Job Description
About the role
Checkout.com http://Checkout.com is looking for an ambitious Staff Data Engineer to join our Data and AI Platform Team. Our team’s mission is to build a platform where you can create reliable, scalable, AI-powered streaming and batch data applications, and share data across Checkout.com http://Checkout.com to improve business performance.
The Data and AI Platform team is here to ensure internal stakeholders can easily collect, store, process and utilise data to build AI use cases and data products aiming to solve business problems. Our focus is on maximising the amount of time engineers spend on solving business problems and minimising time spent on technical details around implementation, deployment, and monitoring of their solutions.
We're building for scale. As such, much of what we design and implement today is the technology/infrastructure which will serve hundreds of teams and petabyte-level volumes of data.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with stream processing technologies (Kafka and Flink) to build a continuously available large-scale event streaming platform
- Leverage subject matter and technical expertise to provide leadership, mentoring, and strategic influence across the organisation whilst building strong relationships with engineers and engineering managers
- Build tooling (modules/SDKs/DSLs) and associated documentation to foster the adoption of the streaming platform by enabling upstream teams and systems to easily publish data and deploy streaming applications
- Implement all the necessary infrastructure to enable end users to build, host, monitor and deploy their own streaming applications
- Provide consultancy across the technology organisation to drive the adoption of the platform and unlock event-driven use-cases
- Participate, translate, run and execute the collection of requirements and architecture/design initiatives into action plans
- Provide hands-on support for all event-based systems including incident triage and root cause analysis
About You
While experience with our specific tech stack is a plus, we welcome candidates with a strong background in data systems who are eager to learn. The core remit of this role is to own and scale our event streaming capability, not to serve as a general DevOps or infrastructure engineer.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with a proven track record of influencing engineering organisations
- Strong engineering background with a track record of implementing and owning event streaming platforms
- Hands-on experience working with stream technologies, ideally Kafka
- Experience designing and implementing stream processing applications with Flink
- Experience working with cloud-based technologies such as AWS (MSK, S3, Lambda, ECS, SNS)
- Experience with Kubernetes (either self-hosted or on the cloud)
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience working with Docker, container deployment and management
- Experience describing infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) as well as designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent programming skills with at least one of Java or Python

Here, you’ll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver. It’s a place where ambition gets met with opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands.

Workplace: Hybrid
ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Flight Software Deployment Engineer
- Location: Warsaw, Poland/ Espoo, Finland
- Department: Flight Software Build & Release Team
- Reports to: Flight Software Build & Release Team Lead
- Employment type: Permanent
- Workplace model: Hybrid (3 days in the office)
- Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
The Build & Release team owns the path from source to flight-ready software across growing satellite constellations. This role exists because every artifact that reaches satellites in orbit must be reproducible, traceable, and verifiable. A bad update is not a simple rollback, it could mean a satellite becomes at risk.
This is not a generic SRE or DevOps role, the production environment is composed of satellites flying 500 km above our heads, and the software artifacts are cross-compiled embedded binaries. The role is in the realm of half build engineering and half embedded Linux development, you need to be willing to work at both ends.
Satellites are treated to OTA updates regularly which our team must make sure are built and deployed the right way, utilizing software development best practices.
WHO WE ARE
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands on software engineering of our satellite on-board updating system, built to deploy software and firmware updates: features, maintenance, tests and documentation.
- Contribute to the build layer across the flight software domain, so every repository is built, versioned and packaged the same way.
- Enforce immutable releases and harden the packaging and signing pipelines: least-privilege permissions, pinned workflows and dependencies, approvals, and proper signing key management.
- Work with the Linux platform team on how updates land on the satellite on-board computers, covering packaging format, filesystem layout and access control, making sure what we build installs cleanly and safely.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must haves:
- Embedded software engineering experience, with hands-on embedded Linux development: cross-compilation for ARM or similar targets, kernel configuration, device tree overlays, root filesystem and image construction.
- Production CI/CD experience for compiled artifacts, not only containers or web deployments. GitHub Actions specifically is required, and workflow hardening experience is valuable.
- Working proficiency in C and C++ build environments, and in Python and Bash for automation.
- Experience implementing release integrity controls, immutable artifacts storage. Signing key management, PKI and trust chains, AWS object-lock storage and cloud key management are all valuable here.
- Shipping software to embedded devices already in the field with a package-based update mechanism, ideally opkg, under controlled release processes, quality gates and formal sign-of
Nice to haves:
- Command of CMake, including multi-repository setups, toolchain files, and shared build infrastructure that other teams consume. Buildroot experience is relevant here.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Conversation with talent acquisition (~30 min).
- Screening with the hiring manager (~60 min).
- Technical test - take home task to be completed in 3 to 5 working days.
- Technical deep-dive (~90 min).
- On-site office visit & director interview (~60 min).

About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
Anthropic’s APAC go-to-market organisation is the fastest-growing part of our international business, spanning markets with distinct languages, cultures and buying styles. Today, enablement for the region is delivered by our global and EMEA teams. As we scale in APAC, we are establishing an initial in-region enablement presence, based in Sydney and supporting the field across the region.
As Enablement Lead, you will be hands-on in getting the APAC field ready: onboarding, ongoing skill development, manager coaching support and launch readiness, across GTM functions, not just sales. You will spend most of your time in the room, running sessions, building programmes and working directly with sellers and managers, in the time zones and languages where customer conversations happen.
This is a build role with a global spine. You inherit a working global and international enablement engine. Your job is to adapt it for APAC, deliver it across the region, and feed what you learn back into the international and global programme.
How we work: adults learn by doing, so we build sessions around live activity: practice, reflection, real customer scenarios. The measure is not what was covered in the room. It is what changes a week later in how people think, decide and sell.
This takes creativity and a solid understanding of how adults learn, applied at speed. The frontier moves quickly and the field is scaling fast. Much of the work is unlearning: helping experienced sellers let go of pre-AI habits, not just teaching new ones. AI is what makes this scalable: endless practice partners, personalised scenarios from real deals, feedback minutes after a call. You will use it that way, not to generate more content.
Key responsibilities
Set up the APAC enablement rhythm: in-region onboarding cohorts, live practice-based sessions in APAC time zones, and a feedback loop into the global programme
Adapt the international portfolio for APAC, where content for several markets needs to be written and translated ahead of delivery
Personally design and facilitate deal walkthroughs, role-plays and customer-conversation rehearsal, favouring practice over presentation
Partner with regional GTM leaders to build a coaching standard that scales as the manager layer grows
Own launch readiness for the region, so that when a new model or product ships, the APAC field is certified and conversation-ready in the same week cycle as everyone else
Build the measurement habit: track what the field does differently afterwards, not content shipped or attendance
Minimum qualifications
8+ years in GTM enablement, sales productivity or similar roles, including experience leading or running enablement programmes
Experience delivering GTM enablement in APAC, ideally across more than one of the region’s markets
Experience influencing beyond your own team or region, such as a programme adopted elsewhere or a senior stakeholder whose decision you changed
Hands-on track record designing and running practice-first enablement, measured by changes in field behaviour
A working understanding of how adults learn, and comfort helping experienced sellers unlearn pre-AI habits
Creativity with AI in your craft: personalised practice, real-deal scenarios and fast feedback rather than more content
Experience owning programmes end to end, from design through delivery and measurement
Experience enabling a field across languages and cultures, and knowing what breaks when English-first content ships as-is
Comfort working with sales leaders as a peer, including pipeline reviews, deal inspection and forecast conversations
Good judgement on when to adapt global programmes and when to adopt them as-is
Strong candidates may also
Have held both a global and an APAC enablement role
Have run enablement delivered across multiple APAC markets
Have helped build or scale an enablement function
Have carried a quota or led sellers earlier in their career
Have enablement experience in AI, developer platforms or technical products sold to both executives and builders
Have built manager or coaching programmes, not just individual-contributor enablement
Logistics
Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study:
A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience:
Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy:
Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:
We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification.
Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.
To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit
anthropic.com/careers
directly for confirmed position openings.
How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
