DevOps Engineer II, Edge and Developer Experience

Responsibilities: — Contribute to the edge proxy platform by maintaining, upgrading, and extending a high-performance reverse proxy, including writing automation in Go and Python, managing container images on hardened Linux bases, and working with CDN and traffic management. — Build and maintain cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt modules for EKS clusters, load balancers, IAM roles, and AWS services. — Operate Kubernetes clusters by managing multi-region EKS deployments via GitOps workflows such as FluxCD and ArgoCD, and Helm charts. — Support CI/CD pipelines by designing, maintaining, and improving shared GitLab CI/CD pipeline templates with embedded DevSecOps guardrails. — Automate operational tasks including container image patching, EKS AMI rotation, and automated patching cycles. — Manage observability by provisioning and maintaining Datadog SLOs, monitors, and dashboards, and participate in on-call rotation responding to incidents. — Support Developer Experience initiatives by assisting in rollout and integration of platforms to reduce cognitive load for engineering teams. — Apply AI tools to improve project execution, infrastructure design, and debugging within the domain. Requirements: — 2–4 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering. — BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience. — Hands-on experience with Terraform for cloud infrastructure management. — Experience with Kubernetes operations and AWS services including EKS, VPC, IAM, and ECR. — Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, preferably Go or Python, for operational automation. — Experience designing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD. — Familiarity with container image security practices and GitOps workflows. — Strong operational mindset with willingness to participate in on-call rotations and incident response. — Excellent verbal and written communication skills. — Fluency in English. — Familiarity with leveraging AI-based workflows to author or maintain code/infrastructure. — Legal eligibility to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis. Nice to Have: — Understanding of reverse proxies, API gateways, or load balancers such as NGINX or HAProxy. — Familiarity with FedRAMP or AWS GovCloud operational constraints. — Experience managing Datadog resources via infrastructure as code. — Experience integrating internal developer portals or feature flag management tools.
