We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/ ABOUT THE ROLE We are hiring an Accounting Automation Engineer to replace manual accounting work across a multi-entity, multi-country enterprise, using Claude Code and agentic AI. You will use Claude Code and agentic AI, plus Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, to automate accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close and the wider day-to-day accounting operation. You need strong IFRS or US GAAP knowledge to get the numbers right, because an automation that posts wrong entries is worse than no automation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The goal is to automate the repeatable core of enterprise accounting, with human review kept only where judgment is needed. Accounts payable - Invoice capture and data extraction from PDFs and email, using AI where useful - Vendor matching, coding suggestions, and 2-way/3-way PO matching - Duplicate invoice detection and approval routing - Payment run preparation and vendor statement reconciliation Accounts receivable - Invoice generation and delivery - Cash application and bank receipt matching - Aging reports, dunning and collections reminders - Credit note handling and bad debt/ECL provision support Reconciliations - Bank and card reconciliations across all accounts and currencies - Balance sheet account reconciliations (prepayments, accruals, deferred revenue, fixed assets) - Intercompany and subledger-to-GL reconciliations - Exception reports that flag only the items a human needs to review Month-end close - Close checklist tracking and scheduled reminders - Recurring, accrual, prepayment and amortization journals - Depreciation runs and FX revaluation - Trial balance checks, flux/variance analysis, and draft commentary - Management reporting packs General accounting operations - Expense report and employee reimbursement checks - Chart of accounts and master data hygiene - Audit support: evidence collection, PBC lists, sample extraction - Data pipelines between ERP, banks, payment platforms and spreadsheets QUALIFICATIONS Two things matter most, and we weigh them above everything else: 1. Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP 2. Real experience with AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code, backed by solid engineering basics We accept two paths: an accountant who learned to code, or an engineer who learned accounting. Both are judged on the same practical test. - Hands-on experience building automations with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript (either is fine) - Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code, with solid engineering basics, shipping working scripts and agents - Ability to run local scripts and schedule jobs (cron, task schedulers or CI pipelines) - Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, shown by ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent, or by several years of hands-on accounting experience - Experience with core processes: AP, AR, bank reconciliation, month-end close - Comfort working with APIs and MCP servers, CSV/Excel data and basic SQL - Care for accuracy, controls and audit trails NICE TO HAVE - Experience in multi-entity or multi-currency environments, including intercompany and consolidation - Experience reconciling payment processor statements across multiple jurisdictions and currencies - Experience with shared cost services that invoice group companies, including complex expense splits and automated invoice generation - Experience with an ERP and its API (which ERP does not matter) - Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows, including tool use and MCP servers - Knowledge of VAT/GST and e-invoicing rules in several jurisdictions - Experience with Git, testing and basic cloud deployment - Prior experience in a finance transformation or accounting operations team - Additional languages, where our entities operate in non-English markets LOCATION Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. In addition to our core business, Workstream is home to a small, fast-moving Robotics team focused on advancing the next generation of artificial intelligence and robotics. We partner with a leading AI and robotics company to produce high-quality, large-scale egocentric (first-person) video datasets that help train advanced AI models. Here are our Company Values and we’d love to have individuals who can be a culture add to our team! Grow With Us We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Robotics Data Collections team. This role will keep the footage flowing, from a stuck upload at a capture site to the dashboard screen the operations team reads every morning. Your users are real people a few metres away: the operators and contributors recording every day. When something breaks, it's their hours, their pay, and their patience on the line, and this role exists to care about that deeply. You'll see your users face to face at capture sites, hear them in the support channels, and build with them in mind. Every day, capture sites record hours of footage that must land safely in the cloud. When it doesn't (a stuck upload, an unreadable card, an app refusing to finish, hours that don't add up), you are the engineer who finds out why, unblocks it without losing data, and then improves the software so it explains itself next time. The work spans every surface the operation touches: a desktop app site staff use to offload and upload footage, a phone app contributors record with, web dashboards and reports, and the physical devices themselves. You'll build on some of these surfaces and debug on all of them. You are also the engineering voice site staff hear every day. Our operations run on Slack, across time zones. Operators post a screenshot of an error and ask what it means and what to press next. The core engineering team wakes up hours later and reads what you wrote to understand what happened in the field. This role lives in that conversation, translating between confused screenshots and root causes, in both directions. This is an AI-first job. The operation is scaling faster than any team could answer tickets one at a time, so we don't. You'll use AI agents as a daily multiplier: to write diagnostics while you're still reading the error, to investigate many stuck uploads at once, to draft the guide while you fix the cause. This role will start as a contractor position, with a high likelihood of transitioning to a full-time role after three months, depending on business needs and performance. What it's like Small, fast-moving team; your work shows up in the operation the same week. A mix of support conversations, focused software days, and field days at capture sites. AI agents are a first-class part of how the whole team works. You'll work directly with the Day In The Life Product engineering (40%) Build features in the desktop and mobile apps. Ship improvements to the desktop app site staff run every day (offloading cards, uploading, seeing what landed) and the phone app contributors record with: better flows, clearer states, fewer ways to get stuck. Build the dashboards and reports the operation runs on. Hours and progress reports, upload accounting, status screens: make the numbers trustworthy and the words on screen say what's actually happening. Write software every week, with AI as your leverage, across the desktop app (Electron), the phone app (React Native), web dashboards (React/TypeScript), and Python services and tooling. You'll routinely have AI agents write and iterate on diagnostics, tests, and features with you. Field support & debugging (35%) Run the daily support loop. Be the first responder in our support channels when site staff hit upload, app, or device problems; answer in plain language, unblock them fast, and follow through until it's resolved, not just explained. Diagnose and unblock the upload path. When footage is stuck between a capture card and the cloud, trace where and why (device, card, app, network, cloud), get it moving again safely, and make sure nothing is lost or double-counted along the way. Scaling the operation (15%) Solve classes of problems, not instances. Every question the ops team has to ask an engineer twice is a gap; turn recurring ones into self-serve screens, clearer error messages, AI-powered diagnostics, and guides operators reuse. Your goal is that the operation can grow without support growing with it. Devices & hardware (10%) Be hands-on with devices when the problem is physical. Use AI-written tests to check why a camera or battery isn't behaving, open a device to inspect it, and swap parts like cameras and buttons. No soldering. You'll also help put beta hardware in operators' hands and report what breaks. Who You Are Deep care for the user. The operators and contributors using what you build are people you'll know by name; their lost hour bothers you until it's found, and "works on my machine" isn't done. Flexible, fast, and scrappy. You'd rather ship a working fix today and improve it tomorrow than design the perfect one next week; you're comfortable when this month's job looks different from last month's. A willing debugger and problem-solver. You can follow data through a pipeline with many stages, form hypotheses, write quick tests (with AI's help), and follow the evidence rather than guessing, wherever the problem lives. AI-leverage mindset. You already use AI tools well and they multiply you; when problems repeat, your instinct is to build something that solves the whole class rather than working through them one by one. You treat the challenges of a scaling team and operation as the fun part, not the fine print. Strong communicator, concretely. With site operators and contributors, you answer "what does this error mean?" with what it means and what to press right now, in plain words, and you write step-by-step guides a non-technical person can follow on the first try. With the operations team and core engineers, you write down what you saw and tried, pick up a thread someone left overnight, ask good questions, and keep a problem moving across time zones until it's solved. A collaborator across teams. You stay patient on the fifth "it's still not working," and people finish a conversation with you knowing exactly what to do next. Care for data integrity. In our world, a lost or double-counted recording is someone's unpaid hours; you treat that seriously. Self-directed. You'll often be the only engineer on site, supported by a remote team in other time zones. Preferred Qualifications Solid software fundamentals: working Python, comfort in Linux (services, logs, networking), and the ability to build app UIs Strength in at least one of web (React/TypeScript), desktop (Electron), or mobile (React Native), and the willingness to become productive across all three and debug anything Daily, effective use of AI coding tools and agents Clear written English for remote, asynchronous work Located in Metro Manila, and able to travel to capture locations regularly Nice To Have Experience shipping Electron or React Native apps to real users Experience in a support-adjacent engineering role: field engineering, solutions engineering, IT for operations teams Hardware tinkering: Raspberry Pi and single-board computers, cameras, taking devices apart; 3D printing for jigs and mounts Familiarity with cloud storage, upload pipelines, SQL/Postgres, or fleet/IoT management Know More About Workstream https://www.workstream.us/blog/funding-series-b https://techcrunch.com/2021/08/26/workstreams-text-based-recruitment-tool-gets-a-48m-bet-from-bond-and-beyond/ https://techbuzz.news/buzzworthy-august-27-2021/ Additional Information Workstream provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. Location: San Francisco, CA | New York City, NY About Anthropic Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the Role: As a Manager of Startups Applied AI Architects at Anthropic, you will drive adoption of frontier AI by leading a team of technical architects to help startups build AI-native products with the Claude Developer Platform. Your team is expected to win the trust of founders and engineers by supporting their technical ambitions from early product to scale. You'll bring your own builder credibility and startup instincts to the role — setting the vision for what great technical partnership looks like in the startup segment, developing a high-performing team, and personally carrying relationships with Anthropic's most strategic early-stage accounts. This is a role for a proven technical go-to-market leader who knows how to build teams that move at startup speed, earn the trust of deeply technical buyers, and turn a scrappy early engagement into a lasting technical partnership. You'll define the playbooks for nurturing and scaling new customers, set the bar for technical excellence, and grow the people — while staying close enough to the ground to know what's actually working. You will partner with sales leaders and work as one team to support your customers. Responsibilities: Lead, develop, and grow a team of Startups Applied AI Architects — setting a high bar for technical credibility, customer impact, and startup-paced execution Drive team performance through clear goal-setting, regular coaching, and a culture of continuous technical development Personally lead pre-sales engagements with high-priority startup accounts, from initial technical discovery through deployment and expansion, modeling what great looks like for your team Build and own the segment's technical playbooks: how to run technical evaluations, develop customer-specific eval frameworks, architect LLM solutions for resource-constrained early-stage teams, and win against competitive alternatives Partner with aligned Account Executives and GTM leadership to shape segment strategy and drive Claude API adoption across the startup ecosystem Ensure your team consistently surfaces insights on how startups are building with Claude — emerging use cases, deployment patterns, architectural decisions — and translate that signal into actionable feedback for Product and Engineering Drive cross-functional influence across Sales, Product, and Engineering to advance startup customer needs and shape roadmap priorities Build Anthropic's technical presence and credibility in the startup ecosystem through events, conferences, workshops, and content Stay ahead of the AI engineering landscape — context engineering, eval frameworks, agentic architectures, developer tooling — and ensure your team is operating at the frontier You may be a good fit if you: Have 8+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or similar), with 5+ years leading and managing pre-sales or technical go-to-market teams Have a strong track record of building and developing high-performing SA teams — you know how to hire well, coach effectively, and create an environment where technical talent grows and does their best work Have deep experience working with startups or high-growth technology companies — you understand the velocity, constraints, and culture of early-stage companies and know how technical decisions get made at each stage of the journey Bring genuine builder credibility: you've built and deployed LLM-powered applications, you speak the language of founders and founding engineers, and you can earn the trust of deeply technical audiences without relying on a title Have hands-on expertise with context engineering, LLM evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architectures, and can guide both your team and customers through the decisions that separate a prototype from a production-grade system Are comfortable with Python and fluent in the LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns common in startup engineering stacks Are energized by building in ambiguous environments — you're excited to define the playbook, not just run it, and you thrive in fast-moving contexts where the technology and the customer segment are both evolving rapidly Have a genuine passion for making powerful technology safe and societally beneficial Strong candidates may have: Experience as a technical founder or in a founder-led sales motion, giving you firsthand understanding of what technical buyers in the startup world are actually evaluating A track record of winning competitive technical evaluations against other LLM providers Experience building foundational team infrastructure from the ground up: hiring frameworks, onboarding programs, technical playbooks, and coaching systems in a high-growth environment Deep familiarity with how developer infrastructure procurement evolves from seed through Series B and beyond, and how to adapt your team's approach accordingly A visible technical presence in the startup or AI engineering community through conference talks, written content, or open-source contributions The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $315,000 — $380,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
