For this role, you’ll have at least 5 hours daily overlap with our UK-based Finance team. Hi there, I'm Rene Pavlides, Head of Finance at TestGorilla. I’m excited to share more about the Billing & Accounts Receivable Analyst role and our team. ABOUT TESTGORILLA At TestGorilla, we're on a mission to place 1 billion people in their dream jobs. To democratize opportunity, we’re building the world's leading skills-based talent discovery platform - one that replaces reliance on resumes with scientific validation of what people can truly do. Founded as a 100% remote company in 2020, our global team is united by high standards, a lot of heart, and a relentless drive to conquer new technological frontiers. We’re all AI-fluent builders who care deeply about replacing bias with fairness. After empowering thousands of companies to hire smarter and faster, we’re now unlocking the next phase of our scale-up journey - where you'll play an instrumental role in creating a world where skills matter most! ABOUT THE ROLE As our Billing & Accounts Receivable Analyst, you'll own customer billing, accounts receivable and collections for our subscription business. You'll investigate invoice and payment discrepancies, resolve them directly with customers, reconcile billing and payment records against the ledger, and fix the processes that keep causing them. You'll join a lean, three-person, AI-empowered Finance team, working directly with our Head of Finance and Senior Financial Controller, with lasting and broad ownership from day one. Billing, AR, collections and reconciliation are core, permanent responsibilities. What grows is the build side. As you learn our systems and reporting definitions you'll take ownership of MRR/ARR reporting, and we'll expect you to automate the manual workflows behind it rather than maintain them. If you'd rather fix the process than work the queue, that's the part of this job that gets bigger. RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, your responsibilities will include: - Upholding TestGorilla's behaviors and fostering an inclusive, supportive culture. - Owning customer billing end to end, including invoicing, subscription changes, payment queries, refunds, failed payment recovery, credit notes and corrections within agreed approval limits, and working with Customer Success on complex or sensitive billing cases. - Owning accounts receivable, collections and dunning (via Upflow), resolving failed payments and billing disputes directly with customers. - Getting to the root cause of recurring billing issues and fixing the underlying process, rather than just resolving individual cases as they come up. - Owning reconciliations across billing, payments, subscription reporting and the ledger, explaining timing and definition differences, and producing MRR/ARR movement reporting and analysis that helps Finance understand what has changed and why. - Improving and introducing Finance automations around AR, billing and reporting, and moving routine work towards exception-based processing. - Supporting billing platform, pricing and packaging changes from a Finance perspective: defining requirements, testing outcomes and monitoring exceptions, and partnering with Product and Engineering when a technical change is needed. WHAT YOU'LL BRING We're looking for someone who: - Is passionate about TestGorilla's mission to help one billion people find their dream jobs. - Has excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. - Thrives in a high-autonomy, async-first, remote-only environment. - Has personally owned customer billing and AR or collections, including investigating exceptions and following issues through to resolution. - Has personally resolved complex customer billing or payment issues directly with customers. - Has run customer billing in a subscription or other recurring-revenue business, and is hands-on with a subscription billing platform such as Chargebee, Zuora, Recurly, Stripe Billing, Maxio, Paddle or similar. - Is skilled at reconciliation, and able to independently work through why two financial or customer datasets don't agree. - Has strong Excel or Google Sheets skills. - Is comfortable using AI and automation to reduce manual work, and can point to a recurring Finance process they personally improved or automated. Most people in this role will have at least four years of relevant experience. We haven't set an upper limit, because we care far more about what you've owned and how you've progressed than the number of years. We seek diversity and encourage applications from everyone, even if your experience doesn't exactly match the description. Studies show that women and underrepresented groups can be hesitant to apply unless they meet every requirement - let's buck that trend! BONUS SKILLS While these skills aren't a requirement, we'd be very interested to hear from you if you have any of the following: - Experience with a subscription billing platform such as Chargebee, Zuora, Recurly, Stripe Billing, Maxio or Paddle. - Experience with a collections platform such as Upflow. - MRR, ARR, churn or subscription-revenue reporting. - SQL or self-service BI tools such as Looker, Metabase, Power BI or Holistics. - Experience building or maintaining automations using tools like Claude, n8n, Zapier, Make or Python. - Multi-currency billing, pricing/packaging changes, or ERP migrations. - A professional accounting qualification. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Please note: In this role, you’ll be hired as an Individual Contractor. - Global Team: Join a fully remote, mission-driven team from around the world. - Competitive compensation: Receive competitive pay of between €43,440 and €54,300 per year + Share Appreciation Rights (SARs). - Remote & flexible work: Work from almost anywhere*. Enjoy flexible hours and asynchronous work to balance work and life. *Check out the countries we currently hire from here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bzBZ38P6zt02s96S9OsF8MnM1tq1JccB-g75gcnKpPw/edit?usp=sharing. - Remote work budget: €1,000 available each year, or up to €2,000 from day 1 if you're buying a laptop! - Growth & development: Invest in yourself and your career with a 3.5% L&D budget per year and clear growth opportunities. - Parent/Caregiver support: We provide a caregiver-friendly work environment with paid 8-16 week parental leave and tailored return-to-work approaches. - Work-life balance: Our unlimited and flexible time off policy empowers you to take the time you need to recharge and maintain your well-being.
