- Communication: Strong discovery, listening, and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ownership: Comfort working on a lean team with evolving priorities, fluid customer coverage, and processes that are still being built.
- Collaboration: A resourceful, team-oriented approach to solving problems and moving opportunities forward.
- Organization: Strong pipeline discipline and proficiency with CRM tools.
- Bonus: Familiarity with identity and access management products such as SSO, Directory Sync, or Audit Logs.

About the role 💭
We’re hiring an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers at WorkOS. We’re looking for a leader who is excited to manage engineers, but approaches the role as a startup founding member would.
This role is ideal for someone with a builder’s DNA and you will play a key role in shaping product decisions, driving technical strategy, and empowering your team to execute on high-impact projects.
You will also play a pivotal role in scaling the team, recruiting exceptional engineers. You’re not just excited about software—you’re obsessed with building the best developer platform.
Responsibilities ✔️
- Build and lead high-velocity teams that ship product fast and with polish
- Be deeply technical and hands-on: read the PRs, write prototypes, jump into the weeds
- Take raw ideas and turn them into working systems, even if you have to duct tape the first version
- Rally your team even when there is ambiguity, setbacks, or tough customer asks—run through walls when needed
- Push for clarity, focus, and high energy in every sprint. Drive urgency without burning people out
- Drive alignment on the roadmap and become an expert on customer needs related to the product areas your team owns
- Spend time with customers and engineers alike—digging into pain points, testing assumptions, and improving the craft
- Coach, mentor, and build a team of curious, scrappy, driven engineers—people who want to grow fast and build great things
Qualifications 🌟
- Track record of having successfully led product-focused engineering teams in high-performing organizations that shipped real impact
- You've written code at a high level, and you still love to get your hands dirty. You view leadership as an amplifier, not a step back
- Bias for action and scrappiness: You don’t over-optimize for process. You optimize for velocity, customer value, and learning
- You deeply care about the developer experience. You think about UX, APIs, performance, edge cases, and joy
- You ask "why" obsessively, and you push yourself (and your team) to learn constantly
- You build trust, give direct feedback, and create space for engineers to thrive
- You have experience partnering with internal recruiting teams to drive effective and fair hiring processes. You realize that recruiting is a large (and important!) part of your role. A track record of recruiting, hiring, and mentoring top engineering talent.

About the role 💭
We’re looking for a commercially minded, AI-native BDR who enjoys understanding what technical teams are building and finding thoughtful ways to start conversations with them. You’ll combine account research, AI-assisted prospecting and engagement with the startup community to create qualified opportunities for our sales team. This is a hands-on outbound role: researching accounts, reaching out, following up and qualifying prospects are central to the job.
Responsibilities ✔️
- Creative Outbound Prospecting: Generate new leads through targeted outbound activities, including cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, events and other channels. We are looking for resourcefulness and innovation crafting new outbound strategies.
- AI-Powered Workflows: Build and improve lightweight AI-assisted workflows for account research, identifying relevant buying signals and preparing outreach. Validate sources, review messages before sending and use results to refine your approach. The goal is more relevant conversations and qualified opportunities, not automation or message volume for its own sake.
- Account Research: Research and identify key prospects, decision-makers, and stakeholders within target accounts to tailor your outreach efforts. Understand what a company is actually building — their stack, their auth setup, their scaling problems.
- Lead Qualification: Engage with prospects to understand their pain points, business needs, and how WorkOS can help solve their challenges, qualifying them for the sales team.
- Pipeline Development: Set up high-quality meetings and demos for Account Executives by nurturing leads through the sales funnel.
- CRM Hygiene: Diligently log all prospecting activities, conversations, and pipeline data in Salesforce (or other CRM systems) to maintain accurate records and forecast pipeline health.
- Metrics-Driven: Meet and exceed monthly quotas for outbound activities, including the number of meetings set, emails sent, calls made, and qualified opportunities created.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, WorkOS product developments, competitor offerings, and what's changing in AI and developer tooling — so you can position yourself as a trusted advisor to technical buyers.
Qualifications 🌟
- Experience: You have experience creating opportunities for a product, business or community. That could come from sales development, growth, partnerships, community building, a startup or your own project. A BDR title isn’t required, but you should be able to explain how you identified an audience, earned their attention, followed up and turned interest into a meaningful next step.
- Target Personas: Experience outbounding to cofounders and CTOs.
- AI-Native: You have personally built or materially improved an AI-assisted workflow and used it in practice. You can explain the problem, how the workflow works, what you contributed and how you checked its output. You know where automation helps and where human judgment is essential, and can describe what improved or what you changed when it failed.
- Community Engagement: You actively engage with startup or technical communities and can share how you have contributed, learned from others or built useful relationships. This might happen through your work, online discussions, events, customer communities or a project. We value curiosity, consistent contribution and thoughtful follow-through, not the size of your network or who you know.
- Writing Skills: Able to independently craft messages and campaigns to technical leaders. You use AI to draft and scale, but you have the judgment to know when the output isn't good enough to send.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft personalized messages that resonate with different audiences.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfort with understanding technical products and effectively communicating the value of WorkOS to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bonus if you can read API docs, poke at a codebase, or have shipped something yourself.
- Tools: Experience with a modern sales stack and AI tools. Examples include Salesforce, Gong, Loom, Outreach, Claude, ChatGPT and Clay; experience with these specific tools is not required.
- Curiosity & Adaptability: Willingness to learn, adapt quickly to new strategies, and stay curious about the industry and your prospects' needs.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, self-sufficient, and able to manage your time effectively.
- You are located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, able to work locally, available for in-person meetings with clients and customers, and able to attend in-person events as needed.

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are looking for research engineers to build the safety and oversight mechanisms that govern how our models handle biological knowledge. As a bio safety researcher, you will spend your time: designing and running capability evaluations against frontier models, generating and curating training data for our safety classifiers, training and iterating on those classifiers alongside our ML engineers, and measuring how they hold up against adversarial pressure in production traffic.
This work sits at the intersection of applied ML and biosecurity. You will help define what responsible AI safety looks like in the biological domain, translating threat models into evals, datasets, and deployed systems. The core technical tension you will own is precision: safeguards need to be robust against sophisticated actors while staying out of the way of the far larger population of legitimate researchers using Claude to accelerate life sciences work. Getting that tradeoff right is an empirical problem, and you will be the person measuring it.
You do not need to be an ML researcher today. We are looking for strong scientific programmers with real depth in modern biology who want to bring that depth to bear on model evaluation and classifier development.
Key responsibilities
Design, build, and run capability evaluations to assess what new models can do in the biological domain, and turn results into concrete deployment recommendations
Develop training and evaluation datasets for our safety classifiers, working with internal and external threat modeling experts to ground them in realistic risk
Train, tune, and iterate on safety classifiers with ML engineers, optimizing jointly for adversarial robustness and low false-positive rates
Build the tooling and pipelines that make evaluation and classifier development fast and repeatable
Analyze classifier and eval performance against production traffic, identify gaps, and prioritize improvements
Design and run red-teaming and stress-testing of safeguards as threats, models, and product surfaces evolve
Partner with Research, Product, and Policy teams to embed biological safety throughout the model development lifecycle
Contribute to external communications including model cards, blog posts, and policy documents
Track developments in biology, ML, and biosecurity for their potential to create new risks or enable new mitigations
Minimum qualifications
Strong proficiency in Python, and extensive background in scientific programming and data analysis skills
Excellent grasp of ML fundamentals and an ability to rapidly adopt ML development practices
Excellent knowledge of modern biology across both measurement and engineering: high-throughput assays and functional characterization, as well as gene synthesis, genome editing, strain construction, and protein engineering
Ability to build and maintain your own tooling rather than relying on others to implement your ideas
Experience designing quantitative experiments or evaluations and drawing defensible conclusions from noisy results
Strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Familiarity with dual-use research concerns and biosecurity frameworks, such as select agent regulations, the Biological Weapons Convention, or Australia Group guidelines
Comfort with ambiguity and with shifting priorities as AI capabilities change
Can work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
Are results-oriented, with a bias towards flexibility and impact
Thrive in a fast-paced research environment where you balance rigorous scientific standards with rapid iteration
Preferred qualifications
Experience working with large language models, including prompting, fine-tuning, or evaluation
Experience training or deploying classifiers or other ML systems in production
Experience developing ML methods for biological systems or biological data
Familiarity with adversarial robustness, red-teaming, or safety evaluation of ML systems
Have at least 8 years of hands-on experience in life sciences, with deep expertise in areas such as molecular biology, drug discovery, or computational biology
Experience leading complex technical projects across multiple stakeholder groups
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$300,000
—
$405,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
For roles performing work in California:
We will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest or conviction records or criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, and the California Fair Chance Act.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Claude App Infrastructure owns the reliability, experience, and agentic capabilities of claude.ai. We're the platform team for Anthropic's flagship consumer product, responsible for the serving architecture that keeps Claude available at scale, the conversation experience, and the infrastructure that lets every product team at Anthropic ship into claude.ai safely and fast. When the product grows at hyper scale, we're the team that makes sure it feels the same or better.
Beyond the foundation, we're building the agentic layer that turns claude.ai from a chat surface into an execution surface: task execution, personalization, browser use, and server-side tools. This is where the next generation of the product gets built: the primitives that let Claude act in the world, not just respond. We believe reliability and velocity are the same problem, and our job is to build the systems that make both inevitable.
Key responsibilities
Design and build sandboxed compute environments where Claude can safely execute code, access tools, and interact with external services
Build state management systems for long-running agent tasks, handling checkpoints, recovery, and resumption across failures
Develop authentication and authorization frameworks for delegated access, so Claude can act on behalf of users securely
Create observability and debugging tools for agent execution, so we understand what Claude did, why, and how to make it better
Partner closely with product and research teams to define what's possible and ship it
Minimum qualifications
Experience building distributed systems, infrastructure, or platform services at scale
Comfort building cloud native infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or Azure
Experience with containers, sandboxing, or secure execution environments (e.g., gVisor, Firecracker, V8 isolates)
Write clean, maintainable code in Python, Go, Rust, or a similar language
Care about security, isolation, and building systems that fail safely
Preferred qualifications
Comfort with ambiguity and greenfield work where you help shape the architecture
Interest in problems that don't have existing playbooks
Experience building multi-tenant execution platforms or serverless infrastructure
Background in security engineering, sandboxing, or isolation technologies
Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems (Temporal, Airflow, Step Functions)
Experience with state machines, checkpointing, or durable execution patterns
Low-level systems experience (Linux internals, eBPF, container runtimes)
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.
For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary:
$320,000
—
$485,000 USD
Your safety matters to us.
