Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!
Figma is a data-driven organization, and Data Platform builds the foundation that makes that possible. The platform powers everything from core business metrics and product analytics to the applied AI and experimentation systems that teams across the company rely on to build and make decisions. In this role, you'll lead engineers across Data Platform through their next phase of scale, setting technical direction, growing the team, and partnering broadly across the company.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Figma:
Lead and grow a team of engineers building and operating Figma's data platform, owning delivery, technical direction, and team health
Set the roadmap and technical strategy for your sub area, and provide hands on technical leadership where the team needs it
Drive the reliability, scalability, and forward strategy of the platform as adoption grows across the engineering and product organization
Hire, grow, and coach engineers and tech leads, raising the bar and building a healthy, inclusive, high-performing team
Partner with Data Science, Product, Finance, and Engineering to identify the highest-leverage priorities and drive alignment
Make sound build versus buy decisions, including evaluating and managing platform vendors where it makes sense
Keep delivery predictable while balancing near-term execution with long-term platform investment
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
3+ years managing engineers, including senior ICs or tech leads, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams
Demonstrated experience building and scaling data platform or data infrastructure systems in a production, online environment
A strong software engineering background with senior or staff-level technical depth before moving into management, and enough current depth to set direct technical direction
Strong partnership mentality and the ability to manage multiple cross-functional stakeholder groups such as Data Science, Product, Finance, and Engineering
Ability to set technical direction, drive alignment, and prioritize clearly under ambiguity, paired with strong written communication
While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
Expertise in large-scale data processing systems, including batch, streaming, or applied AI and ML workloads
Familiarity with experimentation or feature flagging platforms
A track record of evaluating and managing vendor relationships
A demonstrated ability to develop tech leads and scale hiring at pace
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

At Linear, we're building the product development system for teams and agents. AI is fundamentally changing how software gets built, and we’re shaping the tools this new era requires.
Founded in 2019, Linear has become the platform of choice for more than 40,000 companies (including OpenAI, Coinbase, and Ramp) to plan, build, and ship their products. Today, our team is distributed across North America, Europe, and Australia, and we’re continuing to grow internationally. What unites us is relentless focus, fast execution, and a deep care for software craftsmanship.
The Data team works across Linear, supporting Product, Engineering, and GTM. We own our data pipelines, warehouse, dashboards, analysis, and integrations with third-party tools. As a small team, we focus on building systems that make data accessible and useful across Linear. We’re looking for someone who wants to help shape how we architect, build, and use data as we grow.
Location & work mode
Linear is a remote-first company, with optional co-working offices in San Francisco, New York, and London. This role is open to candidates based in North America. You can work from anywhere within this region. We value deep focus and async collaboration, with intentional moments to connect in person through team off-sites, optional co-working, and occasional travel.
What you’ll do
- Work across Product and GTM (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance) to turn ambiguous questions and operational needs into useful metrics, models, analyses, and workflows
- Build and maintain dbt models and pipelines that create trusted views of our product, customers, and business
- Design clear, maintainable data models and improve the testing, documentation, performance, and reliability of our data stack
- Build dashboards and self-service reporting in Metabase and Hex, and dig deeper when the answer requires more than a chart
- Operationalize data through reverse ETL and partner with GTM Engineering on the scoring, segmentation, automations, and internal tools that help our teams scale
- Balance fast, pragmatic answers with durable solutions, recognizing when a one-off request should become a reusable model or workflow
- Find ways to leverage emerging tools, LLMs, and coding agents to accelerate development, analysis, testing, and documentation while maintaining a high bar for correctness
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data analytics, or data engineering, ideally at a fast-moving software company
- Exceptional SQL and strong hands-on experience with dbt and a modern cloud data warehouse
- Track record of owning data projects end-to-end, from shaping an ambiguous problem to shipping something people rely on
- Strong data modeling judgment: you think clearly about grain, reusable components, interfaces, dependencies, and maintainability without relying on a single prescribed methodology
- Analytical judgment: you know when to answer quickly, when to investigate deeply, and how to turn complex findings into a clear recommendation
- Comfortable moving between technical implementation and business context, from debugging a data model to understanding product adoption or sales efficiency
- High ownership mentality: self-directed, pragmatic, and willing to challenge a request or approach when something does not make sense
- Strong communication skills and experience partnering directly with both technical and non-technical teams
- Comfortable using LLMs and coding agents as part of your day-to-day development workflow
Our tech
This stack reflects the systems you’ll work in. You’re not expected to have experience with everything listed, but you should be comfortable learning quickly and working across the full lifecycle of data.
- Data Warehouse: Snowflake, dbt Cloud
- Dashboards / Analysis: Metabase, Hex
- ETL / rETL: Hevo, Fivetran
- GTM tools: Hubspot, Pocus, Clay
What we offer
We're a small, focused team that cares deeply about the quality of our work and the people we do it with. Here's what you can expect:
- Competitive salary and equity
- Employee-friendly equity terms including early exercise in the US and extended exercise windows
- Daily meal and coffee stipend on every workday
- Paid co-working space or desk
- Health coverage (based on country requirements)
- 5 weeks paid vacation, plus local statutory holidays
- 4 months paid parental leave
- Paid month off after 4 years & every 2 years thereafter
- Regular team events and off-sites
- Remote-first with no required commute

We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on.
Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions.
As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact.
During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
Fivetran and dbt Labs are building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We're looking for a staff software engineer to be a technical leader on our Metadata team, which owns the metadata layer of the dbt platform — the discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history services that let customers understand, trust, and act on what their data is doing.
As a
Staff Software Engineer
, you'll contribute to the technical direction for the team. You'll own the architecture of major subsystems, lead complex projects that span multiple engineers, and raise the bar for design and code quality across the team. You'll spend your time on the hardest technical problems, and multiply the team through design reviews, coaching, and mentorship.
This is a full-time, fully remote position. We do expect the successful candidate to come to the Oakland, CA office from time to time.
Technologies You'll Use
Python, GraphQL, Postgres, Snowflake, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, Datadog
What You'll Do
Lead the design and delivery of complex, team-level projects across the Metadata services, coordinating development across multiple engineers
Independently design and develop the architecture of new subsystems, and own team-level subsystems end to end
Use AI tooling and agents — across development and SDLC artifacts such as TDDs, PRDs, post-mortems, and test plans
Review and approve technical designs, ensuring they meet a high quality bar, and identify design deficiencies before they ship
Drive technical initiatives across the team's responsibility areas — discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history
Set and uphold design, architecture, and coding best practices, and hold teammates accountable for code quality
Coach and mentor engineers, demonstrably improving the quality of code across the team
Write technical specs, document common components, and keep the team accountable for necessary project documentation
Fix and optimize critical parts of the codebase, drive incident follow-through, and advance the reliability and performance of the services you own
Participate periodically in the on-call rotation
Skills We're Looking For
8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading complex, team-scope technical work to completion
Deep expertise designing and owning subsystems in distributed, cloud-based systems
Demonstrated ability to set technical direction for a team and drive multi-engineer initiatives across an area of ownership
Excellent design and architecture judgment; identifies design flaws in existing systems and proposes sound solutions with clear trade-offs
Writes exemplary, well-tested code that serves as a model for others, and reliably estimates and delivers sprint to sprint
Strong track record of raising quality through code review, coaching peers, and enforcing accepted engineering practices
Experience partnering with QE on test strategy and owning operational health — incidents, post-mortems, reliability, and performance
Proficiency in a modern backend or systems language such as Python, Java, C++, or C#
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and managing dev infrastructure
Fluent in using AI code assistants and coding agents to generate and investigate code, and conversational AI (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to author, review, and synthesize SDLC artifacts — and able to model those practices for a team
Bonus Skills
Experience in data processing (ETL, ELT) and/or cloud-based data platforms
Experience architecting metadata, catalog, lineage, or discovery/search systems
Experience with GraphQL APIs and high-throughput, multi-tenant data services
Familiarity with the analytics engineering workflow and the dbt ecosystem

This role can be based in either San Francisco or New York City. We work from our offices on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (our Anchor Days) because we do our best thinking and building together in person. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to work alongside the team during those days.
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
- Shape and build the core frameworks that enable reading and writing data in Notion, integrating feedback from internal customers along the way, using whatever tools are required for the job, such as AWS, Postgres, NodeJS, TypeScript, React on the frontend.
- Design new systems and abstractions that improve developer productivity, reliability, and performance by handling entire classes of problems up-front for product engineers.
- Solve hard technical challenges such as designing abstractions for efficient traversal of the user content graph, building a system to sync user content for offline use, or scaling our permission model to serve large customers with complex content.
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED TO BRING:
- Thoughtful problem-solving: For you, problem-solving starts with a clear and accurate understanding of the context. You can decompose tricky problems and work towards a clean solution.
- Pragmatic and business-oriented: You care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly. You're not just going after cool stuff—you understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
- Strive for simplicity: You think critically about the implications of what you're building, and aim for the most simple and well-crafted design. You understand the consequence of complexity, and are motivated to eliminate them.
- Not ideological about technology: To you, technologies and programming languages are about tradeoffs. You may be opinionated, but you're not ideological and can learn new technologies as you go.
- Empathetic communication: You communicate nuanced ideas clearly, whether you're explaining technical decisions in writing or brainstorming in real time. In disagreements, you engage thoughtfully with other perspectives and compromise when needed.
- Team player: For you, work isn't a solo endeavor. You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals, and you care about learning, growing, and helping others to do the same.
NICE TO HAVES:
- You have leveraged the features of typed languages (e.g. TypeScript, Flow) to drive code migrations, or have implemented your own data modeling paradigms (e.g. writing your own ORM, sync engine, or query language).
- You have seen how fundamental abstractions scale within a large codebase, and are curious about how different organizations solve similar problems (e.g. TAO by Meta, Zanzibar by Google).
- You've heard of computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, and others—and understand why we're big fans of their work.
- You have interests outside of technology, such as in art, history, or social sciences.

At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure.
Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users.
Our platform is trusted by over 7 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In February 2026, we raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $260M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development.
We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you.

From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data.
Fivetran + dbt Labs is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We're looking for a Manager to lead and grow our Customer Solutions Architect (CSA) function within the Field Engineering team in EMEA, driving expansion and retention across our Commercial and Enterprise books. You will manage a team of CSAs responsible for the post-onboarding strategic technical ownership of Fivetran + dbt Lab’s most important customers from initial engagement through ongoing adoption, workload expansion, and long-term revenue growth.
This role sits at the intersection of technical depth, commercial impact and strategic excellence. You will ensure customers realise expanding value from Fivetran + dbt Labs through structured workload-based engagement, foster and evangelise a culture of proactive, data-driven customer ownership across the Revenue Org, and lead initiatives alongside senior stakeholders that continue to mature the CSA function both in-region and globally.
This is a full-time position based remotely out of Ireland. Whilst all Solution Architect positions are remote, we encourage being in the office where possible. Furthermore, our SAs also do their best to be onsite with customers in-person; travel therefore is optional but encouraged.
This position will report into the EMEA Director of Customer Solutions Architecture, working alongside a leadership team that encompasses a Principal CSA.
What You'll Do
As a CSA Manager, you will:
Lead a team of Senior and Lead Customer Solutions Architects across NEMEA, DACH, and France/Benelux, ensuring high-quality post-sales technical ownership across Fivetran + dbt Lab's Enterprise portfolio.
Own accountability for the expansion and retention outcomes across the assigned book, measured on Incremental ARR (iARR), Net Revenue Retention (NRR) and Gross Revenue Retention (GRR), ensuring book coverage, engagement depth, and measurable outcomes across regions and verticals.
Develop and mature the CSA function, formalising methodology, reinforcing operational discipline, and evolving the ways the team operates to scale across the Enterprise segment.
Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering leadership (RVPs, SE Managers, and their teams) to align the CSA motion with regional GTM priorities, ensuring the Pod (AE / SA / CSA) operates as a single account team rather than three parallel functions.
Oversee half-yearly portfolio planning, including CSA to AE pairings, tier assignments, vertical ownership, and coverage across regional and specialist territories.
Enable team development and growth, providing 1x1 coaching, managing career development plans (CDPs) against the CSA competency framework, and creating an environment where senior, tenured technical ICs continue to grow.
Cultivate the operational and AI-driven stack that sits at the foundation of the CSA role, that gives the team a proactive, data-first view of the book and ensure the team continues to treat it as a differentiator.
Work with partners and other GTM stakeholders to unlock cross-portfolio expansion, particularly with Snowflake, Databricks, dbt and adjacent technology partners.
Have a signal-based mindset for identifying attrition and churn risks, using the platform and holistic data available to you to build plans alongside customer stakeholders for protecting accounts and thus protecting revenue.
What We're Looking For (Skills & Experience)
Leadership experience in post-sales technical roles (Customer Solutions Architecture, Technical Account Management, Delivery Solutions Architecture, or equivalent), ideally within SaaS, cloud, or data integration environments.
Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to tie post-sales technical engagement directly to measurable business outcomes (iARR, NRR, GRR).
Technical familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery), data integration technologies, and modern data stack tooling (including dbt).
Experience managing senior, tenured technical ICs, with the ability to add value beyond individual technical depth by leading through coaching, calibration, and cross-functional advocacy.
Stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior cross-functional peers (Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Partners) and senior customer stakeholders alike.
Data-native management style, comfortable using data and AI tooling in your own practice: pulling your own numbers, using LLMs and agent-based tools to inform decisions, and treating operational tooling as an input to your judgement.
Cross-regional adaptability, comfortable working effectively across different sales cultures, languages and customer profiles within EMEA.
Analytical mindset, with comfort in leveraging metrics to drive accountability and decision-making.
Adaptability and growth orientation, thriving in dynamic environments and helping scale functions globally.
Nice to Have
Knowledge or practical use of Fivetran and/or dbt. If not those tools specifically, then industry equivalents (data integration platforms such as Airbyte, Matillion, Stitch, Talend, Informatica; transformation tooling such as Coalesce, SQLMesh, or similar).

ABOUT RAMP
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Customer Success Managers at Ramp drive value for customers and revenue for the business by ensuring fast, effective onboarding and activation of newly closed customers. As a Senior Scaled CSM, you’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality outcomes at scale while helping shape the processes, playbooks, and customer strategy that fuel Ramp’s growth.
You’ll own a high-volume portfolio of micro-SMB and micro-MM customers, balancing efficiency and personalization through strong judgment, structured execution, and thoughtful use of scalable motions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, operates with high ownership, and consistently drives customer outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own the end-to-end onboarding and activation of a large portfolio of micro-SMB and micro-MM customers, driving customers to full Ramp adoption within 60 days through efficient, scalable motions.
- Lead onboarding with strong executive presence, setting clear agendas, controlling call flow, and driving as much progress as possible in minimal touchpoints.
- Ensure fast, thorough, and complete implementation by educating customers on Ramp functionality, best practices, and the “why” behind key workflows.
- Confidently navigate and position Ramp’s full product suite, including Cards, Bill Pay, Travel, Treasury, and Accounting integrations, tailoring recommendations to customer workflows and business goals.
- Deeply understand customer workflows, pain points, and blockers, and problem-solve alongside Product, Engineering, and Support when needed.
- Drive revenue by minimizing implementation delays and reinforcing the value of Ramp as a core financial operating system.
- Use customer data, usage signals, and patterns to prioritize outreach, identify risk, and intervene proactively.
- Balance implementation work, follow-ups, proactive outreach, and group onboarding while maintaining a high bar for quality.
- Partner closely with Product to surface customer feedback, identify trends, and influence roadmap priorities.
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve onboarding processes, contributing to playbooks, enablement materials, and scalable best practices.
- Act as a multiplier for the team by sharing insights, patterns, and coaching peers through examples and collaboration.
- Help maintain an industry-leading customer experience while operating at high volume and pace.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 5+ years of experience in Customer Success, Account Management, Sales, or a related customer-facing role in B2B SaaS.
- Proven success managing a high-volume book of business while consistently driving customer outcomes.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to lead confident, structured customer conversations and handle objections effectively.
- Experience balancing scale and personalization through group onboarding, automation, and targeted 1:1 engagement.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to share feedback, troubleshoot issues, and ideate solutions.
- Data-informed mindset with experience using metrics and signals to guide decisions and assess risk.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding key performance metrics in fast-paced environments.
- High adaptability and comfort navigating ambiguity in a scaling organization.

You are execution-oriented, and understand the need to target your “innovation budget” for the greatest impact: you find the middle ground between “perfect, but takes forever to code” and “fixes it now, but nobody will ever be able to understand what I did”
You know how to design and code systems and software that is effective, intuitive, easy-to-operate, and elegantly simple
You have worked with the relevant tooling and techniques: cloud services, network protocols, serialization, relational databases, etc.
You have knowledge of complex structures, object orientation, exceptions, memory management techniques.
Bonus Skills
Experience with data replication, ETL/ELT tools, cloud and software defined infrastructure tools (for instance AWS Cloud Formation, Kubernetes, Docker), API technologies and analytics is definitely a plus
Knowledge of DBMS internals is a strong plus
Familiarity with low level concepts, such as encoding and the internals of network communication, is a strong plus
Familiarity with system level programming (such as process and memory management and inter-process communication) is a plus

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our core team and perform a healthy mix of design and implementation tasks to advance the technical foundation behind the Fivetran product offering.
This team is tasked with evolving a high performance extract-load-trans form data integration system that enables our engineering teams to correctly implement hundreds of data connectors with minimal maintenance effort. The role will challenge you to reason about relational semantics, powerful abstractions, data representation, and software performance. You don’t need to be a subject matter expert before you join us (you will be one before you leave!), but you will need to have experience working carefully with a high impact software team — especially in environments where the best option may not be obvious, your decisions have cascading implications, and where you sometimes need to measure twice before you cut once. A successful candidate will be humble enough to collect diverse input and build consensus, will be experienced and confident enough to be decisive when it’s needed, and will be practical enough to build and iterate on the system while it’s in production. We are also looking for expertise and productivity with both modern and legacy software development environments.
This is a full-time position based out of our Novi Sad office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.
Technologies You’ll Use
C (our main language), Python (used in testing), relational databases (Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server), make
GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Jenkins, GCP , Azure, AWS
macOS/Linux/Unix/Windows, git
What You’ll Do
Learn deeply about Fivetran in order to focus development on practical and relevant system improvements
Contribute to the development and planning of our roadmap
Collaborate with a small but mighty core team, and with a broader set of stakeholders
Work across the project lifecycle: requirements, design, prototype, implementation, review, release, monitoring
Review and approve pull requests
Care and feel ownership of our product, and leverage your skills towards improving it

We are seeking a
Senior Full Stack Engineer
to help build and scale Mattermost's core web platform for teams operating in defense and critical infrastructure sectors. You will contribute across our Go backend and React/TypeScript web frontend, building features that hold up under strict security, compliance, and reliability requirements.
Our engineering culture is AI-forward. We expect engineers to work fluently with AI coding agents such as Claude Code day-to-day — for scaffolding, refactors, code review, and test generation — and treat that as core craft rather than a shortcut. We would rather hire smart people who get stuff done than chase an exact tech-stack match. If you have a track record of shipping and owning complex software end-to-end, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Do
Architect and build full-stack features optimized for scalability and performance across Go, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Redis
Leverage AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor as a core part of your daily workflow while retaining full accountability for correctness, security, and design decisions
Develop internal tooling and testing infrastructure to speed up the team's delivery, including agentic workflows and skills that make AI tooling more effective for the broader team
Own testing strategy across frontend and backend code you ship
Design and consume REST and WebSocket APIs with solid networking fundamentals
Maintain the security and compliance standards required by our government and enterprise clients
Contribute to Mattermost's open-source codebase
What We Are Looking For
Required:
Strong full-stack development experience in Go and React, or a comparable stack
Experience designing and consuming REST and WebSocket APIs with solid networking fundamentals
Relational database experience including PostgreSQL, schema design, and query optimization
Hands-on daily fluency directing AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot for scaffolding, refactors, code review, and test generation — with the judgment to know when to trust the output and when to take the wheel yourself
Bias toward shipping and owning complex software end-to-end without close supervision
Nice to Have:
Experience with distributed systems or high-availability service architecture
Familiarity with enterprise or regulated-environment security requirements
Background in defense, intelligence, or critical infrastructure products
Open-source contributions
Experience working on distributed or remote-first teams
Experience building tools, skills, or workflows on top of AI coding agents including MCP servers, agent skills, or CI-integrated agents
How Success Is Measured
First 90 Days: Shipping full-stack features on the core platform using an AI-forward agentic development workflow and owning testing strategy across the code you ship.
Why Mattermost
Mission-driven work: Your contributions directly support the organizations and missions that depend on secure, reliable collaboration including the U.S. Department of War and critical infrastructure operators worldwide
Remote-first culture: Work from anywhere with a globally distributed, high-trust team built for autonomy and ownership
AI-forward environment: We actively adopt and build AI-enabled workflows. Agentic development is core craft here, not a novelty
End-to-end ownership: Ship and own complex software across the full stack with real accountability for what you build
Open source at the core: Be part of a vibrant developer community shaping the future of secure collaboration
Compensation
Mattermost takes a market-based approach to pay. Actual compensation may vary based on location, skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
Target Salary Range: CAD $162,591–$195,000
Canada Eligibility & Compliance
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada without current or future sponsorship.
This role may require obtaining and maintaining a government security clearance or equivalent designation (such as Reliability Status or Secret clearance under Canada's Controlled Goods Program), depending on customer engagement. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements to be considered.
Given Mattermost's work with U.S. defense and government customers, some positions may also require compliance with U.S. export control laws, including EAR and ITAR, which can apply to non-U.S. based employees working on covered technical data. For more information, visit the Bureau of Industry and Security and the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
Mattermost is an EEO Employer, we are a remote-first, open-source company.
We are continually working to expand our hiring in more countries and regions, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, which takes time.
Mattermost values your unique perspective—we welcome all applicants. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply and are committed to assessing candidates based on their skills and qualifications. We do not tolerate discrimination against staff or applicants based on race, religion, national origin, age, disability, pregnancy status, veteran status, or other personal characteristics.
If you require accommodations during the interview process, please let us know—we’re happy to assist.

APPLYING TO RENDER
We're seeking candidates who possess high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we strive to improve both individually and collectively. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team.
We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply and understand that not all successful candidates will meet each requirement listed.
Our interview process is unique to each role, and we value the candidate experience just as much as our customer experience. We hope your conversations with us reflect a thoughtful process that is illuminative, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Engineering Manager for Product Engineers, you will lead a group of talented builders creating the core developer experience of the Render platform. This role blends strong technical leadership with product thinking: you’ll partner closely with product managers and designers to translate user needs into high-quality, scalable systems that developers rely on every day. You’ll be responsible for guiding technical direction, developing engineers, and ensuring the team ships meaningful improvements quickly while maintaining the high standards that define Render’s platform. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering background, a deep sense of ownership, and a passion for building products that developers love.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead and grow a team of product engineers, supporting their development through mentorship, feedback, and clear technical guidance.
- Drive execution on key product initiatives from ideation through launch, balancing speed with high standards of reliability and quality.
- Partner closely with Product and Design teams to translate customer needs into thoughtful technical solutions and product roadmaps.
- Engage deeply in technical discussions, guiding system design decisions and helping the team navigate architectural tradeoffs.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across engineering practices and team processes.
- Help the team break down complex problems into incremental milestones that deliver value quickly while supporting long-term platform evolution.
- Ensure teams maintain a strong understanding of the developer experience and customer impact of the features they build.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with product management, customers, and internal teams to understand needs, align priorities, and ensure delivery of impactful features and solutions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 8+ years as an Engineer shipping products and/or features that have downstream impact on the business and product ecosystem
- 2+ years of experience managing people and developing engineers, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
- Strong technical background with the ability to engage deeply in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs.
- Product-oriented mindset with experience translating business goals and user needs into engineering roadmaps and shipped features.
- Ability to balance urgency with thoughtful execution, helping teams ship quickly while maintaining high quality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design.
- A strong sense of ownership and accountability for both team outcomes and long-term system health.
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience building products for developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, or DevTools.
- Background working on highly scalable distributed systems or infrastructure platforms.
- Experience improving engineering velocity through tooling, processes, and team practices.
- Experience building products used directly by developers or technical users.
- A track record of successful collaboration with product, marketing, and customer support teams to drive adoption and retention.
If this role excites you but you don’t meet every single requirement, we’d still love to hear from you—your unique experience might be just what we need.
BENEFITS
- 4 weeks of paid vacation.
- 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return.
- Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans.
- 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent. FSAs and HSAs are available as well.
- Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental health and therapy, hobbies, etc.
- Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy.
- Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders.
- Continuous learning benefits & related support.
