The Electronics Technician - ILI Systems & Equipment owns the full lifecycle of PIPECARE Western Hemisphere’s electronics assets - bench-level preparation, testing, calibration, repair, and reliability support across the region’s inspection technologies (Caliper, MFL, UTWM/UTCD, and EMAT), the tracking and locating equipment that supports every mobilization (AGM units, toolmounted transmitters, and pig locators) - together with management of the electronics store, tool inventory, consumables, and the component requisitioning that ties it all together.
Given the size of WH’s tool fleet and its annual tool-prep volume, this is designed and resourced as a single-incumbent role covering both functions. It shall be noted that PIPECARE has subsidiaries around the world and, although the Electronics Technician reports to the Shop Supervisor, the responsibility of the Electronics Technician is to ensure that all tasks related to the Western Hemisphere are executed according to the plan, corporate standards, and policy approved by the Corporate Office.
Job Functions, Responsibilities & Authorities
A. Tool Preparation, Testing & Calibration
• Follow approved written instructions, schematics, and design specifications to assemble and prepare Caliper, MFL, UTWM/UTCD, and EMAT tools, using test equipment, hand tools, and precision soldering techniques.
• Perform electronic assembly, soldering, rework, and inspection in accordance with approved workmanship procedures, ESD-control requirements, and applicable IPC standards.
• Perform bench and pull-rig/test-loop calibration of sensors, magnetizers, transducers, odometer wheels, and IMUs against reference standards ahead of every mobilization, in accordance with approved procedures and calibration requirements.
• Execute dry-run and pull-test acceptance procedures; a tool is not released until every acceptance criterion is met and signed off.
• Conduct pressure testing of external electronics and containers.
• Perform final check, calibration, and sign-off on tools prior to mobilization.
• Assemble experimental circuitry or prototype builds per engineering instructions for R&D and internal projects.
B. Battery & Power Systems
• Build, test, and capacity-verify battery packs against run-duration requirements, with margin for delays
• Rebuild, rewire, and replace battery packs and individual cells only in accordance with approved procedures, applicable safety requirements, and authorized competency limits.
• Monitor pack health and flag batteries approaching end-of-life before they cause a field failure.
• Ensure battery packs are handled, packaged, labeled, and documented correctly for every shipment, domestic and cross-border, in accordance with applicable DOT/IATA lithiumbattery transportation requirements and company procedures.
C. Tracking & Locating Equipment (AGM, Transmitters & Pig Locators)
• Prepare, install, and battery-test tool-mounted tracking transmitters (electromagnetic, acoustic, or magnetic) ahead of every mobilization, confirming signal strength and battery life cover the full expected run duration.
• Maintain and pre-run test Above Ground Marker (AGM) units: battery and solar power systems, antenna and geophone accessories, GPS time synchronization, and onboard data storage.
• Maintain and battery-test handheld and vehicle-mounted pig locators/receivers used by field crews to track tool progress and pinpoint a stopped or stuck tool.
Maintain pig signallers and passing indicators at launch, receive, and key trap locations, including mechanical trigger, battery, and alarm function checks.
• Retrieve and back up AGM passage data after each run and provide it promptly to the Data Analysis team in the required format for odometer/IMU correlation.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty tracking equipment returned from the field; hold any unit that fails pre-run acceptance out of service until repaired and re-tested.
• Maintain a dedicated inventory of spare transmitters, AGM units, locators, batteries, and antennas sized to WH’s mobilization schedule, so a failed unit never delays a launch.
D. Repair, Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair completed tools, field returns, and incoming PCBs in accordance with approved procedures and electronic workmanship requirements.
• Perform component-level fault diagnosis using multimeter, oscilloscope, and related diagnostic equipment
• Operate drills and other machine tools to fabricate or repair tool components (flaps, connectors, etc.)

• Maintain failure, repair, and component-replacement history for critical electronic assemblies and use recurring failure data to support preventive maintenance and reliability improvements.
E. Electronics Store & Inventory Management
• Own the electronics store: components, spares, consumables, tool accessories, small tools, and tracking/locating equipment (transmitters, AGM units, locators).
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming components and materials against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Maintain accurate, current inventory records in the company’s ERP or an equivalent tracking system sized to the store.
• Organize, label, and store all inventory in a safe, systematic, and easily auditable manner.
• Set and monitor minimum/maximum stock levels sized to WH’s actual tool-prep volume, avoiding both stockouts and excess/obsolete stock.
• Conduct periodic physical counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Perform cycle counts at the frequency established by company inventory procedures and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain serial/lot traceability and shelf-life or expiry controls where applicable, and classify critical spares according to their potential impact on mobilization readiness.
• Issue components and consumables against tool-prep and repair jobs.
• Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock and recommend disposition.
F. Procurement & Ordering
• Identify component, material, and consumable needs proactively – ahead of tool-prep schedules, not reactively.
• Source suppliers and obtain quotations for components, spares, and consumables.
• Prepare and submit purchase requisitions in line with PIPECARE procurement policy and approved budget; the position does not have independent purchasing or supplier-approval authority unless formally delegated.
• Track order status and coordinate delivery timing against tool-prep and mobilization schedules.
• Maintain basic supplier records and flag recurring quality, pricing, or lead-time issues.
G. Documentation & Reporting
• Enter daily activity into the ERP / Tool Prep Report / Activity Register the same day
• Maintain calibration certificates and measurement-traceability records for tools, sensors, reference standards, and test instruments; identify and quarantine equipment that is overdue or out of tolerance and escalate any potential impact on completed work in accordance with the applicable procedure.
• Download, verify, and back up tool data promptly after every run
• Maintain work areas in a neat, tidy, and HSE-compliant manner
H. Other
• Execute other reasonable tasks in support of Shop/Workshop priorities as they arise.
Skills/Experience
• College education in Electronics, or equivalent hands-on/apprenticeship experience
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant work experience; prior exposure to in-line inspection (ILI) tools (Caliper, MFL, UTWM/UTCD, EMAT) is a strong plus.
• Solid knowledge of electronic instrumentation and measurement.
• Good experience in soldering, calibration, and testing of electronic PCBs and equipment.
• Working knowledge of inventory/stock management; experience maintaining stock records or running a parts store is a plus - formal supply-chain credentials are not required at this store’s scale.
• Comfortable handling basic procurement/requisitioning tasks: obtaining quotations, raising requisitions, and tracking deliveries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; comfortable learning the company’s ERP/inventory-tracking system.
• Attention to detail, quality focus.
• Ability to work effectively under time pressure and changing mobilization priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Familiarity with pipeline pig tracking/locating equipment (EM/acoustic transmitters, AGM units, handheld locators) is a plus – not required to start, but expected to be picked up quickly.
• Self-motivated, creative, critical, and curious – genuinely engaged with the work, not just executing instructions.
• Valid driver’s license (local supplier pickups / parts runs).
• Ability to handle inspection-tool components within company-defined limits; work in a workshop environment; stand/walk for extended periods; use required PPE; and work safely around machinery, batteries, and electrical/electronic equipment.

British English AI Product Evaluator
🎯
The Project
Productive Playhouse is building a talent pool of British English speakers for an upcoming project testing and evaluating leading AI chatbots. The objective is to enhance response quality through direct user interaction with the various AI models.
Open to freelancers based outside the U.S.
This is more than one job. Apply once, and we'll keep you in mind for this project — and future ones that need your language skills.
The Details
We’re looking for independent contractor engagement (task-based - project-based).
Pay Rate: $18.00 USD per hour
You choose which tasks to take, set your own hours, and are free to work with other clients any time. You can stay flexible as the project evolves.
This is an iterative project, work arrives in batches (there may be pauses between them).
What You’ll Do
As an AI Evaluator, you'll play a critical role in shaping and improving the next generation of Generative AI. You'll participate in structured, hands-on evaluations by interacting directly with various AI models to assess their capabilities, safety, and helpfulness. Your insights and data will directly inform model development and optimization.
Exact tasks vary by project and will be spelled out in that project's Statement of Work (SOW) before you start. Depending on the role, your work may include:
Testing and evaluating AI chatbots or language models through structured conversations, using assigned goals and prompts.
Voice-based interactions with AI models — for projects that involve this, sessions are recorded, and audio may be shared with the client as part of the evaluation deliverable.
Submitting deliverables (write-ups, ratings, screenshots, or recordings) in the format each task specifies.
✅ What We're Looking For
Native or expert-level fluency in English, as spoken in the United Kingdom
Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills - assessment maybe required
18 years of age or older
Hands-on experience using AI models or large language models
Comfortable with both written and voice-based conversation — and good at asking sharp follow-ups
Your own smartphone, computer, reliable internet, and comfort with web-based tools
Able to pass a language proficiency and technical literacy assessment
Responsive communicator — quick replies move you through onboarding faster
Able to start within 48 hours

Requirement:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Looking for an impactful and exciting role with a strong focus on product design? Join Productive Playhouse as a Product Manager and help shape the experience across Central and pZero, our company internal linked contributing platform. In this flexible, remote role, you’ll turn user insights and stakeholder needs into thoughtful product solutions while partnering closely with engineering and cross-functional teams. No production frontend coding is required.
Key Responsibilities
Own the daily product loop for Central and pZero, from user evidence and problem definition through requirements, delivery, rollout, and adoption.
Translate user evidence and stakeholder input into clear product briefs and PRDs, including problem, scope, exclusions, success measures, and acceptance criteria.
Lead product design for core Central and pZero workflows, including journey mapping, information architecture, prototyping in Figma or an equivalent tool, and usability testing.
Partner with the external engineering team throughout delivery, clarifying requirements and keeping work moving through review and release.
Bring Product Quality into the work early enough to shape journeys, testability, and release evidence.
Own rollout and adoption for shipped features, ensuring intended users can find, understand, and use new functionality.
Track product outcomes after release, including adoption, task completion, cycle time, rework, defects, support burden, and the amount of follow-up required from the Director of Product.
Own manager-facing and worker-facing product documentation, including onboarding materials, tutorials, how-to guides, and release education.
Maintain a practical, shared design foundation with Iron Forge covering navigation, forms, tables, statuses, errors, permissions, accessibility, and responsive behavior.
Maintain shared product knowledge in company-approved project and knowledge management systems, including roadmap, decisions, user evidence, product behavior, and release learning.
Use approved AI tools and shared skills to improve the speed and quality of research, writing, analysis, prototyping, and documentation.
Collect and prioritize input from Operations, Product Quality, Engineering, support signals, and client programs.
Bring well-supported recommendations, backed by evidence and tradeoffs, to the Director of Product on major product decisions, while owning routine and reversible decisions independently.
Perform other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
If selected to move forward in the recruitment process, candidates will be required to complete a pre-assessment. Completion of the required assessment is a prerequisite for advancement to the next stage of the selection process.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience in product management or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated experience as a product owner or product manager, ideally within AI workforce product; scope of ownership matters more than years of tenure.
Hands-on product or UX design experience, ideally including journey mapping, prototyping, and usability testing.
Proven ability to turn incomplete or conflicting stakeholder input into a clear, bounded product problem.
Experience working closely with engineering teams as a partner, not solely through ticket handoffs.
Comfort using data to make or evaluate decisions, including recognizing when available data is insufficient.
Experience owning outcomes after release, including adoption, documentation, and iteration based on real usage.
Working familiarity with AI tools for research, writing, prototyping, and documentation, with clear human review and accountability.
Strong written communication skills, able to produce material that developers, operators, managers, and users can act on directly.
Ability to work effectively across distributed teams and manage ambiguity without creating unnecessary noise.
Comfortable inspecting product behavior, reading technical material, and working with data; production coding is not required.
Cross-functional collaboration and conflict resolution skills, with the decisiveness expected of a single-threaded owner.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Occasional travel may be required for special meetings, training, or team gatherings at the company’s headquarters or other designated locations.
Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, etc.
Strong visual acuity for reviewing detailed documents and data on computer screens.
Manual dexterity for operating a computer, including using a keyboard and mouse.
Ability to lift and carry office supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Clear verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across teams.
Capacity to manage tasks that require prolonged periods of focus and concentration.
Ability to handle the physical demands of a standard workweek, which may include occasional overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, if needed.
