D companies and beyond who are making fast decisions.
You might be a great fit if you’ve developed this skill set through a range of paths—whether as a builder, founder, engineer, or in a technical go-to-market role—and you bring strong judgment, ownership, and curiosity to how you work.
In practice, this looks like someone who:
Learns complex technical products quickly and enjoys reasoning about how modern web and AI-native applications are built and scaled
Can speak comfortably with developers and founders, using their language and earning credibility through insight rather than titles
Has strong sales acumen and experience owning revenue outcomes across a range of deal sizes and complexities
Believes that the best revenue outcomes come from deeply successful customers, not transactional selling
Brings a thoughtful, opinionated point of view on modern web infrastructure, frontend performance, and scaling tradeoffs
Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys shaping how a team and motion evolves from early to more structured
Is energized by ownership, accountability, and helping customers make smart decisions
What This Role Is Not
Not a pure Customer Success role focused on reactive support
Not a transactional sales role detached from customer outcomes
Not a highly scripted role with narrow ownership or predefined motions
This role requires judgment, curiosity, and comfort operating across technical, strategic, and commercial dimensions.
Benefits:
Competitive compensation package, including equity.
Inclusive Healthcare Package.
Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
Flexible Time Off.
We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

Join us and help build the platform engineers turn to ship AI products.
THE ROLE
We are looking for Software Engineers to join our team. This is a specialized, high-impact role sitting at the intersection of high-performance computing (HPC) and Large Language Model (LLM) engineering. You will not just be building the automated "speedometer and diagnostic" suite for our next-generation AI infrastructure; you will be defining the roadmap, driving key technical decisions, and taking full ownership of the future of this work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Benchmarking: Evaluate, run and automate standard LLM quality benchmarks (GSM8K, MMLU) alongside custom performance suites for specific workloads (e.g., long-context window, KV cache reuse, disaggregated serving).
- DevEx Improvement: Develop and maintain internal GPU-enabled development environments (similar to GitHub Codespaces). You will ensure the team has seamless, high-performance "dev machines" optimized for model experimentation.
- Tool Development: Build and contribute to open-source tools such as InferenceMAX and genai-bench to automate model evaluation, benchmarking and analysis.
- System Profiling: Use profilers like PyTorch Profiler, NVIDIA Nsight Systems and py-spy to collect performance profiles, identify bottlenecks, and debug the compute/networking stack.
- Monitoring & Observability: Develop real-time dashboards and alerts to monitor system health, model startup times, and runtime performance.
- Continuous Integration: Automate performance testing via CI/CD pipelines to catch regressions and build release workflow automation for the model runtimes stack.
- Optimization Automation: Build tools to find the "Pareto frontier"—identifying the absolute best configuration (latency vs. cost vs. quality) for a given model and workload.
REQUIREMENTS
This is a mid-senior, high leverage role. We care about your technical depth, strong communication skills to drive cross-team efforts, ability to navigate vague requirements and mentor other engineers. We want to talk to you if you have:
- A Love for Systems & Hardware: You aren’t just interested in the AI; you want to understand GPU memory subsystems, InfiniBand, and how data moves across a cluster.
- An Automation Mindset: You believe that if a task has to be done twice, it should be scripted. You have a passion for stress-testing and fuzzy testing to find the "breaking point" of a system.
- Mathematical Curiosity: A desire to understand the underlying math of Transformers and how it translates into FLOPs and memory requirements.
- Technical Toolkit: Familiarity with Python, and an eagerness to master the NVIDIA software stack. C++ familiarity is good to have.
WHY THIS ROLE
- Direct Impact: Your tools will be the gatekeeper for what defines "good" performance for our customers.
- Deep Learning (Literally): You will gain world-class expertise in GPU orchestration and LLM inference that few engineers in the industry possess.
- High Ownership: As the lead of a small team, you will have the autonomy to build tools from scratch and contribute to open-source projects.
BENEFITS
- Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
- (U.S. only) 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
- Flexible PTO policy including company wide Winter Break (our offices are closed from Christmas Eve to New Year's Day!)
- Paid parental leave
- Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot
- (U.S. only) Company-facilitated 401(k)
- Exposure to a variety of ML startups, offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities.
Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey in shaping the future of AI! If you are a motivated individual with a passion for machine learning and a desire to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.
At Baseten, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, genetic information, disability, or veteran status.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable law (by example, the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, where applicable).

About the role
Finance at Descript isn’t a back office function. It’s a strategic partner in shaping where and how we grow. This role exists to turn insight into leverage, helping the company make smarter bets, allocate capital effectively, and improve the efficiency of our go to market engine. You will report to the VP of Finance and operate as a senior individual contributor with high ownership.
Your scope covers the full growth funnel, from top of funnel through conversion, retention, and ARR. You will own GTM and growth models, partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Growth, and Data teams, act as a thought partner to GTM leadership on goal setting, performance tracking, and identifying growth opportunities across self serve, product led, and sales led motions.
We are looking for someone who sees GTM finance as both analytical and strategic. Someone who enjoys building models and metrics, but also shaping the narrative around growth. You are comfortable working directly in SQL, navigating imperfect data, and translating complexity into clear recommendations that influence how Descript grows.
What you will do
Own Descript’s top of funnel and growth models, from signups to paid conversion to ARR and retention.
Own sales-led revenue forecasting, including pipeline modeling, win rates, sales capacity, and quota-driven ARR.
Build and maintain GTM financial models including ARR builds, channel performance, cohort analysis, and scenario modeling.
Partner deeply with the data team to define metrics, improve data framework, and enable reliable self-serve analytics for finance and GTM.
Design and maintain dashboards for key GTM metrics such as signups by channel, conversion rates, new ARR, retention, and payback.
Identify growth opportunities across self-serve, product-led, and sales-assisted motions and quantify their impact.
Define GTM goal setting frameworks and track performance against targets.
Analyze marketing and growth efficiency, including ROI, CAC, payback, and funnel conversion.
Support pricing, packaging, and monetization initiatives with clear financial analysis.
Communicate insights to leadership in a clear, decision-oriented way, including exec and board materials when needed.
What you bring
7 to 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, GTM finance, growth analytics, or related roles at SaaS companies.
Strong GTM intuition with hands-on experience in top of funnel analysis, ARR modeling, and revenue forecasting.
Advanced SQL skills and the ability to self-serve data end to end.
Experience supporting both B2B and B2C SaaS models.
Strong financial modeling skills, especially around growth scenarios and funnel dynamics.
Experience supporting monetization experiments, pricing, and packaging
Experience partnering with data teams and working with large, imperfect datasets.
Clear communicator who can translate data into actions and recommendations.
Comfortable with ambiguity, high ownership, and building things from scratch.
Solid understanding of SaaS metrics across PLG and sales-led motions.
If you don’t tick every box above, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’re building a diverse team whose skills balance and complement one another.
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $215,000/year. Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, and location, and may vary from the amount above.
