About GiveDirectly
What if the most effective way to fight poverty was also the simplest: give people money and trust them to decide what they need?
Since 2011, GiveDirectly has proven that idea at scale. We’ve delivered more than $1B in cash directly to 2+ million people living in poverty and crisis across 15 countries, and rigorous research shows the results: healthier kids, stronger businesses, sturdier homes, and more resilient families and local economies. Cash is now widely recognized as one of the most scalable, cost-effective, and dignified forms of aid.
Our ambition goes beyond our own programs. We want cash to become the benchmark for aid, much as the index fund became the benchmark for investing, so that every aid dollar is held to one question:
is this doing more good than giving the money directly to people living in poverty?
We’re growing fast, and this is a rare and important moment to join.
We expect to hit $1B in revenue in 2026 with significant growth forecast for 2027. At the same time we are building a new technology stack and operating model designed for a roughly 10x change in scale, and we are actively pursuing partnerships with major funders to move even more money in bigger ways, to people who need it. We are known for our extensive integration of technology into field processes; our quantitative approach to performance measurement; and our commitment to rigorous, independent, experimental evaluation of our impact, with multiple Randomized Control Trials completed and others in progress.
How we work
Our team spans 20+ countries and 69 languages. Our culture is candid, analytical, and non-hierarchical. We expect high ownership and give people real responsibility early. Our values are central to how we hire, work, and grow, and they are deliberately opinionated:
Recipients first.
Recipients’ preferences come before those of donors or ourselves.
Team next.
We optimize for organizational success, not individual success.
Be proactively candid.
We say what we believe and share information openly.
Create positive energy.
We aim to be a source of energy for colleagues, not a drain.
Think rigorously; act quickly.
We reason from first principles, then act rather than debate.
Know yourself and grow.
We own our imperfections and seek feedback to grow.
Accept reality. Propose solutions.
We focus on what can change and bring solutions, not just problems.
Be productively ambitious.
We take risks for step-change impact, not incremental progress.
If they describe how you like to work and they energize you, this could be a great fit.

Priority application deadline:
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applications are heavily encouraged.
We’re growing at incredible speed, and expect to hit $1B in revenue in 2026 with significant growth forecast for 2027. We’re hiring a
Chief Technology Officer
to lead the building and rebuilding of the technology, systems and ways of working that will enable a sustained $5B+ p/a operation.
You will build software that safely and securely moves billions of dollars to millions of vulnerable people in some of the poorest and highest need parts of the world. This will require applying excellent engineering, team building and organizational judgment to complex, high-stakes operations: identity and fraud management, machine learning on large but imperfect datasets (cell phone data, satellite imagery, government registries), mobile money integrations, low-connectivity environments, rapidly evolving requirements all in diverse regulatory environments and country contexts. You’ll need to keep our legacy technology stack stable and performant, while in parallel building new systems from the ground up for our next level of scale.
You will lead engineering, data, security and enterprise technology – with a small, mighty and rapidly growing engineering team of ~15, and the expectation that this can at least double to ~30 in the next 12 months if you want it to. You’ll report to a CEO with deep experience running technology companies, and partner with our VP Product.
This role is remote, with working hours between US Eastern Time and East African Time, and some preference for candidates in our office hubs of New York, London, or Nairobi.
What we’re looking for:
An exceptional hirer, manager and organizer of technical talent.
Proven record identifying, hiring, developing and retaining excellent engineers and engineering leaders, and creating team processes that consistently deliver software with quality and velocity.
Deep technical judgment, applied close to the work.
You can evaluate major designs, pressure-test architecture and build-vs-buy decisions, and recognize when a team is heading the wrong way, without becoming the primary implementer. Low-ego: you’ll investigate a problem yourself when that’s what the situation requires.
Business judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity.
You’re not just a technical leader, you’re also a business executive. You understand the business, are a strong cross-functional partner, and have a history of good judgment when navigating tradeoffs of long vs. short term, speed, reliability, security, flexibility, cost, technical quality, and user impact.
AI first.
You have a point of view on where AI meaningfully changes engineering productivity and organizational capability, and you’ve moved a team from experimentation to real, measured use. You can set the tools, culture, goals, and guardrails that leverage the opportunities and mitigate the risks of an AI first engineering culture.
Embody and set an example for GD values.
We take
our values
incredibly seriously, and expect our leaders to embody, nurture, and promote them in the way they work and the teams they build.
Advantages, not requirements.
Experience in an operationally complex or regulated domain (fintech, payments, humanitarian response, global development); systems involving financial controls, fraud risk, identity, or sensitive recipient data; operating across multiple countries, particularly lower-income or infrastructure-constrained ones; leading both modern product engineering and enterprise technology.
What you’ll do
Define our technology vision and target stack.
Own the technical strategy for technology-first delivery at $5B+/year: architecture, platforms, build-vs-buy, and what we retire. Work with executive, product, finance, risk, and data leaders to turn program and product strategy into a sequenced, credible portfolio of technical investments.
Balance a demanding portfolio.
You'll manage six workstreams that all matter and won't all move at once: (1) building our new cash delivery stack (remote-first verification, fraud prevention, massive volume) (2) stabilizing our legacy stack until switchover, then managing the migration; (3) donor-facing fundraising products; (4) our global emergency cash system (and eventual white-labelling of that product); (5) enterprise technology; (6) internal tooling, platform, and cybersecurity. Deciding sequencing and staffing across these (and saying "not yet" credibly) is the job.
Build and grow an exceptional technology organization.
Recruit outstanding engineering and technology talent, design the org GiveDirectly needs at its next stage of scale (engineering, product, data, security, infrastructure, enterprise systems), and create the accountability, decision rights, and career paths to sustain high talent density. Grow the engineering team from 15 to ~30 with a lean but durable management structure.
Own the technical direction and quality bar.
Guide consequential decisions on integrations, data, security, reliability, and technical debt. Ensure our systems can safely support a major increase in transaction volume, geographic reach, and organizational dependence on technology. Set a pragmatic quality bar appropriate to high-stakes financial delivery while preserving speed.
Lead across organizational boundaries.
Serve as a member of GiveDirectly’s executive team, reporting to the CEO and bringing technology into major strategic and operating decisions. Help non-technical leaders understand technical constraints and costs, build credibility with country and functional leaders by understanding their realities, and force clarity when priorities, ownership, or tradeoffs are ambiguous.
Travel.
Approximately 4–6 trips per year, including visits to GiveDirectly countries of operation.
Compensation
At GiveDirectly, we strive to pay our employees generously and equitably. We use an accredited third party salary aggregator to calculate what we believe to be competitive pay based on role, location, and cost of living. We also have a no negotiation policy so pay is consistent across comparable roles.

🎯 Your main goal will be to enable GTM teams to close more deals faster by providing the knowledge, resources, and training they need to succeed at every stage of the buyer journey.
You’ll be helping us build on early-stage existing foundations (onboarding, certifications, tooling) and take it to the next level as we scale. This is a high-impact, hands-on role with a direct line to revenue outcomes.
🚀 BUILD ONBOARDING THAT SHORTENS RAMP TIME AND BOOSTS IMPACT
- Design and deliver world-class onboarding for new GTM team members across Sales, Customer Success, and Solutions Engineering.
- Track and continuously improve ramp time through tailored strategies and performance feedback loops.
- Collaborate with leadership to define what “great” looks like across roles and build onboarding paths accordingly.
📚 CREATE SCALABLE ENABLEMENT PROGRAMS THAT DRIVE REVENUE
- Translate product updates, GTM strategies, and technical concepts into clear, actionable content.
- Identify knowledge gaps and build role-specific enablement initiatives to address them.
- Design certifications and training frameworks (e.g. demo, discovery, technical proficiency) to ensure consistency and quality across the field.
🎤 RUN HIGH-IMPACT ENABLEMENT EVENTS AND INTERNAL COMMS
- Support the planning and execution of team-wide enablement moments like SKOs, regional kickoffs, and quarterly readiness sessions, partnering closely with sales and revenue leadership on strategy and messaging.
- Act as the voice of enablement for GTM teams, making sure they have the right information at the right time, through the right channels.
- Partner closely with Product, Product Marketing, and RevOps to sync launches, messaging, and process changes.
📊 MEASURE WHAT MATTERS AND MAKE ENABLEMENT A GROWTH DRIVER
- Define and track KPIs to demonstrate enablement’s impact on sales productivity, pipeline velocity, and deal size.
- Build a competency scorecard with GTM managers to support coaching and performance management.
- Use insights from sales calls, Gong data, and product usage to continuously refine your programs.
REQUIREMENTS

- 💼 Deal complexity experience: You've enabled teams selling mid-market to enterprise deals (6 to low-7 figures).
- 🧑💻 Technical buyer fluency: You understand how to sell to technical personas (CTOs, engineering managers) and can translate that into training that resonates with a technical AE audience.

We hire builders who thrive on complex technical challenges, hold themselves to a high bar, and genuinely care about delighting the people who use what they build. The team here brings sharp judgement, real craft, and the drive to do exceptional work. We're obsessed about the details and energized by the frontier.
If you want to do the best work of your career, this is the right place.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Engineering team tackles the toughest challenges, so our users never have to. Real-time infrastructure, AI-native architecture, and a frontend that feels effortless - all powered by a team that moves fast, thinks rigorously, and holds an exceptionally high bar for quality.
We’re looking for Staff Product Engineers that can solve our hardest technical problems, both individually and through technical leadership. You’ll design and build software that creates delightful, groundbreaking user experiences. You’ll play a key role in growing the talent in our engineering organization through mentoring, coaching and hiring, and you’ll resolve our most tricky product issues through an understanding of what’s important to our users and business.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide technical leadership for a critical part of Attio’s engineering organization. You’ll work across teams to design significant parts of our infrastructure, aligning with Attio’s overall technical strategy. You’ll hold a high bar for the output of the teams you work with, ensuring that Attio executes both quickly and with quality.
- Raise the bar on how we build and operate software. You’ll be part of a technical leadership group that sets standards for how we build and operate software at Attio, ensuring that we strive to build robust and maintainable systems that are reliable, scalable and secure.
- Grow our engineering talent. You’ll mentor and coach the engineers you work with, and help ensure we hire the best talent for Attio. You’ll share your knowledge and growth mindset with the team, and be open to new approaches and experiments as software engineering evolves in the age of AI.

You’ll understand the world of distributed, cloud-native systems, and intuitively create the right interfaces to allow teams to innovate in parallel.
- Proven technical leadership credentials. You’ll have a track record of not just personal execution, but of delivering projects through others. You’ll be able to break down large, complex problems into smaller, independent goals that others can own. You’ll understand how technical architecture impacts ability to deliver, and to maintain systems for the long term, and be sensitive to the need to pick the right compromise.
- A growth mindset. Software engineering is changing rapidly in the age of AI, and you’ll understand the need to be open-minded and to experiment. You’ll be keen to teach, and to learn from the experience of others. You’ll relish the challenge of working in an area that’s new to you, and enjoy the discomfort that leads to personal growth.
- A passion for growing the skills of others. As you deliver projects through your technical leadership, you’ll be keen to grow the next generation of technical leaders. You’ll have demonstrated impact through mentoring and coaching, and be able to flex your style depending on the needs of your colleagues. You’ll also be passionate about hiring the right talent for Attio.
- A focus on the product and customer. You’ll have strong opinions on what makes a great product, and a keen desire to deliver the things which generate value for Attio’s customers. You’ll be curious to learn about how our product is used in the field, and have an understanding of how to use data to ensure we’re building the right thing.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Attio is an AI-native platform trusted with our customers' most sensitive data - and keeping that data secure is foundational to everything we build. As we scale, so does the challenge: a large multi-tenant SaaS platform, AI-driven product features that introduce entirely new attack surfaces, and an engineering team shipping fast with AI-assisted development.
We're looking for a Security Engineering Lead to build and lead Attio's Product Security function, spanning application security and security operations. You'll work alongside our Engineering Leadership to make Attio secure by design, lead the response when things go wrong, and recruit a world-class team of Security Engineers and SecOps practitioners. This is a rare opportunity to define how security works at a company operating at the frontier of AI.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Work with Engineering Leadership peers to ensure that Attio is secure by design.
- Understand and mitigate the unique risks and attack vectors associated with AI-driven product features, and AI-assisted software development.
- Ensure that Attio is at the forefront of secure software development and operational practices.
- Lead production security incident response; deeply understand security issues and their associated root causes and risks, create remediation plans, and drive to resolution.
- Recruit and retain a world-class team of Security Engineers and SecOps practitioners.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Full understanding of the Application Security landscape in a high scale, multi-tenant SaaS context.
- Appreciation of the tools and techniques used to secure SaaS applications, through prevention, detection and remediation of security issues. Understanding of how to integrate those tools into an effective, scalable, cost-efficient program that delivers a secure service.
- First-class incident response skills, through the entire incident lifecycle of detection, remediation, clean-up, and post-incident corrective action.
- A recognized “talent magnet” and mentor who can recruit, retain and develop a high-quality Information Security team which continues to deliver for the business as Attio scales.
DESIRABLE
- Experience of running an Application Security program in a high scale, multi-tenant SaaS context.
- Experience of hiring and managing a team of Security Engineers, and working with cross-functional partners.
- Experience of security certification and re-certification programs.
- Project or program management experience.
- Background in software engineering or systems administration.

WHO ARE WE?
Cohere is the leading security-first enterprise AI company. We build cutting-edge foundation AI models and end-to-end products that are designed to solve real-world business problems.
We’re training and deploying frontier models for enterprises who are building AI systems. We believe that our work is instrumental to the widespread adoption of AI and we are looking for folks that want to be part of that.
We obsess over what we build. Each one of us is responsible for contributing to increasing the capabilities of our models and the value they drive for our customers. Cohere is a team of researchers, engineers, designers, and more, who are all passionate about their craft.
We are a global technology company headquartered in Toronto with key offices in London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul. Join us!
Role overview:
North is Cohere’s AI workspace platform for enterprises: a secure, customizable environment where companies can use AI across their real workflows while maintaining control over sensitive data. North connects AI agents with workplace tools, applications, and business context, helping users delegate complex work, build automations, inspect outputs, and collaborate with AI in production environments.
As North becomes more capable, one of the most important questions is also one of the hardest: how do we know whether the model is actually getting better for the workflows customers care about?
This role is about being the voice of North inside modelling. You will build the evaluation systems, feedback loops, and applied modelling workflows that make sure model progress translates into better product outcomes for North users. You will work closely with North product teams, customer-facing teams, and modelling teams to define what “good” means across the product surface, turn real usage and product direction into high-quality evals, and use those evals to guide model selection, patches, and regular model updates.
This is neither a pure research role nor a conventional product engineering role. It is a rigorous applied MLE role for someone who cares deeply about measurement, model behavior, and real-world product quality. You should be excited by the craft of building careful evals: evals that capture messy agentic workflows, reflect actual customer needs, resist superficial benchmark hacking, and provide useful signal for where the product and models need to go next.
Please note: this team works closely across Europe and East Coast North America time zones. We are open to candidates who can collaborate effectively within those hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the eval strategy for North: define what we need to measure across agent workflows, tool use, enterprise knowledge work such as deep research, document creation or editing, and other human-AI interactions.
- Build high-quality evals from the realities of the product: user feedback, production failures, privacy-preserving usage logs, internal dogfooding, customer needs, and forward-looking product goals.
- Create systems that continuously turn what North is learning from users, customers, and feature teams into evals, so measurement keeps pace with the product rather than becoming a static benchmark.
- Be the voice of North inside modelling: extract clear insight from eval results, customer-derived data and product context, then turn model failures, capability gaps, and North-specific needs into actionable recommendations for the central modelling teams.
Qualifications:
- You have improved LLM-powered, agent-powered, or AI-product systems through evals, feedback loops, data curation, prompting, model adaptation, or model selection.
- You care deeply about evaluation as a craft: representative tasks, precise rubrics, clean data, failure analysis, regression tracking, and knowing when a metric is giving false confidence.
- You have strong applied MLE judgment and can reason clearly about model behavior, eval validity, product outcomes, and production tradeoffs.
- You are comfortable working close to users and product teams, while translating messy qualitative signals into measurement that other modelling teams can act on.
- You are self-directed, practical, and motivated by open-ended problems where the right answer requires both technical depth and product understanding.
- You care about making AI systems genuinely useful in real enterprise settings, not just better on abstract benchmarks.
If some of the above does not line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply.
Working Location:
This role can be based remotely or from one of our office locations listed on the job description - there is no minimum in-office qualification requirement. We care most about hiring exceptional people regardless of locations, though please check the location listed on the posting for guidance around the core time zone or working hours alignment expected for the role.
FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES AT COHERE ENJOY THESE PERKS:
- A weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent in your local currency for lunch.
- Full health and dental benefits, including a separate budget for mental health.
- RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme.
- 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months, for either parent.
- Annual enrichment benefits:
Arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, and a workspace improvement credit.
Education & learning stipend for conferences, courses, and coaching.
- 6 weeks of paid vacation (30 working days!)
- Budget for traveling to other offices if you are remote, plus an annual company offsite.
HOW AND WHERE WE WORK:
- Cohere is remote-friendly, but we also have offices in Toronto, London, New York City, San Francisco, Montreal, Paris, Berlin and Seoul with more opening soon.
- For those in the office: a daily lunch program, plenty of snacks, and regular community and social events.
- For those not near an office: a co-working benefit so you can work alongside others in your city.
- Everyone receives a $500 home office stipend to set up your workspace properly.
If any of the above doesn’t line up exactly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply.
We strive to create an inclusive work environment for all; we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. Should you require any accommodations during the recruitment process, please submit an Accommodations Request Form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/12a6IrLdF3kI2nonKSr4tiFuz18rLQbaeYV-JM9L4o9Q/edit, and we will work together to meet your needs.
We may use AI-enabled tools to screen and assess applicants against the criteria for this position. This helps our recruiters identify potentially qualified candidates, but it doesn't limit the applications our recruiters may review or consider.
Beware of Scams: Cohere will never ask for payment or third-party services (e.g., CV writing) as part of our hiring process. All legitimate roles are listed on the Cohere careers page and LinkedIn only, with all communications from Cohere employees coming from an @cohere.com or @cw.cohere email alias. - Cultivated a community of more than 650,000 active developers and builders
- Earned 190K+ GitHub stars, making us one of the world’s Top 40 most popular projects
- Backed by top investors, from Sequoia’s first German seed to our SAP's recent strategic investment - bringing us to a $5.2bn valuation
That’s the company we’ve built. Now we’d love to see what you can build. If you’re applying, try n8n out - whether you’re technical or not - and share a screenshot of your first workflow with us. The easiest place to start is here: app.n8n.cloud/register http://app.n8n.cloud/register.
We’re in a defining moment of an incredible journey. Come and build with us.
Our support team keeps expanding, and we’re looking for a Senior Support Engineer to help us raise the technical depth and quality of support as n8n grows across increasingly complex enterprise use cases.
Your main goal will be to solve n8n’s toughest customer challenges and help us deliver a world-class technical support experience at scale.
You’ll combine deep technical troubleshooting with customer empathy, product insight, and a builder mindset — resolving difficult problems while making our product, processes, and team better along the way.
OWN COMPLEX TECHNICAL & ENTERPRISE SUPPORT
- Take ownership of complex technical issues across tickets, chat, and community channels, driving them from first investigation through to resolution.
- Diagnose issues across workflow execution, APIs, integrations, networking, self-hosted environments, and performance using logs, reproduction environments, and systematic debugging.
- Support enterprise customers through high-impact or business-critical issues with clear communication, strong judgement, and a focus on restoring value quickly.
PARTNER WITH ENGINEERING TO SOLVE ROOT CAUSES
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product to investigate bugs, identify root causes, and provide high-quality technical context for escalations.
- Distinguish between configuration issues, product defects, integration behaviour, and infrastructure problems so issues reach the right owners quickly.
- Identify recurring patterns in customer issues and turn them into actionable product, reliability, and usability improvements.
SCALE HOW WE SUPPORT CUSTOMERS
- Create and improve documentation, troubleshooting guides, FAQs, internal runbooks, and knowledge-base content that enable customers and teammates to solve problems faster.
- Help evolve support processes, tooling, and automation as our customer base and technical complexity continue to scale.
- Contribute to our paid on-call rotation, helping provide reliable support for urgent customer issues outside standard business hours.
RAISE THE BAR FOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT
- Share technical knowledge, debugging approaches, and best practices with other Support Engineers and help teammates tackle increasingly complex cases.
- Represent the voice of the customer with Product and Engineering, bringing evidence and context from real-world implementations into product discussions.
- Contribute to the n8n community by answering technical questions, sharing best practices, and helping builders get more value from the platform.
REQUIREMENTS
- Senior technical support experience: You have 5+ years of experience in technical support, support engineering, or another customer-facing engineering role and are comfortable owning complex problems end to end.
- Enterprise customer experience: You have experience supporting technically sophisticated customers where reliability, urgency, clear communication, and stakeholder management matter.
- APIs & integrations: You have a strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, authentication, data flows, and integrations and can systematically troubleshoot where things are breaking.
- Networking fundamentals: You have strong knowledge of concepts including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, proxies, certificates, and common connectivity issues.
- Kubernetes: You have hands-on experience troubleshooting applications running in Kubernetes environments.
- Technical fluency: You are comfortable working with JavaScript, Node.js, Docker, logs, and developer tools to investigate and reproduce technical problems.
- Structured problem solving: You can take an ambiguous technical problem, form hypotheses, gather evidence, isolate the root cause, and clearly explain what you found.
- Customer communication: You can translate complex technical concepts into clear, empathetic communication for audiences with different levels of technical expertise.
- Ownership mindset: You don’t stop at resolving the individual ticket — you look for ways to prevent the problem recurring and leave the product, documentation, or process better than you found it.
- North America & Eastern Time: You are based in one of the US states where n8n can currently hire — Texas, Virginia, Florida, New York, Massachusetts, or New Jersey — and can work Eastern Time business hours.
- On-call participation: You’re comfortable participating in a paid on-call rotation to help support urgent customer issues outside standard working hours.
NICE-TO-HAVES
- n8n experience: You’ve used n8n hands-on and understand core concepts such as workflows, nodes, credentials, executions, and common integration patterns.
- Self-hosted infrastructure: You have experience supporting containerised or self-hosted software across Linux, cloud, or customer-managed infrastructure.
- AI & automation: You have experience with workflow automation, AI tooling, LLM APIs, or other developer-focused automation platforms.
- Observability: You’re familiar with logs, metrics, tracing, or observability tooling and know how to use evidence to narrow down production issues.
