WordPress VIP
is the world’s leading enterprise content management platform. We help the world’s largest companies (including Meta, Salesforce, and Disney) create innovative digital experiences with WordPress.
About the role:
As one of the fastest growing areas of Automattic, VIP presents a unique opportunity for experienced Account Executives to help take us to the next level. We're looking for AEs who are passionate about what WordPress can do for our existing customers.
Your style is to listen and learn from prospects, positioning VIP as the best Content Management System for the Global 2000. You don’t sit and wait for leads to come to you. Instead, you research the market, identify opportunities within specific verticals, and design a sales strategy that is both high-touch and creative, thereby helping to create the best possible positioning to develop new business for WordPress and VIP.
You’ll be closely working with SDRs as well as have full leverage of our Marketing teams to create compelling outreach and content, but you’ll be generating your own leads alongside that.
You view enterprise customers and their messages as important parts of the web, and you can see how WordPress VIP and Automattic can help them along their journeys. You pride yourself in establishing long-term relationships and doing what’s best for the customer. You enjoy telling stories, doing demos, and giving “the pitch,” and are comfortable talking to CMO’s and CTO’s.
Responsibilities:
Drive significant revenue growth by securing new enterprise clients and expanding existing accounts.
Establish and nurture strategic C-level relationships that position VIP as a critical business partner.
Successfully manage both transactional deals and large multimillion-dollar opportunities.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline information, and drive strategic improvement of forecasting processes.
Develop and execute innovative, vertical-specific sales strategies that accelerate market penetration.
Actively engage in pipeline generation activities, including regular outbound prospecting.
Enhance the product offering by providing valuable customer insights to inform the VIP roadmap.
Elevate WordPress VIP's brand and reputation in the enterprise CMS space through high-impact engagements.
Contribute to a high-performing sales culture by sharing best practices and mentoring team members.
Requirements:
7+ years of enterprise software sales experience, preferably in SaaS or CMS-related technologies.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales quotas.
Strong understanding of enterprise software, IT landscapes, and content management systems.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Proven experience in solutions-based selling and closing enterprise-level deals.
Ability to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships.
Experience in managing and growing business within named accounts and verticals.
Comfortable working with executive-level prospects, negotiating terms, and reviewing contracts.
Self-motivated with a drive to achieve revenue and growth targets, both individually and as part of the company.
This role requires you to have a deep understanding of the technology and platforms that we run, and be able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders such as engineers and content creators. Moderate travel is required as well.

WordPress doesn’t try to keep its users inside walled gardens, a rare thing in a world that is dangerously moving away from the open web. Instead, WordPress gives them the freedom to build a business website, an online store, or a personal blog – the way they like it. Big sites or small, using the community-run
open source project
or Automattic’s
WordPress.com
, vanilla or customized with hundreds of plugins, WordPress users always get to own and control their data, their expression, and their freedom.
We’re always looking for talented and experienced engineers worldwide, excited to help Automattic’s product ecosystem, and join our mission to make the web a better place.
What have we worked on recently?
AI is at the heart of many
new product developments
and powers a lot of our day-to-day development workflows.
WooCommerce
is the most popular and most flexible e-commerce platform on the web. We're working tirelessly on giving you all the control, while keeping the platform fast and stable.
Gutenberg
is a new block-level editor for WordPress with clean abstractions for users, too, not just developers.
Tumblr
is a microblogging social network where users create, share, and follow what they love.

How do we work?
We’re
kind to each other
and our users – we build a positive, supportive, and inclusive culture of cohesive teams focused on building useful products for our customers.
We work as a global and distributed workforce resulting in a unique way of working built around
our creed
.
We offer flexible work arrangements allowing our team members to work when they feel best.
We open-source! We’re cool with
open-sourcing
everything except passwords, or secret keys.
We ship often,
deploying many
times daily with the help of peer code review, continuous integration, and our global workforce in over 70 countries.
We welcome collaboration, and you can be involved in any discussion across our many communication channels.
We encourage you to learn and develop and we support you with what you need – covering expenses, easy internal mobility, coaching.
Enough about us, let‘s talk more about you. Working at Automattic might be a good fit if:
You care and often obsess over the quality and the details of your work.
Debugging any problem is a fun challenge and not a chore.
Understanding the layers of abstraction below and above your work isn't something extra, but how you operate.
You have production experience with several programming languages, frameworks, and paradigms. We mostly use PHP and JavaScript at Automattic, we expect you to be comfortable with the idea of becoming an expert in these languages, even if being one isn't a requirement to apply.
In your mind abstraction is associated as much with cost as it is with value.
You have experience working at scale – it can be on the backend and performance side, or via the complexity of interacting with a multi-million diverse userbase.
Are open and able to travel 3-4 weeks per year to meet up with your teammates in person.
These are exciting times at Automattic and you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape the future of our products. Join us! We look forward to hearing from you.

At
Automattic
, we have the power to create opportunities for people in every corner of the earth. We offer flexible, challenging, and rewarding careers with true impact and scale. You could be on the outskirts of a jungle, living a nomadic life out of a van, in a major city or a small town that doesn’t have a central business district—as long as you have an active Wi-Fi connection, you can be an Automattician.
We’re seeking experienced Technical Account Managers to join our
Newspack
team—individuals who combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, thrive on complexity, and believe in the power of collaborative problem solving.
This role requires someone who can think strategically and work independently while thriving in a highly collaborative team environment. You'll balance technical problem solving with relationship management, applying broad experience across multiple areas rather than deep expertise in just one. The Newspack platform and its applications are vast and continuously evolving—there's no way any one person can hold it all in their brain, which makes our team's collaborative approach essential to success.
This is a blended role that combines migration project management with ongoing publisher support. You'll typically manage multiple concurrent migration projects while also contributing to our shared support responsibilities, helping publishers optimize their use of Newspack post-launch. This balance ensures that you stay connected to both the launch experience and the long-term publisher relationship, providing you with insight into the full publisher lifecycle.
The role requires flexibility and strong organizational skills to shift context between project work and support work—between heads-down, independent tasks and collaborative team problem solving. If you thrive on variety and can maintain momentum across different types of work, you'll find this structure engaging and rewarding.
As a Newspack Technical Account Manager, You Will:
Manage publisher migrations from alignment through launch, owning timelines and coordinating a variety of stakeholders across technical and business requirements. You’ll proactively navigate obstacles, make strategic decisions about scope and priorities, and ensure successful outcomes even when facing unexpected challenges. Your project management will strike a balance between thoroughness and momentum, keeping complex initiatives moving forward while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
Develop close relationships with news publishers by understanding their business goals, operational needs, and technical challenges. You’ll troubleshoot technical and editor-facing issues as they arise, help publishers leverage and optimize Newspack's features, set realistic expectations that align with our scope of support, and proactively identify opportunities to drive customer success.
Maintain a deep and current knowledge of the Newspack platform, WordPress functionality, and the news publishing landscape. You’ll provide top-notch guidance to publishers, identify product improvement opportunities based on publisher needs, surface bugs and feature requests, and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues. Your closeness to publishers will make you a valuable voice in shaping the product’s evolution.
Work independently using existing resources to solve problems efficiently, while actively engaging with the team to share learnings, contribute to discussions, and drive continuous improvement. You’ll participate in our highly collaborative team culture: sharing unique solutions, seeking input on complex challenges, and contributing to the collective knowledge that helps all of us serve publishers better. This balance between autonomy and collaboration is crucial to our work approach.
Develop and refine project management, time management, and communication systems to work more effectively and efficiently. You’ll document solutions, identify patterns across projects that could inform process improvements, and contribute insights from your work to enhance our workflows, product features, and publisher success strategies.
In this role, success means:
Meeting launch timelines while maintaining quality and managing scope effectively.
Building strong publisher relationships that lead to successful long-term partnerships.
Responding to publisher needs and providing timely, effective support.
Thinking strategically about both individual projects and broader process improvements.
Collaborating openly with the team, sharing knowledge, and continuously learning.
Maintaining product expertise and contributing insights that improve Newspack for all publishers.
About you:
Solid working knowledge of
WordPress
core functionality, common plugins, and the WordPress ecosystem. (You don’t need to be a developer, but you should be comfortable troubleshooting WordPress sites and understanding how things work under the hood.)
Background in client services, account management, or technical support, where you’ve managed relationships and solved problems directly with customers.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and dependencies—proactively, not just reactively.
Comfort with technical troubleshooting, investigating root causes, and finding creative solutions within constraints.
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and set appropriate expectations.
Benefits
Open vacation policy (no set number of days per year). We encourage all employees to take the time they need for vacation, to pursue their own interests, to stay healthy, and to spend time with friends and family.
Home office setup and coworking allowances. Working from a coffee shop? You can use your coworking allowance for the requisite latte!
We happily provide or reimburse the hardware and software you’ll need, as well as books or conferences that promote continued learning.
Company-sponsored life insurance.
Open parental leave (includes maternity, paternity, and adoption). If you’ve been with Automattic for 12 months, your leave is fully paid.
A spiffy set of wireless headphones at your seven-year anniversary.
Paid two to three-month sabbaticals encouraged every five years.
We cover all costs of company travel, so dust off that passport! Your team will get together one to three times per year in locations around the globe. Other benefits are country-specific and include health, vision, and dental insurance; matching retirement/pension contributions; childcare vouchers; income protection; travel insurance; and discount offers.
Salary range: $73,000-$130,000 USD
Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
We’re only considering candidates based in North America at this time.
We are searching for high-caliber candidates with the skills and qualities to have a net positive for Automattic. Pay will reflect the potential contribution and the impact you can bring, which may, in some cases, go beyond the range stated.

Metabase is the easiest way for people to get insights from their data, from tiny startups who get up and running quickly to major corporations with tens of thousands of users. That's why people love us.
We bring data tools with the elegance and simplicity of consumer products to the crufty world of enterprise business intelligence. We provide an opinionated open source starting point for how companies should measure, analyze and share their data, which is used by tens of thousands of companies.
Metabase is looking for a customer-focused, technical Open Source Community Advocate to join our growing global team! We are looking for someone who loves data analytics, enjoys helping others, and is excited to work for a startup to help drive our Success Engineering team’s mission to help our customers be successful by guiding them on how to get data from all the various places it lives, transform it into useful shapes, or to convert their questions into actual queries that can be executed. You will help and build relationships with our customers in the public places they hang out (like LinkedIn, Twitter, Reddit, and data slack communities), providing help to Metabase users using our open source and for-fee products. Our discourse forum is often the first resource that comes up when our customers search for issues, and it’s used by Metabase customers big and small.
A typical day will involve a mix of answering our users on our discourse forum and helping customers on Twitter or other social channels. Any given week, you might correspond with our users to hear what they’re trying to accomplish, collaborate with our writing team, or participate in brainstorming sessions on what content we should create for our customers.
Why Success?
We are the voice for our customers. Our product team reviews our feedback, asks us for advice, and engages with our customers proactively. We have a writer on our team who reviews what questions our customers are asking and improves our documentation, so the next customer doesn’t have to ask. We also work closely with an engineering team focused on critical issues and our escalations, so we don’t have to worry about our customers being impacted by major bugs for a long time.
We’re 100% remote, and our operations are designed that way. People work during the times that work for them. You are not expected to be “on” at all times, and there are no points for responding quickly to every Slack you receive.
We don’t overpromise our customers. Since we’re open source, our customers can see what we’re doing in our Github repository and our roadmap is publicly available for our customers at all times.
Many companies use the word “success” to describe jobs that are really sales jobs or account management jobs with quotas. We are not about that. We’re exclusively here to make sure our open source users, our future customers who are currently on trials, and our current paying customers all get the appropriate help they need to be successful.
If you want to take part and have a voice in a truly growing business, believe that BI analytics should be easy to use and set-up, and that self-service analytics should be a real thing and not just some marketing jargon that people put on their websites, please apply!
Being an Open Source Community Advocate at Metabase would be a great fit for you if you:
Enjoy helping people and solving their problems
Have a strong technical background (minimum of 3 -5 years writing production code or administering systems)
Have experience with using data visualization or data analytics tools (bonus if you have experience using Metabase)
Have excellent written communication
Are comfortable being the face of Metabase during webinars or in-person events
You have expertise in at least one of:
Running Metabase on a variety of operating systems for multiple years
Strong background in networking and how web applications function
Managing servers (either physical, or Docker, or AWS/GCP/etc)
Managing databases and strong SQL skills
It’s not required, but a plus if you:
Are fluent in multiple languages (this is helpful as our users are world-wide)
Compensation
The US base salary range for this role is $67.9K–$183.5K annually, plus equity and benefits.
Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, and scope of responsibility. Pay may vary by geographic location and other job-related factors.
Benefits
We offer meaningful equity and a comprehensive US benefits package, including fully employer-covered medical, dental, and vision insurance (with 75% coverage for dependents), a 401(k) with employer match available to enroll after the first 30 days, flexible and unlimited paid time off including sick time, and an asynchronous, remote-first environment.
We're a global team (50% outside the US), fully distributed (from Thailand to California), who get things done asynchronously, with plenty of uninterrupted time, supporting each other to do the best work of our careers. We offer flexibility (define your own schedule and work from wherever you want), autonomy, and an environment that fosters growth, learning, and development. We're relentlessly user-focused and believe in building long-term value, not short-term hacks. And we raised a $30M Series B to take our approach to the next level for years to come.
For U.S. applicants: Metabase participates in the federal E-Verify program, which confirms employment authorization of newly hired U.S. based employees. E-Verify is not used as a tool to pre-screen candidates and is only initiated upon hire.
