CloudLinux is a global remote-first company delivering Linux infrastructure and security products. The Director of Corporate Development reports to the CFO and leads the company's inorganic growth agenda, including acquisition pipeline management from origination through evaluation and post-close integration, as well as strategic alliances, joint ventures, and major commercial partnerships. The role partners with the CFO on long-term strategy and financing (debt and equity). Key responsibilities include building and maintaining a pipeline of acquisition targets aligned with strategic priorities, cultivating relationships with bankers and brokers, conducting outreach to founders and owners, maintaining disciplined pipeline records, designing and applying a standardized screening and scoring methodology for opportunities, preparing evaluations and financial models, coordinating due diligence across financial, legal, and human dimensions, leading counterparty diligence, supporting deal structuring and negotiation, tracking completed transactions against original theses, building acquisition and integration budgets, incorporating acquisition impacts into forecasts and operating plans, owning post-close integration plans and financial integration, tracking synergies and costs, identifying and structuring strategic alliances, joint ventures, and commercial partnerships, maintaining partnership pipelines, partnering with leadership on 3-to-5-year growth strategy, supporting capital formation activities, and building the corporate development function including hiring and coaching team members.
Requirements include 8+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory with direct origination experience; experience conducting or coordinating due diligence; ability to build institutional-quality financial models; experience presenting to executive or investment committees; knowledge of software or recurring-revenue business models; exposure to post-merger integration; experience structuring alliances, joint ventures, or commercial agreements; experience with debt or equity financing processes; and contribution to multi-year strategy work.
Soft skills required are composure under pressure, low ego, persistence, sound commercial judgment, attention to detail, effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, discretion, integrity, and accountability.
Additional valued attributes include an MBA, Big Four transaction advisory or software industry experience, experience founding or first hire in finance or corporate development, established network among software-sector bankers or brokers, and experience partnering with FP&A functions.
